𝔰𝔲𝔪𝔪𝔞𝔯𝔶 - Matt loves you more than anything; stretch marks and all.

𝔴𝔞𝔯𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰 - insecurities, rushed, kissing, tiny bit of crying, I think that’s it ?

Although loving the sunshine, bike rides, amusement parks, friends and family that summer brings, the thought of being seen in a swimsuit makes me want to lock myself in a room and throw away the key.

I know it’s natural and most girls have them, but my stretch marks are sprawled across my skin like tiger stripes, so bold and noticeable.

I love Matt, I really do, but the thought of letting him see what I’m most insecure about kills me. I want him to see me as the perfect girl; no imperfections.

My thoughts are still running wild as I stare at myself in the mirror, admiring how I look in my new triangle bikini.

“Ready to go?” Matt asks, poking his head through the door.

I physically flinch, immediately covering myself with my arms, taking a step back from the door. I feel so exposed standing here under his gaze.

“Are you ok hun?” he asks, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion as to why I’m acting like this.

I don’t give him a response as I push past him, grabbing a t-shirt and shorts from out of my bag.

“You don’t have to put anything else on, we’re just going to the pool outside,” he says.

I immediately cover my mouth to stop the sudden sobs from coming as a tear runs down my cheek.

“Baby what’s wro-” he starts before I cut him off, a light red dusting over my cheeks.

“Can’t you see?” I motion to my marks, immediately regretting the attention i brought to them.

“When was the last time you’ve seen me in a swimsuit huh?” My voice comes out small and shaky, but nonetheless surprised that he’s NEVER noticed this before.

“Oh honey..” he says, slowly stepping towards me. “I had no idea you felt this way.”

I hold back a sarcastic obviously as I watch him get down on his knees in front of me, locking his kind eyes with my confused ones.

He moves slowly but surly, leaning down to press a kiss to a mark on my thigh. He kisses every visible mark across my thighs, then moving up to my stomach. Not one stretch mark is left untouched by him as his lips finally land on mine, my heart beating just as fast as it did the first time we kissed.

He breaks the kiss, resting his forehead against mine.

“You know you’re extraordinarily beautiful with and without your stretch marks right?”

All I can do is smile like a little kid at his words as he interlocks his hands with mine.

“There is NOTHING I don’t love about you y/n. You’re actually perfect.”

You smile as the bright stage lights shine down, the crowd still going wild for the triplets. This being the last show, Matt asked you to be his partner which you happily accepted.

You’ve never been on tour before but it’s exceeded your expectations, although very stressful.

Matt tosses the basketball to you, snapping you out of your little trance. Standing up from your chair, you wobble a bit, your vision going fuzzy.

“You alright there love?”

“Mhm” you blink a few times before walking up to shoot. After missing the shot miserably once again, you return to your previous seat, feeling like absolute shit.

Suddenly, the lights felts extremely bright, the voices seemed painfully loud, and you didn’t think you had enough energy to shoot again.

You push yourself off of the chair with shaky hands, ready to make your way over to Matt. It’s not like this is the first time this has happened, you’ve felt like this on and off all day today and yesterday.

“I’m gonna go get water quick” you whisper to Matt after he finishes shooting.

“Do you want some of mine?” He offers, pointing at his nearly full water bottle sitting on the ground.

You just shake your head, making your way across the stage. Your vision has gone fuzzy again and your legs feel like jello as you grab for something, anything to hold you up. So close to making it off the stage; out of the sight of so many people but you couldn’t. And everything goes black.

A gasp echos around the room as the crowd watches you collapse, each of them angling their phones in your direction.

Matt is quick to sprint over to you, swiftly scooping you into his arms before carrying you bridal style off of the stage.

He lays you down on the couch in the triplets “break” room, his face twisted with concern. Luckily, it didn’t take long for your eyes to flutter open, immediately mortified of what just happened.

“I’m so so sorry Matt I tried to make it off stage, I really did” you apologize, covering your reddened face with your hands.

Matt takes a hold of your wrists, pulling them down.

“You don’t need to apologize honey, are you ok?”

Sighing, you squeeze your eyes shut, attempting to pull yourself together. “I think I just need to eat something” you eventually say.

“But I really really don’t want to go back out there” you add, afraid to disappoint him but too weak and embarrassed to go back onto stage.

“That’s ok my love, I’ll pull a fan from the crowd to be my partner” Matt smiles gently, placing sweet kisses on your knuckles.

“Matt” you say as he gets up to go back on stage.

“Hm?”

“I’m lowkey kinda excited for the edits. You’re my hero”

𝔰𝔲𝔪𝔪𝔞𝔯𝔶 - your night takes an unexpected turn with your crush 🫢

𝔴𝔞𝔯𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰 - kissing, swearing, I think that’s it :)

You’ve been best friends with Nick for as long as you can remember, meaning you’ve gotten pretty close with his triplet brothers Matt and Chris too.

Recently, there’s been an undeniable tension between you and Chris, causing you to hang out with both Matt and Chris less. You hated that you had growing feelings about your best friends brother and you feared the outcome of everyone’s relationship with you if they found out.

That’s the reason you’ve only been hanging out with Nick, your feelings intensifying any time you merely look at Chris.

And this brings us to now, you scavenging the kitchen for something to eat. You haven’t left nicks room since you arrived at their house earlier in the day, stopping any possible chance of seeing Chris. But your hunger is basically eating you alive so when nick refused to go get you food, you caved and went.

You reach up, failing to pull the box of cheese-it’s out of the cupboard.

“Who the fuck put these up so high” you mutter under your breath, propping a leg up on the counter as you try to reach just a bit further.

Suddenly, there’s a set of hands on your hips pulling you back down to the ground.

“Wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself there ma” Chris says, stretching his arm over your head to easily grab the box.

You spin around as he hands you the box, now face to face with the dark haired boy. A blush immediately spreads across your cheeks as you let out a small “thanks” before attempting to walk away.

“Not so fast” Chris stops you, caging you against the counter with his arms.

“Why are you here right now Chris” you let out, shrinking into yourself as he eyes you up and down.

“I think we both know why” he leans closer; so close that you feel the heat radiating off of his body onto yours.

Your heart rate quickens and a feeling of dizziness washes over you as his eyes flicker down to your lips.

“This ok ma?” He asks, waiting for your nod of approval before closing the gap in between y’all.

Your lips move in sync as his hands find your hips, playing with the waistband of your sweatpants. Chris pulls you impossibly closer, you guys now being chest to chest.

Your hands move from the slight stubble on his jaw to his hair, running them through his already messy curls.

This is most definitely NOT how you had expected your night to go but hey, who are you to complain?

I take a deep breath as I step onto the plane. I’m not a baby or a wimp but planes scare the shit out of me. The thought of being so high in the air with your life in the hands of two people just doesn’t sit right with me.

I find my row and put my overhead luggage away, sitting down in my assigned window seat. I pull my legs to my chest, drowning out the announcements and safety precautions as my blood goes hot and I feel my heart race.

This is the first time I haven’t had Matt next to me, holding my hand and telling me things will be ok and it sucks.

As I feel the plane start to move, I put my AirPods in, trying to find anything on my phone to distract me. I open my camera roll, surprised to see a unfamiliar video of Matt there.

As the video plays, I forget about my surroundings, feeling as though Matt is right there with me. He talks about anything and everything, constantly making me giggle.

At the end of the video he mentions a playlist before leaning forward to kiss the camera.

“Mwah. I love you baby, you’ll be ok.”

Smiling to myself, I go to my downloaded music to find a bunch of our absolute favorite songs.

The one that played at the diner on our first official date, the one we danced to in his kitchen late at night, the one that I played while we cried our eyes out after watching titanic. Each song connects to a moment; a memory.

I let out a sigh of content as I lean back, turning the music up. Even though Matt’s a million miles away, he’ll always find a way to be there; to comfort me. I don’t know where I’d be without him.

Nick, Matt, and Chris sit on the floor across from some close friends who came to spend their 20th birthday with them. They’d decided to keep it small this year to make memories with the people that mean the most to them. But only one person was missing. You.

“You guys really didn’t have to do all this” Matt says as he tosses balled up wrapping paper at the garbage bag Madi’s holding, missing by a mile.

“C’mon man, it’s the big 20. Of course we had to get y’all special gifts” Nate responds, successfully throwing that piece into the bag.

“Speaking of special giftsss” Nick drags out as he stands up.

“We’ve got one more for you” Chris finishes as nick quickly exits the room.

Matt grows increasingly concerned as Chris wiggles his eyebrows at him, his lips curling into a smirk. He has no idea if he should be scared for whatever Nick and Chris planned for him or happy because they (maybe) did something thoughtful.

Feeling a tap on his shoulder, Matt turns around, freezing as he sees the smiling girl standing in front of Nick.

“Y/n?” He whispers mostly to himself as his eyes begin to well with tears.

“Surpri- aw Matty what’s wrong?” You say, your smile faltering the slightest bit.

Matt doesn’t respond, instead wrapping you in a bone-crushing hug. He picks you up, spinning you around as your legs automatically wrap around his waist.

“Awh Matt I missed you tooo” you giggle as he sets you down, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose.

“I can’t believe you’re here” he smiles brightly, enclosing you into a hug once more.

He mouthes a ‘thank you’ over your shoulder to his two smiling brothers standing a distance behind you. Who knew how much he really needed this.
