The Lamentation of Christ (also known as the Lamentation over the Dead Christ, or the Dead Christ and other variants) is a painting of about 1480 by the Italian Renaissance artist Andrea Mantegna. There are two authentic versions of the portrait. It was sold at auction (1990) for a record price of $82.5 million.
