So we’ve learned that Cove is an ok cook. What about Derek and Baxter?

Derek is quite 'good' in that he's effective and doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but the food he makes is based on the concept of 'healthy yet convenient'. He's not doing anything that would impress people with how amazing the meals look/taste.

Baxter is a lazy, bad cook in Step 3. He simply does not want to be bothered with that. He might be the 'best' in Step 4 because as an adult he takes an interest in trying to create more fancy/restaurant style things and is able to do it.

Hi, Hello! I was wondering, not sure if someone already asked this, but what is/are the ideal number of children does the OL ros want?

Cove: One. He's very nervous about having any kid to care for. One child would at least make it simpler.

Derek: Three or four. A big family would be great!

Baxter: None is his default, but if they're having kids he'd say two. He thinks the MC and their relationship with Liz is lovely and was lonely being an only child himself.

But all of them would be willing to have more or less or none, depending on who they marry!

How can we get Derek to confess in the new DLC?

To pursue Derek romantically you need to be at Love/Crush with him and not be in love with Cove. It's fine to have multiple crushes, but you can only be in love with one guy.

Then to get Derek's main confession you need to not pursue the deal in Step 4- either by not accepting it in the first place, forgetting about it, or thinking about how you want to be with him for reasons besides the deal. When promoted during the first day, you have to decide that you do want the relationship to change/you want to be with Derek, but you don't confess to him yourself. In that case, Derek will confess near the end of the story. You can get together sooner by confessing yourself from the start.

There's a secondary confession that you get by agreeing to pursue the deal and then at the end, wondering if Derek wants to be with you for real without saying first that you want to be with him (it's kind of a hybrid of his confession and the MC's).

I noticed nobody has facial hair in the our life universe, would cove or cliff (or derek or baxter or anyone who could) ever consider growing it out? into a beard or even just stubble?

There is one guy who does have facial hair. Derek's daddy appears in Derek's DLC and he has a beard. The reason no one has stubble is that it was a little hard to pull off that kind of detail in the super sleek/shiny coloring style the game has. We did consider it, though.

Cliff, Derek, and Baxter might consider facial hair at some point in their life. Cove likely never would, haha.

Much like Cove has a thing for anklets, do Derek and Baxter have any accessories or jewellery that they consider really attractive/their thing? (examples being like glasses or bracelets)

Derek: Not really. To get his attention with what you're wearing you'd probably have to put on literal lingerie but that isn't a unique thing to find sexy, haha.

Baxter: Nail polish, false lashes/heavy mascara/naturally long eyelashes, and full suits (especially if they're expertly tailored).

Jorge is tallest, Derek is in the middle, and Nicolas is the smallest (though he's still a teenager in Step 4 and still growing. He'll probably end up a similar height to Derek as an adult).

Yeah, they are of latine descent, specifically from Mexico! Though, that's a couple generations back. Mr. and Mrs. Suarez were born in the US and so were their kids.

As far as the OL1 boys: Who of the three is the most sexually active?

Well, it depends. If the guy is in a relationship with the MC and they wanna regularly have sex than that one would be the most sexually active. But if they're with an MC who's not that interested in sex than they wouldn't be the most active.

Cove stays single by choice and doesn't pursue sexual encounters at all if he doesn't end up with the MC.

Baxter and Derek are pretty similar in terms of amounts when not with the MC, but for very different reasons. Derek is too busy, by choice 'cause of his own issues, to have a consistent relationship through most of the story. Though he doesn't have a hard time getting shorter/one-off encounters when interested. Baxter is more proactive and tries a lot harder to bond with others, but either fails to have his interest reciprocated 'cause he's too forward or he instantly backtracks if someone does actually start getting into him, so his relationships are inevitably short/inconsistent.

I hope you don't mind, but with the ability to hold off on telling Cove about the 20 dollar incident until Step 4, I'd like some sort of assurance that he doesn't get outright angry with MC if you do that? I know with the sort of game this is that's unlikely, but combine that with the fact that it's possible to be married to him at that point and you've kept that from him for so long, it just gives me a little anxiety to go into it blind - I don't mind if it is the case I just need a heads up ^^

He can find out in the normal course of Step 4 or the Wedding DLC. In Step 4 he does get upset, but it's anxiousness of his own rather than anger. He feels better in the end, though.

In the Wedding DLC he gives the MC and his dad a bit of a hard time, but he's way too happy to really care.

I'm sorry if this was already asked aha but did you ever say why shiloh doesn't like cove? I know in the game it's mentioned that they are indifferent to each other because they hung out only cause of other people they knew but recently you said "shiloh thinks cove sucks" which is a bit more...hostile? is there a reason for it other than cove's bluntness as a child?

Shiloh is an enigma with no canon motivations/feelings later in life but as a kid there are actual specifics. He dislikes Cove because he's simply not very nice. Shiloh can be perceived as a soft meek boy, but more accurately he's a cowardly mean kid who doesn't say what he's truly thinking (most of the time, there is that scene from Sandcastle). Cove doesn't improve Shiloh's life in any way, so he can already get lost just for that.

But what's worse is that Cove is a potential problem for him. Shiloh is scared of other kids, he is cruel/judgemental and knows from experience that other kids are too. Not every kid is terrible of course, but some are and Shiloh is personally convinced they all are, even if they're not always direct about it. Cove lives in the neighborhood and Shiloh just visits. What if Lizzie, Cove, and the MC do all these things together that he's not apart of? Someone's gotta be at the bottom of the pile and if it's not Cove, it's gonna be him. So it's gotta be Cove and Shiloh will gladly exclude him.

The bouquet toss made me wonder if Cliff would ever consider marrying again? I know relationships aren't a priority to him, but if he were ever to find someone he clicked with, would he marry at any point in the future? Or would he prefer having a life partner without marriage?

It's not impossible that he'd marry again. He never would while Cove was still at home, but yeah, maybe it could happen later in life. However, he'd also be perfectly happy with his good friends around and staying single. And if you asked me what happened in the end, I would say he likely doesn't remarry.

Hello, big fan of OL1 since shortly after it came out and I've really enjoyed all the additions that you've released since. My absolute favorite character in OL1 is Lee and I was wondering if there was anything about her that her creator mentioned but you weren't able to implement in the game? Besides the fact that she's bi. I'm not expecting her to show up in either Derek or Baxter's DLCs (though I would love it!), so I figured it was safe to ask this now. Thank you!

It's been a long time since she was first created. I think she's very well-traveled and goes abroad with her family pretty often and that her parents are good people who she doesn't have a ton of strife with. But unfortunately I don't remember most of the things about her that didn't come up in the game. It's great that you like her, though!
