Andantino (Le Papillon, opus 50, 9) - Mauro Giuliani
This is the nineth work of another 32 pieces from "Le Papillon", opus 50, by Mauro Giuliani (1781-1829).
This work is to student with pieces progressives very interesting. The style is melodic and operatic. Giuliani was a 19th italian classical composer and give to us a Rossini's style in guitar! Your works is so great!
Pieces with sure guitar writing, to the student and the amateur guitarist. Course, to virtuous ones with their more complex pieces and concerts. No doubt, Mauro Giuliani's major works are the masterpieces of classical guitar.

Papagaio Azul – Edmundo Villani-Cortês
Brazilian composer, pianist and arranger, Edmundo Villani-Côrtes celebrated 90 years in November 2020. Doctor in Music at the University of São Paulo, and has more than 200 musical works of different genres, chamber music, symphonies, opera, concerts etc.
Very generous to all, dear conductor Villani personally delivered a copy of his manuscript of this guitar transcript. There are other versions of this song for piano and voice, solo piano and piano and strings.
The painting is called “Meninos Soltando Pipas”, by Candido Portinari, 1947.

Insensatez - Tom Jobim
Insensatez is a 1961 song written by Tom Jobim with lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes. It's one of the most popular Bossa Nova songs. The melody seems to be inspired by the harmony of Prelude N ° 4 in E minor, Opus 28, by Chopin. The song was recorded by greatest Brazilian artists like João Gilberto, Nara Leão, Elis Regina, Maria Creuza, Roberto Carlos, and many others. The English version, adapted by Norman Gimbel as "How Insensitive", was successful abroad and was re-recorded by  Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Wes Montgomery, and many others greatest musicians. Summertime - George Gershwin
Summertime is an aria from the opera Porgy and Bess, composed by George Gershwin in 1934-1935, with lyrics by DuBose Heyward, for voice and orchestra. The character Clara sings this song as a lullaby in Act 1 of the opera.
This song, with elements of African American folklore, has become one of the most popular jazz standarts, undoubtedly one of the best known songs by Gershwin.
This is my own arrangement for classical guitar.

Mrs.  Winter's Jump - John Dowland
John Dowland was one of the greatest instrumentalists of his time. British, he was an exact contemporary of William Shakespear. He left a vast work for solo lute, which works sounds great on the modern guitar.
Mrs. Winter's Jump is a music that was found in a Dowland manuscript, it was reached our days.
The title's paint is "Suonatore di Liuto", by Peter Paul Rubens, 1610.

Ingênuo - Pixinguinha
This Pixinguinha's (1897-1973) "choro" was published in sheet music by Irmãos Vitale in 1948 with co-authorship by Benedito Lacerda (1903-1958), it is one of the most popular in Brazil.
Interestingly, Pixinguinha used the third part of his other "choro" "Porque sofres", From 1910 in the second part of "Ingênuo".
Years later, this music received lyrics in 1973 by Paulo César Pinheiro (1949) to singer Marisa (1938-2003) recorder.
The painting is by Candido Portinari (1903-1962), Chorinho, 1942.

Introduction D'El Opera Beatrice di Tenda - Vicenzo Bellini
Beatrice di Tenda is a tragic opera in two acts by Vincenzo Bellini, from a libretto by Felice Romani. The first performance at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice on 16 March 1833.
Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini (1801 – 1835), or just Vicenzo Bellini, was an Italian opera composer. The melodies that Bellini wrote were known for their flow long lines.
Who made the guitar arrangements for this piece was the German composer and multinstrumentist Johann Gottfried Eduard Bayer (1822 - 1908), is published in his Opus 1, Bouquet musicale: Pièces choisis des operas modernes.
The painting is a 19th century interior illustration of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Rujero - Gaspar Sanz
Francisco Bartolomé Sanz Celma (1640 - 1710) or just Gaspar Sanz was a great spanish baroque guitar  and organist player.
There many arrangements and adpation of Sanz melodies in modern Guitar by composers like Joaquin Rodrigo, and guitar players like Emilio Pujol and Narciso Yepes.
Rujero is a stylized instrumental baroque dance piece from Italy.
Check my adaptation of this piece from 5 course baroque guitar to modern 6 string guitar. It is from book "Instrucción de Música (Libro II, f.38)", 1675.
The paint is by Diego Velázques (1599 - 1660), "Tres músicos", 1618.

Madrigal - Anonymous
Oscar Chilesotti was a italian musicologist at the end of the 19th century. He researched a codex with sixteenth-century Italian pieces and transcribed many of them for  guitar.
He published  in 1890 with the title "Da un Codice Lauten-Buch del Cinquecento: Transcrizioni in notazione Moderna di Oscar Chilesott".
This music title is "Madrigal". It is part of this Chilesotti's collection from the Italian Renaissance. When I play this piece I think a small choir sound.
The paint is Angelo Musicante, by Rosso Fiorentino, 1521.

Minuet in D minor (BWV Anhag 132) - Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) gathered in two notebooks, one from 1722 and the other from 1725, works to be carried out in the domestic and private environment, and dedicated to your wife Anna Magdalena Bach. The work became known as Die Klavierbüchlein für Anna Magdalena Bach.
The 1725 notebook is a collection of pieces composed by Johann Sebastian Bach and sons, also other german composers of the Bach's epoch.
This Minuet (BWV Anhag 132) probable composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, was originally written for the keyboard instrument.
Johann Georg Platzer (1704–1761), Das Konzert. Probably painted in 1730s.

Ilha de Coral - Luis Bonfá
Luis Bonfá (1922-2001) was a Brazilian violinist and composer of great importance for Brazilian popular music.
Many of his compositions are true Bossa Nova standarts and his musical language is idiomatically guitaristic.
Here is my arrangement of Ilha de Coral (Coral Island) theme.
