Reflecting on this after writhing it, I remember that this is not my first dream I’ve had concerning me and my mom being together when missiles hit/nuclear war starts. I’ll have to come back and recount the first dream I had when I was about 10 years old
VIVID DREAM NIGHT OF 12/27/22
(I’m hungover so this is all fragmented memory)
Idk what was the original cause of this conflict, but I remember the world was on the brink of nuclear war, people were panicking and worried about who was gonna launch the first missile strike. Cities were experiencing power failures from what we thought were unrelated to the potential war, even a smaller city like mine was in a black out for no apparent reason. I remember I was laying on my moms lap in this rather gorgeous home that had a lot of windows so you could see up to the sky when laying down. My mom was stroking my hair telling me that if the first bomb were to hit the U.S. it would be in a larger city, like Chicago, and we wouldn’t have to worry about being close to the blast. But just when she said that, while looking up at the sky, I saw the streak and burning light of a missile coming down to impact the exact city I was in. I was shouting at my mom too look and prepare, as I see it come down and impact the large river that runs through our city (apparently this home also overlooked the river suddenly)
I was shocked to find that upon impact there was no explosion or damage. Just seemed like someone threw a stone into water. But soon after the bomb feel into the river, these futuristic hover craft/ship type vehicles with the ability to do short distant space travel showed up in our city. They announce over loud speakers that these craft will be the ships that take as many people as they can off this planet before the bombs detonated. It was then I realized the bomb that came down was dormant and would eventually explode. After hearing the announcement that only the first come would be saved, I urged my mom and her husband and my partner to pack a bag and get ready to get on one of those ships. We had a very small time limit. As I was doing all of the things I needed to leave, I happen to run into a coworker who was on a computer. He was apparently trying to find out why the bombs went to the cities they did, seeing as they went to smaller cities like mine. Then I realized the correlation seemed to be the bombs went to the cities that were having power failures, that the power outages were the precursor to the missiles.
I get to the first craft only to find my partner there and not the rest of my family. I panic and run back home to find my mom. She apparently thought we had more time than we did and was trying to organize and plan sentimental items to bring with her. I practically had to scream at her and pull her toward the door telling her we had to leave now!
I woke up

Lucid Powers Level 5: Manifestation and Pain Mitigation
So, now that you have gotten lucid a number of times, and have a grasp or mastery at the level 1 lucid powers, and you feel like you want to take it to the next level. Your next step is to practice and master the level 5 lucid powers. (You may ask, why this numbering system...because I chose it really). I describe these powers as “level 5″, because we start to do things without a current frame of reference. For example, it’s easier to lift an apple with your mind because you can see the apple and begin your focus on manipulating an object already present in front of you, what I am going to explain to you next is how to MAKE the apple out of thin air.
OBJECT MANIFESTATION: Manifesting objects is more difficult than manipulating an object, obviously, because the object is not already in front of you. You’re frame of reference for that object is not yet set. To manifest an object you again have to follow the two rules, but to an even more detailed extreme.  You must not only visualize the object and what you want to do with it, you must also have to visualize every detail of that object and have no doubt that you will manifest that object. You have to visualize the weight, the texture, the feel of it in your hands (or in like the instance of a car, feel what it feels like to sit inside it), the overall mass, the smell even if it applies. Then you must not doubt that the object is already in your hands (even though you KNOW it was not before). In most of my experiences, I try to manifest some sort of weapon, and therefore I have to not only visualize the weapon in my hands but convince my lucid mind that it was already there. I have also found in my experiences it helps to have some sort of reveal to myself holding the object. Like a magician doing a slight of hand trick, I see my hand being empty, I close my eyes and visualize the object, in that moment I also wave my other hand over my palm, open my eyes and remove my waving hand to reveal the object of my desire already in my previously empty palm. This will take a LOT of practice, far more than any level 1 power. I have failed this “trick” many times while fully lucid for one reason or another, and without losing my lucidity, I either try again or just move on to another objective with the things already at my disposal.
ENERGY MANIFESTATION (AKA Kamehameha Wave):
Tumblr media
Like object manifestation, this technique is also quite difficult at first because it requires you to create your own reference in your mind before you perform the move. However, it might be even more difficult for some because no human in reality has ever seen a real life energy blast, (or for reference, the Kamehameha Wave) and therefore it requires more of the dreamer’s imagination to create. For this I typically bring my hands together just like a character might in Dragon Ball Z, and I imagine what that energy would feel like between my palms. I ask myself “Does it tingle? Does it feel hot? Is it affecting other things around me?” Prompts like this help your mind manifest that idea into your lucid dream. Then I push my hands forward toward my target and imagine a “release” of that energy in a forward motion. After the energy is initially released, you must also visualize the destruction this blast might cause as it travels ahead.  Another move similar to this that I have also done is the “Spirit Gun” from the anime Yu-Yu-Hakusho.
Tumblr media
If you think I’m using a lot of cartoon, anime or movie references for the things I’m explaining, you’d be exactly right. And that’s because these media are just visualization tools to achieve your lucid dreaming goals. It’s much easier to manage and create when you already have a working frame of reference.
LIFE MANIFESTATION: Manifesting a person or other life in a dream is both easy and hard. It’s easier in the sense that you already manifest the life subconsciously when you enter a dream, you’ve already created a dream character representation of your family, friends or strangers without even trying, and without being lucid. However, it is also hard because when you are lucid you are aware, and therefore you can never shake the knowledge that the person you just created is not actually a separate and distinct mind of your own, but merely a copy of your memory of that person. And it’s because of this that I find creating people is not as fulfilling as other abilities. It might be nice to talk to your dead relatives in your dreams, but until there is definitive proof that you actually have manifested their spirit, you are mostly doing therapeutic self reflection. This can be useful and I have used it myself to get through grieving a loved one. The actual manifesting of a person is much the same as anything else, you must visualize and believe they are going to suddenly walk through that door to greet you.
PAIN MITIGATION: This technique is a favorite of mine and one I rarely see other experienced lucid dreamers, and like minded content creators, talk about or even mention. Perhaps this is because other lucid dreamers rarely have the violent, action packed and exciting dreams I tend to have, or maybe if they are faced with a situation in which they will feel pain, they find other methods of getting out of that situation. Let’s put the use of pain mitigation and it’s benefits into a contextual situation.
You are in a dream that is more of a nightmare, of which you are in a situation where you are about to be shot. Just having become lucid, you haven’t had the opportunity to change anything about the dream or surroundings, and maybe have a couple seconds to do something about this situation before you are struck with that bullet in the dream. What can you do? For me, I have found that it’s quicker and a bit easier to change things about myself vs things surrounding me. So instead of like...stopping time, or changing the dream location, I can do something to myself to save me from this situation with far less brain power than completely changing the scene. Plus, once this attacker fails to hurt me, I’m going to want a little payback.
The brain is a magnificent thing, its has the power to make you feel pain with or without actual stimuli, so if you are shot in a dream, most times your mind is going to fill in what it believes that might feel like, even if you’ve never been shot before. I have never actually been shot but have been shot in a dream, and before I taught myself this technique it was always quite painful. In at least one instance when I was young, I awoke to myself verbalizing that pain for a moment after having been shot in the face in a dream. But this ability of the brain to make you feel pain can go the other way. You can trick your brain into not telling you to feel pain, at least in the dream. In our scenario, what I would do as the attacker fires his bullet is harden myself to be as strong as steel, so that the bullet would ricochet off me as if I were superman. To do that I often tie this hardening, or becoming of steel, to the actual key word “steel”. I have practiced it enough to where just focusing on that single word makes my lucid mind trigger that hardening effect. And of course, a steel wall can’t feel pain. Another trigger word I use to do a similar idea, but opposite effect, is “water”. I literally turn my body into that of water, so that the bullet may enter and exit my body without causing pain or bodily harm. If you don’t have trigger words to protect yourself from pain, there is also imagining the pain itself feels different. So, when you are shot, instead of feeling the penetration of a bullet, imagine that bullet is nothing but a paper wad, like some kid spat it out of a straw rather than a gun. Imagine your skin to heal as quickly as Wolverine in the X-men. Do whatever is easiest, but do not allow your brain to imagine what a bullet actually feels like.
Tumblr media
In dreams where I’ve been stabbed, I’ve also imagined my body to be numb where the knife went in. There is a thousand methods to mitigating pain in a lucid dream, it will be tough to master, and there will be times where you may feel a lot of pain, but I have found this particular power to be one of the more useful ones to allow yourself to have fun in a dream. You lose a lot of fear of things you might attempt because you can imagine it might hurt, but you know you can imagine how it won’t hurt.

Once I get on a desktop tonight I want to make my Lucid Powers Level 5: Manifestation and Pain Mitigation post. It’s been literally YEARS since my last lucid dreaming lesson, so you’ll have to forgive me if I overlap some previous thoughts or forget some information. But these next few techniques I want to talk about are some of my most favorite to do in a lucid dream! I might even be inspired to make a new lucid dreaming video of the same topic. So be sure to sub to my gaming/dreaming YouTube channel

Reality Checks
i think i’ve talked about this before, but i want to go more into depth about the reality checks i do.
1. first i count my fingers/look at my hands to make sure they’re normal. for some reason, a lot of the time in a dream, your hands look weird or you have and extra/are missing a finger
2. then, i look at the ceiling/sky. if you’re in a dream, the sky will look fake or like a painting
3. after that, i look at an analog clock. i heard somewhere that if you’re in a dream, the clock either won’t have numbers on it or the hands will be moving continuously
4. then, i pinch my nose and try to breathe through it. if i am able to breathe through my nose when it’s pinched, then i know i am dreaming
5. finally, i try to put my finger though my palm or my hand through the table. i heard somewhere (idk where) that if you can put your hands/fingers through a solid surface, then you’re dreaming.
this whole process doesn’t take very long. i would say it only takes about 10-15 seconds.

Getting Lucid Step 2: Identifying the Dream/Reality Checks
After dream journaling for a period of time, you may notice things about your dreams, patterns and reoccurring scenes or situations. Perhaps a reoccurring character keeps popping up, or you have dreams that trigger a certain emotion repeatedly. From your journaling you may also realize how strange things look and feel in the dream. All of these things are great tools for triggering lucidity within the dream. Becoming lucid means you must be aware you are dreaming, and having recorded how strange or fantastic the dream world is will help your brain recognize when it is dreaming. Just like studying for a test in school, you must practice focusing on what is different about the dream world from the waking world.
What if you don’t have a trigger or pattern in your dreams to make you become lucid? What if after months of journaling and practicing recall, you still can’t find a pattern or realize how strange dreams are? Well, there are physical and mental checks you can perform to tell yourself if you are dreaming at that moment. These mental checks are called “reality checks” because they check your reality. There are some common and basic checks that are used often, but you can come up with your own check that best suits you. What checks do is allow you to try and break the laws of physics because, obviously, if you cannot defy physics you have a 99% chance that you are awake. (I leave 1% because if you use a check too much your brain in the dream can simulate the physics you are trying to break, thereby tricking you to believing you are awake.)
CAREFUL: I am not suggesting one try to break the law of gravity by jumping off a building, or test if you are dreaming by jumping in front of a car, be sensible. 😉
Once you have decided on one or a few reality checks, it’s important that you do them pretty frequently throughout your day, make it a habit. Once you have trained yourself to check your reality everyday you are far more likely to habitually do it in your dreams, and then you can identify that you are dreaming.
These are a few most commonly used reality checks that are simple and take less than a second to perform…
1. Plug your nose check: (my favorite) Plug your nose and attempt to breathe, if you cannot breathe through your nose, you are awake. While sleeping, your body does not move when you do in a dream (normally) so plunging your nose in a dream will not plug your nose in real life. (This one can fail, your brain can eventually imitate your nose being plugged in a dream)
2. Hand check/black dot: this one is terribly easy but the dreamer may not recognize their own check right away. This one requires that you simply look at your hands, and consciously notice what they look like. Often in a dream your brain kind of muddles the super fine details, ones you normally don’t even consider in real life. In the case with your hands, in the dream world hands and fingers often look odd or behave weird. (I.e. You have extra fingers or they wiggle wildly on their own.) Obviously, if you notice your hand now has 6 fingers you can safely assume you are dreaming. This check can also be used with a “black dot”. This requires the individual to draw a black dot on the back of their hand in waking life. The trick is that you will be constantly looking and noticing the black dot on your hand so when you are dreaming and the black dot is no longer there you can begin to realize you are dreaming.
3. Mirror, Mirror: This one can be tricky and sometimes give you a false positive for being awake. This one requires the dreamer to find a mirror (which in a dream can be difficult and actually distract you from your original goal). Like the hands, for some reason your dream reflection looks almost nothing like yourself. So, checking your face in the mirror to see if everything looks normal can tell you if you are dreaming. I always caution newbies with this one because of two reasons, one because if your brain is able to convince you for a second that your reflection is normal, that’s all some people need to forget they were checking their reality in the first place, and two because sometimes your dream reflection can be terrifying and can cause the dreamer to suddenly awake. I always suggest doing this check in tandem with another to double check.
4. Reading things twice: In a dream language and writing can become incomprehensible and jumbled. It’s actually a very difficult task to read something in a dream consistently while comprehending it. Most people often find that what they read made absolutely no sense or never was actually literate. For this check you need to read something, look away for a second and try to read it again. More than likely your dream will change what that thing said before you read it a second time. This one can be difficult for first timers because it requires the dreamer to remember what they read the first time. I also recommend this not be your only reality check.
5. Turn on the lights: This one is as simple as it sounds, you must simply try and turn on a light switch. In a dream things do not operate how they do in life, so if you attempt to turn on the lights and nothing happens, or the lights turn on after a significant delay, you are more than likely dreaming. Again, if your brain is tricky enough, it can make you believe that the lights turned on just fine. Do this check with another to ensure validity.
Well, that was a little long winded, but that is a pretty comprehensive guide to dream checks. Our next lesson will be about maintaining lucidity once achieved, and the most common issues beginners face.
Later on, I’ll tell you how I achieved my lucid dream abilities such as flight, super powers, and the ability to modify pain. As always, feel free to ask any questions or tell me some of your favorite reality checks. 😊

So, in case you didn’t hear, Nobel prize scientists proved that quantum entanglement isn’t just some “spooky action at a distance” and is in fact, a real influence on particles at a quantum level. Now, I would advise you do your own research on the newest findings, as far smarter people than I can explain it better. But basically we now realize that two particles that were once linked, and are no longer linked, still can influence each other’s behavior even at a great distance. So, let’s think about this in terms of lucid dreaming. When I lucid dream, I can do whatever I want to whatever I want, regardless of the distance between me and the object I want to influence, because I can imagine myself being close to that object to influence it, thereby picking up an apple with my mind because I visualize how that apple would be lifted if I did it physically. And I must ask, isn’t this technique or method similar to what these sub-atomic particles are doing with quantum entanglement? Of course, not consciously. Two particles that are now a great distance apart can still influence the other’s behavior just because there were, at one point, linked. But ALL matter was at one point linked to the same location just before the BIG BANG. So, now I MUST ask, can any matter influence any other matter on a macro scale because their sub-atomic particles were once linked? And how far can we extrapolate this theory? Can an individual change or influence a “solid” object because the particles that make up that object were once ONE with the individual’s particles? Are we THIS CLOSE to creating lucid dreaming phenomena in waking life?

While I was away from tumblr, I created a youtube channel! Admittedly, it’s mostly for my gaming content, but I also created some lucid dream content too! And if any of you would like to sub and see more lucid dream tutorials and videos, give this playlist a shot and some likes!! I’m always interested in making more lucid dream stuff, and especially since my own dreaming mind has been thirsty for lucid dreaming too!
