Hey I was just wondering what is the average age of students that study pharmacy in your uni and in your country?? Do you mostly have Students coming directly from school, or are some „older“ people also common? What is the average age for graduation? thank you so much for running this amazing blog

Hello! 👋🏼

So the average age of students at my pharmacy school is about 25 years old and that’s pretty common I would say in the U.S. (don’t quote me on that though) I would say probably 1/4 of us actually go to pharmacy straight from undergrad (that was me!) but majority are actually 2-3 years out of undergrad OR come from working as a technician. So yes “older” people are definitely the majority at my school! Average age for graduation I would say is 29 since 25 is when most start :). Thank you for the support!! 💕💕

Hello!I’m a Hispanic high schooler and to have found your account makes me very happy and I wish you the best for your studies!In addition,I hope that you could help me out.I’m an undecided student but hope to study anything involving science and math.Pharmacy is in my top ten list but I’m not sure whether or not it’s for me. Do you mind guiding me a bit as to how to figure out if it’s for me?I’d also like your help in knowing what to study as a high schooler to prepare me for pharmacy.Thanks!

Oh thank you! 💕 means a lot! 😊 Well science and Math is definitely used a lot in pharmacy. So I would definitely recommend seeing if you can shadow a pharmacist or volunteer at a hospital. That will definitely give you a glimpse of what pharmacy is like! Also, if you really become set on pharmacy, be a pharmacy technician while in undergrad. It helps tremendously and I wish I had done that before going to pharmacy school. If you can’t shadow, ask to interview a pharmacist during their lunch and they’ll give you insight as well! As for studying, make sure you focus on those math and science courses! They will help you in undergrad studies and pharmacy. A lot of pharmacy calculations are based on algebra so build those strong foundations now :) I hope this helped and you see this! 😊 Hispanics are a minority in this field (many people think I’m becoming a tech not a pharmacist 😕). We need more Hispanic representation 😅 message me privately if you have anymore questions and anyone else who may have questions as well!
