THE HEART-BROKEN PUBLIC IS ME

A suffering from the roadconstructional corruption in India

yes...

the heart-broken public is me

on the waist-broken government's road

the stonebats grind their teeth everyday to me,

then I remember to the road-contractor—

the mosaicked house, latrine, bathroom,

the paved stairs with white marbles and

the concreted bank of tubewel...

all of these are done with my money;

your house, car and wife...

yes...

the heart-broken public is me

on the waist-broken government's road

sinked below my blood, lymph, sweat and tears

or the accumulated water of rainy-season up to the knee

I am to go far away everyday

beyond the moon's hill, large canyons and holes

by my broken-bicycle with the hawker's tune,

then I remember to the road-contractor once again—

huge building, guest house, dining hall,

refrigerated soft bedroom, 3D multiplex and

sky-sinked blue swimming pool as brush-wetted-water...

all of these are done with my tax cut;

your house, car and wife...

yes...

the heart-broken public is me

on the waist-broken government's road

wounded with my hunger, thirst, dry voice and tired pedals

or sunshine all over the head

your luxury is in my pocket;

your house, car and wife...

still you have built the invisible wall

around your humanity

and I'm just watching standing out of that wall...

your commercial two eyes are looking at like a merchant,

though you can't help seeing the retailing people!
