less we forget the context of what happened leading up to October 7th and what Israel had been doing leading up to that specific moment -the hostages Israel has had in their prison systems are CHILDREN and youths who often are kept isolated and imprisoned in their systems for whatever charges the courts come up with of THEIR volition. you can research this and see how many 1000s of Palestinian people have been kidnapped, tortured, and abused by Israeli military for decades -well before this year.

no one is saying civilians deserve to be hurt or killed by ANY government or organization -people are pointing out the DOUBLE STANDARDS about the 'loss of life arguments,' when Palestinian people have & continue to face disproportionate amounts of settler-colonial violence. who have been without adequate water, food, fuel, electricity, proper medical care and aid for over a month now -on top of going through ANOTHER blackout in telecommunications.

Since my Michael appreciation tweet is still doing the rounds I want to state that it certainly does not relate to his reviews on Palestine and Israel. While he claims to be not “neutral” fundamentally his stance is neutrality. Here’s my reply to his tweets in particular:

Michael’s tweets are extremely disheartening and at the very least deliver a message of neutrality. If that isn’t what he intended he is doing a terrible job at showing it.

if you genuinely want to help, understand that the weight of the actions of one side is not in the slightest equivalent to the actions of the other.
