BRUH THIS WRECKED ME!
thank u for showing the hard sides of kataang, this was so well done
Kataang-eventual-Zutara “Maturity Gap” Modern AU (rated T)
When they met, Katara was fourteen.
She had just finished 8th grade that summer, and was mentally preparing herself for high school and her dreams of working in human rights and immigration law, babysitting on the side to make a little extra money for law school.  Sokka had mentioned this wealthy, elderly gay couple that moved into the mansion at the edge of town, and they were looking for a baby-sitter for their quiet homesick little boy – mostly for the company, Sokka says, not so much the babysitting.  The couple is paying a lot of money for the gig, so Katara shrugs and takes up on the offer.
When she meets Aang, she’s perplexed that he’s actually not as young as she imagined… not like what Sokka had described him to be.
Aang was twelve years old.  He loved recess and playing with his dog Appa and his cat Momo, and Katara was there, babysitting him, three times a week during the day and becoming his first friend in that new town, before he starts 7th grade.  They go on a lot of field trips together, volunteering at animal shelters, community soccer games, frisbee at the beach… and they have fun together… and it’’s so weird that this kid is technically someone Katara was hired to look after.  Katara sees how Aang’s elderly gay dads, Roku and Gyatso, definitely dote on this kid like a child, despite how he’s old enough to take care of himself — but Katara grows fond of Aang’s fun-loving nature.  Yes, he is a kid… someone so young at heart but with that otherworldly wisdom of an old soul.
By the end of that summer, Katara and Aang hold hands, and they share their first kiss.  It’s weird for Sokka to walk into, since this was a kid his mature, motherly sister was babysitting… what Sokka calls “oogies”… but Katara doesn’t care.
They officially start dating when Katara enters her freshman year of HS and Aang is that 7th grader latching into carefree childhood antics.  He makes more friends on his own in middle school, feeling more confident as the “new kid” in town after Katara gave him an entire summer of friendship.   In high school, Katara focuses on her studies and brushes off the affection she gets from a few high school boys… Haru, Jet… boys who’re not exactly unattractive and who definitely give her attention every teenage girl wants.  Instead, she can only think about Aang… how is he?  Is he making new friends?  Do the teachers like him?  Are any kids bullying him because he’s vegetarian?
It’s weird.  She’s never had a real boyfriend before, but the feelings for Aang are very much there, and Katara doesn’t mind meeting Aang after school to play with his own friends.  When Aang starts playing soccer, and joins the middle-school jazz band, Katara is always there cheering for him, videotaping his performances.  Two years later… when she kisses Aang’s cheek at his middle-school graduation ceremony, and  Aang’s teachers say to her “how she must be so proud of her little brother…” Katara doesn’t care.
Katara is very much the committed girlfriend, and feeling Aang’s hand holding hers is enough to let her know he would do exactly the same.
Katara and Aang spend another perfect summer together…. walking along the beach, stargazing at night, taking hikes on the nearby forest preserves. and Katara works around her first official summer job as a lifeguard, trying not to get too distracted by Aang’s antics with his middle-school friends at the pool.  It’s weird, having to be authoritative and assertive in front of her own boyfriend… and seeing Aang react jokingly – sometimes dismissively, sometimes appallingly – by her voice of discipline… but Katara doesn’t pay any mind to it.
By the time she starts her junior year of high school, Katara is on the varsity swim team, member of debate team and studying for SATs and Aang is the freshman “golden-boy…” just enjoying life, making more friends and going off to do fun things with them on the weekends.  While Katara needs to study and look at colleges, Aang always asks her to join in on his antics.  Although it does affect Katara’s focus and her grades slightly, she doesn’t mind, and she pretends to not be annoyed by Aang’s natural knack for stellar grades but less-than-impressive work ethic.
Anyway, they’re joint at the hip, dubbed the “it couple” by faculty and students alike… although more than once, Katara has had to correct people that “um, yeah I’m actually more than just Aang’s girlfriend, thanks.”
When he starts sophomore year, Aang’s wealthy gay dads celebrate his sweet- sixteen with a new car, now that he’s old enough to drive… and Aang loves taking his girlfriend places on his fashionable set of wheels. Katara rolls her eyes about it, but she has to admit, she kind of likes being pampered by Aang’s spoiled upbringing, entering fancy restaurants for dates with his entitlement.
As a sophomore, Aang is a star soccer player and jazz band flautist while Katara is a senior, student council treasurer, captain of debate team, captain of the swim team and getting ready for college.  She applies to her dream school in Washington DC and Aang support this, despite being it so far away and promising he’ll follow her there when he finishes high school.  Katara asks Aang to her senior prom, and of course he accepts and they dance the night away as the “it couple” they are, their peers circling around them in awe and clapping along as they dance perfectly-choreographed routines.  It’s magical.  They later sneak off into Aang’s mansion that night, and lose their virginities there, in Aang’s childhood room.  It’s strange for Katara…  being among Aang’s stuffed animals and soccer trophies and movie posters, and realizing how much this body in front of her is no longer the kid she once babysat… but that of a young man. For Aang, seeing Katara’s body is like a dream; he’s nervous but giddy at the fact that she’s become more womanly from when he’d first had a crush on her.
Their night together is sweet, quiet… slightly awkward… and while Aang holds her tightly like a belt in his peaceful slumber, Katara doesn’t sleep at all that night. Because she is smiling.  She is in love.
She knows now: This is how it feels to find a soulmate.
Katara does get accepted into her dream school, but makes that last-minute bold choice to enroll in a local community college instead… to avoid a long-distant relationship with her true love as he finishes high school.
While Aang starts his junior year and effortlessly is acing his exams… being voted class president and class clown, winning varsity soccer games…. Katara goes to community college, volunteers at a homeless shelter and works part-time at a health clinic. For the next two years, things seem okay, despite only being able to see each other after-school, after-work, on the weekends.
Aang asks her to his senior prom, and of course Katara accepts.
Only this time… their dance feels a lot less “it couple”y… more like an adult-chaperone-awkwardly-dancing-with-the-golden-boy-student.  It’s weird.
Aang is smiling happily, obliviously, but Katara tries to ignore the look on Principal Iroh, that look of disappointment.  She tries to ignore the looks on Aang’s female classmates… their annoyed eyes, their pursed lips.
And she fully averts her eyes from the faces of her old teachers… Tyro, Pakku, Yugoda, Jiang… how by their looks, they seem to feel sorry for her, how their frowns silently ask “Why are you here?” “We saw your determination, your passion, your drive; what happened to them?”
“Where did your ambition go?”
Nevertheless, Aang is crowned Prom King, he gets his prom photo with Katara, and once again they spend prom night together… this time, in Katara’s studio apartment.  It’s less quiet than the first time, because it’s now been two years of Aang sneaking out of his place to spend regular nights with Katara in that bed, their bodies now accustomed to each other.  Aang can’t help but feel like a true king that night… and Katara, well… she tries to feel like a queen, but it’s hard.
She fights that sting of feeling like a trophy– a peasant girl, next to this supposed king…her body desperately hanging onto something she believes still exists… something that isn’t slipping away.
Aang holds Katara as he sleeps peacefully, but she doesn’t sleep.  She just stares at the ceiling, ignoring the tears streaming down her cheeks.
Since they still managed to make it through those last two years and Aang also got into Katara’s dream school in Washington DC… she is hoping this means she can finally transfer there with Aang.  They can officially start a life together, like grownups do.
So when Katara notices how indecisive Aang is about what he wants to study (philosophy? physical education? humanities? animal sciences?) and how some of his soccer friends are joining the Peace Corps to travel the world before officially starting college… and how Roku and Gyatso are financially going to support that idea… Katara doesn’t know what to say.  So Aang speaks more.  It would be another two years, he says, but it would be amazing if Katara could join him… and they could travel the world together: “I mean, it can’t be that hard to put a temporary halt on your college studies, right?  All those classes you took were just GenEds, anyway.”
Katara says nothing, still.  She just looks at him.  At Aang.  This person she had practically grown up with… the person she thought completely understood her… and how much she wanted to study in Washington DC, be at the center for change, and fight for immigration and human rights law.  Who was this person, staring back at her with those big, doting, silver eyes?
She finally speaks.  She speaks loudly.
Katara says how, for two years, she was “waiting for him” in a local college she didn’t even want to go to, just so they could have quality time… assuming they’d eventually attend the same college and start their life together as young world changers, like they always talked about.  She says how it’s now very clear he is still a kid, thinking about his needs and only considering hers if it benefits his own, still assuming she’ll go with what he wants… support what he decides.
She tells him all of this, and asks Aang, once again, to come to Washington DC with her, like he had once supported.  But Aang gets upset; he says he’s not ready to settle down in one place… that he wants to experience the world as a nomad for a little while.  Katara lowers her eyes, because it’s clear they are no longer on the same page.
When Aang tells her he loves her, it comes out in that desperate, boyish sound of a child wanting to hold onto his favorite toy.  Katara fights that urge to give Aang the same, almost automatic response she’d always given him all those years, ever since that first prom night they spent together.
“I’m sorry, Aang.”
Katara closes her eyes, tears falling quietly down her cheeks.  This can’t be a soulmate, she thinks, this person who doesn’t see all of her.  She sees her friend, though, and it makes her truth come out more painfully than she could imagine.  Aang says nothing, and leaves with a weep in his voice.
They spend that summer apart.  Katara mails him back his things.
He doesn’t speak to her, or write to her all throughout that summer… and while Katara catches herself remembering certain things, like the way his laugh would always make her smile… she doesn’t write to him, either.  She can imagine how much this breakup hurts Aang, too. Because he thought she was his soulmate, too… and this must all feel like a betrayal.  Katara knows this is hard for him, trying to see his ex-girlfriend as just a friend, trying to see that as enough…  so this quiet distance is probably for the best.
It’s devastating to think Aang is no longer a part of her regular life the way he had been those last six years… and Katara cries so many nights that summer while she packs up to leave for Washington DC, alone, feeling like a third of her young life has just vanished.
When she moves in to her residence hall, Katara is a little reserved, but she does get to know her roommate Suki, and eventually makes more friends.  She joins a few pre-law study groups and volunteers at an immigration center, and does go on the occasional college party, the occasional date.
Some of the college boys do get a second and third date, and one lucky guy gets to share his bed with her for a couple months… but eventually things fade, and Katara persists with her studies.
By the end of her first year as a transfer student, Katara feels at home in DC, remembering why she is there, embracing who she is.  That summer. before her final year, she believes she is headed to a spectacular graduation… interning at a public defendant’s office, working part-time at the immigration center, applying to law schools.  She’s single, but she has plenty of time for love, so she doesn’t worry about that.
It isn’t until the first day of that final spring semester… when she proudly walks into the graduate-level Human Rights Law and Justice class she fought so hard with her advisor to get into… that she notices a graduate student reading quietly, sitting right across from her at the table.  A young man and a scar that she’d seen one too many times when her passionate, headstrong self went up against his assertive, superior, oftentimes smug persona in debate tournaments between their rivaling high-schools.
She studies his face, now – how, despite its seriousness, it no longer looks as angry or smug as it once did.  How there’s a softness to his brow, a kindness to his eyes.
Zuko feels the weight of someone staring at him, and looks up to see who it is, and blinks.
He recognizes her.  He certainly remembers her.
In that small distance, while other students filter in and find seats at the same round table, Katara and Zuko say nothing. But oh, the smiles they exchange?  It’s enough for them to know that this semester will be very, very interesting.

Did someone say the Rampion Crew on summer vacation?
#Lunar10YearsLater — Wow does this series mean a lot to me! It’s a miracle when an author can get you to like every. single. character in a 9 character/POV story, and Marissa Meyer did it! I remember binging the last 3 books and Fairest over spring break in 2016, and coming back to class feeling super accomplished, especially since I read Winter (824 pages!!) in only 4 days! Well, now I can handle it in 3, maybe next time 2 👀
The Rampion Crew holds a special place in my heart, and I’m super proud of how this group piece came out! Please swipe to see a Polaroid version of this photo, close-ups, and lineart because I’m just so happy with how they all came out. Like, that right there is the best Iko I’ve drawn, same with Kai, and overall I think a lot of these are major improvements over the first time I drew them ✨

went through my main's rb's and found this again
so well written, I love it!! I absolutely LOVE how you write their dynamic, it feels so genuine, and that hugh and nova still have tension!! not that many people like writing that, i find it really realistic though, thank you for writing this (so long ago but who cares) <33
can you do some with nova and adrian in the house with hugh & simon like in archenemies
soo…I tried. im terrible at writing adults for whatever reason. also, im sorry bc I used this as self indulgence and basically continued a previous tiny group of fics that I plan to keep adding on to
anyway, this is nodrian house hunting, basically. that’s it.
Nova’s hands curled tighter around her mug as thunder and lightning disrupted the steady downfall of rain. She shifted closer to Adrian underneath the blanket they were sharing to get a better look at the new image he pulled up on his tablet.
“Two bedroom, one bathroom,” he read off, scrolling down to look at the description of the apartment. “Sun filled updated condo in a great location…completely renovated kitchen…front porch and fenced in back patio…” He nodded, lips pursed.
Nova sipped her tea, enjoying its warmth. “Square footage?”
“Just over one thousand.” Adrian scrolled back up to the pictures included with the condo. Nova nearly choked on her drink.
“Great skies, Adrian. You said you were looking for an apartment, not a house.”
Adrian began swiping through the photos. “This is a condo, Nova. It’s just the first floor, not both.”
“Well, they’re charging quite a bit for just the first floor.” Nova leaned in front of her to set the mug down on the coffee table.
They were sitting in the living area of Adrian’s home, looking for a place for Adrian to call his own due to the many circumstances including privacy. When Adrian had first mentioned house hunting after he returned from his Africa trip, they had planned on meeting at Nova’s place to keep away from the prying eyes of Simon and Hugh, Adrian’s nosy dads. However, they hadn’t planned on the heating system to stop working throughout the entire apartment complex during a week of storms, so they agreed to just meet at Adrian’s house and keep it low key. Lucky for them, Simon and Hugh had been gone for the better part of the day, running errands and working with other Renegades to rebuild the system. Neither of them held the knowledge that their former worst enemy and current girlfriend of their son was cuddled up next to him on their couch in the middle of their living room, doing the most domestic thing on the planet. Max, who was just in the early stages of his teen years, was locked away in his room with his video games. He had been in the living area when Nova came over, but immediately fled to the safety of his bedroom to ‘avoid gross couple-y things’.
“I don’t mind going a little over budget.” Adrian shrugged nonchalantly. “The kitchen is actually really nice for a condo. Lots of light. New appliances. I think this is in one of those old neighborhoods that they’re trying to bring back to life.”
Nova raised an eyebrow. “A little over budget is a few thousand. Your price ranger is under one-fifty. This is almost three hundred, Adrian.”
“I’m well aware.” Adrian shot her a look, eyes glinting in amusement. He pressed a kiss to her temple. “The yard’s too small anyway.” He exited out of the condo and went back to the main list.
“Now you want a yard?” Nova shifted to face him better. The blanket twisted with her. “What are you going to do? Adopt a dog?”
“I might.” Adrian glanced at her again, this time quicker than the last.
After a few minutes of scrolling, he opened up another listing. Nova resisted the urge to roll her eyes. This one was a house. Or, as the description read, single family home. “What are you going to do with a two story house, Adrian Everhart? With three bedrooms?” Upon closer examination of the description, she blinked in confusion. “Buddy. This isn’t even in Gatlon.”
“Would you like to do the searching for me?” Adrian offered her the tablet jokingly, although she could tell he was a little miffed from the tight set of his shoulders. Nova wanted to shrink back into the blanket, but she refused to.
“I just want to know why you’re looking at places bigger and more expensive than you mentioned before. Not to mention that they don’t really look like a first home for a twenty year old planning to live by himself.”
Adrian set the tablet back down in his lap. “Maybe I don’t plan to live by myself.”
Nova gave him a long look, which he returned. “And who’s going to be living with you? Oscar and Ruby are getting married, so that rules out him. One of your old friends?”
“Well, maybe I plan to live by myself at first,” Adrian paused, “but it never hurts to be prepared for the future.” He went quiet after that and tore his eyes from Nova’s. As he returned to the main list, it struck Nova, turning her cheeks a dark color.
“Adrian-”
“Look, here’s an apartment. Two bedroom, one bathroom, in the price range and in Gatlon.”
She rested her hand on his neck, forcing him to turn his head back to face her.
“What?” He feigned being oblivious, but Nova saw through it.
“Adrian,” she started again, biting her lip. “We don’t know what’s in the future. We haven’t even been together for six months yet.”
“I don’t need six months to know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Nova.”
It was Nova’s turn to fall silent. Her eyes fell to the tablet, with the apartment Adrian had pulled up. It was hideous, judging from the first photo. Definitely not Adrian’s style.
Nova couldn’t deny that she had thought of what life would be like if she and Adrian stayed together long enough to make a huge decision like moving in together. But every time that her mind brought it up, it terrified her. Almost her whole life had been spent alone, even when she lived in the subway tunnels with the Anarchists. Even now, when she had been spending the past two years surrounded by people and building relationships that had previously been made up of lies. She lived alone, she made all her own decisions, she worked independently among a group of people. The last time she hadn’t truly been alone was before her family was killed.
Sure, since she had started dating Adrian, for real, some of those things were altered. She began to be more open and friendly (because Adrian told her that she gave off a ‘I’m-better-than-everyone-else’ bitch vibe whenever she kept to herself), and she was more open to collaborating. But none of those were as big as changing her whole living situation by moving in with Adrian. Moving in with Adrian would mean exposing herself and trusting him in the rawest ways possible. Not that she didn’t already trust him. She trusted him with her life. But this was a different kind of trust, and she didn’t know if she was ready for it. For now, at least. So she told him.
“But things could change later,” Nova said quickly, upon seeing Adrian’s face fall. “And…I guess you’re right. It doesn’t hurt to prepare for the future.” To reassure him, she tilted her head up and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
Adrian reached for her hand, entwining their fingers together. “So, what you’re saying is that you’re not against moving in together one day?”
“I’m not saying no,” Nova corrected, although the corner of her mouth began to twitch at the change in mood.
A grin painted itself on Adrian’s face, and he leaned forward, cupping Nova’s face and pressing his lips to hers, not quite as gentle as before.
“I love you,” he murmured, tracing his thumb just underneath her ear.
“I love you, too.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again. As Adrian slowly moved his hands to her waist to pull her into his lap, the tablet slid to the ground with a thud that neither of them heard.
They stayed like that for a few minutes, wrapped up in each other’s embrace, kissing slowly and savoring the moment, when a click came from the front of the house, followed by the sound of a door opening.
Upon hearing the voices of Adrian’s dads, calling to Adrian and Max that they were home, Nova’s eyes flung open, meeting Adrian’s panicked ones. She all but leaped from his lap, nearly falling to the ground in her struggle to unwrap her legs from where they were previously situated around his waist. Adrian reached for the fallen tablet and straightened his collar, which was slightly disturbed. Nova pushed herself to the other end of the couch, and reached up to make sure her hair wasn’t tussled.
Adrian loved playing with her hair, she had come to learn since starting their relationship. Whether it was when they were just spending time together or an hour long of kissing and cuddling, he liked to have his hands in her hair. Because of that, her hair tended to be messy after their dates. And not just unbrushed messy; it made it clearly obvious that Nova had been doing questionable things with someone. That someone being Adrian.
His dads entered the room, Hugh leading, and paused when they saw Nova sitting next to their son on the couch, both trying to keep their breathing steady. Simon was the first to break the silence with a smile.
“We didn’t know Adrian was having you over, Nova. It’s nice to see you.”
Nova managed to smile back, eyes flickering between him and Hugh. “Uh…yeah. It’s good to see you, too.”
Hugh, who remained quiet, had been wary of Nova ever since her identity had been revealed years ago. While they were on friendlier terms, he still exercised caution around her, and he still held a bit of a grudge against her for everything she did to his family. Which he was allowed to hold. Just as she was allowed to hold a grudge against him for all the times he had wronged her. Despite the fact that both parties had apologized for wrongdoings against the other. Perhaps one day, they would find a compromise that would put the past behind them. Today was not that day, for obvious reasons.
Simon cleared his throat, glancing at their set up, made of blankets, pillows, and hot drinks. It was practically screaming evidence that he and Hugh were interrupting a date. “So…what are you two up to?”
Nova exchanged a quick glance with Adrian. “Apartment hunting,” he stated plainly, holding up the tablet to show them. “I, uh, asked Nova the other day to help me out. She actually has a knack for real estate.”
Nova nodded, maybe a little too enthusiastically. “Yeah! Who knew, right?”
“Any luck?” Hugh finally spoke, strolling over to the couch to peer over Adrian’s shoulder. Nova tensed.
“Not really.” Adrian laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck and readjusting his glasses. “At least, not in the city.”
“What about the suburbs?”
“Nova doesn’t think it’s wise to buy a house at my age.” Adrian’s tone was light, meant to come across as joking, but Nova still felt a wave of guilt roll through her when Hugh’s eyes laid on her again.
“Well, it’s not like you have to listen to me,” Nova retorted, looking down. “I’m just here for suggestions.”
She nearly jumped when the couch shifted with the weight of Captain Chromium settling into it, creating a barrier between her and Adrian. Simon caught her eye as he sat down as well, although in the armchair beside the couch; his look was sympathetic. Nova tried to hide her blush.
“You see, the key to narrowing it down…” Hugh went off onto a lecture on house hunting, going full out and using his hands for emphasis. Nova watched as Adrian nodded along, clearly uncomfortable, compared to not twenty minutes before when they were snuggled up together.
“Well, I guess I should be going.” Nova stood to leave, only for Hugh to push her back down. She had to restrain from glaring at him. She was already on thin ice with this man.
“This is important for you to hear as well, Nova. You may learn a thing or two.”
The smug look Adrian gave her almost made her throw a pillow at his face, just to wipe away the smile.

Welcome to my opinions on the level of girlboss of all of the Renegades characters vs the level of how much I want to hang out with them
Evander: girlboss and all the way at the end of do not interact with bc I fucking hate him
Hugh: girlboss and almost all the way at the end of do not interact. He annoys me but can’t be as bad as Evander
Ace: same thing as Hugh. He’s annoying and pretentious but in the opposite of Hugh. I think Hugh and Ace could have been lovers in a past life don’t quote me on this but they’re the same person different fonts and don’t say they have a different morals bc they don’t both are for killing children and using them as weapons and soldiers
Phobia: 1000 percent a girboss but a fourth into would hang out with because I want to learn about how he got his whole goth aesthetic for personal reasons
Honey: exact same thing as phobia but a little more hang out with. I would like to learn from both of them and would force her and phobia to be my mentors. Also she’s an icon and there’s a reason I named my blog after her but unfortunately she does literally try to murder people in my age group so,,,, Her being a M*LF only partially neutralizes the war crimes
Simon: medium girlboss energy and im totally neutral on if I’d hang out with him or not. Idk man he’s not giving me much. He’s Hugh’s husband and does like the same things but he’s not annoying or pretentious and I think he’s just trying to vibe and do his job legitimately
Leroy: girlboss and I would 100 percent hang out with him he is an icon and his girlboss energy goes towards the right things like being a father figure for Nova. He’s possibly the best parental figure in the whole book series that’s alive I said what I said and I want him to teach me how to poison men and get away with it
Ingrid: Has no girlboss energy and don’t want to interact at all. I don’t think she’s a girlboss so much as she just enjoys chaos and commiting crimes but good for her idk i just don’t want to be near her
Kasumi: in the complete center of this grid she’s neutral on everything go girl give us nothing
Tamaya: 50 percent girlboss and totally neutral on hanging out. Nothing to support this just her energy.
Georgia: not a girlboss and would hang out with I think she gave good hugs and literally did the right thing despite any personal motives at stake so opposite of girlboss in my opinion
Tala: not a girlboss but also like girlboss undertones so I’m gonna place her in not girlboss and would like to hang out with I think that’s just her natural mom energy
David: not a girlboss and would like to hang out with but only 50 percent. Literally just some dude and was the one going against all the girlbosses he needs a break. He seems chill tho and was a good parent and husband.
Frostbite: 1000 percent a girlboss 1000 percent do not interact. We call her frostbitch for a reason but I do applaud the sheer audacity of her she’s so outrageous I’m impressed
Frostbites team: idk their names and I don’t care they’re basically the same but like a bit below they just follow her like drones
Millie: She’s definitely up there on the girlboss end of the spectrum but I don’t know if I’d hang out with her or not. She’s just sorta vibing and idk if it’s my vibe.
Callum: obviously I would hang out with him. He’s not a girlboss but has girlboss potential. His motives are pretty good but I feel like his powers and hopefullness and ability to be free therapy could potentially cause him to be a girlboss.
Turbo: 100 percent girlboss 50 percent hang out with hes an icon and the best character in the book and deserved more time in it. His biting is what makes him a girlboss but also what makes me only want to hang out with him partially my dog is the exact same way and while I love my puppy to pieces I can only handle so much of it a day and my dog is already filling up that slot.
Evie: 1000 a girlboss 1000 do not hang out with. I don’t want to hang out with a 11 year old girlboss even if I love her character and think she’s an icon I can’t take that emotional damage anymore some of us were bullied in middle school
Max: not a girlboss and would hang out with. Literally everyone uses him and he can’t catch a break someone help him he’s literally 10
Ruby: 12 percent girlboss energy and would like to hang out with she has motives but I don’t think it’s for any personal gain so much as doing what she believes is right and also she’s fun and she’s Ruby
Oscar: 10 percent girlboss and 1000 percent would hang out with he is an icon who’s doing his best to do the right thing and I just think he’s here for a good time and doesn’t know what’s going on bc no one ever tells him shit
Danna: 75 percent girlboss and would hang out with. She is a spy and an icon and we all know she’s a girlboss but also giving the gays everything
Narcissa: 30 percent girlboss 75 percent would hang out with. Technically she’s a girlboss but she doesn’t give me girlboss energy but I think I would vibe with her. Lesbian icon leave her alone she’s literally the only one with common sense and a decent moral compass
Adrian: 75 percent girlboss 75 percent would hang out with. He seems chill and is a girlboss but like bestie get therapy your letting your temper get a bit out of hand there bud. Also you have such a strong sense of justice but also like where is the thought process half the time I’m so sorry my dude you have all the pieces but none of the instructions he just needs a little help b it also is a girlboss let’s be honest he’s very motivated by his own goals tho he is open to reasoning and other views and is at least cautious in any lives lost bc of it
Nova: the ultimate girlboss and yes 1000 percent would hang out with she scares me but I’d make her a little hat and some brownies and it would be okay. She’s a legend. She’s a star. She can’t be out girlbossed. The lengths she goes to for her own goals is incredible and the audacity she has is fantastic she is everything and she is the main character for a reason. She learned from Leroy and then excelled beyond his wildest dreams give her an award for being a girlboss

Can I get a Kaider Headcanon please? It can be a lot of Fluff!!
Kaider headcanon for my fav kaider-centric blog coming up!!!
Kai wears reading glasses
Cinder doesn’t (she’s a cyborg u dummies) and loves to ‘hold’ them for him
Kai is in the middle of a important meeting, and has to get someone to find Cinder bc she stole his glasses.
And cinder, being cinder, turns off the tracker
So eventually Kai has to excuse himself and find her himself
He isn’t about to ignore her privacy and get a bunch of guards to rush in to wherever she is
Thats unfair on Cinder who is also doing important things.
More often then not, he just finds them next to her oils on her vanity
Oh did I not mention?
When Cinder offically moved into the palace, the mechanics bought her special Oils for National Cyborg Day
(which is the day after Cinder’s birthday, [the first annual national cyborg day was the day after her first birthday as lunar queen)]
Some cyborgs made this company “Oils by the Cys” which specializes in ‘skin’ oils for cyborgs
It’s specially made for different metals and types of of prosthetics
There are some to buff and keep the cyborg parts shiny
Others to keep the joints lubricated and to keep from sticking
Other’s for the area the skin and prosthetics overlap to keep them from chafing and getting irritated
The mechanics (who are either grisly old cyborgs, or the teen (also mostly cyborg) kids of the lower staff who wanted to learn mechanics) were ecstatic to get a cyborg empress
They were usually treated horribly since they were mostly cyborgs
But now the empress herself would come by with suggestions and just to talk
She even taught some of the cyborg teens how to properly treat your parts usable when they are old and keep the new scar tissue clean
(she obviously bought the ones new ones who needed them)

Sky
I’m back! My second fic ;)
Nodrian fluff, no spoilers (kinda? not really?)
It was not supposed to be like this what so ever but my fingers did what they did. (i’m not good at descriptions, i’m a dialogue girl) first draft and i don’t wanna clean it up
It’s PURE CRINGEY FLUFF DON”T JUDGE ME im a lonely bitch. no im supalonely. ugh cringe nooo why do i do this shit
Adrian loved the sky. It’s always different, but day after the day it’s always there. It’s weird but those clear sky days always made him a little bit uncomfortable. It’s like, ‘What the hell? Where are the clouds?’
On the days and nights Nova slept, often he would wake up early to draw. Usually her sleeping form (he got consent and she said he could whenever he wanted from then on) but a lot of times he would start to paint the sky. There was something almost therapeutic to him, painting the same landscape. He knew those trees and building corners by heart now. But Adrian never knew the colors the sky would be. Some evenings it turned purple and pink, other mornings it was a bright orange.

nodrian + 12
It’s 644 words, a lil longer sorry!
Nodrian - Star Gazing
A car door slammed shut, waking him up. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes he stretched his arms, and took a moment to make sense of his surroundings. Oh right, Nova surprising him. She said she wanted to take him to a pretty spot.
Apparently the ‘pretty spot’ was just a rest stop in the middle of the mountains. It seemed pretty normal, a gas station, picnic benches, and a small structure with bathrooms and vending machines. Pretty normal, and not at all scary in the middle of the night. Or whatever time it was.
“Nova?” he called out. Getting out of the car, he wondered what was up with her. The whole ride she just looked over and smiled. Well, the part that he has been awake for. Nova had planned a date, and at the end she said she had a surprise for him.
“Nova? Where are you?” he asked singsongly. He shuffled around the car looking for her. He was still a little bit disoriented.
Adrian walked around towards the trunk. Which was open. He peered in, just to see a very frazzled Nova trying to straighten a blanket over the folded down seats. It was already dark out, and just getting darker. Her main light source was a small flashlight, which was nestled in between two small bags.
Deciding to mess with her, he crouched down, trying to hide. Carefully he reached up, patting around trying to find the flashlight. Finding it, he carefully pulled it out.
“Excuse me,” a gentle voice came from above, followed by a sharp pinch to his forearm. “OW,” he screeched, falling on his butt.
“That’s what you get,” she calmly countered, jumping off the car, “Why didn’t you call me after you woke up?”
Still rubbing his arm, Adrian grumbled, “I tried.”
Smiling, she bent down and kissed the spot. Popping a hip out, she nodded her head up, gesturing for him to get up.
He stood and finally saw the trunk fully. She had folded the seats down, and covered the windows with a sheet. Pillows littered the area, with fluffy blankets piled around. In one corner, she had set up a small crate with drinks and snacks.
“I left the heater running for you,” she complained. Nova walked back up to the driver’s seat and fully turned off the car. It took his eyes a second to adjust, but after he did he noticed a few small fake candles around the edges. He didn’t realize it had gotten so late.
She hurried back, and laced her fingers in his.
“So do you like the view?” she asked. Looking down at her eager face, “Yes.” he gushed without missing a beat.
Rolling her eyes, she pushed him gently. “The sky? I thought you would like it.”
“What view-” she pulled him around and his jaw honest-to-god dropped.
She pulled up just barely up-against a cliff. Under which was a clear, sparkling lake. The moonlight danced over the gentle movement of the water. Trees surrounded the lake, the tallest of which faded away into the sky. The sky. It was a sea of navy blood, with pin-pricks of white light peeping through. He could see every single star, or at least he thought so. There was a streak of what looked like split milk off to the side. Some stars had a reddish tinge to them, others more yellow. There was just too much to look at. He couldn’t take it all in. Constant life, even though they were the only things there.
“I’ll guess that you like it?” she speculated.
He didn’t have any words for her. Adrian let her pull her in the car. He pried his eyes off the sight, and smiled at Nova.
Grabbing a pillow, he smacked her legs. “No shit,” he replied and ceded to Nova’s offense.
Well, that wasn’t exactly what I wanted but I’m a sucker for detailed descriptions. I’m pretty new to fanfics, so I hope you liked it! Btw, I have another fic kinda like this one, if you liked it. Here, but we warned it’s confusing and rambly. pls like/reblog yall!

Surprising Ruby
This is my first fic ever, so sorry if it’s not as amazing as the rest of y’all on here. A little Oscar/Ruby fluff.
No spoilers.
Exactly 500 words :)
Tightly tying up his shoes, Oscar smiled to himself. It was the anniversary of the Trials, the day Ruby and him became part of the Renegades. He was taking Ruby out to a fancy dinner, and was more than excited.
He dialed Ruby’s number, just making sure she was ready before he headed over to her place.
“Hey I’m about to leave. I just wanted to che-,” he stopped, hearing her start to hyperventilate, “Ruby?”
“Oscar, yeah, hey, I’m so sorry but I’m going to have to cancel. My grandma had an accident, she’s in the hospital, and I had to go to my family’s and watch the twins. I’m sorry I didn’t call you, so much is going on and I just can’t-” Ruby rambled.
Cutting her off before she started to get more upset he said, “Hey, no, it’s okay love really. I completely understand. Do you want me to come by? Bring you something?”
“No no, no, no um, I’m fine. I’m really so sorry I messed up our date! I know you spent time planning it. We’re a mess, stay home and I dunno, play something. I’m really really sorry?”
“I know, don’t stress. Tell the twins I say hi, okay?”
“Yea I will, thank you.”
“I didn’t even do anything,” he laughed, “Stay safe, bye” He ended the call and slid his phone in his pocket.
Kicking his shoes off, he wandered into the kitchen and opened the fridge.
I just want to help her.
He knows how much Ruby and her family love their grandma. They were probably freaking out.
Slamming the fridge shut, he leaned against the counter.
Why can’t I?
He turned around, started washing his hands, and got to work.
He started up Ruby’s old apartment. Oscar carried a backpack, filled with clothes, books, a vanilla spice candle (Ruby’s favorite), and a phone charger since she probably forgot hers.
In one hand he held takeout: chow mein - Sterling’s favorite, chicken tikka and butter chicken - Ruby and Jade’s favorite. In the other, he held a big tupperware of cookies. Technically it was Adrian’s tupperware, but no one’s counting.
He almost made it to the apartment, before he started having second thoughts. She did say to stay home. She probably doesn’t want to see me.
Right before he reached the doorway, the door swung open. A little blond head stuck out. “Oscar?” Jade asked, “What are you doing here?”
“Oh hey buddy. I just wanted to check in, drop some things off for you and your siblings.”
Jade rolled his eyes (apparently he was starting the teen phase) and gestured him inside.
He walked in, and immediately heard Ruby yell out, “Jade get your butt in here, we need to clean for when they get back! You said you’d help me-” She turned a corner to see Oscar just standing by the entryway.
Her mouth opened a little, the spray bottle and rag she was holding forgotten.
He chuckled, “Not even a hello?”
Again first fic ever. I would love a like or a reblog, that’ll make my day. If you have any tips or tricks on writing I would love any advice :) Actually tho, I know nothing about writing haha
Thanks for reading!

Danna?
Nobell Week 2020 Fic
Nobell, 278 words. I actually really like writing them, so I will write some more soon! Tell me if you want off or on the tag list! Super sappy, but i think it’s super cute too :)
“What?!” Nova shrieked.
“Doyoumaybewannagooutforacoffeedate?” she asked again, quieter and faster this time.
Nova just stared at the laptop. Did- did she just say that? She shook her head out and quietly prayed that this was real. Is this real? Ohmygod, please let this be real.
Did Danna Margherita Bell just ask her out?
“Lil’ sis can’t come to the phone right now, but she says yes,” said a voice from behind the sofa Nova was on. Startled, she whipped her head around towards her brother.
“Wait… really?” Danna ventured, “Nova”
She turned back but only stared dumbly. She couldn’t speak.
Danna Bell.
It took all her strength to not cry.
“It’s a yes Bee, she’s just in awe,” Adrian replied.
Danna Bell, just asked her out.
She asked.
With her own will?
She asked Nova?
Nova?
Stained sweatpants, glasses wearing, gross unwashed hair Nova?
Danna?
The model turned activist/social worker?
Danna, the girl who constantly stood up for Nova when she got bullied at school. Danna, who always knew when she just wanted a hug, no words. Danna, who always jumped to help people, to take the bullet. Danna, the girl who held her hand on the playground after the wretched day, and for many days after that.
Danna Bell.
Nova finally came to her senses, and actually looked at Danna. Even with a slight crinkle in-between her eyebrows and a light frown to her face she was still that gorgeous girl she fell in love with in high school. Smiling, Nova shook her head, holding the tears back.
“Yes,” she mouthed.
Danna smiled.
Nova couldn’t breathe, seeing that.
Oh well, I guess she’ll never breathe again.
Xx
