been working on this for a bit and am pretty happy how it turned out with all the guitar mixing :) i love this song and its so much fun to play too, and interesting to figure out all the separate parts and how they work together

something...different lol. this is very raw and unpolished and i'm honestly kinda into it. played with some random voice samples i found online and just mashed it all together with bass and guitar and digital drums.

new EP! i really like the vibes in this one but still can't quite pinpoint the genre lol. it was inspired by listening to lots of songs on the synthwave boy stream (lofi girl channel) so these should be along the same lines of synthwave/chillwave/indietronica etc. i had a lot of fun working on this :)

i think i started trying to write my own songs in about 2015/16 and this is one of those first ones (before i made songs digitally). it's supposed to come with lyrics which i did write back then but still don't feel secure enough to actually record them lol. this is just guitar, bass and digital drums, all recorded in one take bc i didnt know how music programs worked. i put a lot of drive on my guitar and was probably inspired by all the rock bands i listened to back then (and still do) like billy talent and mcr. i genuinely still really like this song, the chords and the melodies work really well and it's honestly kind of a banger lmao

i wrote the lyrics when it was storming outside which was comforting but also unsettling to me, so i guess kinda tried to personify the storm?

the verse went something like "i can see lightning in her eyes and hear thunder in her voice when she speaks all the noise is drowned out and i'm captivated" "the trees whisper when she moves when she dances the forest hums and when she speaks the whole world listens and i'm captivated"

and the bridge worked really well with the music "she's loud and dark but calm and bright she's gone by day and here at night she speaks to me, keeps me up and stays near she scares me but still takes away my fear"

i was never great at writing lyrics but i still think these hold up pretty well, also considering i was like 16 at the time

kinda want to give this song some kind of remaster some time maybe

another cover of a silly song i listened to a lot as a kid! i don't know how this got on my mp3 player in 2007 but apparently i really liked it and i still do now, so much that i wanted to make my own version of it :D for this one i also mixed real guitar and bass with virtual synth, the whistling is also me but i only sampled a few notes and then copy pasted those into the melody because i couldn't hit all the notes when whistling the whole thing naturally lmao

had so much fun working on this and i really like how it turned out!

kids with guns was probably the first gorillaz song i got introduced to and i've always loved how it sounded and really wanted to try and make an instrumental cover

first song using a new daw and experimenting recording guitar and bass instead of exclusively virtual instruments. the original has some more going on but i wanted to keep it simple for my first try haha
