Nascida em um dos invernos mais rigorosos da Rússia, Ekaterina foi dada ao pai durante uma nevasca sem nenhuma explicação de quem era ou a quem pertencia àquela criança. Muitos consideraram um milagre não ter morrido congelada, uma vez que as temperaturas estavam negativas. Ainda assim, foi recebida e acolhida pelo homem que prometeu zelar pela vida da menina mais guerreira que já tinha encontrado. Os olhos claros, mesmo naquela tenra idade, pareciam carregar muita frieza e indiferença. Talvez tenha sido sorte ou algo planejado por Quione desde o começo, mas os Vasilyeva eram uma família rica, uma vez que eram donos de várias companhias famosas de ballet. Dessa forma, Ekaterina jamais precisou passar por alguma dificuldade financeira em sua infância, mesmo que tivesse que lidar com a indiferença da família em relação a ela. Bem, tirando o pai, que fazia o seu máximo para garantir que tivesse tudo que ansiava.

Com o tempo, Ekaterina foi tornando-se cada vez mais distante daqueles ao seu redor. Mesmo que fosse para a escola e tivesse seus amigos, esses eram mais adquiridos através do interesse mútuo do que qualquer sinal de carinho. Foi em diversos psicólogos e psiquiatras, tentando identificar o que a criança tinha. Foi inconclusivo, mesmo que o TDAH e a dislexia foram diagnosticadas. Não era uma pessoa inquieta fisicamente, mas conseguiam observar como os pensamentos e emoções dela eram concebidos mais introspectivamente do que exteriormente, servindo como uma enxurrada de informações constante em sua cabeça. O pai começou a compreender a filha um pouco mais quando Ekaterina começou a envolver-se em artes diversas, principalmente pintura e ballet. A menina não era mais inteligente falando-se de desempenho escolar, mas destacava-se na dança e na pintura. Como dono de uma companhia de ballet, o genitor percebeu uma oportunidade de treinar a filha para que fosse perfeita e se destacasse no cenário.

A infância de Ekaterina passou como um sopro, principalmente através do foco que tinha no ballet. Mesmo que não tivesse passado por nenhuma reprovação da escola, jamais focou nela, principalmente após perceber o desperdício de tempo que teria. Queria ser uma exímia bailarina e não demorou para destacar-se nessa questão, principalmente quando tinha o apoio do pai. Durante o ensino médio, mesmo que tivesse seus amigos, esses não eram tão próximos quanto poderiam ser, uma vez que não tinha nenhum anseio em torná-los mais do que eram. De qualquer forma, não tinha tempo para aquela bobagem de amizades, levando em consideração do futuro profissional que teria. Não era a jovem mais popular, assim como também não fazia parte dos excluídos, o que fazia com que fizesse sua parte socialmente. O ballet se tornou a parte central até os dezoito anos, quando a vida tomou um outro rumo.

Mesmo que fosse distante dos próprios amigos, Kath ainda desejava manter alguma relação com eles. Quando fez uma festa em casa em comemoração do seu aniversário, aproveitando que nenhum adulto estaria por ali, esperava que tudo ocorresse conforme esperado. Adorava planejar e, principalmente devido à natureza controladora, cuidava de cada detalhe minuciosamente. O que não esperava é que, enquanto estava no quarto com um namorado que só tinha para satisfazer suas necessidades, um monstro apareceria para atacá-lo quando menos esperassem. Quem salvou ambos foi a prima, que acabou revelando ser uma semideusa que frequentava um tal de Acampamento Meio-Sangue do qual jamais tinha escutado falar. Tinha percebido que, durante os verões, a mulher simplesmente desaparecia, mas achava que era mais um retiro espiritual ou algo assim. Levou Kath para o lugar, dizendo que compreenderia melhor quem era.

Foi assim que Ekaterina foi levada para aquele país terrível, excessivamente ensolarado e excessivamente claro. Não demorou muito para que fosse reclamada por Quione, o acontecimento tendo um fim nada agradável. Ao mesmo tempo que o símbolo da deusa brilhava sobre sua cabeça, Ekaterina surtava um pouco. Acabou congelando o Acampamento Meio-Sangue sem querer, o que incluiu duas pessoas que estavam perto dela no momento. Graças ao Sr. D e ao Quíron, conseguiram recuperar, mas ainda sim foi um acontecimento que ficou marcado na mente de muitas pessoas, que precisaram passar um dia com um casaco mais grosso em pleno verão.

Demorou certo tempo para que se acostumasse com o ambiente novo, assim como as pessoas que pareciam animadas em receber a filha de Quione, mas atualmente já está bem mais a vontade. Mesmo que não seja a pessoa mais sociável, esforça-se para ser agradável, mesmo que não funcione na maioria das vezes. Os olhos parecem não carregar muitas emoções, assim como as palavras têm pouca sensibilidade, principalmente quando trata-se de emoções alheias. Ainda sim, conseguiu controlar os poderes ao longo dos anos através de muita meditação e exercícios físicos que auxiliavam no equilíbrio interno.

╰ * POWERS .

MANIPULAÇÃO DO GELO. Ekaterina pode criar, moldar e controlar o gelo em todas as suas formas, desde simples flocos de neve até estruturas complexas de gelo, além de ter a capacidade de reduzir a temperatura ambiente ao seu redor, congelando objetos ou até mesmo o ar. A principal fraqueza está em ambientes quentes ou difíceis de serem congelados, como ambientes abertos, uma vez que demanda mais de Ekaterina a capacidade de diminuir a temperatura.

Mesmo com o porte esguio e sendo uma semideusa que não possui muita vantagem fisicamente, Ekaterina tem como arma preferida Snowstorn, um machado branco cravejado com cristais. A arma, feita por um filho de Hefesto especialmente para ajudá-la com o controle dos poderes e não precisar utilizá-los com muita frequência, tem a capacidade de queimar como gelo a ferida, podendo levá-la até o congelamento se a superfície estiver molhada. São poucos que conseguem segurar a arma por muito tempo, uma vez que o ferro estígio que compõe a arma é embebida da neve de Severnaia Zemlia e enfeitiçada para atingir temperaturas congelantes.

Instrutora de meditação. Uma das técnicas que Ekaterina utiliza no dia-a-dia para evitar congelar tudo (de novo) é a meditação e yoga diários para alinhar os pensamentos. Mesmo que seja relativamente nova dentro do Acampamento Meio Sangue, a evolução que demonstrou em relação ao controle dos poderes foi algo que chamou a atenção de Quíron. Assim, assumiu a posição de instrutora de meditação para guiar principalmente aqueles que tem dificuldade em controlar o poder.

☃ What they wear around the house <- Armand

I love thinking about the evolution of his style because he's just had such a weird existence.

You know how if you let a little kid dress themselves they'll pick something totally random, like their elsa costume or the suit they had to wear to that one wedding the family went to, and they'll commit to it no matter where they're going and what they're doing?

I think that was Armand at home in DM era. Just inappropriately dressed because he didn't understand the concept of taking off your hard pants and getting comfy when you get in the door. It would be 2am and Daniel would be in lounge pants, meanwhile Armand is still fully suited up from the opera while he fucks around in the kitchen. And Daniel was just bewildered by how he was totally unbothered by hanging out on the couch with his cummerbund or windbreaker or whatever still on regardless of how hot it was.

(It got better though, a few lessons in 'hey, I'll ravish you if you take off the stay-pressed chinos and chill out in my t-shirts and boxers' fixed him of that, and to this day his private-time clothes are the shirt of whatever lover he has in town)

I think the introduction of wikipedia was a real tenuous time for him and Daniel. Like that man got high on being able to edit any article he wanted and would sit at the computer for hours correcting history's biggest myths, and then getting twisted up with humiliating rage when his edits got taken down for not having any sources cited. And no, Marius, you don't count as a source just because you were there, sorry dude. Them's the rules.

And thanks to kacy's headcanons about him being an internet auction freak I can't keep from imagining that he's also got at least ten tabs open with ebay or christies or some other auction site so he can bid on weird shit to fill up his house with. His email (which is now a gmail account, because Benji finally convinced him having a yahoo mail account in 2024 is embarrassing) so he can keep in touch with that research team that's scanning documents from Herculaneum. r/Stocism so he can argue with randos about the correct interpretation of Marcus Aurelius and Diogenes.

And littered in between are random websites where he's gift shopping, because imo he's a great gift giver- it's just easier to express that he cares and/or is sorry with surprise items than to say it in words. In fact that ebay auction of 17th century bobbin lace might be intended to be sent along to someone else when he wins it.

And idk probably some femdom porn in a private browser too.

From above a torrent of water poured from the sky in a thick river that was unleashed with a quaking crack of thunder. Soaking the earth below, and all the mercenaries who had begun their march back to the battlements when the end of battle was called. Charles immediately finding himself caught in the middle of it, paused with a displeased glare to the heavens. Condemning whoever was responsible for ruining the pack of cigarettes in his breast pocket, and for forcing him to track mud wherever he was going.

Catching sight of a few fleeing bodies darting into the now empty buildings of the battlefield, the lithe bleu followed suit. Using what agility, he could against the slick earth under his feet to quickly run inside. Nearly causing him to run head long into the sniper standing not too far within. Forcing him to catch himself on the gunmen to keep from knocking them both over, with a small apologetic smile.

"Je suis désolé, excusez-moi." Charles quickly apologized, before letting go with a sharp step back. Giving the Sniper room to breathe as he gathered himself in the wake of his embarrassment over nearly trampling the man. Feeling familiar enough with the class to know that most didn't care for spies, and even less for spies taking up their space.

"Forgive me, I didn't see jou zrough ze rain. Zese's mask are far better at collecting water, zen zey are at keeping it out of our faces." He commented with a soft tug at the now drenched fabric clinging to his features. Attempting to keep the conversation light in hopes to smooth over their turbulent introduction; the last lingering encounter with a Sniper on their team leaving him cautious to accidently enrage another.

Reaching for the hem of his mask at the front of his neck, Charles pulled of the soaked garment. Causing his dark wet hair to fall limply across his eyes before he could push it out of his face. The face in question was far younger than most would believe the spy to be. Particularly with the way he held himself as he tucked away his mask with a small assessing glance at the Sniper beside him, before returning his eyes to the rain outside.

"Hopefully it won't last long. I would like to get to ze kitchen before anyone starts a fire attempting cook." Speaking more to himself than the gunmen, as his leather-bound hands idly rubbed together for warmth. Already feeling a chill beginning to seep in as the water begun to settle through the layers he wore. Making him wish he had put more money into getting a sturdier suit.

To his surprise, he felt the sudden weight of something being settled across his shoulders. Drawing the lithe spies' green eyes quickly back toward the Sniper, where he was surprised to find that he had given him his jacket. For a moment stunning him in places before he gingerly pulled the coat closer.

"Merci, tireur d'élite. Are jou sure zough? I would imagine jou bushmen would get cold in zis weazer, non?"
