I’ve never been a fan of the “that’s just a normal human thing!” argument the genuine gatekeepers use.

First and foremost, is it though? To use two examples I’ve heard, people can make alternate identities for roleplaying, but does the average human want to be completely subsumed in it as the linker does? Humans will fall in love with one or more characters from thier hyperfixation or special interests, but will they BECOME the character for that duration, as the fictionflickerer does?

It also silences discussion. For all the talk about wanting to hear from non-otherkin alterhumans, people aren’t going to want to put themselves out there if important parts of them are dismissed as if they are a child playing pretend and lumped in with the KFF, as well as treated in ways that may induce species dysphoria.

Humans, as a species, are also incredibly diverse. You can probably find most nonhuman experiences in isolation SOMEWHERE in the world among people that identify wholly as regular homo sapiens depending on their belief system, neurotype, etc. It is when these are taken in gestalt and lead to an individual developing a nonhuman identity that it becomes noteworthy. There is nothing you can objectively prove would Never Ever happen to a human Ever.

Although I love the summer I can't help but 'miss' my protective fur! Missing something that you never had is such a strange feeling and is very hard to explain, the past lives theory would explain it only I don't think I had any past lives and if I did I can't remember them!

My therianthropy is psychological and I've said it many times before, I don't mean retract that either.. I know you can be both psychological and spiritual but its still very confusing!

I'm kind of just yowling into the void here but that's all anyone does when they want answers right? Either way I was wondering if any other therians/otherkin might feel the same way and know the answer to "why?"

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter!
