Ayato - Kiss The Bride
Word count: 1.2K
Genre: Angst
A/n: I am not bothered to change up the entire vibe of this one shot anymore :)
----------------------------------------------------
The Kamisato Clan and the L/n Clan have long been enemies. It dates back to the beginning of the clans where they just, simply didn't like one another. Just one look in the street and a fight would break out in public with no shame and anyone who spoke of their incident would immediately get their tongue sliced off. Now, days have changed, but still the clans were still enemies. Generation after generation, a person would lead a Clan, which then leads to today.
You, who's Y/n L/n, leader of the L/n Clan, has fallen on her knees before the leader of the Kamisato Clan, Ayato.
He's such a busy man, as always. His eyes are always stuck to the paperwork, and his hands were never empty unless events were on play in Inazuma. It makes it difficult to make room to play with somebody. However, you made it possible by annoying him wherever he went. Despite families being enemies, you shamelessly present your love for him.
"I love him so much, I want to marry him!" With hands clasped together, dreaming about the future that he knew would never happen.
The two clans never worried about it because Ayato always ignores her admirable gifts and affection, since they knew he wouldn't take action.
He walks through the hallway with a pack of finished workplaces in hand to give to his father, while an annoying hamster follows him. "What are you up to now?" He said sarcastically.
You giggled, "just a secret!"
He rolled his eyes and continued walking forward in silence, gifting his father the pages before bowing and leaving with the hamster. The silence was louder than he expected. You would normally have presented a weird prank on him by now, but no, not yet.
"Ayato."
He continues walking without batting an eye.
"Ayato! Look at me!"
He turns around and looked down to watch your squirming figure. "What is it?"
"Um, I have a gift for you. I hope you like it!" You took the gift out from your back and gave it to him like a letter of confession. Boeing down, straight arms to hand the special gift. To his surprise, there was a love letter ontop of the neatly wrapped box. He didn't dare ask about it, because he knew what was up. After years of trying to get to him, you finally attempt to confess. "Thanks."
"Also I want to say something."
Here it comes.
He prepared for his lines ever since, so he knew what to say in response. The harshest one possible to keep her away from him.
"Go on."
With a little bit of confidence, she breathed and said it. "I, I'm actually in love with you. I have loved you ever since I met you and-!"
"Look, I'm not interested. You wasted four years of your life trying to get me to marry you, but it will all be for nothing. You're the Clan leader of L/n, right? Why do you try so hard when you know that our families are enemies?"
You flinched hard while still looking up at him with pitiful eyes. "Be, because love could never break no matter the obstacles."
He refused to say anything rude up to this point, yet he still did. "Who taught you that? Nobody in my Clan ever taught me, is that what your Clan thinks in their heads? Just delusional romance?"
No words came out of your mouth and it made Ayato satisfied with your response. Nothing. It felt like he shook your heart too much, and it would be enough for you to avoid him.
He scoffs and turns his back on you, "Now leave me be."
But, no. You didn't stop there. Even after getting rejected, you continue to nag him. You were your usual self. Always hugging his arm, telling him that you will always love him no matter what, even if the universe one day explodes, he would be forever in your heart. You were still the cheerful, most beautiful, most interesting person even after the heart clenching reply he made. Confused, he slightly got irritated.
In the middle of the night, you were reading a book beside him who was doing his paperwork as usual. He felt the depressing aura that came off of you, but didn't ask about it. He never felt concerned.
"Hey, Ayato."
"Hm?"
"Do you really... not love me at all?"
He glanced at you and stopped writing. "No, I really don't. It's up to the point that I don't even wish to marry you. I'd rather get wed to somebody else."
You flinched again and bit your lip. That, that line struck a chord in your heart, and he did it purposely knowing full well that it would hurt you. It shattered you completely. You knew he wasn't always so cold to you. There were times when he was nice, there were times where he would return your gifts with bouquets and kiss your forehead good night. You thought that he had the same feelings as you, but now something was telling you that it were all fake.
You gently closed the book and looked at him straight in the eye. You wanted to get a final answer. "Really? Nothing?"
"None. Nothing about you makes my heart beat, because you're a L/n."
Your eyebrows furrowed slightly, indicating that it was your last straw.
You slammed the table and got up quietly. Putting your slippers on and leaving without taking another look. Perhaps he shouldn't have gone too far. He didn't want you to leave but, due to family restrictions, he couldn't make you stay.
He grabbed his pen again and continued writing. This time, he wrote on the corner of a page the shape of a heart shattering into different pieces.
A week later, his surroundings becaome from quiet to whispers. A talk about the girl who used to love Ayato was now getting wed to another man named Hiro, the Sakura Clan's leader. From what he heard, anybody can join the wedding without needing invitations.
He rejected her and yet...
...Now he sees her with another man linking with her arm. Something broke inside of him. The way she acts in a stiff manner, the way her personality seemed fake, and how her eyes doesn't seem to twinkle when she looks at him. It was all fake. She doesn't love him.
Something just broke.
His eyes widened in shock, fist clenching and trembling in anger at how this man just stole the love of his life. If there were no rules to abide and he could love her freely, this wouldn't have happened. He could have changed the relationship the Clans have and this... personality that didn't even look like yours.
You noticed the tall figure hiding behind a pillar. You knew right away that it was Ayato. It simply hurt looking at him like that. Confused and mad, frustrated, even. No, no, you- he doesn't love you. You know that. Because you're a L/n, you can't love him.
You looked back at Hiro. "I do."
"You may now kiss the bride!"

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚 - 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂?
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐒𝐓𝐓𝐓𝐓𝐓𝐓 (it probably won't make you cry)
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 𝟏.𝟑𝐊
𝐀/𝐧: 𝐆𝐨𝐝, 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐭-
---------------------------------------------------
You knew that for generations and generations, the hanahaki disease flows strongly in your genes. Every one of your family members has had it, some died, and some lived. You were no exception, and you were next. However, you weren't expecting it to happen so soon, as now was the time you watch blood and flowers leave your throat in horror. The single moment that you were in doubt that this man you fell in love with were to never return your feelings, the flowers began to fall.
Thoma. Oh, Thoma.
He's the light of your life. He showed no malice and continued to be kind. That's the part of him that you loved most. How much he cared about animals and about other people. Seriously, he should receive more credit for working so hard.
Currently, it's spring. So you and Thoma decided to take a walk under the cherry blossoms. The petals glowed pink, and they quickly fall, just like how your hanahaki disease works. The moment doubt nibbled onto your skin, it continues to eat you up until there was nothing left. Hanahaki gets their dessert even though you never put your life at risk for this.
Suddenly, you started coughing, resulting it letting out petals and blood. Oh no, Thoma began to worry.
"Y/n! Oh dear, are you sick? Are you alright? Do you want me to fetch a doctor?" He inspected you thoroughly. Your expression, the way you awkwardly motion your hands, the way you avoided his eyes. He noticed it. "Should I carry you home? I mean, if you prefer that, then-!"
"No, I'm alright! My throat just itched, that's all."
Of course, you knew him well. An excuse like that could never convince a house husband, a man who carries for other people's wellbeing when he should be caring about his. Due to this, knowing that you were simply nothing but another friend of his made your condition even worse. You had to lock yourself up in your room, cooped up with no assistance. You avoided help at all costs. Thoma bangs on the front door to catch your attention, but you ignore his whimpers as he walks away. Itto, Ayaka, Ayato, Gorou, Sara, Heizou... all were ignored.
Continuously throwing up petals and crimson blood, suffering all alone. You know the cure. Either get yourself to be his or completely wash away all of your memories with him. You had no choice, you still had to confess. If you chose the second decision, you would have to explain to him your situation. He would feel that he was responsible for your disease and do everything he can for you to live, even if it meant to force himself to be with you.
No, you don't want that.
For the third time of the day, you heard a knock from outside of your door, making you flinch in your spot. This time, you decided to listen to the voice.
"Hey, Y/n." It's mom.
"You have it, don't you? The disease that all of us share."
Yeah, I do.
"I've heard from your friends that they couldn't contact you. They have tried to visit you numerous times before and yet you haven't responded." Your mother went quiet for a second to collect her thoughts, then breathed in preparing her speech. "Look, if you're not going to open this door, I'll have you listen to me from where you're sitting right now. I know that things are difficult, I went through it all. I suffered for a month, just like you and I was nearly about to die, but see, I found your dad. I lost my feelings for him while I converse with your dad to talk about things."
And? Your point?
"There's many more ways to lift yourself back up. If you can't get over this man...." she breathed in and out.
"...then check whether it's true that he truly doesn't love you. If not, your second choice is worth considering. Well then, I'll see you soon."
You stared at the ground, hearing the same conversation over and over, repeatedly in your head. Of course, how could you be so stupid? Your delusions that you didn't have a chance with Thoma was because your brain had just decided it never existed. Why not confirm it? You shouldn't be covering yourself in the dark like this. You have to find out.
Steadily and carefully standing up from the ground, your feet shook as you made your way to your closet and searched for some outdoor clothes. "Now that I think about it, yesterday, Thoma said that he's going to celebrate his birthday today with our friends. It should be an hour from now."
It hurts.
Your throat is burning.
"If you ever feel like looking over to this side," Thoma brushed his fingers gently, down the door. "You should come to my birthday party. It would be at six o'clock."
You pulled out your kimono, lacking any unique design. You didn't want attention to be all on you. Although it has been three weeks since you left the house, surely eyes would fall on you despite what you wear wasn't really pretty. Still, you need to hide your face. Put on a face mask and leave the house.
You wore your Japanese sandals and walked your way to Ayaka and Ayato's residence. It was a bit far, but you wanted to go anyway.
Once you arrived, you saw everybody outside, already chatting with each other until they saw you. Everything went quiet. Of course, no doubt, they would be surprised with your condition. You don't know how different you looked since three weeks ago. Probably horrible since you weren't able to sleep in days.
"Oh," Thoma quivered. "Y/n! You made it to the party!"
He stood up and rushed to wrap his arms around you. Seriously, meeting him was your medicine to your disease. It felt enough to recover from this curse.
"Ah, hi Thoma. Sorry, I forgot to bring a present." A sweat drop rolled down your cheek as you rubbed the back of your neck. It was a motion that indicated you felt uncomfortable. By the way Hezou looked at you, he didn't miss that expression your face. Though you covered half of it.
All the adults, including you, raised their glass and gulped down alcohol. Eating a feast, laughing and playing games. It had been a while since you felt this happiness filling up your emptiness, but, who's that woman beside Thoma?
"Everyone! I have an announcement to make!"
He pulled this unknown woman near him, shoulders touching with the biggest grin written across his face. Before you knew it, he kissed her on the lips. "She's now my girlfriend!"
Everybody cheered and clapped. The girl seem to be embarrassed to show her face in front of Thoma's friends, hiding behind him, but he reassured her that nothing was to scare her by holding her hand tightly. He sees her differently compared to you, the weakling.
Heizou continues to watch as you tighten your fists underneath the table, yet keeping up a stiff face. "Congratulations."
A few minutes later, you ran to the back of the house to vomit flowers and blood as tears started to roll down your face. Truly, even in the worst of times, these flowers seem to bloom properly inside your body. They look pretty once you let it all out.
You shakily sighed. "Mother, there's, there's no point."
You wiped your lips with the back of your hand and looked up at the big bright moon. It was looking down at you as if it was waiting for this moment, your decision that changes your fate.
"I hate this. Gosh, I, I hate this so, so much."
You covered your face with your palms, letting all your feelings out. "I am so sorry, Thoma. I am very sorry."
"Y/n! Oh, it has been a while since we talked! How are you feeling? Do you feel any better?" Thoma, alongside with his girlfriend, watched your unmoving back. You stood there like a statue, before turning around with a confused face.
"Who are you?"

Venti x reader -  𝗢𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘆
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: 𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗳𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1.1𝗞
A/N: I'm not exactly proud of this one </3
Tumblr media
Ever since Venti, or Barbatos you should call, has become the Anemo Archon, you two have been close friends. You follow around the bard, and you figured this out yourself but, he enjoys quiet places. Such like the Whispering Woods or Starsnatch Cliff. He would play his lyre and sing his heart out with poetic lyrics. There was not one piece that belonged to him you despise. Expect one he does that you makes your blood boil to the core.
"Venti!" You slammed the door to Angel share, causing the crowd to zip up their mouths. However Venti stayed loud. Luckily, he was easy to spot amongst humans who dressed unlike him. "You-! Come here! You drank too much already!"
You saw him flirting with women. He delicately touched her naked shoulder and down to her arm to suggest his mature motive. It made you clench your fist even tighter, then pulled him off the girl. "Did you not hear me? I said you're drinking too much!"
"Then let me drink some more!~" he giggled, hiccuping while he held tightly on his beer, struggling to stand up off the floor. "Want to join me?"
You rolled your eyes and groaned, shaking your head and instead of letting him lie dead there until morning, you dragged him out as he whined and cried. Before you left however, you had to apologise to Diluc standing behind the counter. As a response, he just nodded and continued wiping the moist glasses.
Mondstadt was quiet during night time, the only thing breaking the silence was your loud, heavy and angry steps, returning to your abode with the drunk man dragged along the rocky ground. Was he really a God?
"Y/n!~ please, I want to go back!" He wiggled his arms around the air, being unable to walk, and attempted to lightly hit you but, you kept a safe distance incase he had turned violent. "Please? Let me go, please? I beg you!"
You let out an irritated sigh, "then answer this, why do you always drink?"
"Because alcohol tastes good!"
"No, come with me to my house."
"Oh my, my body is not ready yet!" He hugged himself in an attempt to hide his body. As if there was anything to hide. His feelings were clearly out in the open for everybody to see. His body was well covered with clothes but, except for his Archon uniform. He hit different wearing those clothes.
An irk mark appeared on your head, and you only walked faster to go back to your house. Finally, you threw him on the living room couch and prepared a glass of water, hoping to the Archons that he would sober up a little and have an understanding of his inappropriate acts while drunk. "Here, drink up."
He pouts, but ends up drinking the whole thing anyway. Sometimes you'd convince him that he was chugging down vodka, but no, of course not. You knew it was just water. He's too drunk to realise that. He's unaware of your romantic feelings for him as well. Every little flirtatious interaction with other females gets you to feel jealous. You hated that, perhaps he knew that you liked him and he's found an opportunity to end your feelings for him just by being more with other girls.
"It tastes weird... Is it water!? Did you give me water?" He said.
You carried him bridal style and walked to the guest bedroom. Signaling that he was going to sleep there by himself and stuck your tongue out as a response. "It always has been."
He sulked again, crossing his arms as you gently laid him on the bed. For fucks sake, he was heavy as hell despite his size. Do all gods feel heavy? Maybe you could travel around the world just to check their weight. There's no such device as a weight check device, unless Fontaine created one.... Wait! No, back to the topic at hand.
"Ugh, no now I'm tired. Why do you always steal me away from the Tavern?" He asked with pure curiosity. His face was red, he reeks of alcohol.
You slammed a huge bottle of water by his side of the bed, then sat down on a chair that rested next to him. "It's bad for your body if you drink alcohol daily."
You took the blanket and laid it over his body, and gently patting it. Your face was cold the entire time you helped him this night, and he couldn't help but stare at you. He never noticed how much you cared about him until now since he thought you were preventing him from having fun, but now that you answered his question, it sort of tickled his heart.
He wrapped his arms around your waist and hummed with eyes closed. "You care so much about me! Do you like me or something?"
You flinched, diverting your gaze away from the man himself. Your first love. Brushing his arms off you, you left him wondering if you really do have feelings for him while humming in response. Was it? It was neither a yes or no. It wasn't a confession at all.
Your actions snapped him awake. The only thing he could see were your reddened ears. He could only assume...
"Wait, do you actually?"
"Just go to bed."
You closed the door shut behind you before going to your room, when you heard the door slam behind you. You whipped your head around to see Venti, well Barbatos, blushing ear to ear. His eyes were sparkling and his smile was wide. "I like you too! No, I love you!"
He ran to you and hugged you again. Your face was heating up again. Gosh, what should you do? Should you deny it? "Come on, Venti... Let go. You're drunk, just rest."
"No. Do you like me too?"
Unavoidable gaze. He has it, and you couldn't ignore it. You were hesitant, but you returned his hug and nuzzled your face in his neck. "For a long while now." But can he be yours? Although he says that he likes you now, there were still girls who he flirted with.
"Me too. I love you too." He patted your head. "Were you jealous of them?"
You nodded.
He smiled. "We're all friends. They think I'm a girl."
You chuckled, "I can see why they'd think that."
"Maybe I should have a change of appearance?" Venti sighed, sulking. Oh how it feels to be in his shoes. To look like a girl yet can't be identified if truly male.
"No." You pushed yourself away from him and cupped his warm, red cheeks. Staring at him in the eye with a loving look. "You're mine now. I'm the only one you need to impress."

Albedo x reader - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲
𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝘁/𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁: 2.2𝗞
Tumblr media
You are a mortal commoner, capable of fighting off hilichurls, but not strong enough to defeat an abyss mage. Without a vision, you were able to venture out of Mondstadt and went to deserted places, areas where no monster would be sighted. One of those places were Falcon Coast. Near the ocean, where there's an underpopulation of monsters.
You often go there to walk or collect shells. Sometimes even playing with Jill and Will while Mack watches over the children's safety, but you never thought that there would come a day that you would see the prince in the area.
You were just walking by the beach in Falcon Coast as usual, however today you didn't see the figures that belonged to Jill, Will and Mack. You just shrugged. As long as Mack was there, you didn't need to worry about the children's safety. You should worry about yours first.
A mitachurl, who's axe was burning fire jumped from behind you and readied himself to attack. He had his axe in the air, pointing the sharpest part towards your head and yells that caught your attention. Quickly, you turned to dodge his attack and immediately strike him down with the knife that you hid. If it weren't enough, you were going to end the mitachurl, but it ran away for dear life.
You huffed. "coward."
"Impressive performance." A person started clapping their hands as they walked closer to you who just ended a 'performance' as this person said. Personally, you wouldn't even call it a performance when you only had one chance to dig a knife in its skin.
You turned around, harshly flinching when you saw his high quality clothing, his silver hair tied in a braided half ponytail. He was no ordinary man, you could tell at first glance. He looked like of high importance. If he was just watching you, why didn't he help? "Greetings. I'm afraid to ask but, who might you be?"
"I'm Albedo, first prince of Dragonspine. Pleased to meet you." A smile formed on his face.
Swiftly, you bowed at a ninety degree angle to show your respect for the prince. "Apologies, I did not realise sooner. What might your business be here in Falcon Coast?" You eyed him up and down, then beyond him to search for his knights and transport but, as one can describe, it was empty.
He let out a gentle laugh from between his lips and said, "No need to be so formal. I am merely here for a walk."
You were hesitant to be informal towards a prince. You were used to highly praising those with title and wealth, while he was the first to ask you to chat with him casually. It was difficult, but you ended up doing as he said. "You came here all the way from Dragonspine? Falcon Coast must be golden to you."
"It is." he sent you an even brighter smile, and gesturing you to follow him on his walk. "How about you? I often see you walk around the area. What is your purpose here?"
A sweat drop rolled down as you scratched your cheek with a nervous laugh. You walk along side him. "I come here for the same reason as you, your highness. Ah, I almost forgot. My name is Y/n."
"I see. Then this place must be golden to you too." He breathed. "By the way, I just wanted to add, Y/n, that you don't have to call me 'your highness'. Call me Albedo. Think of me as your friend."
It didn't even cross your mind that you two would become real friends. The both of you often meet up in Falcon Coast, walking together and chit-chatting away about the differences between commoners and of highly praised prince, including the experience of being born as how they are in Teyvat.
The more you knew about him, the more you figured that he wasn't like those princes in fairytales. The ones who would come to rescue the princess, the ones who would kiss their sleeping lover to awaken, and those who would sacrifice themselves to end up with their partner. He held no understanding of love. As he explained that he's only a synthetic human as well as a scientist.
"So far, love has been the biggest projects and one of the largest mysteries that I own and wonder." Albedo looked down on the water that tickled his naked feet while you continue to observe his lips that move to speak. "It is difficult to distinguish between platonic and romantic love. However, Sucrose seems to understand. She explained it to me, but it did not answer my puzzle."
"I can sense the difficulties you have." You sighed while looking up the clear, sapphire sky. "How many attempts did you make during your biggest project?"
"Lots." he gave a simple answer and continued. "Sucrose became my experiment, and yet I still couldn't understand. Would you be willing to be my subject? I assure you that you will be safe throughout the entire plan."
You directed your gaze to his green eyes. A gentle smile exposed itself on your lips as you nodded, agreeing to take part of his activity. You didn't think that you were going to hold hands, hug and kiss like romantic partners do. However it happened in real life. In Dragonspine where his camp resides, you acted like lovers.
He had his pen and paper out on the table, sitting on his desk, then looked at you. "Alright, are you prepared?" This time, he wasn't wearing his fancy, wealthy prince-like clothing. He was wearing a fashionable white robe over a fashionable blue collar shirt. You were wearing one of his winter clothes which he offered.
You nodded. "Yep! I'm ready."
He extended his arm, reaching for your hands. Gently, he entertwined his fingers with yours. Even with this interaction, he didn't feel anything out of ordinary but your heart was responding to it. It was fast. You hoped to Archons that he can't hear a single beat that emit from your chest. "Do you feel any different, Albedo?"
He shook his head, disappointed. "No. I really don't feel anything. Maybe we should try a different method that could work. Try and... talk to me sweetly."
"Swee-" you choked. Was he serious? Well, on second thought, he might be serious. It's an experiment that he wanted to come to a conclusion on for a long time. Although you highly didn't want to speak to him romantically, you suppose that you could do it for his sake.
You shakily breath in and out. The thought already makes your face heat up and hands sweat. Oh, you hope that he didn't mind. Your eyes steadily removed from eye contact with him and stuttered out the words, "your hands... they fit well with mine. Maybe we are destined to be together."
His jaw slightly dropped. It was unnoticeable but, he flinched. His heart quietly skipped a beat just by looking at your embarrassed expression right now. He felt a small, tiny, perhaps love? He wasn't so sure anymore, but now he got a reaction.
He detached his hands from yours and began writing down the results on the piece of paper. He was speechless, without an opinion to say. It was irritating you, really. You wanted him to say a word, at least something. It was embarrassing to say those things to a prince, let alone to a friend.
"Are we... done?" You asked.
"No."
Really?
Once he was finished with what he was writing, he stood up from his seat and started walking towards you. It was menacing, almost threatening of the way the distance between you two continued getting shorter and shorter. Until the tip of his foot almost touched with yours. Then, he wrapped his arms around your body. The act of hugging another was his next attempt. Though he has done it dozens of times with Sucrose, he couldn't get a reaction out of himself, but he was seeing the affect on you when he nuzzled his face in your neck. "Are you, perhaps enjoying this experiment?"
He talked like a whisper and it vibrated your skin. There was no space between you two. He was heavily relaxed under your touch while you felt tense. Why though? He's your friend and there was no need to be so alert. "I'm, I'm not enjoying... this - well, it's an, it's an experiment!"
He sighed and chuckled. "From my previous attempts, I have discovered that one party tends to lie when embarrassed during such a situation. Are you?"
You also sighed, leaving cold air from your slightly open mouth. Then slowly dragged your arms up to return Albedo's hug, causing another reply from the boy's chest. "I might be lying, or I might be telling the truth."
He pulled away from you and coughed into his fist, announcing that it was the end of the experiment. You thought that there would be extended hours of doing, this... clearly, you were wrong. Although you did spend daily in his camp, continuing his research. Everyday, just affection and sweet talks, including dates in Mondstadt. There's no questioning why the rumours of you and Albedo's relationship spread like haywire. Drinking out of the same cup, sleeping on the same bed, cuddling up together while watching a late night movie... it's not what friends do anymore.
They were all just experiments, so why, why Archons, did you develop these feelings for him? Even way before the experiments, your affection towards him started shedding light. You wanted to hide it, pressure it down the abyss, but... it continued to grow that it was out of your control to cover.
"I want to have an attempt at this one." Albedo walked to you. You were peacefully reading a book on the bed, and your face started visibly getting more crimson when he mentioned a new experiment. Oh, what could that be?
He crouched down in front of you, locking eyes. He was silent. He wasn't giving any information on the experiment details, so you were left confuddled. Then, he spoke words. Words of love.
"I, I love you."
Your breath hitched. Now you looked like a tomato, but what cooled your temperature was reality. Albedo didn't mean those words, they were just for experiment to get a reaction out of him. To feel what real love felt like. Gosh, it hurts. It felt like he was playing with your feelings, in fact you were just a subject.
This pain felt like it was wrapped with harmful needles. Say, what would Albedo call this emotion if he were to experiment on it? You knew the name of it, but what would he call it?
You looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows, rolling the painful four words out of your mouth. "I love you too."
Albedo didn't leave a drop of his feelings with his confession, but you poured everything out with yours.
"Y/n..." The prince put forth his hand and gently caressed your soft, reddened cheeks. Your hands were usually icy, but your face was on fire. "Why are you crying?"
Tears continuously ran down. You couldn't prevent them from falling at all, even if you tried. The whimpers and whines didn't hold back either. You didn't have control over this emotion.
"I'm, I'm crying because - " You sniffed. "I really, really do love you! I love you so much! Knowing that you don't feel the same makes me so, upset..."
He fell silent once again and only your tears echoed in the camp. The fire was playing in the distance, emitting crackling noise, but you were his focus. Not the fire, no other. You're the only one he understands this very moment. Of course you would feel this way. In the first place, he told you that you were a subject for this experiment. These acts of romance must have affected you badly.
"I apologise." He put both of his hands on your cheeks, cupping them. "I didn't mean to make you feel upset, but I may have something that will end your tears."
He caught your gaze, good. This gentle smile of his returned on his face. The one he greeted you with the first time you met him in Falcon Coast. "Ever since I met you, there was this feeling within my chest that lingered, and it bothered me."
"It piqued my interest, and I wanted to learn more about you so I could understand my emotions, but I never knew I'd feel this way."
"What, what do you mean?" You whispered, only for him and his ears alone to hear.
His smile became more gentle, then went in for a peck of kiss on your cold cheeks. Which took effect when your cheeks returned to crimson. You were a tomato again. The face that he oh, so genuinely loves. "I also love you, truly. I discovered that long ago, but I didn't want to tell you because I don't desire to return to our normal friendship."
A smile cracked up your lips, then a chuckle turning into a burst of laughter. Your tears dried up thanks to his truthful confession. "You really are a horrible prince."
"Of course."
Albedo was not the type of prince in a fairytale. The ones who would rescue the princess, the ones who would kiss their sleeping lover to awaken, and those who sacrifice themselves for their partner. He would put a test subject in an experiment and end up blossoming love for one another.
