In the past few months, I have really gotten into collecting Masters of the Universe Origins.
Before, I was only after the Skeletor figures, but now... all bets are off. It all started when a number of figures showed up at Dollarama, a discount chain here in Canada. I couldn't pass them up, and that opened up the floodgates to all of this.
I'll talk more about it in a long form post on my website some day soon.

Ninjatron Style - Ash and Pikachu
I was showing my students in an online How to Draw Anime class all about Super Deformed style characters and asked them to name a character that I should draw in the big head style. Ash Ketchum from Pokemon was the one we settled on. I just did a sketch at the time to get the point across, but I liked it well enough to actually finish it later.
Commissions are available! If there is a character you want to see me draw in this style, get in touch through my commissions page here: sykografix.tumblr.com/art
I worked on this while streaming. Follow my Twitch channel and watch my streams here!

Digging this out from the archive of things I never posted but meant to. Images of Transformers Generations Selects Abominus and Volcanicus I took while unboxing. That feeling of opening of such large boxes and seeing the array of pieces inside is something that fills my heart. You don鈥檛 get it very often these days. Too bad Abominus isn鈥檛 very good, but more on that later.

Ninjatron Style - Battle Armor Skeletor
As you may know, it's my tradition to draw Skeletor from Masters of the Universe every October. It's Skeletober! This time, I drew his Battle armor. I worked on this one at the very end of October of 2023, but I got sick in November and couldn't put the final touches on it until much later. We've got Panthor too! I really tried to capture the look of the original toys in my style, as well as taking inspiration from the artwork featured on the toy packaging.

Star Wars Day 2023 - Queen Amidala
I worked on this art for Star Wars day in 2023, but I never finished it until the very end of the year, when I figured I should probably get back to it. It's kind of an anime style Queen Amidala, but in a painty-pastel style using my own Custom Brushes in Clip Studio Paint.

Here are some toys that I opened the last time I did a live unboxing stream, and a picture of the boxes I planned to open beforehand. I didn't get through everything I wanted to, but what I did open was a lot of fun.
The main focus was on opening up the Transformers Legacy Armada Universe characters, and they do not disappoint. Commander class Optimus Prime is an especially incredible figure. Both Optimus and Megatron are fantastic modernized take on the original figures from 2002. Starscream is pretty great and Hotshot is decent, but lacks some defining characteristics to me.
I'm sure I'll post more pictures here in the future.
Still plenty more figures still in their boxes to go through! Maybe next year.

Work in Progress TMNT Michelangelo.
I've been sick for awhile so a lot of Internet stuff got neglected. I'm trying to pull myself back up but it's taken awhile. Anyway, I'm still working on new art and other things so there will be more to share in the future. For now, here's the latest thing I'm working on.
I did 2 Ninja Turtles illustrations last year and I wanted to do 2 more this year, but I guess it's getting to be too late. So I'll probably only finish this one before the year ends. I worked on this while streaming on Twitch but nobody watched. Oh well. I had fun drawing by myself and I'll probably keep working on it next time I stream.

Here's everything I opened during my latest Transformers toy unboxing on my Twitch Channel. It was a fun time just clearing out toys from the backlog of boxes that have accumulated over the past number of months, some of which have been waiting to be opened for a long time!
What hasn't been around for too long, though, is the Deadeye Duel 2 pack from Amazon. It just shipped recently and features Kaskade and Javelin, 2 characters I honestly don't know anything about. I hear they are from the most recent IDW comics, which are not being published anymore. So much for that. Hey, whatever. It's 2 new female Transformers who are snipers and that's interesting to me.
Skullgrin is pretty interesting even though he's a bit of a compromise. I wish he was more organic and monstrous like the original 1988 Pretender figure, but I kinda like what we have anyway.
Also, there are 3 coneheads, and only one of them is a G1 character. Dirge is pretty great, and the other two I have there are cool and all, but we need another chance at Thrust and Ramjet.

More toys! Here's everything I opened up during my latest toy unboxing stream on Twitch. It was a fun time with a lot of great discussion.
Some interesting figures in this batch. Needlenose is especially cool, and I'm glad to finally have Velocitron Scourge in my possession. It's a shame that Megatron has color shifted a bit, but I suppose I can live with it. I'll go into more detail on some of these figures in the future.

When I opened up Studio Series Wheelie during the stream, I had totally forgotten that he was supposed to come with the tiny slingshot accessory. It was still stuck in the cardboard insert that I threw away. I had to dig through the recycling bin to find it. Good thing pick up day hadn't happened yet this week!

Here's everything I opened during my last Transformers unboxing stream on Twitch. The focus was on getting the 5 Legacy Stunticons together to form Menasor, and let me tell you, what a winner that figure is. It's awesome! I'll talk more about it later.
Because it took longer to get the 5 pieces all opened up, converted, and combined, I didn't open as much as I typically would, but I did open a few other pieces, most notably the Buzzworthy Bumblebee Creatures Collide set.
Anyway, there is still plenty more to unbox, so let's do it again!

Here are the loose figures I brought home from TFcon Toronto 2023, and I'll be honest, I'm not that happy with much of what I got.
First, the good. I bought Siege Brunt, Siege Hound, and Earthrise Fasttrack from a room sale, and they are all great, though Brunt's shoulders are kind of loose and I don't know if that is a common issue or not. But I can't complain for the price that I paid.
I also bought Siege Thundercracker at the same room sale, but unbeknownst to me, it has some additional stickers on it. I know some people are all about customizing their figures like that, but I have no interest in that stuff. I'd rather just have the figure as it was released.
I bought a number of figures from the charity auction, and that is a great thing in general, but I'm pretty disappointed. Almost all of them are missing something. Power of the Primes Jazz has no armor piece that becomes a combiner hand. Cybertron Red Alert is missing the Cyber Planet key. Those I could tell were missing and I suppose I can live with it. But I bought a bag of basic Autobots that was missing a number of Energon pieces that I doubt I'd ever be able to find on their own. And the Titans Return Blaster, which I was the highest bidder on, did not include his weapon. It did include 3 of the compatible cassettes, but one of them is missing its weapon and another is covered in stickers making it into some completely different character, which as with the Siege Thundercracker, is not something I am interested in. If I knew these things I wouldn't have bid.
I don't mean to dissuade anybody from buying at the charity auction, it's a fun event for a great cause. Maybe I should have paid more attention to what was being sold at the time, but I was under the impression from the rules for donating that only complete figures would be accepted. I don't think I'll be buying loose figures from the auction again.
You can see all the boxed stuff I picked up here.

My TFcon Toronto 2023 Haul!
Here's everything I brought home from TFcon this year! Actually, no, these are all the boxed items. I did buy some loose figures as well, but I'll save those for a separate post. Some people seem to think that I bought a lot! I guess maybe this is more than some people would buy, but I still have money left over so I don't feel like I over extended. Also, some things were already paid for and arranged to be picked up at the show months ago, specifically most of those from the Velocitron Spedia 500 Collection and the War Dawn set, so do those even count as part of a TFcon haul? Whatever, here they all are.
In general, I was picking up figures to catch up on what had come out in the past year or so, like the various Legacy Evolution deluxes. I also went ahead and bought a Legacy Armada Universe Megatron, which is just starting to find its way to retail, as well as a Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron to complete the duo of Aaron Archer designed Megatron remakes. But there was another Megatron besides them, the Walmart exclusive War for Cybertron one, which I mostly bought because it came with Pinpointer, the Targetmaster partner for Crosshairs. The color on that Megatron seems to have shifted a bit, as seems to be typical of this figure. I wonder what it will look like when I get it out of the box. Rounding things out is a Siege Soundblaster from Japan, which has the Mercenary faction symbol.
The big pickups for me were the Commander class Motormaster as well as Wildrider, the last 2 pieces I needed to complete Menasor. I'll be unboxing and putting them all together to form the giant robot on live on my Twitch channel! I'm happy to finally be able to put the combiner together. It's felt like a project getting them all. Finally, I picked up 3 figures that had eluded me until now. Siege Spinister, Earthrise Allicon, and Earthrise Bluestreak. These were not cheap, but it's not like they are ever going to get easier to find! So I made it happen then and there, and now I don't need to think about it anymore, which is probably worth it.
Anyway, fun times, except for the part when I had to pack it all up and figure out how I was going to take it all home. I'll post on my main weblog on SykoGrafix.com soon.
