When love becomes ablaze, you start to see the world through rose-colored glasses, a telescope of crystal clear sights and wonders. You start to loose sight of the stars sometimes though, there are just to many, how do you know which to focus on? When the world orbits, your heart pounds, and the soul melts, you find your North Star. The star that always points in the right direction, the star that will set you on the narrow path again.

When you lose sight of a star (a lover) look for the North Star (the acceptance) because you know as well as Galileo Galilei himself, that if you look hard enough with just the right amount of tunnel vision, you will find another star.

I don't think i'm going to read Magnolia parks the long way home, maybe find a summary because I actually can't. but I want to read the last Daisy haites book, probably call it a day and not read the last magnolia book either.

Magnolia Parks, my thoughts

Okay, so I just finished Magnolia Parks.

Gotta say I know why I've put off reading it. Just like addicted, I really didn't like a majority of what I read. I hated the main characters, hated a lot of the side characters too.

Starting with Magnolia. Like Bridget said, I do truly think she has a need and is addicted to male validation. She led countless boys on, toyed with them, and had a God Complex through it all, partly because she didn't know better but also because she is just completely oblivious to anyone's feelings but her own and BJs.

BJ... I'll be damned, I don't think I've ever read a character I've hated more. First of all, cheating is 100% an automatic hate for the character. So I hated him the entire time I read the book and never rooted for him once. I hated that he thought Magnolia was her property, because sure you may have grown up with her and knew her like the back of your hand, but that gave you no right to talk and treat her like you did. He cheated, and then he wouldn't talk anything out, would shamelessly flirt with other people and take girls home while she was with him. He was so overprotective, and it wasn't his place to be that figure towards Magnolia, especially with Christian.

Yes, Christian messed up by sleeping with his best friend's ex, but that gave BJ no right to absolutely beat him up and continue to give him shit for it. I hated how Jonah, defended BJ without a doubt. I'm all for friendships, but he fucking cheated. And to make it worse, Chris was Jonah's brother. Family first. No matter what.

I was so fed up with Jonah the entire time and was honestly rooting for Chris with the girl he was after. And I'm rooting for Henry, he was an absolute icon.

I really liked Tom. I rooted for him to end up with Magnolia although now, I can say that she doesn't deserve him. I understand Magnolia, but Tom was in 100% and we all know that one way or another, Magnolia would end up back with BJ and hurt him again.

All in all, this book fucking sucked. I will be reading the next two, I don't know about the last one though.

Those were my final thoughts.

1/5 stars for me honestly.

Tori is definitely a 'look at the moon' kind of person

Michael seems like a 'look at the sunset' kind of person

Charlie would definitely say 'look at the sea' when him and Nick go the beach

Nick seems like a 'look at the sunrise' kind of person because I bet he's they type who wakes up at 5am and would just try and get a picture of the sunrise on his camera

Aled would 100% always look for the stars and get sad when he can't see them

Frances would absolutely say how every cloud looks like a shape

Tara would say 'look at the trees' when she is driving and they seem to be making a tunnel over her head

Darcy would definitely point out every animal they see because in my mind they seem like a massive animal lover

Elle would point out all the flowers and parts of nature that look pretty

Tao would over analyse every film he watches and goes in massive rants about how 'the door isn't just green' and 'how everything in film has a meaning, even if its not important'

EDIT:

Georgia would definitely have watched every single romcom ever in existance and stay up to 3am reading fanfics

Pip would be a regular at the theatre and the people there would know her by name

Rooney would set up regular meet ups with the Shakespeare society to go and see plays in the theatre

Jason would watch every single scooby doo related thing ever and own tons of merch from it

Angelwould regularly go to concerts and love to get to know people there who loved the same music she did

Lister would definitely organise the best surprise birthday parties for all of his friends

Rowan seems like the kind of guy who you could just come to for anything and would give the best advice

And I think Jimmy would be the type of person who would always notice the things that no one else would

I just reread radio silence, and annotated it for a friend.

it's been a while. I still remember exactly why i liked it.

i relate to both aled and frances a lot, my ways of thinking, my hate for school, and the need to have something separate from the reality we all live in.

although i dislike how aled reacts, because I am I firm believer that anger is just a cop-out excuse to treat people like shit, it is understandable why he reacts the way he does when you learn about his mother.

I heavily relate to frances, not in the way that she is academically smart, because I for one, am not, but because of how much a fictional fanbase has consumed her and that it's the only thing she's really passionate about. she is a massive people pleaser, which I can firmly agree with, and she is so sensitive.

being sensitive, especially in this generation, where a lot of kids aren't afraid to be snarky and just generally bitchy to people, is tough, and radio silence, frances in particular, gives me comfort because i know I'm not alone.

no because literally, icarus is such an emotionally charged story. bro spends his life trapped, longing for escape, and when his father finally invents one, he struggles to maintain the perfect balance between the sky and the ground. even in his freedom, there are conditions, and they are arguably more limiting than those he endured during his captivity. not to mention the fact that his father's freedom is on the line as well. he's got so much riding on him, and little to no guidance on the matter

Isn't it freaking adorable how both Odysseus and Penelope could remember down to exact detail what clothing she had packed for Odysseus before he left for war even 20 years later?!

And she packed them herself. She didn't use the help of any servant or slave to do it. She wanted to prepare her husband herself. What is even more is that all the clothes were of vibrant colors which had me thinking;

What if Penelope deliberately prepared vibrant colored clothes for Odysseus solely so that she could see him from afar for as long as possible?! And man I can so imagine her doing the same! Like standing on the top of the hill where the palace is, wearing a vibrant dress that floats in the wind, holding baby Telemachus in her arms and watch Odysseus's bright tunic on the ship and Odysseus turning his head to look up at that aetherial figure on the hill almost leaning over the ship to see her JUST FOR A LITTLE LONGER until he cannot see her anymore and this is where he keeps looking at his island becoming smaller and smaller to the horizon, shedding tears of goodbye
