Whenever I think of garashir in domestic situations I can’t get Julian out of Garak’s lap. Like to me he’s just always perched there, sitting pretty with a cup of tea and playing with Garak’s hair. Garak is explaining a new trade agreement that he isn’t a fan of cause the people in charge are known to be a little shady, and Julian is humming in agreement like he’s paying attention but hes mostly just listening to the rumbling tenor tone of his husbands voice while he thinks about their next available vacation days.

AUGHHHHH HELLO (fairly) NEW MUTUAL. oh good god social anxiety!! but AHHHHH HELLLOO i am absolutely in love with your brain! Human! Garashir au based on that one Reddit post where one gay thinks he’s homophobic but only towards his gay roommate cause he actually has a crush on him.

Julian is a broke med student who finally moved out of his home city and applies for the first ‘Looking for Roomate’ ad he sees, so he ends up living in a two bedroom apartment above a tailor shop with the shop’s middle aged owner.

Julian is a baby bisexual and Garak is a proud queer man so Julian is thoroughly confused when Garak starts to bring around his casual partners and gay friends and it makes him upset. They spend a lot of their free time together, cooking and reading and being insomniacs, so Julian is sure he’s just not used having other people in their space. Then he snaps at his coworker, Kelas, who had become a regular at their place in recent weeks.

In a panic, Julian writes to the local paper’s anonymous column asking for advice for his newfound homophobia and is told in many polite words from many people that he is an Idiot and In Love. When he finally pulls himself together and confesses to Elim that he maybe sorta is in love with him, Elim tells him he had seen the anonymous column the morning he was posted and knew already. Then he tells Julian that if he wants to pursue something between them, it’s his choice, because he won’t chase someone so much younger than him. Julian, of course, chooses to…..

Classic Star Trek time/reality messiness with DS9, where Garak is replaced by his younger self. The younger him is more impulsive and blatantly emotional, but still delighted by his own tricks. Same Garak but unrefined.

Elim, losing his mind cause they know his name already for whatever crazy reason, is hard to keep track of and evens harder to control. He finds joy in causing a ruckus after realizing that no one in his future reality likes him very much.

He’s absolutely enamored with the CMO who keeps trying to ask him about literature. In the middle of a full brief on the situation, Elim blurts out about how gorgeous the doctors neck is, and fails to pass it off. He’s mortified.

Elim observes everyone in that creepy, lizard like way that seems just like Garak, but none of them had ever seen Garak do it.

Julian, creeped out: Elim, you have a… staring problem

Elim, thinking he’s being called a slut: what? I absolutely do not, I only ever stare at you!

Julian: oh.

Elim is intensely emotional and fails plenty of times to hide it because you can just see it in his eyes. His default look is so earnest that everyone kinda feels bad that they aren’t super nice to him. He doesn’t blame them tho (he’s blowing them up in his mind)

Yall know the scene in those ‘coming of age’ movies, where the family is having dinner, and the dad points out that new boy to his daughter with the subtly of a freight train. And he says something about him being a good kid, that he’s talented, and then ends with something that directly aligns with what the daughter likes?

Yes. That’s concept, but it’s dinner with Spock and his parents. And Sarek is under the impression that Spock is with Kirk (not wrong), and is trying to convince him that the doctor is a better option(wrong, because he’s also dating McCoy)

“Doctor McCoy is very talented. He’s recived awards for his work I’ve heard.”

“Yes father, he excelled as a doctor before he had joined starfleet as well.”

“He also saved my life, and your own countless times”

“Yes, as was his duty as Chief Medical Officer of the Enterprise”

-starts with a bang for sure

-Janice!!

-bones noticing some dudes xenophobia as if he is not also know for off handed rude comments

-crazy stuff being said, but it’s understandable that Kirk would want a peaceful retirement for himself as well as his crew.

-I do not like the Vulcan navigator very much

-politics? In MY Star Trek? It’s more likely than you think.

-original Klingon Shakespeare moment.

-well. Just like a family dinner I guess. That was awful

-the chancellors walking stick being a huge bone is so cool though.

-the raid of the Klingon vessel was lowkey filmed like a doctor who episodes especially the zoom in on the boots

-something really pleases me to see McCoy get a chance to be an actual doctor. Not just in medbay, but in the field where it matters most

-more politics! This is actually really interesting, like a special espionage/murder mystery episode but in movie form

-the Klingon court scene is really good, Kirk is actually a really good witness, staying neutral and making no claim exactly, but there was only so much he could say anyway. Very cool

-the one take shots on the bridge are incredibly satisfying, watching the camera view move smoothly through the space is sooo nice

-I really enjoy when they make aliens look different person to person, like the ridge placement and size between Klingons. It definitely makes them feel more real

-lots of cool new aliens too

-I changed my mind I like the Vulcan navigator, she’s smart and very witty

-Mckirk getting scruffy in prison

-sexy alien lady kissing Kirk feels much weirder cause he’s like way older in this movie

-the searching scenes on the enterprise are fantastic, the do one take shots a lot in this movie and they’re all really good

-the crew trying to speak Klingon and understand it was great, but Uhura would probably know at least a little of it

-Kirk fighting himself, and all the good quips following were just <333

-I WAS RIGHT THE NAVIGATOR WAS THE ONE WHO DID IT

-not a huge fan of the non consensual mind meld, or that Spock was genuinely hurting her

-the willingness of the og crew to lie for each other and protect each other always makes me so emotional

-bones and Spock living it up as torpedo surgeons. Loved hearing ‘fascinating’ from Bones

-first look at the enterprises bar just to watch it explode

-I LOVE THE ENTERPRISE CREW THIS WAS SUCH A FANTASTIC END FOR THEM. MY BELOVEDS <3

IV, the one with the whales

-they beamed in the title card and I just really appreciate that

-cool alien! And a gorgeous captain

-slay sarek giving cunt and being ✨logical as fuck✨

-Amanda is a pretty good mom in this movie, better than she was in the show anyway

-the alien threat in this one just looks very odd. Like it doesn’t give much, at least in the beginning

-I don’t have a lot of notes going on cause I’m actually so lost on the aliens thing

-okay the whale sound thing is cool so I can’t really complain

-bones bitching as per usual, quips and jokes are solid

-time travel time ‘steady as she goes’ steady as she goooeeesss

-nothing more exciting than the harnessing of nuclear power

- Spock being a little human at the end after having to relearn his whole life and all of its lessons is just something that is so important to me
