Є така штука у багатьох з творчістю — бажання сховатись. Завуалювати смисли метафорами чи образами, в яких уже неможливо буде впізнати емоцію чи інтенцію. Бо так безпечніше, бо так аудиторія в гіршому випадку просто не зрозуміє, що ж ти там мав на увазі — але точно не зробить боляче, якщо ~зрозуміє~. 

Проблема в тому, що так губиться те, заради чого люди власне і споживають мистецтво. Їм не дуже цікава твоя трьохповерхова метафора, якщо вона не розкриває смисл, а ховає його.

Роблячи безпечно, починаєш робити погано — яку б технічну прокачаність ти до цього не прикручував.

There's a thing with many creative people — a desire to hide. To veil meanings with metaphors or images in which it is no longer possible to recognize the emotion or intention. Because it's safer that way, because then the audience at worst simply won't understand what you meant — but definitely won't hurt you if they do understand. The problem is that in this approach you lose what people actually consume art for. They're not very interested in your three-story metaphor if it doesn't reveal the meaning but hides it. By making it safe, you start making it poorly — no matter how technically skilled you are.

Recently got to play Guillermo in a wwdits/vampire party LARP, it was incredibly fun and I love the photos.

(On the third one I try to persuade Petyr not to eat the Wellington paranormal cops and them that nothing unusual is going on. Was incredibly in character for the levels of stress)

We had vampires from different media so by the end I got turned into a vampire by… Lestat 😅 Yeah. I tried to resist but he was very tempting and Nandor gave me the very canonic “I care about you but I’ll hypnotize you to make you forget it and I won’t turn you” spiel (that’s why the Complicated faces on the last one), and considering it was post 1 season-ish timeline… yeah, Guillermo wouldn’t have resisted either xD (And yes it was exactly as hot as you can imagine but I won’t admit to anything xD)

I regret we didn’t make a wwdits ensemble photo, everyone was incredible.

Media as a new god from Neil Gaiman’s “American gods”. Inspired by how she was played by my friend at a LARP she organized.

Throughout the recent year, I drew a lot inspired by LARPs I participated in, but it mostly stayed in the realm of sketches interesting only to the participants. But it’s a veritable treasure trove of inspiring amazing characters and I can’t wait to explore doing more “serious” and independent illustrations based on these characters.
