It’s about letting go. You can love something or someone, but you have to find the power, the strength to let go, meaning let go and let them have their life, believe that they, in turn, care about you, that you don’t let that loving of someone turn into controlling someone, turn into what you want, you know. Anakin did that to a degree, to a very large degree. And in the end was his downfall when you think about it.

It’s time for headcanons. I imagine that Kanan (or Caleb? :3) had time to use force to move to a safe place, but he was still hurt and almost the whole right side of his torso was blown up by an explosion.
