Look, i love romance as much as the next person, BUT GOD, I HATE IT WHEN SOMEONE FLIRTS WITH ME. At some point, i had a sexuality crisis bc maybe i'm not into men, but it turns out men are not the problem for once. I'm just immune to it, and i cringe so bad when someone flirts with me and i kinda feel bad for not flirting back ( idk i'm a ppl pleaser) and then i flirt back but awkwardly so i just get embarrassed. Anyways, i kick my feet and giggle while reading good banter, but irl i just despise it. Maybe i just think that i'm not good enough to be flirted with ? IDK IDK, and it's making me crazy😭

Tw: cannibalism, unhinged James.
They had killed his beloved. How was he supposed to live without him?
Regulus' body lay naked and limp in front of him, skin colder than usual and marred with blues and violets.
How could they turn his lover this way? He couldn't help the guilt rippling through his body. After all, Regulus warned him about how his family would react to the news, yet James couldn't stop pushing. He wanted Regulus free from that house, so he was relentless in his begging. He imposed an ultimatum on Regulus: leaving the house or losing him.
Oh, and how greedy James had been; his desires knew no bounds, exponentially growing and gnawing at his heart to have Regulus all for himself. A gape opened in James' body; it could only be sated by Regulus' love.
They had killed him and sent him his body.
They knew of their relationship.
Regulus left him behind in this world, his hunger left raging; now James can't help but crave opening his delicate ribs, making himself small, and crawling to the chambers of his heart. And, what a great idea downed on James! He didn't want his lover's corpse rotting and turning into food for worms. He went to his room before reason could halt him and grabbed Regulus' favorite knife.
In front of Regulus' body, his hunger expanded as the universe did. He held the knife's handle softly and traced his chest with the blade, stopping at where Regulus' heart would reside. He slowly drove the blade into his skin, cracked the ribs, and finally found the object of his desire. It felt like Regulus' heart was pounding, but it was only James' escalated heartbeats that deluded him. He delicately took out the heart and brought it to his mouth, sinking his teeth into the tender flesh.
They were reunited, at last.

I've just finished reading dunmeshi, and here are the things i've appreciated:
The worldbuilding in this manga is perfect. While other fantasy mangas tend to fall into stereotypes of depicting certain races as their traits, only to give us flat characters, dunmeshi shows how complex they are. For example, usually, elves are shown as noble, pretentious, and obnoxious. However, in dunmeshi, you can still see those traits, but it also shows you why they are like that or why people hold such prejudices towards them, in this case they have a longer life span so they're more knowledgeable when it comes to ancient magic and history but they tend to be patronizing towards people and gatekeeping that knowledge.
Monsters actually make sense as the manga shows different characteristics of each monster, their anatomy, weakness, and behavior. The way it's presented is not overwhelming at all because it doesn't dump on you all of that info at once. You learn about monsters along with the characters.
Dunmeshi promotes a healthy lifestyle and how we should take our food seriously. It also shows how dissociated we are from our food. We don't know its source. It also teaches to take from nature but also give back. This is made clear by how Marcille is adamant to eat vegetables grown on golems or how she is surprised to see senshi using feces and urine as fertilizer.
Finally, the best thing this manga explored is desire. How humans can never sate their hunger. How the more we consume, we crave for more. Our desires often intervene with other people's desires, and that's why the demon was baffled to how could he make these humans happy. The utopia he wanted to create only made people more miserable. And that's the beauty of human nature. We should be denied our desires at times to keep on living , to have a goal also it's a good exercise for self control: do you really want it ? What about the others ? How are the things you desire affect them?

why do you think it's so common for writers to insert themselves into their stories?

March 19, thumb-@jegulus-microfic- 223 words
Regulus hates to admit it, but he has this hyperfixation on James' thumb.
He loves it when James holds his face, and his coarse thumbs caress his cheekbones in gentle strokes as a sculptor would mold his clay. He always wondered how calloused hands, used to exerting strength from grabbing brooms and quaffles turn tender.
He loves how it leaves his cheekbones to trace his jaw and eventually grabs his lips, brushing over them as if James were trying to memorize the lines on his lips by touch alone.
So, one day, Regulus comes back with a gold ring and asks the question. And when James says yes and starts to put the ring on his ring finger, he finds it too big.
James looks up to Regulus, an amused look crossing his face " I think you got the wrong size, love".
"No, it's supposed to go on your thumb".
James doesn't know why, but he doesn't question him and puts it right away on his thumb, the ring circling it perfectly.
Regulus dares to buy the ring and propose to James, but he still has a long way to confess that under James' thumb, he felt loved beyond measure, a star kept alight under the sun's love.
A star that had long lost its light but was revived by the sun.
