𝕯𝖆𝖇𝖎 ; Analogies
So I was talking about this with friends in disco but the fanon of Dabi being blasted out of his mind on drugs 24/7 is one I hate sm, because like, yeah, there is something very wrong with him but its more in the spooky / undead vein than anything else and I would think that is so obvious. Like I guess that fanon got popular before all the background "reveals" for him but at the same time Nomu always existed as a thing. ( Undead/reanimated human corpses ) so it kinda baffles me how the fandom took a look at Dabi and just said "its hard drugs" keeping in mind he's literally inspired by stuff like the revenant zombie and frankenstein's monster.
Like anyway, fanon sucks in general but my point is I'm sexy and big brained so I choose to go a bit harder on those horror inpsos because of course I do, but since canon fully supports me on it I gotta also point out as bizarre as it is, it would even appear that parts of dabi's body have fallen off in the past.
I mean for one we can see its pretty obvious Dabi's entire face could come apart if not for the staples in his cheeks and chin but theres also the fact that Hori did an art piece where we can see Dabi's tongue is stapled on as well. That seems to indicate it could have fallen off at one point. Literally theres no other reason for the tongue staples otherwise.
There's a similar implication with one of his arms, its stabled right around. And like I said, we saw with Dabi's face the staples aren't there for the aesthetic, they're actually holding him together. And like, yes, we know when Dabi burned he lost pretty much all of his lower jaw and obviously his tongue would have been part of the area that was damaged/completely burned away, but we're still aware that when Dabi initially awoke after being "reconstructed" by Garaki, his grafts weren't as pronounced ( They were normal and seemingly "healed" ) and he didn't have/need staples to hold himself together.
So yeah, this means even if his tongue was replaced/reattached, there came a point where it either fell off or stated to, hence he had to staple it on. Like I've kinda mentioned before Dabi's scars/burns are def going through a type of dehiscence, meaning his grafts/scars are discolored and separating from the parts of his skin that are not serving as constant ignition points for his quirk. This gives Dabi a "rotting" appearance, again, like a zombie.
On top of this, its canon info that Dabi just smells like burning skin and death. Like thats his essence. Mirko specifically makes comments about it which are present in Hawks report so. Yeah. Endless points for the zombie aesthetic and due to the fact we also know Dabi is somehow able to "stay alive" after suffering burns and injuries that would easily kill ANY normal person with NO other reason for why it hasn't killed him, I'm pretty chill going ahead and saying Dabi is some type of undead already. Like some type of "accidental" proto-Nomu. I don't particularly care if thats a specifically canon thing but i think thats the suggestion and none the less it truly makes no sense otherwise so it will pretty much be canon to this portrayal.
Like its also been outright stated he is supposed to be dead. Canon claims the only reason Dabi is alive ( And I use "alive" very dubiously, for all these reasons ) is because of his hatred/anger. Which again this is the exact concept behind folklore's revenant zombies. They're human bodies who are dead but also alive/function as if they're alive or rather are heavily between dead and alive so they "function" as if they're "living" but also sometimes have "hints" of their true nature of being a pesky type of undead, like not fucking dying from injuries that should kill them or having bodies that are lowkey "rotting" like the more "popular" zombie type.
Similarly, Dabi also seems to heavily draw reference to the Onryo of japanese myth, which is also a vengeful undead or spirit and very similar to a revenant zombie. Onryo are also usually depicted in white gowns/kimonos and, well, dabi's final battle outfit is strikingly reminiscent of this.
The other big difference between revenant zombies and the zombies we're used to in pop-culture nowadays is revenant zombies don't usually loose any human intelligence, memory or personality and/or they don't typically lust for human flesh/brains. Though, given most of them "stay alive" or "come back" due to an insane grudge/hatred of someone/thing that wrong them they are often extremely bloodthirsty and revenge driven which continues to fit Dabi to a T, so yeah, thanks for coming to my latest useless ted talk !

@obey-n-pay 𝖜𝖍𝖎𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖉 ; " what the hell did you do ; tap - dance all over the body with ice - skates ? " | blood, blood, gallons of the stuff
He thought he had time for a little snack, but he may have slightly misjudged this as Vox appeared, now standing there looking mortified by the mess he'd made of the demon who had approached him earlier. Young people had no manners; how could he help it ? In his hand, he held a strip of flesh, rendered from the bone in his earlier frenzy, something he'd initially planned to keep for later.
❝ In a manner of speaking, ❞ he answered, his smile firmly fixed on his face as he gave an exaggerated shrug of innocence, a silly display so alarmingly contrasted by the evident guilt strewn and splattered all around him. With that, his eyes fell to the chunk of meat he still held between his claws and narrowed slightly with his widening grin as he extended it to Vox in offering.
Hell was crawling with cannibals, more than one might think. Some might never have dreamed of eating another of their own kind until they got here. The right environment could always make bad become worse. Though he didn't have a clue if Vox was one of these demons, it only felt polite to offer. ❝ Care for a bite ? ❞

𝕯𝖆𝖇𝖎 ; Sensory Perception.
Anyway, I was suppose to post this for sunday but I didn't do that because what is the flow of time so I'm gonna post it today instead and we're gonna pretend its sunday because I do what I want anyway and this is kinda important regardless !
I touched on this slightly before but I'm one of those people that studies stuff and is annoying so heres some more cursed info for you: I mentioned Toya's nervous system is kinda messed up, which has dulled and jumbled his sensory perception. This has a particular impact on his ability to detect and understand pain / painful sensations. As it stands right now Dabi resembles someone who suffers from CIP, however he doesn't actually have CIP since he was able to feel pain normally before his burning, but yeah, in a nutshell his current condition looks very much the same as CIP.
And while it also means he doesn't really have "erogenous zones" due to these dulled / ruined sensors, sexual simulation is registered in a different way to usual sensations, because usually the human body is determined to fuck no matter the condition its in, so he can still become aroused and feel "pleasure" psychologically ( Finding someone attractive / finding something sexy ) and through genital contact/stimulation.
So since his brain CAN pick this particular sensation of "pleasure", if, during the act, a partner was to scratch him, bite him, pull his hair, or anything like that which might normally register "pain / discomfort", his brain would instead register these sensations as additionally pleasurable. Its not a really a matter of finding pleasure in the pain due to the natural adrenaline and endorphin rush a normal body reacts with upon being "hurt", because the problem with Toya's body is it doesn't actually register the "hurt" sensation in the first place, so its rather because he's actually detecting the "pain" as pleasure outright.
He wouldn't realize he's being "hurt" or necessarily where he's being "hurt" because his body wouldn't necessarily tell him were the sensation is even coming from, it would just be heightening whatever pleasurable / arousal sensation he was already feeling during the act.
As a result he's not really a "masochist" and he doesn't seek out this type of thing, both because he doesn't understand it as what it is and because his body doesn't normally register these sensations outside of sex.

𝓦𝖊𝖘𝐤𝖊𝖗 ; Voice & mannerisms.
I'm REPOSTING about this due to being displeased with Wesker's new VA: while Wesker is 100% American ( I HEADCANON ) he spent a fair proportion of his late childhood probably from 12 up until he was about 16 in Britain on and off. This was HIGHLY intentional -references to Spencer-
So no, Wesker is in no way British. Although its common for people to assume he is based on his ‘accent’ and the fact he also tends to use very British / English sayings and phrases, furthering the illusion / confusion as to where he is actually from. Wesker’s “accent” itself is actually very "transatlantic” which was an accent popular for the upper class of America in the older days which is cited as a hybrid between American and British vernaculars.
This is something Wesker picked up “naturally” as he is American by origin but due to his environment and being surrounded by upper-class brits, equally in some of his formative years, it just kinda happened, not to mention Wesker's childhood took place through the 60s and 70s when this was still common in upper society and was in fact still a thing through the 80s and 90s. Ultimately, perfect etiquette and “proper” speech was highly expected of him so Wesker’s not exactly trying to sound like a snotty pompous fuck, he just is one. He was raised this way.
Don’t worry though, you can def bring out the vulgar, slang happy American in him. He tends to alternate depending on his mood / environment. This is more common when he's alone / or just not giving a single fuck about who he's with / talking to. It usually happens when he's not planning to entertain an ongoing relationship with his company.
S.T.A.R.S being a much less formal environment got a SLIGHTLY less “proper” version of Wesker. Slightly. While he def maintained a strong sense of professionality this was the time you were most likely to hear Wesker drop a curse in casual convo. ( though it probably wasn’t even noticed given the speech on the REST of the usually VERY “unrefined” S.T.A.R.S members. )
Also despite typically using “proper English” he's a lot less formal and polite than some people think because TBH Wesker has a limited circle of people he respects. If you don't mean anything to him / cant do anything for him, and he just feels the need to be an ass for either of these reasons, he’s quite rude and short. Actual vulgarity is less common but man is it in him and can JUMP out depending on whether or not he's mad / frustrated.
TYPICALLY I imagine its pretty fucking “scary” experiencing breaks or slips in Wesker’s snobbish, proper vernacular since yes, the demonic vibes are real and if Wesker starts getting snappy and crass it means you’re in danger, the mask is slipping, so run ! As I mentioned on Wesker's page, this is the elite Wesker voice to me.

𝕷𝖔𝐤𝖎 ; Transmogrification
Things I wanna mention for no particular reason: Loki has green eyes. I know Tom’s are more blue but Loki’s are like a jade green. ( Also described as emerald but like fair/pure emerald. Yea they’re most def green for me lol. )
He doesn’t grow a lot of body hair, this seems to be a Frost Giant thing. They grow almost no body hair probably due to evolving this way in the freezing climate and being literal ice beings they don’t have much need for it. They don’t need to warm themselves with it, it serves little purpose other than to pick up unneeded frost or icicles. This is also the reason most Frost Giants seem to shave their heads. ( we didn't see ONE Frost Giant with hair ) It could also be possible that they don't develop hair at all naturally and Loki’s only exists to give him a more Asgardian appearance.
Loki didn’t revert to their Jotun form at the TVA because he never developed as one. I don’t really have a science-y smart explanation for any of this other than to say I think Odin’s enchantment affected Loki on more than just a superficial level and I believe an “”enchantment”” ( Using the term because I don’t know a more suited one. Its more of an augmentation, or better yet a transmogrification. I think the term enchantment gives people the impression its something less than it is imo ? ) that powerful and that long standing couldn’t have been undone by the TVA like any other simple spell or mystical manifestation.
When I say I think the enchantment affects Loki in more than just a superficial way I think it affects him biologically as well. He didn’t develop as a Frost Giant. He developed as an “Asgardian.” Even if he was naturally a Frost Giant he’s been altered on a level beyond the superficial. If Loki was never enchanted and developed as a frost Giant he would have developed ridges and hard “crests” of bone on their body, their natural markings would have became more prominent/defined. Loki does not possess these things because the “Jotun form” we’ve seen Loki have is really just a shallow reflection of their lost natural self. Loki would also be far, far more adapted to and preferential to the cold.
Loki has no idea what he would really look like. In fact, Loki’s never even seen their full self in “Jotun form”. They've seen their skin on their arms / hands is blue, but they've never seen their full self. Either way whatever we see of this form is incomplete. Immature. They're similar to the way they were as an infant. Blue skin, red eyes, faint markings. They don't have any of the characteristics of a “mature” frost giant because again, he didn’t develop them.
Furthermore extreme cold doesn’t revert Loki back to their Jotun form. He can be in a freezing environment and never change. He also DOES feel the cold but not entirely to the extent of others, which he isn’t aware of because he could not know what extent someone else is feeling something. Someone might say “its cold” and Loki would agree, but that doesn’t mean he’s feeling it to the same extent, nevertheless there isn’t an extreme difference here. Loki’s skin may also be also slightly cooler to the touch, and he may have a cooler core temperature but again nothing of this is extreme or overly noticeable
The only way you would tell the difference between Loki and a normal anyone is prolonged exposure to freezing cold would have a negative effect on a normal being, frost bite, ect, it wouldn’t really have an adverse effect on Loki though. He would be cold but not in the same way they are, and that would eventually show. Nevertheless, he dresses warmly when its ‘cold’, he takes warm baths, he sits by the fire, he notices when its “cold”, ect Although he might not notice a sharp drop in temperature as quickly as someone else.
Extreme heat does effect Loki but extreme heat effects everyone. The more obvious difference is that extreme heat quickly makes him catatonic and sick and can still be very dangerous to him in prolonged instances. Again though this isn’t exactly uncommon for anyone. While someone else might be able to sweat it out, Loki’s more likely to just shut down and possibly die, meaning he’s a little less tolerant but this really depends on circumstance.
Hope this makes sense here. What I’m trying to say is yes while there are minor differences theyre not extreme or noticeable. Loki’s not like a Frost Giant any more, hes more like an Asgardian. Yeah there are traces of their natural self but they’re just biological memories really. If that makes sense ?
They've further taught themselves to handle fire and has a talent for elemental/mystical fire which they have tought themsleves through slight masochism and sheer perseverance.
Generally though Loki likes warmth, they probably likes it more than others because they can use it as a kind of sedative for themself. A warm bath ? Sitting by a fire ? Rugged up in a blanket ? They love these things because they can get a really strong relaxing effect from them.
What caused any change in Loki’s outward appearance was A) The Casket of Ancient Winters, presumably created by Frost Giant magic and B) The mystical touch of another Frost Giant who was TRYING to use his innate elemental magic to freeze-burn Loki.
So yeah, it takes more than ice or freezing weather to cause any change in Loki’s outward appearance no matter how cold and ultimately Loki’s “Jotun form”, when it is caused to surface, is more of like memory his body has as opposed to his actual state of being. He can’t just revert back to it. Nothing will revert him back to it. The “enchantment” can’t really be broken or undone because its so much more than superficial.
A frost giant Loki would be different to the Loki we know. It wouldn’t just be Loki w/ blue skin and red eyes.
ANYWAY THIS GOT LONG BUT YEA. Stuff I’ve been thinking about lately.

𝓥𝖊𝖈𝖓𝖆 ; Stranger things VR.
About 80% of my brainrot thoughts lately are about bnha/mha, which is why Dabi is the only muse/blog I've been active on lately, however, the other 20% of my thoughts have def been about Henry, especially with the VR game trailer and ofc, The First Shadow, which is bound to send me insane again. But like, what I wanted to mention was, I've extensively studied what little we have in the VR game trailers and I have thoughts about it I've been meaning to share. I kinda mentioned this on discord a while ago but fuck it I'm gonna make a post about it because thats the autism way for me.
So like I think, theres sort of an idea being pushed with the VR game that Henry/Vecna really is the one who controls all of the upside down and the creatures there are pretty much mindless without him and theres not another force at play and you already know at length why I Do Not Vibe with that. And no it has nothing to do with being a "Vecna apologist" w/e the hell the fandom keeps banging on about. Like if you don't think I can't write and stan evil bastard who is an evil bastard just for the sheer thrill of being an evil bastard you're not paying attention and you don't know me.
But like, for me, with Henry, it's entirely because I'm a huuuge Cosmic and Religious horror fan and I feel like this wouldn't be in line with the other heavy suggestions from canon in season 4, and the fact that Cosmic and Religious horror is something the Duffers seem to be playing heavily into everywhere else, INCLUDING in The First Shadow. I mean, fr, look at the last trailer for The First Shadow and tell me no. Its so explicit at this point there isn't a need for 20 k word meta/hcs/theories from me to point it out anymore.
SO while its always been a possibility that the Vecna/Upside down/Mindflayer thing has always just been as simple as "Evil guy takes over alien lifeforms and uses them to do his evil bidding" I'm going to hold on to the idea that there is a lot more to it than that ! Because something else regarding the VR game is, even though its promoted as Vecna's POV, I think there is other POVs being shown in the game as well. I think, or maybe I'm just being delusional and holding on to my own personal take of things, maybe, but I feel like "Vecna's" POV is more an "Umbrella" for the entire UD.
In the sense that I wouldn't say his POV is going to be or is the only one being shown in the game. I feel like we're def gonna get POVs from Eleven, maybe some of the other characters and even, possibly, the monsters of the UD, but I think like, Eleven and her friends aren't going to be the ones we're controlling. Its gonna be largely Vecna and the UD residents we're playing through the eyes of.
And like, maybe Vecna is the only "humanly intelligent" thing in the UD, I play to that idea myself, particularly in the sense that yeah vecna's "humanly intelligent" but there are other forms of intelligence and what I like to portray from the ud is that while nothing else in there is "human" and most of it is "animalistic", like the demogorgons, specifically the mindflayer entity and the "hivemind" is something else. Like you're never supposed to interpret those things as 'human' or animal if you get what i mean ? but i'd probably need a whole other post to talk about that specifically and i don't know if everyone gets what i'm going for because like cosmic horror isn't for everyone and its not like i haven't wrote huge posts about that stuff before anyway.
But anyway, obviously when I think about it like that it makes the game a lot more exiting for me. Also there seems to be an idea there that Vecna can fly ? I'm not sure whether we're suppose to take those snippets of scenes as his POV or as the POV of something else ( coughmindflayercough ) which is why I'm thinking like ... I don't think Vecnas POV is the only one we're gonna play from, its just sort of an Umbrella term for the POV of everything else in the UD if that makes sense ? But we'll see.
Which isnt to say I don't think the idea of Vecna possibly being able to "fly" or anything isn't funny as hell. Imagine in season 5 they think they've got him cornered or something and the man just floats away majestically, thats killing me, love that for him.
Like we have sort of seen Vecna at least do something that might be considered "levitation" so idk, I don't think its extremely far out or anything ━ I also love the idea because we have that line of Mike telling El she's his Super Hero and she can fly and move mountains to him and like, ok, thats cute, but what are they gonna do if/when Vecna actually physically CAN do those things ? That suits all my X men / Magneto / Brightburn referencing here with him very deliciously ━ But yeah, I'm just having a lot of thoughts about it !!
And like, I also wanna say like, I may be entirely wrong about everything I've ever theorized, but if that turns out to be the case I kind of have no intention of changing any of my canon and the way I write things here. Tbh, with this blog I decided to just have fun and write my own crazy stuff using my own personal favorite horror flavors which is 95% what this blog is, so while I don't think I'm completely off on things in canon, I also don't fully expect all the insane horror fan stuff I've pulled out of my ass here to be exactly canon either, so like its whatever !
Maybe I'll have a separate verse for ""canon"" things if stuff I've wrote / theorized is proven to be DRASTICALLY divergent but ultimately my own insanity is always gonna be the main/default for my take on Vecna/Henry/The UD.

𝓥𝖊𝖈𝖓𝖆 ; The Upside Down
I'm due for a big old rambly headcanon post so lets do it. In light of a couple updates on the Stranger Things Writers account, including them promoting Evil Dead as relevant to Stranger Things in some way and recently adding a picture of the novel "A Wrinkle in Time" for the same effect, the brain worms are wiggling again !! I've personally referenced the Evil Dead multiple times regarding my theories/thoughts/headcanons on the Mindflayer so the ST writers account confirming "some part" of the Evil Dead universe is reflected and taken for inspo in Stranger Things excited tf out of me, and the content found in A Wrinkle in time continues to further add to my personal theories on that in particular as well.
I mean, A wrinkle in time is also loaded choc full of religious and spiritual themes, tied hand in hand with the supernatural and science fiction and I've mentioned that's precisely where Stranger Things is thematically ( Although the fandom doesn't seem to believe it. ) The dark amalgamation of religious, cosmic and sci-fci horror is genuinely my favourite thing about Stranger Things as a series.
Although being honest my PERSONAL headcanons and portrayal on Vecna and the Mindflayer are not necessarily meant to promote Christian values or Christianized views on morality or good vs evil as is the case with a Wrinkle in time. More to the opposite, actually.
As I've been over in another headcanon, personally, I more display the Mindflayer as "god", or an allegory of, rather than an allegory for Satan as seems to be more the case with "The Black Thing" in "A Wrinkle in time" and could very well be the case with Stranger Things canonly, but I also wouldn't say thats what Stranger Things is going for given we can't survey season 5 or how anything with Vecna and the MF is going to go just yet.
But none the less I'm excited by the little "updates" and the "clues" they're giving and I wanted to talk about a few of my insane weirdo takes as well involving Vecna and the UD specifically.
I've surely mentioned some of these things before, some in great detail, but others less so, so we're gonna run over some stuff again.
So, essentially as far as it goes in my HCs RN Vecna is the one who "shaped" the Upside Down to look like Hawkins. Like, I actually have two theories on this and I like them both but I'm using the slightly more insane one for my own writings and thats the one I'm mostly gonna be rambling about.
As far as my headcanons go and the one I'm CURRENTLY working with in threads and such is in a nutshell I think the "yellow / red world" we saw Henry and the Mindflayer in is more of a pocket dimension to ultimately what became the Upside Down. I'm probably not gonna be making a whole lot of sense here, especially if you haven't read my other HCs about the Mindflayer and Vecna, and the references I take from H.P Lovecraft, specifically Azathoth, Nyarlathotep and the Crawling Chaos.
But anyway, essentially the Shadow / Cloud mass isn't the mindflayer's true corporeal form. Its more a manifestation of the mindflayer's "Astral form" or some fragment of it anyway. And it was, shall we say, "trapped" in this "pocket dimension" before Henry linked up with it and freed it.
Because again, taking heavy inpso from Azathoth and myths surrounding the being from the HP Lovecraft universe, there is a concept that Azathoth was somehow "imprisoned", although as essentially the creator of all reality it can never really be contained or "stopped", Azathoth's omnipotence remains even in its discombobulated or 'unconscious' state.
And I'm very much going for the same vibe with the Mindflayer. Its true corporeal form is simply incomprehensible, and it interacts with the world through its 'dreaming' or 'astral form'. Another fun bit of info is if/when threads come up where Henry references concepts such as Inari's Web or figures in creation myths such as the Spider Grandmother, they're all actually related and connected to the concept of The Mindflayer and my likeness of it to Azathoth. The mindflayer is a thing that simply exists across and between multiple dimensions.
Though parts of it have been "contained" in some places, although how it got trapped in some places I haven't decided or specified yet but I like to think it had less to do with other cosmic deities deciding it needed to be stopped and more to do with its own "mindless" hunger.
So anyway, as I also mentioned and continuing with the weird horror theme, I portray the Upside Down as, quite literally, a living organism, ( I have done a pretty lengthy post on that in particular floating around on one of my blogs ) and potentially part of the mindflayer's actual corporeal form, a bizarre world that is the inside of a gargantuan deity that represents all reality.
A world that happens to be sitting parallel to the "cursed" town of Hawkins. Where Henry originates from. Truly, Henry coming to live in Hawkins was the worst thing to happen to Hawkins and probably the world because Henry was born "sensitive" in my HC. He was born with clairvoyant abilities. ( Its been suggested Victor could have been somehow "sensitive" as well given he is the only other character in the Creel family apart from Henry who had the sense of a "presence" in the Creel house. )
Due to Henry's clairvoyant abilities he was able to receive "transmissions" from "the Mindflayer", currently residing in the otherworld. It was because of the Mindflayer's influence that Henry's powers heightened the way they did. You could even say, in a way, it gifted him those powers and groomed him to take his eventual path with them. Not helped by Brenner, and the Lab at all of course because they're another huge factor in this.
The Mindflayer "chose" Henry to be it's intermedium. And I'm not going to say the Mindflayer always wanted to "Destroy the world" or that its "evil" or anything so "simple", because more the reality is that its just "hungry." It rots and consumes Hawkins for that far less morally aligned reason. Its indifferent to humanity and morality because both of those things are entirely beneath it. ( As Dustin explained in season 2, the Mindflayer thinks itself superior to.... Everything and if you are in fact an ancient cosmic deity wheres the fault in that logic exactly ? ) Destroying the world isn't its goal, rather, its not destruction, its renewal.
Because as I've also mentioned many times before I'm defo taking some inspo from the Legacy of Kain series and the depiction of the entity known as the elder god. Essentially the Elder god has an influence over life and death because it feeds on death, or rather it feeds on souls, but its not so simple because by feeding on souls the "elder god" also "spins the souls" back into the "wheel of fate", hence, while everything is destroyed by the elder god it is also renewed by the elder god. It is essentially the "cycle of life" or "fate" personified as a monstrous squid like abomination that resides in the "otherworld", that is depicted as a dark/warped version of normal reality full of monsters.
AND that is also a kind of aesthetic I'm going for here because I think it works and LOK is just another thing that I would be VERY SURPRISED if the Duffer bros and the ST writers didn't actually have in the piles of inspo because it def has so many similar elements to ST going on BUT THATS for another post.
Because ultimately I haven't fully decided if the MFs intentions are anything beyond "eating", I think its something that simply EATS and eats and death and destruction feed it, so it has a bit of a habit of influencing the world(s) around it to create death and destruction again for no big reason outside of this is its nature and its simply hungry but part of its feeding leads to 'renewal' because technically it is reality itself.
Which is also Henry/Vecna comes into it for me. Because as the human intermedium he's given this a human element. He brings the "human" side in. We cant fully comprehend why and how the mindflayer does what it does, but Vecna's different. He was human once, he still has somewhat human goals. In my HC, Vecna's aware of what the mindflayer is and he's heavily on the side of "renewal". Which is another human aspect of him; he's seen the good and the use in this unfathomable omnipotent thing that just rots and eats everything it touches. Ultimately, Vecna understands what the Mindflayer is, and he serves it, however, he's also using his link to it for what he thinks is good. He wants to change and "renew" the world and the Mindflayer is the key to that. Its a tool, but so is he. They're tools for each other.
The Mindflayer brings about judgement and destruction onto mankind and the corruption of human civilization, allowing Vecna to "reset" it, in his hopes into something better, meanwhile the Mindflayer uses Vecna to open the gates, to free it and thus supply it with a massive supply of "food" during all this that continues the unending cycle of life and death across all the universe.
But I haven't completely decided how much of Vecna's goals are influenced by the Mindflayer's "corruption" or direction because I also think that's an element as well. Cos for example, I think while Henry always wanted to use his powers to make a change in the world I don't think he ever wanted to destroy everything to rebuild it.
Another thing I personally take reference from and will be VERY shocked if the ST writers aren't as well, is Silent Hill, which I've mentioned a lot of times specifically surrounding the link between Henry and Will and Alessa and Cheryl and the similairties I think there could be there, but another element here for me is the fact Alessa and what was done to her is considered the catalyst for much of the terrifying shit going on in Silent Hill and its link to its "dark mirror", the other world, which looks near identical to Silent Hill except dark and twisted and full of monsters, and the lapse in dimensional barriers.
( Also as a fun note the "otherworld" of Silent hill is also depicted as the place "god" lives, so yeah ).
And this does in fact mirror Henry in a way given we can definitely say Eleven pushing Henry through to the Upside Down really "sealed the fate" of Hawkins and brings me to the fact that yeah, I headcanon Henry is the reason the Upside Down was reskinned to look like the Dark Mirror of Hawkins.
Why ? Because he wanted to build his own world, his idea of a better, safer one. This just becomes a little more literal, supernatural and psychological with Vecna and the Upside Down. There is a heavy "foreshadowing" to this in the scene with Eleven and Henry where Henry says "We could reshape the world. Remake it in anyway we see fit."
Henry reshaped the Upside Down to look as if it was Hawkins. And I wonder if a part of him did this to find his way home, since he returned to the Creel house and seemingly stayed there. We also know Vecna's version of the Creel house and the actual Creel house are not just direct copies of each other but they're also apparently in the exact same place as each other, and a lot of the Upside Down could be seen as a life sized "map" of Hawkins in a way.
But I also have the headcanon that after Vecna reshaped the UD for whatever reason or REASONS he did, that was it for him. He exhausted the power he had and went into hibernation mode. This feels like it could also be very true because there is no sign of Vecna anywhere until the back end of season 3.
And I feel like canon could have explained this with when they had Will mention the Mindflayer doesn't "activate" its minions, so to speak, until it needs them. It wouldn't have necessarily needed Vecna during season 1, because Eleven had accidentally opened the gate. The gate was "closed" in season 2 but a small fragment of the Mindflayer that had been expelled from Will had already escaped and went on to wreak havoc in season 3.
Season 3 apparently follows the Mindflayer’s attempts to kill everyone of a threat to it ( Specifically Eleven ) and reopen the gate , which fails, and then suddenly Vecna comes into it full force and opens the gates for it, and given the way the D*ffers and the writing crew have worked to tie S4 and the previous seasons together. I don't think Vecna's absence and appearance is coincidental or that Vecna was always just sitting around twiddling his thumbs waiting.
So what I’m saying for now is basically that Vecna/Henry made the Upside Down look like Hawkins. I’m not giving specifics for why, outside of the fact he had a longing for his own “ safe world“ but Hawkins was the only place he "knew" to based it off, and that Vecna also wasn’t an “active” presence in the UD or the initial invasion of Hawkins during season 1-2.
During season 1-2 Vecna didn’t have the power to actively participate in this. He was drained from using his powers to reskin the Upside Down and was in a semi comatose state. ( Although he is still present within the hivemind and thus had some understanding of what was going on through the mindflayer's interactions with Hawkins, the party and the demogorgons. )
The mindflayer officially “reawakened him” due to needing him to “reopen” the gates and he could do this after the Mindflayer absorbed Eleven's powers and transfered them to him to give him a jump start. The initial opening of the gate in S1 was an “accident” that occurred because of Brenner’s meddling with Eleven’s powers and, to put it in a very oversimplified and condensed way, once the mindflayer got “a taste” of the real Hawkins, it. wanted more and started upping the ante when it came to trying to “break out” or rather “merge” Hawkins with itself/the UD and perhaps this was always where it was leading to, given if Henry continued to use his powers the way he was he would also break the barrier of the UD and Hawkins.
So I also wanna say Vecna’s actions of reskinning the Upside Down may have ALWAYS been intended to to be part of a merger between Hawkins and the Upside Down but he ran out of juice before he could finish the job and it just so happened that Eleven’s contact with the Demogorgon finally popped a big enough hole in the barrier between the UD and Hawkins to really get the ball rolling on things again.
Anyways, like I said I do have OTHER theories and tbh I constantly think about the way the Demogorgans behave in the VR game and it just throws me out on a lot of stuff because you don't know how disappointed I'm going to be if the writers do some generic shit like the Upside Down was just an alien world that was conquered bc teh evils. Like that would feel very lame to me and hopefully I'm just reading too far into the few seconds we got from the VR game and NONE THE LESS my own personal headcanons seek to generally disregard whatever canon might be doing with any of this anyway.

𝕯𝖆𝖇𝖎 ; Fantasy verse
Okay, so, little notes first: A lot of this is being left intentionally vague because its intended to be more of a group thing than a stand alone but even so Fantasy AUs are sooo diverse and so many people have different ideas for them so I don't wanna lock anyone into anything should someone wanna write fantasy verse stuff with me so yeah, nothing here is set in stone and can be kinda altered as needed but the general outline of Dabi's fantasy verse is:
The Todoroki's are a royal/ruling family, the Todoroki house is generally thought of as the main ruling power throughout the fictional lands. Enji is the current king.
Toya's Enji's first born. He was the heir to the throne, of course, but he was also a little shit prince who liked to get up to mischief with his little brother. It wasn't exactly unusual for Toya and Natsuo to sneak out of the safety of the castle and go exploring in the neighboring woodlands. Unfortunately a spike of political unrest and Natsuo feeling ill one day made for a lethal combination as Toya decided to go out to play in the woods alone that day. He was snatched by rebels of a neighboring village. The goal was to use Toya to force Enji to comply with their demands at threat of murdering the Prince. Enraged by this king Enji put in place is own plan to take Toya back by force.
No one knows what the rebels were really thinking but before Enji even had a chance to assemble forces against them or give his formal answer to their wishes, Toya was grotesquely murdered. Much to the shock and horror of King Enji and Queen Rei. The king sought bloody retribution, the queen fell into cataclysmic despair and his never recovered. Recovering Toya's body, was another task considered failed by the king and while he lead the siege he and his men were only able to return with Toya's bottom jaw. The rest of the boy was apparently lost. Some claim he decayed into the earth and ash, or maybe the rebels took and hid his pieces around the lands as a final insult to the king. The details of this gruesome and tragic event remain the subject of many different stories.
This is where we enter the part of the plot/verse that deals with Shigaraki, AFO and Garaki. In this verse, the Demon Lord is in fact a very real thing, though he was considered vanquished, his spirit sealed in an alternative dimension many, many years prior by a fabled hero ( this would be Toshinori, ofc ) . Alongside Toshinori, King Enji had been a massive player in the vanquishing of the Demon Lord, who had dominated the lands prior to the era of relative peace known by the world today.
But despite the L, the Demon Lord's devoted servants live on, scattered across the kingdom and praying ( Read: actively working ) for the revival of their lord. One such servant is Garaki, a necromancer of sorts who, as evil necromancers do, gets up to all kinds of twisted misdeeds.
One of these misdeeds was to steal young Prince Toya's burned and broken body and cobble him back together. Supposedly he had hoped to integrate Toya into his legion of undead monsters but Toya seemed to have other ideas. Ripped back into the world of the living, it seemed Toya retained some pained version of his former consciousness. He became rebellious and escaped from Garaki's castle into the lands.
From here Toya would attempt to return home, only to find himself assailed on several occasions by villagers who perceived him as a monster, due to his heavily patched work appearance. He was captured by trafficking merchants who sold him to a colosseum where gladiatorial battles between "lesser races" and the remnants of the Demon Lord's previous monster army where carried out for entertainment.
One day, Toya discovered his father, the king would be attending one of these matches and desperately tried to obtain and audience with him. However, when Enji heard word that there was a monster in the colosseum "masquerading as his son" he was disgusted and publicly renounced the "imposter" and the colosseum itself, without ever actually offering Toya his audience.
Devastated and completely broken, Toya turned savage to survive and vowed revenge on his father. He participated in a bloody insurgence among the imprisoned colosseum fighters, who murdered their way to freedom. Once free, he eventually returned to Garaki, now ready to join the undead legions and their new leader, Shigaraki in their quest to lay waste to the kingdom.
Unknown to anyone, all of this has been a clever ploy to restore to Demon Lord to power. So yeah !! Thats the basics. I HAVE TONS of plot bunnies and def ideas for other main characters in this AU but like I said I kinda wanna leave a lot of stuff vague and adaptable so as not to shut anyone out of the verse and keep things as useable as possible since there are so many different fantasy AU takes and yeah, I wanna be able to edit and adapt the general base as much as possible.

5,6,9, 11, and 13 for Dabi. Intimate+Sexual headcanons
𝕯𝖆𝖇𝖎 ; Sexual Sunday meme.
what are the top kinks that your muse enjoys? & what are some/a kink that your muse wants to explore?: Dabi's not very kinky. Its not something he puts a lot of thought into. He's got a bit of an issue where flammable shit is very appealing to him and if it happens to come with someone he's attracted to yeah, wires get crossed and it gets erotic for him pretty easy. Man could do the shit out of some fire play but he wont because his fire isn't even just normal fire, given it tends to burn at the temp of lava by DEFAULT, as in, it can get hotter and its intensity is reliant on his emotions, and he struggles to control it so it'll always be a kinda repressed part of himself he can't fully express and would be afraid to try. ( For the safety of his partner, ofc. )
Its not really a kink but pain is jacked up in his dead sensory perception and if he's aroused it registers as pleasure so rough sex involving things like scratching and biting would go down well with him. He'd probably be considered to be someone with a praise kink as long as it wasn't laid on too thick. Because he doesn't wanna confront or think of that as a kink because it'd force him to know why that does it for him and he does not wanna go into that because he'd just find it too sad and cringey on his behalf.
He kinda likes hero costumes too. Some of them are intentionally very sexy so thats not a shock. Maybe he just gets a little turned on at the idea of fucking heroes in general ━ like the forbidden fruit factor, the risk factor, the ego stroke. Maybe some endytophilia / clothed sexual activity especially for himself because he'd feel very antsy about people seeing the full extent of his scars.
Do they prefer/tend to be dominant, submissive, both, or etc?: Dabi's kind of a funny case with this. He's technically a switch but he has a preference for topping and I think I probably explained it best on disco at one point so I'll just regurgitate what I mentioned there;
He has severe issues with being vulnerable / letting himself be vulnerable, with the life he's lived projecting confidence and never showing weakness is essential to survival, he has to constantly keep up this mask of being aloof and detached and "in control" and I don't even think he fully realizes he's doing it.
For him its just like reflexive now. Its how you stay alive. He can be submissive and all but never in a completely vulnerable way. He'll do what he's told to please and satisfy but that's still him being somewhat in control because he gets a personal kick out of thinking he's actually 'good enough' in some way. So when he fucks he really does fuck to please but that's kind of a more subconscious thing for him.
I think he also has some internalized issues and some sort of toxic masculinity mixed up in this stuff so its kinda not as simple as what position he likes to be in. Like he COULD bottom, he would probably enjoy it if he tried it, but he'd have to feel a lot of trust for the partner he's with. He couldn't be patronized or feel patronized in any way. He also doesn't really feel like he'd make a good bottom because he's kind of an asshole and doesn't view himself as having bottom qualities.
The trick with Dabi is honestly if you make him feel like he's in control he'll do anything and I think if a muse is smart/shrewd enough they can work that out about him very quickly and use it to their advantage and honestly its recommended cause Dabi's a real prickly / difficult customer otherwise, theres lots of shit wrong with him. I think Twice is like the only guy Dabi would bottom for off the bat just out of that comfort/trust.
What is your muses favourite, or most favoured, position/s?: From behind for certain people because the views nice. (Coughhawkscough) Cowgirl too, similar reason, with partner on top. Ride him, he'd be sooo into it because it also means he gets to be lazy and just lay there and enjoy things. Thats very appealing to him. Its being dominated but without the awkward hang-ups that come with actually being dominated/and/or penetrated.
Does your muse enjoy wearing something special in the bedroom: No, he wouldn't really be into it for himself. He'd be inclined to look at it as polishing a turd. I cannot stress enough how low his self-esteem actually is. Like the cool confident guy persona he projects is completely fake. He's neither cool nor confident at any time, hes the fake it till you make it type. But I guess he wouldn't complain too much if his partner wanted him to wear something special like a suit or something even if he'd feel a little stupid.
He probably enjoy the reverse though, like a partner dressing up for him. He'd still think its kinda silly but he'd appreciate the gesture, feel a little special that someone wanted to do that for him, and depending, on the outfit find it pretty hot in general.

𝕾𝖆𝖘𝖔𝖗𝖎 ; Symbolism.
ANON : “ Why does Sasori use Hiruko all the time when hes so ugly ”
That's actually a pretty good question anon ! So my thoughts are like yeah, Sasori is outwardly beautiful and eternally so which I do think there is some kind of element of vanity in but I guess maybe the best way to explain it is overall, Sasori is really the trope of distorted innocence which is a heavy theme surrounding objects like dolls in horror genres bc we relate dolls so heavily to children. Children love dolls and they're often human or animal shaped objects that a child can control / relate to since they're usually made to be representative of or desirable or just comforting to the child in some way: think baby dolls, barbie dolls, rag dolls etc.
Sasori is quite literally the Naruto worlds ultimate answer to the Doll Episode trope which is very common and effective in the horror and fantasy genre.
The dolls are being made to replicate/replace a lost loved one, such as a child, a spouse or a sibling. The dolls are made from human components, dead or otherwise. The dollmaker is obsessed with dolls for some reason, and has taken to preferring them over humans. Maybe even wishing humans were more like dolls. The dolls are possessed by an evil spirit, are Ridiculously Human Robots, or have otherwise become animated/alive and actively malevolent.
The dollmaker or collector will usually be a madman or woman who has taken a shine to the protagonists either as "something" to add to their collection, potential parts for their latest creation, or threats to themselves and their beloved collection, making them try to capture or kill them.
Sasori is literally every one of these elements combined and further he comes from the perspective of not just a disturbed adult but most strongly from the psyche of an extremely damaged child which is emphasized by the fact we do not see Sasori’s “ true self ” as a grown man. Hes forever in the body of a young boy. Trauma in children manifests itself in various different ways just like trauma in adults but sometimes traumatized children become very reliant on objects or tv shows, characters, etc for comfort and emotional support.
Things that aren't people, usually bc they've found people to be unreliable or a source of abuse/pain and thus they escape into or hide behind these ‘comfort objects’. Though the behavior is normal for very young children, children who never stop this kind of behavior and keep it going well beyond the age deemed appropriate to like certain things / carry around stuffed toys ETC are doing it usually because of trauma. Sometimes this is fine and not a problem for the person at all but sometimes is deeply unhealthy and does pose a problem for the effected person.
PS don’t take anything I say as gospel either ! Im not a professional or anything.
However, in my eyes Sasori is a deeply traumatised child. Puppets were an escape and a happy place for him. Somewhere he felt comfort. He tried to replace his parents with puppets to fill the void they left him with, he tried to make them love him like the real ones did. He took them to bed with him, gave them his pillows to sleep on. He spent a lot of time learning to make their movements lifelike so they could hug and comfort him the way his real parents did, it wasn't exactly the same but it was something he held on to to cope with their sudden departure.
This is all canon. In at least in my headcanon Sasori believed his mother and father puppets did ‘care for him’. He had this idea that there was a part of them in the puppets he made and whether that was true or not this idea was heavily reinforced when Sasori was pushed to become a shinobi, which he didn’t exactly have any objections to given he was only 6 and his mother, father and grandmother were all shinobi so it felt normal and good to be one himself. However, this is a massive fault of the Naruto world, child soldiers are not healthy or normal or good. Sasoris puppet parents, again in my HC, became his weapons. It gave them the illusion of protecting him because they literally were even if Sasori was the one controlling them.
Sasori may of “outgrown” these puppets but he never outgrew the attachment he had to puppets, rather this attachment gradually evolved when puppets became extremely idealised n intertwined with human life. The foundation for it was always there with how Sasori treated his parent puppets as “alive” in ways but the real problem came when Sasori started to relate living people / shinobi to puppets. He began trying to essentially make them one because he believed this was ideal not just because of his own personal trauma but because being a shinobi essentially meant being a weapon / object which human beings were ill suited while puppets were perfect.
Sasori was replacing the weak / unreliable / temporary / breakable with something strong / reliable / permanent / indestructible. Sasori was deeply effected by how much death and dismemberment he witnessed in the people around him, he sought to eliminate this issue. Puppets were his answer to everything. As this progressed he started disliking humanity entirely and clinging to his puppets as a source of shelter / refuge from humanity who swiftly began to judge him despite being the ones who set him on his path. In fact, in ways Sasori was basically ASKED to do what he did and when he did it suddenly everyone was against it. Its something Sasori couldn’t understand or handle. so Sasori went from wanting to breath life into puppets to simply wanting to make humans into puppets out a the deep dislike/distrust/betrayal he felt.
Komushi was Sasori’s first ‘ human puppet ’ but Sasori didn’t view Komushi as his own. He technically made Kumoshi for his mother. Needless to say despite the request its not what Kumoshi’s mother wanted.
There was a lot of pressure on Sasori to “preform” to help his village. To protect its people. Sasori outlived pretty much all shinobi tasked with the same job to the point where he started to believe in some way in the back of his mind that he alone was capable. He began to think if he just turned people into human puppets they couldn’t be beaten or destroyed because he wouldn’t allow such a thing.
Hiruko was Sasori’s first real creation for himself. No one asked him to build Hiruko, he didn’t build him to comfort anyone else. Hes kind of the first human puppet Sasori made when he began to do things for himself and not to help his village. In a way, Hiruko is linked to Sasori’s freedom, to Sasori choosing his art and “happiness” over his village’s desire for him to be a slave that follows orders and destroys himself for their betterment. He was done with that.
Essentially, despite Hiruko’s “ugliness” hes Sasori’s favourite toy and Sasori very much treats him the way a child treats a favourite toy. He goes everywhere with Sasori, Sasori relies on him out of comfort. Theres also the secondary element of convenience since he does mask Sasori’s true appearance giving him a disguise and hes literally a suit of armour as well. Sasori’s aware Hiruko is ugly but hes fond of him the way a child might love a teddy bear even if it the bear appears to others as gross and ratty and old and they could probably have a newer, prettier bear its not the looks that are important. Its The sentimental value and thus the comfort it provides.
I also personally view Hiruko as another symbol of that distorted innocence Sasori represents as I mentioned earlier. Sasori’s appearance is that of a young, beautiful, innocent serene looking youth which we know as his true form but rather, I see Hiruko as just as just as representative of the true Sasori, something more symbolic of Sasori’s soul. Something frightening, old, ugly and twisted and violent. They're both sides of the same coin. I think In some way, perhaps subconsciously Sasori relates to Hiruko this way as well.
LASTLY, before I ramble more bc omg I've never shut up a day in my life, Sasori and Hiruko are both representative literally of the scorpion. Sasori more spiritually and Hiruko more psychically. Scorpions are an armored, intimating animal with a venomous sting from their defensive and offensive tails. Scorpions are symbolic with healing, death, rebirth, passion, revenge, mystery.
Scorpions were thought to have the ability to heal just as easily as kill. Scorpions are both seen as evil and demonic as well as pure and angelic. They’re typically feared and also highly sacred. Theyre a symbol of deep emotion yet being an arachnid they’re also thought of as insectiod which simultaneously gives them the impression of being simply unfeeling and machine-like.
The scorpion represents a shy, gentle creature that prefers to keep to itself yet when needed its perfectly bold, magnetic and vicious. I think its really interesting to note how closely fitting Sasori is to the symbolism of scorpions if you look at them in various cultures and mythology and I've tied him very heavily to these concepts because I'm insane like that.
