Thought I was over Daniel's penalty from the GP. Then I read this where even the stewards agree that penalising Daniel in the form of a grid drop at the next race, while the day before Alonso received a time penalty post-retirement, is extremely unfair and think it should be reviewed and clarified. Now I am positively seething. Fuck the FIA and the stewards.

I'm relatively new to this hellsite but I figured out something really cool early on, right after the first time someone got shitty in my inbox.

TURN OFF ANONYMOUS ASKS.

The number of posts I've seen talking about how people are getting insults, threats, hate, whatever sent to them... Come on. The setting is right there.

Something else I've very quickly realized is that most people here LIVE for the drama. They don't WANT the abuse to stop because it gives them something to write/cry about and use as ammunition against whatever group has wronged them that week. And it's twice as great for the rabid drama lovers because they can blame ANYONE for the messages and make sure they fit their narrative. They can even have friends or an alt send awful things that they can then share for attention. It's extremely silly.

So! If you are truly bothered by the anonymous messages you receive - turn them off. The abuse stops instantly, because very few people will have the conviction to put their name to their words. OF COURSE it's never okay to send someone threats or hate, but it's also stupid to not be proactive in stopping it.

Do it. You won't.

Someone just tried to defend Stroll by saying not paying attention to the car in front of him during a safety car restart was a "racing incident" (who was he "racing" when he wasn't allowed to pass or otherwise make a move?) and that he's not a nepo baby because he works out at a high level (with the personal trainer daddy pays for) to drive an F1 car (for the team daddy pays for).

I don't understand Lance Stroll fans on a good day, but how do you defend what he did today? Not in a "my bb is precious and does no wrong 🥺" way, but actually?

He wasn't paying attention/looking at the other cars, went into a hairpin turn way too fast, and sent another car airborne during a safety car/restart.

That's inexcusable at the Formula 1 level. This isn't the first time he's been careless, but it might be the most egregious. His lack of attention and care could seriously injure someone. That penalty wasn't enough.

Then he doesn't even have the ability to take responsibility, he just whines and tries to blame the person he hit. "Nobody's friends with poor bb Lance 🥺" - this is why. He's deeply unlikable, top-down. Without daddy constantly buying seats, at the detriment of other more talented/less wealthy drivers, he absolutely wouldn't be in F1. The other drivers obviously know this, and when you couple it with his "personality," yikes.

And an unfriendly reminder - disliking Lance doesn't give you an excuse to be antisemitic, ableist, etc. That just makes you a shitty person. There's enough to talk about without all that hate. ✌🏻

It's so unsurprising that the girlies are defending a racist with their whole chests.

The number of girlies who are defending Kyle Larson because at the age of 27, after finally suffering a (minimal) consequence for being a casual racist, he had to "put in work" and "learned* that slurs are harmful to people... Are you for real? This wasn't a child. This was a GROWN MAN. If at 27 you don't know casually dropping the n-word is bad and need extensive training to realize that being a racist hurts Black/POC people, there's something integrally wrong with you. But yeah, the girlies will defend anything, especially if it's part of the right team and a PR package sponsored by other racists.

I heard that slur happen live. I heard the reaction live. It wasn't a "mistake," it was a normal behavior. Even Larson admits he wouldn't have said it if he knew he was being broadcast. He knew it was wrong. It was normal for him. But sure. He had to actually talk to a Black person to realize slurs and racism hurt Black people. At the age of 27. He didn't put in "work" because he cared, he had to churn the PR machine for the sport at-large due to the sociopolitical climate in 2020.

NASCAR's response to the protests in 2020 and their treatment of racial issues since has been pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Kyle Larson became popular because he used a slur, and his team leans into their "conservative" values. Come on. Be smarter than you're acting, girlies.

I once had hope that young/new fans getting into NASCAR would force them to clean up their act, but obviously not, since you're lapping up the PR machine and calling it a day. The girlies don't care about racism, ableism, bigotry, etc. as long as it fits their aesthetic, it's been proven time and time again.

And you know what? Yeah, I hate Zak Brown. I think he's a slimy weasel who absolutely exploits his drivers and openly values cash flow over morals. He's a PR genius with no actual spine. Happy to clear that up.

Y'all make me sick. I hope this subset of fan gets bored and moves on to the next fixation sooner rather than later.

If I was a VCARB engineer and Yuki kept deciding it was okay to scream, curse, and otherwise be a twat to me/the team, I would sabotage him. Luckily, those engineers are professionals and used to working with that immature child.

Maybe one day he'll grow up and learn to be a respectful professional like his team, but it's obviously not happening this week. 😂
