suzanne collins is such a genius... the cultural phenomena of her series leading to the hanging tree house remixes, mockingjay being milked for two (bad) movies, the capitol-inspired makeup palettes, the halloween costumes, the explosion of the market for dystopia, the butchering of her characters and removal of disabilities, disfiguration, and racial tension + representation to sell more tickets, the extra gale scenes to fuel discourse, and the audience showing up to cinemas to watch what was pretty honestly marketed to them (the jacob vs edwardification of the symbolic love story and also to watch children fight to the death) it's just so ridiculously ironic i would say you can't write this shit, but she did write about it... in The Hunger Games published 2008

I’m obsessing over Elle and Reid

I truly honestly think they could have been endgame and it could have been a long played out multi season plot. In the seasons they were on together there was such an important relationship there, there was this unspoken trust between them. It was so clear that Spencer cared so deeply about her and felt that she respected him. I can’t remember a time when she ever shut him down for his nerdiness or anything like that. I think that if she had stayed they would have developed a relationship not unlike Spencer and Morgan’s. I think they would have been ride or dies in a way that didn’t need to be communicated. And they would get closer and closer, finding solace in each other. I think that it would happen so naturally and the viewers would watch as they start to care about each other on a deeper level until they were racially already in a relationship.

In this perfect universe of mine Reid never has to go though the Maeve or Cat ordeal and I am at peace
