They say good things come in threes and so does Yuki Fest!

Round three of Yuki Fest is back for 2024 and we’re hoping you’ll make it bigger and better than ever!

What is Yuki Fest?

It is a fest dedicated to our favorite pocket prince and celebrating everything about him. Our planned posting date will coincide with Yuki’s 24th birthday for a little extra special touch.

What can I do for Yuki fest?

While Yuki Fest primarily focuses on fics, creatives of all kinds are welcome to join. You can:

Write a Yuki-centric/Yuki pairing centric fic

Create fanart

Web weaves/image edits

Fancams/video edits

Bake a cake

And so much more! If you’re curious about whether your idea is allowed for the fest, feel free to message a mod for clarification.

As of this time, all Yuki pairings are allowed apart from Yuki/reader insert. Any genre and rating is fine as long as it's properly tagged. You could even go with no pairing at all, as long as Yuki is the main focus of the output!

How do I join?

You can register yourself for the fest through this google form!

There is no deadline for registering, you can join at any time. This is mostly to help us keep track of how many people are contributing so we can stagger posting.

When is the deadline?

Posting starts from May 11th, Yuki’s birthday so all works must be submitted by the 9th. If you require an extension, we can work with you on that so don’t hesitate to ask.

Where’s the AO3 collection I upload my works into?

All works can be uploaded to the collection here. Fanworks shared on Tumblr can also be tagged with #Yukifest

Is there a discord?

and see I always thought he said "come on, mate" in a "nah, we're gonna properly hug none of that leaning in stuff!" which always KILLED me bc I could tell that Oscar chose to lay low with his personality that year after all the drama (and not just a little bit of 'oh god I've been a huge fan of this guy for eight years and now I'm his teammate oh god') (and side side note him having seen the previous bromances Lando had Oscar was wary of coming off as if he were trying to manufacture one to help his own image) he was so much more open and relaxed in F2 and F3. and for someone as tactile as Lando it's not even a stretch to say that Oscar being so quiet and physically reserved threw him when it came to getting to know Oscar. we all know Silverstone was the big turning point for them in every way so Oscar being the one to go all bring it in and squeeze his arm around Lando's waist and Lando absolutely beaming about it just !!!

but if he said "I'm going to put my arm around you" it's the same thing but with the added impression he doesn't want to startle the cat !! like, he knows how it's been with Lando and that it's unfortunately been established that they don't do casual physical stuff - so rather than just tugging Lando in, he gives a heads up so that Lando can lean into it as much as he chooses and that's unbearably sweet ;__;

I'm such a broken record but seriously the way they connect and do that twinning thing but are so cautious about physical touch is so weird and sweet and unique and idk idk idk

i'd like to explain a series of events i've just experienced.

i was watching tiktok edits of f1 drivers (sue me). a lacy edit came up (look up lacy f1 on tiktok you'll cry) of ollie bearman and arthur leclerc and then i just started scrolling thru lacy edits. last one was a really long lestappen one. this is important.

i realise im doom scrolling and instead head to ao3. fun fact abt me is i only really read lando centrics for some reason. can't really get behind others.

but i'm like, damn. that lacy edit of lestappen kinda hit. now i want an angsty leclerc fic. any leclerc fic.

i open a new ao3 tab. make sure i'm only seeing completed leclerc angst fics. skip immediately to page 3, scroll casually past a fic with the tag 'lando breaks his neck' without blinking, and then pause.

i see part 2 for a landoscar fic i read. i go back, read the title and relationships, and yep thats the fic. skim thru the tags.

i thought i read 'logan wins in monza' and immediately my mind goes to "that's a fucking jump".

i immediately feel like shit. i was just watching sad loscar lacy edits and i dare mock his talent? like sure he's bad but i didn't need to think it!

small detail, i am on very little sleep at the moment.

anyways. i immediately burst into tears. thoughts are being thunked; 'he's just a guy, luka!' 'cut him a break, luka!' 'the man is obv struggling emotionally, luka!'

and then i pause.

i am in my childhood bedroom. on vacation. crying over an adult man who drives bad sometimes who will never even know of my existence.

i'm immediately ashamed of myself. i close out of the tab and play sudoku for ten minutes. then lacy comes up on my fucking playlist and i remembered that i just bawled my eyes out for a whole two minutes over an f1 driver.

from my eljay days I still write my fic with html as I go, and I'm genuinely curious what other fic writers do (also yes, okay, yes I am procrastinating finishing this fic, shut up already, why are YOU at the devil's sacrament???)

my friend was asked what f1 driver would be who in saltburn. here's her take:

felix: obviously lando. he's rich, popular, pretty damn good looking, has a pretty damn good life - seems gullible enough to fall for an oliver-type scheme. i hate this connection though because i adore him and do not want him dead. oh well.

farleigh: weirdly, i could see this being daniel. a foreigner in europe, popular, hot, seems like the type that would've been willing to suck off a teacher. while he holds power in his own right, he kind of relied on lando for the second half of his mclaren stint. was in his shadow a bit. would probably look mighty fine doing coke off of some chicks hand. it works.

venetia: pierre. not only because of the whole thing with lando (pierre stole his girl or smth, can't really remember), but also because he'd be such a pretentious douche. would pierre kill himself if lando died? probably not, but that's all minor details. we can ignore that for now.

venetia pt2: carlos. very close with lando, seems quite frisky if u ask me, would be devestated if lando got murdered. but this one isn't as fun. i think it should still be pierre.

elspeth and james: fernando and mark. listen. seems out of left field, kinda is out of left field, but just. listen. mark is content with the oliver (won't reveal yet), finds him interesting and appreciates the unique insight (albeit awkward at times) he brings. fernando is kinda a blind reach, but he seems like the type that could be pretty enamoured when his buttons are pushed the right way. he doesn't seem gullible, but a liar as complex as an oliver doesn't need to worry about how gullible people are. everyone's fair game.

oliver: lastly, the oliver. before i state who i think the oliver would be, please understand that i love this man and am 77% sure he wouldn't murder a family for their estate. but yeah. oscar piastri is the oliver. he's enamoured with lando, is quiet and analytical and no one can really tell what he's thinking. he's got the right mixture of confidence and awkwardness that it just works.

tldr: lando invites oscar back to his grand estate for the summer break with mommy and daddy mark and fernando. there oscar meets pierre, lando's frisky lil sister (lmao), and finds out that daniel, lando's cousin who sucks off professors and shit, lives with him too. oscar really, really likes the house.

note from luka: i hated saltburn so much. it was good to watch, yes, but i felt ill after. farleigh was hot though. i think my friend did a good job. love that she made pierre venetia lol

There are crickets outside now.

The ground has long since thawed, the bite of winter melting into spring and then some, and the dark isn’t as quiet anymore.

Lando wants to close his eyes and feel refreshed, feel invigorated by the stretching and lengthening of the days. He wishes he could lose himself in the noise, let the song of the back garden coming back to life wake up a part of himself that feels like it’s been switched off permanently.

It’s becoming harder for him to remember what it’s like be properly awake. He knows his eyes are open, but he knows he’s not all here.

He doesn’t remember the last time he slept.

The sounds don’t feel reassuring, they just feel like noise. It feels like a ringing in his ears that makes the muscles in his jaw clench, makes his teeth grind.

The one nice part of nights getting shorter, he supposes, is less time spent in the dark waiting for something to happen that doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to happen again. Less time spent waiting for the sun to rise so he can do it all over again tomorrow.

And now it’s dark, but it’s not quiet anymore. He can’t trick himself into thinking he’s alone when he’s out here.

Lando hears the hinges of the back door creaking open, but he doesn’t move. He feels the warmth of Jenson sitting down next to him, and Lando doesn’t turn, but he leans softly into Jenson’s side.

Jenson doesn’t say anything.

Lando’s throat feels like it’s lined with sandpaper.

He wants to ask Jenson how he knew that Lando was out here, but he doesn’t bother. Jenson knows, and Lando knows that Jenson knows. They don’t have to talk about it right now.

Lando lets his head fall onto Jenson’s shoulder. They sit next to each other like that, listening to the sound of the crickets, until Lando feels his jaw relax for the first time in hours.

I am writing a fic (it will be a long long time until i post) about Lando Norris debuting instead of Stoffel Vandoorne for the 2017 season. The FIA rule of 'no drivers under 18' gets put into place after Lando has been signed. It's Lando that's the record breaker, McLarens Golden Boy just that little bit more. Think about it. The entire outcome of the 2017-2019 seasons would change so much, as would any time after that.

Think about it.

I am sharing this idea because I would love to see if anyone else could work with it. I think it would be so fun.
