A/N: I know I promised this fic a while ago but life fot in the way. Here is a sneak peek for the start and the whole prologue is coming to a Tumblr accout near you soon.

This is my first attempt at fic writing so please excuse me if I still need some time to ease into this.

Pairing: Din Djarin x fem!reader who’s from earth (like our earth...y’know the one we’re on rn)

Warnings: None except for my terrible summary. I need to come up with a better way to phrase this!

Word count:

Summary: The thought of being alone in the galaxy is not just selfish, it is also wrong. You are part of a small team that has set off space to prove to the rest of the world that there might just be a whole universe of different worlds to see. Unfortunately, the mission does not go as planned and you end up in the middle of space. Alone. With only minutes of oxygen left to breathe. But with the view of a million stars.

“Din”, he says. “D-D-Din”, it is fruitless. Other than small little coos or an “Ooh” or a “Gaah” nothing is coming out of the little green creature on his lap. He sighs shaking his head. “I am starting to get the feeling you don’t want to learn this”, in response the child dips his head to the side and releases an amused giggle. “You can understand me, can’t you? Know exactly what I’m saying all the time and yet you choose to not listen”. Setting the child down on the chair behind him, he takes the small metal ball from the kid’s three fingers and screws it back to the control panel, which earns him a sad whine. “You need food”, the Mandalorian reasons, pulls the little bundle into his arms and climbs down the stairs from the cockpit.

Din watches the kid eat in silence. He had decided to give himself the day off and initially wanted to stay on Sorgan for a bit longer but the interest from others in the child grew and he deemed it too dangerous. He instead put the Razor Crest into hyperspace. It is the kid’s pulling at his trouser-leg that pulls him out of his thoughts. The alarm in the cockpit is sounding. A distress call, he quickly notes. Din rushes up the steps and immediately accepts the incoming message. The voice on the other side is tiny, barely audible through shaking and sobs. Your voice.

“This is a distress call. Vessel S-C9003 off course.In the need immediate rescue. NASA, ESA anybody please, whoever hears this please send help. Out of fuel and oxygen level is nearing 0. I only have 15 minutes left at best. I come in peace. Save me. Please, save me."
