Okay so my little sister is 12 years old and while we do try to keep her from R rated TV shows and movies, she still ends up watching a few.

One thing she’s been into lately is The Assassination of Giovanni Versace. If you don’t know, Versace was an openly gay, Italian designer who was murdered in1997.

Its a pretty graphic TV show about Versaces murderer.

So the other day my lil sis was at school. She’s in 7nth grade. And she was in class and the teacher got off topic and everyone was rambling about tv shows and my sister mentioned the show about Versace.

Her teacher imediatly warns, “You shouldn’t be watching that!”

And my sis freezes for a sec because she obviously knows that this show is not for kids and she shouldn’t have said anything. I mean obviously kids shouldn’t see a show with murder scenes and sex.

So she covers up with, “uh, I only meant the commercials, they look interesting.” And her teacher shakes her head disapprovingly and says, “That’s not for kids! Or anyone! He’s gay!”

At this point all the kids in the class have frozen, listening.

And then a couple kids start getting on the teachers case, “What does it matter that he’s gay? Who cares? You don’t like gays? What’s wrong with gay people, huh? People can love anyone!”

So all these 7nth graders, the whole class now, is just absolutely bashing their teacher, including my little sister.

And all the teacher can do is sit there nodding because they won’t let her get a word out.

KIDS TODAY ARE MORE ACCEPTING THAN ANY GENERATION BEFORE.

LGBT+ IS NOT HARD FOR KIDS TO UNDERSTAND.

GAY/QUEER IS NOT AN INSULT ANYMORE.

LOVE IS LOVE, NO MATTER WHO ITS WITH.
