I rly hate the Satanic Panic & the moral panic surrounding violence in video games in the 90s, coz it's now impossible to talk about the social implications of violent video games in a realistic sense.

No, violence in video games does not create serial killers in the way most people imagine it would.

However, it's very important to notice how after 9/11, a lot of violent video games pivoted their content from silly gratuitous cartoon gore to more realistic military shooters set in the Levant from a US American lens. It's also important to notice the connection of these games & their toxic online multi-player voice chats to Gamer Gate in 2014.

It's obviously not as black & white as it was presented in the 80s & 90s, I dont think everyone who played early Call of Duty games is a white supremacist who wants to join the military to kill people in the middle east, but I think it's dangerous to pretend like video games or any media can't have an impact on the way people think about violence.

I think what makes all the difference here is how that violence is portrayed, what the message behind it is, what the motives are behind the people who crafted that message, who the victims of that violence are, how they are portrayed & the greater cultural context that surrounds it.

Been really fed up with the biphobia in the 911 fandom lately, so excuse the slight rant inspired by the latest episode of Ghosts, but if you're 'grossed' out by a ship (Canon or otherwise) because it's outside of what you view as correct, then you are an asshole. Two or more consenting adults in a relationship isn't gross and seeing those relationships on screen isn't a bad thing even if you're not personally invested in the ship.

And liking a gay ship or having gay friends or being another form of queer yourself doesn't give you any more of a right to hate on a type of relationship (much less be disgusted by it) than your average bigot.

i think we need a hard reset on events from the past 24 hours, these are the facts:

bucks sexuality storyline was floated as a possibility for an unspecified season a few years ago

it was considered to point of asking oliver if he would like to explore it, he said yes

someone in a higher position than show writers stopped it from happening

these are the speculations that are NOT confirmed and should not be talked about as if they are fact

the will scene was supposed to be the jumping off point for buddie

Over a month ago I posted that darkpinktarot.com, my website which lets you read from several tarot decks and spreads, had been changed to darkpinktarot.net. The website is now available at both addresses, and will remain so for the forseeable future.

A new spread has been added, one which allows you to read a 5 card cross (with a significator in the middle and the four main elements around the outside).
