nimona the webcomic and nimona the netflix movie are so thematically different and come from such different periods in the artist's (nd stevenson) life and our lives and I love that?? I love the bitterness and angst and how morally gray the graphic novel was, just as much as I love the hopefulness and compassion and how unapologetically trans the netflix film is. watching his work grow as he grew older and I grew older and more secure in my sexuality, is just - so special. it's a rare thing to grow in parallel with the work of an artist you love, especially a queer artist, and I'm so fucking happy this film got made, especially with all its differences to the original work. something something to be loved is to be changed idk lmao.

I’d like to think that Caduceus still makes a grave for Molly. Because Molly is dead. He’s gone, Caduceus knows this. And his friends deserve to mourn that.
They avoid the grave at first. They’re weird about it. But surprisingly, Beau’s the first to break. She brings a bottle of liquor, the strong stuff, sits down on the gravestone itself and gets dead drunk, ranting and raving about what a dick Dairon can be, about how she hates working a fucking nine to five, how Molly would rip her apart for it if he ever saw her in uniform. Caduceus doesn’t watch her, but he comes and gets her when the sun goes down. Brings her inside, gives her a bed. She doesn’t explain herself in the morning. She doesn’t have to.
The others trickle in slowly. Caleb visits the most frequently, teleporting over the grave itself and doing his work there some days. Essek accompanies him on occasion. He never says anything, save for a quiet thank you before he turns to leave. Veth tells him about the kids at camp, which ones he’d love and which one’s he’d want to throw into the lake. Fjord and Jester don’t get to make many visits, what with all their travelling, but their’s are the most lively. They treat it like a picnic, bickering and bantering and trading off the role of narrator as they regale their latest adventures. Yasha always visits with flowers, sitting by the grave for hours, telling Molly about every bit of her life since the last time she saw him. He was the talker between them, but he always loved to listen to her quiet stories.
It takes a long time for Kingsley to visit. He shows up with a handful of slightly wilted flowers in one hand, the other shoved in his pocket, not quite looking at Kingsley. He’s silent as Caduceus leads him to the gravestone. Stays silent for a while longer.
Eventually, he talks. Well, he complains. About the horn piercings, because Kingsley finds the rattling of the piercings annoying but it looks weird without them in. About the size and garishness of Molly’s tattoos, the literal fucking peacock that stretches all the way up to his face. About all the scars on his chest, which is a seriously dumb place to cut yourself repeatedly, seriously man, just use your finger or something, what if your hand slipped and you hit vitals, isn’t that how you died in the first place?
Eventually, he comes back into the house. Apologizes, a little sheepish, for being immature. Confesses that he wasn’t sure what do to do, but Jester and Fjord insisted that he visited and he hadn’t been planning on saying anything but he got there and it all just spilled out and Gods, now he’s embarrassed—
And Caduceus, who’s grown up in this grove, with brothers and sisters and all the atrocities that they have to offer, just laughs, long and loud, and says, “Well, I mean. That’s just kind of how siblings are.”

I don't know what I expected from Bell's Hells meeting Vox Machina but it certainly was not the beautiful irony of Ashton talking to Percy about the people he's lost in his life and Percy giving them tips on anger management.

You know what I love so much about Orym? How beautifully understated he is in everything. How quiet he is, how he always defers the lead and the final decision to others, and how, in the end, he is just... a man (halfling) with a sword and a shield. Inbetween this group of characters, Orym is - what many even expressed as criticism about his character - boring, too lawful, too... adherent to morals. As Ashton says, he is not the powder keg, he is the sane one; as FCG says, he is too nice of a guy, etc. He has a shield and a sword and he druidcrafts flowers for Dorian to encourage him (and *cough* express his love) and for Ashton to stop his bleeding and calm him down after the psychic session with Imogen and FCG. He doesn't have magic; he doesn't have telepathy or telekinesis and powers of healing; he can't teleport, he can't fly, he can't transform into another form to help himself (or others) out. He just has what he has learned and trained for since his childhood, and his resolute discipline in keeping up his physical strength and skills through daily training (which Liam integrates so pointedly into his roleplay of Orym).
But the more we see of him, the more it becomes obvious that this is what makes him so brilliant as a character: the simplicity and yet the complexity; the oh-so relatable doubts he harbours for himself, the absolute humanity in his moments of panic and weakness and how he isn't afraid to show when he is in pain and physically hurting; the even greater humanity in his mourning of Will and Derrig and in preserving their memory and honouring their sacrifice, but also the strength he takes from it; his awkwardness in certain social situations, his dry & rare humour - but when he has fun, when he smiles, it is as if the sun is rising; and the clarity he has concerning the group, the devotion to them, his friendship and trust and loyality, and yet, how he keeps them accountable; not just himself, but all of them around him - that they have to stand together, what they have to do, and how strong his moral compass is in steering them ahead through all those terrible things.
The more we witness, the more Orym overflows with his immense courage. He is this small protector, easily overlooked in a crowd, who subjects his life in the service of all those he loves, and with this, he isn't small, he stands so tall with his fortitude. He baits and he goads death and stares in its face unflinching. He attacked Otohan Thull - with nothing but his sword and shield and skill - and drew her ire without batting an eye, and now he got a massive scar straight across his sternum for it; he actually died for it, and we know Orym - we know he'd do it again at once if it would mean saving his friends or even just getting his friends some more time to save themselves. The more we see of his actions, the more the others turn and even seek out Orym for leadership and guidance in moments of turmoil even if he says, again and again, that he isn't a leader. And Orym, in turn, encourages the group around him, in particular their individual strengths, supports them and in everything he does, he gives, he gives, he gives, and he gives, above all, his wonderful kindness and his undiluted, unapologetic love.
And this is everything but boring to me.

You killed her, Matt, least you could do is let her play Kiki for now!
(honestly it is kinda sweet that he's giving her new life tho, and it also makes it easier for new fans bc the campaigns are more stand alone that way)

Ok theory time! In e31, Delilah says that she goes away if Laudna dies, right? Fast forward to e34, Laudna is dead, Imogen tries to contact Delilah with sending and it works, so she can't be gone. Add that to the fact that Matt said that FCG could feel some kind of process being interrupted when they cast gentle repose on Laudna (I don't think that was just the decomposing, this definitely sounded like more).
All of that makes me think that, no matter if they manage to bring Laudna back or not, Delilah is not gonna let her go that easily and that's not gonna be the last we've heard from her.

The fact that Sam always plays these loud, cheery characters makes it really hit different when he gets quiet and emotional. The first time that really struck me was with Loquatius' speech in ep 4 when he was talking about Laerynn, and now it's FCG malfunctioning due to all the negative feelings they're repressing... Only this one hits even harder bc that's definitely a problem I struggle with as well, and that feeling of dissociation that comes from that is really familiar.
I guess what I wanna say is well done, Sam Riegel, you're making me cry a lot these days
