Once again, the time is nearly upon us - with less than a month left of April, it's soon time for #Monstrous May!

Monstrous May was first established in 2021, and I've arranged prompts for each May since - for each day of the month of May, there is a prompt involving and invoking the monstrous.

Create art, sculpture, write fiction, poetry, make whatever you feel inspired to! Create for as many or as few days as inspire you, collaborate with friends, and have fun.

Fan creations are just as welcome as original ones, and naturally, erotic and adult creations are as well as SFW ones!

Our goal is to rewatch the show with fanfic writing in mind. We want to look for all the places in canon where we could add a scene, show a scene from a certain character’s point of view, or change something to make things turn out differently. (We may also critique what the show writers did; that seems inevitable.)

Are there any “fanfiction gaps” in this episode? Any places between scenes where a juicy story could happen? (For example, one scene ends at night, but the next scene begins during the day, and what did they do with all of that time?)

How would the episode be different if you changed one thing? What is changed is up to you. It could be as complex as a character making a different choice, or as simple or silly as someone wearing a funny hat throughout part or all of the episode.

What about this episode would you like to see happen differently? How would making that change affect future episodes?

List any parts of each episode that you think could be jumping-off points for a fic. Like, in the pilot, how did Sam meet their friend who was in the bar with them?

How would the episode be different if there were another character involved like a reader insert character?

Do any of the themes we've already discussed in The Archive (See the bottom of the doc under the heading "Thematic docs") show up in this episode? Does this episode bring up any new themes we should be watching out for in the future?

Admin Michelle here with another SPNFanFicPond Fic Highlight!! Belated Happy Birthday to SPNisthewayoflife!!

Dean and Cas in this epic series are the fluffiest damn murder husbands EVER! Like, they're fantastic dads, who gross out their kids by being smoochy all the time, and yet they are the fiercest heads of a Russian mob that takes no prisoners. This world is well-built, including all our favorites from SPN, and Dean and Cas are just HAWT together, too!!! Everything is great until an old enemy resurfaces to try and take it all away from them. Naturally, they won't stand for that.

I have a sweet spot for Cas being Russian and speaking Russian, even though I don't understand a word of it, and this fic hit that button for me, thoroughly! Ugh. He's so hot when he's mad in Russian! *SWOON*

In short, if you want to see the fluffy kitties get hot and heavy while covered in the blood of their enemies, this is the fic for you!!!

I'll Be Waiting

Summary: You and Dean met many years ago - he thought he wasn't good enough for you and eventually you couldn't take it and left the bunker. Chuck is gone now and Dean finds himself driving around listening to the local radio station and he hears something that reminds him of you. How will you react when he appears one random night at a bar where you're on a blind date?

Characters: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, You, Jody mentioned

Warnings: this fic is from Dean's pov, a little angsty, a little sappy, and a bit fluffy. I think that's it. Enjoy!

Written: 04.13.2024

I knew I hurt her – I knew I pushed her away but I had to. I was losing Sam to the trials, the world to Abaddon, and it was my responsibility to fix it. She was of course right about the fact that I’d chosen other things over her – such as taking the mark of Cain, but I had to make the world safe for her to live.

I knew she’d be better without me anyhow – she tried to stick through it all but the Metatron killed me and Crowley brought me back and whisked me away with him. So, it was no wonder she’d left – she was better off without me – but there was a selfish part of me that needed her back.

I was driving around – stuck listening to some shit pop station because the tape deck had gone out – that’s when I first heard the song.

Hold me closer one more time Say that you love me in your last goodbye Please forgive me for my sins Yes, I swam dirty waters But you pushed me in I've seen your face under every sky Over every border and on every line You know my heart more than I do We were the greatest, me and you

If those weren’t fitting words, I wasn’t sure what would be.

I called Sam and put him on speaker, “Sammy listen to this.”

“To what Dean?” he asked sounding sick of my shit, but not wanting to admit it.

“This song,” I answered and turned the radio up.

 “You’re listening to Adele?” he asked after a moment.

“It’s on the radio,” I answered in defense. “I need you to track Y/N’s phone.”

“I thought she told you to lose her number?”

“She did, but do you really think I’m gonna not watch out for her?”

“Do you even have her new number?”

“No, but you obviously do so get to work,” I demanded.

Sam scoffed, “what does an Adele song have to do with this?”

“Just help me Sam,” I pleaded.

By the time the song ended Sam called back – Y/N was in Sioux Falls, and lucky for me I was only four hours out so I turned the car around and headed for Jody’s house.

I pulled onto Jody’s block in time to see Y/N climb into her vehicle and peel off toward town – so naturally I followed. My heart fell a little when I watched her welk into the nice bar in town. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t charge ladies a cover and has over muscular men serving.

I reminded myself I was desperate to get her back so I paid the fee and found myself a quiet table in the corner. Where I could watch her at the bar.

As I sat waiting, I had the song replaying in my head – I’d wait years for her, I kind of already have. When we met, we literally had heaven and hell against us – spent time miles apart and going off to opposite ends of the country fighting battles that we shouldn’t have had to.

I got a beer and the waitress handed me a card describing the bar games and a new jukebox they had. You could request a song from your phone and that gave me an idea. I put my request in and waited for my burger and fries – I left the onion off since I was hoping to get cozy with Y/N and didn’t want my breath to scare her away.

The dedication message was read after a couple songs played.

“This song is a dedication to Y/N. Hope you know who it’s from,” came over the speakers before the song started.

I thought they just played the song but apparently on ladies’ night they had someone in charge who reads the dedication messages.

I thought back to all the times we sat out under the moon and stars.

I left her behind when I went to hell, purgatory, and became a demon – she has every right to tell me to get dead but all I can see when I look at her picture is my future.

She began looking around the bar and my heart clinched – I wasn’t sure she wanted to find out that I was the one who requested the song.

I willingly accept the holy water she offers me to try and I gag a bit when I find it salty.

“You make that with ocean water?” I ask as I grab up my beer.

She shrugs and settles into the chair across from me.

After taking a breath and a look around the bar she stares me down as she asks, “do you mean it?”

“Huh?” I’m so taken aback by her beauty that my brain isn’t working.

“That you’ll do things different and all that?” she’s studying me for any chance of deceit.

“I’ll wait another 40 years for you to love me again if that’s what it takes.”

“Dean, I never stopped loving you,” she stated, “We shouldn’t talk about this here.”

“What about your date?”

She glanced toward the bar, “yeah, about him. That’s Timothy and he’s a blind date. He’ll make some girl happy someday, but he’s too young for me and he wouldn’t be able to handle me,” she chuckled.

“I told him it was nice to meet him but that song was for me, which meant someone very important had returned to my life.”

I felt hesitant all of a sudden and it was like Y/N could tell. “Let’s go back to Jody’s and get my gear and some rest before we go home?”
