Blackthorn forms vigorous young trees from the roots, from which dense, thorny bushes grow in dense clumps. Armed with sharp thorns, which can damage human skin. It already starts flowering in early spring, at the beginning of March, and with the onset of winter it produces black berries, commonly known as 'sloes'.

Samhain is the most important festival in the Celtic world, celebrated on 1st November to mark the beginning of winter and therefore the new year. The name 'Samhain' means 'end of summer'. The seasons change from summer to winter (the time of the dead) with this festival. It is a period of short days and darkness, but it is a necessary period for nature to enter a peaceful rest and welcome the bright spring. In the calendar of agricultural societies, this is an important stage for the germination of crop seeds.

Samhain was the solemn festival, when fires were lit and sacrifices were offered to gods such as Taranis and Teutates. Importantly, it was believed that on the eve of this day, 31 October, a passage between this world and the spirit world was opened, allowing inhabitants from the other world to come and visit this world freely and interact with humans in this world. However, while the comings and goings were sometimes favourable, it was also envisaged to be dangerous.

On the Samhain eve, children went from house to house to collect festive offerings. It was also customary to celebrate Samhain by placing a brightly burning candle inside a hollowed-out turnip at the entrance to the house.

Blackthorn is a tree traditionally used for black magic and witchcraft, and its thorns remind us of our own insidious roots. We must remember that we hurt ourselves and others in many ways. If we think about how to avoid hurting each other and courageously face our own insidious roots, blackthorn can guide us to overcome this dark side of our human nature and help us to return the debts of our hearts.

It also helps us to accept the fact that death is something from which no one can escape.

リンボクは根の部分から活力のある若木を形成し、ここから棘だらけの茂みがびっしりと密生する。鋭い棘で武装したリンボクは密生した藪をつくり、人間の肌を傷つける。３月初旬、早春にもう花をつけ始め、冬の訪れと共に、通称「スロー」という黒っぽい実がなる。

サウィンとは、ケルト世界で最も重要なお祭りで、11月1日に冬の始まり、つまり新年の始まりを祝う。「サウィン」とは「夏の終わり」を意味する。この祭りを境に季節は夏から冬（死者の時期）に変わる。日が短く暗い時期だが、自然が穏やかな休息に入り、明るい春を迎えるために必要な期間である。農耕社会の暦では、作物の種が発芽する重要な時期でもある。

サウィンは最も重要な厳粛な祭りで、火が焚かれ、タラニスやテウタテスといった神々に生贄が捧げられた。重要なのは、この日の前夜、10月31日に現世と霊界を結ぶ通路が開かれ、あの世の住人が自由に現世を訪れ、現世の人間と交流できるようになると信じられていたことだ。しかし、その行き来は時に好ましいものであったが、危険なものであることも想定されていた。

サウィンの前夜には、子供たちが家々を回り、お祝い用のお供えを集めた。サウィンを祝って、内部をくり抜いたカブの中に、明るく燃えたろうそくを立て、家の入り口に飾る風習もあった。

リンボクは伝統的に黒魔術や呪術に使われる木であり、その棘は私たち自身の陰湿な心根を思い起こさせる。私たちは、さまざまな形で自分自身や他人を傷つけていることを忘れてはならない。どうすれば互いを傷つけずにすむかを考え、勇気を持って自分自身の陰湿な心根と向き合えば、リンボクは人間が持つこの暗い側面を克服するように導いてくれ、心の負い目を返上するように導いてくれる。

そして、死は誰も逃れることのできないものであるという事実を受け入れる助けにもなってくれる。

ここで少し語りたいと思える瞬間が好き

1日の終わりくらいの時間に、ここで短く何かを綴りたいと思える瞬間が好きです。

特になんでもない話や過去の出来事とか、重くならない程度に書けるのがいいですね。

夜は、どこからか鈴虫の声が聴こえる季節にもなってきましたし。

涼しい風がゆるやかに流れていて、その風を頬あたりに感じる時が心地よい。

頬を優しく撫でるように、通りすぎてくれるのですよ。

そういえば今日は、大好きな作詞家の森雪之丞さんの作品を見直してました。

森雪之丞さんといえば、昔のアニメのドラゴンボールとかキン肉マンとか、布袋さんの曲の作詞家として有名ですね。他にもたくさんありますが。

そこで、私の中で一番好きな作品はなんだったっけ？と思い出してみたところ、すごい内容の歌詞の曲だったことにハッとして、一気に顔は赤くなり。。。

めまい起こしそうなほど、ドキドキしてしまいました。

その曲は20代くらいの時に愛していた曲（歌詞）です。 その頃の私の心境と大いに重なるところがあって。

あんまり人気がない曲なので残念ですが。。。 私の中ではNO.1です。

ところで、大好きな作詞家の森雪之丞さんのこと、しばらくだけど、少し忘れてた気がします。

あんなに大好きだったのに。

だから少しずつ思い出して、一つずつ聴いていこうかと😊

また、ベスト5でも報告したいです。

23.3.19 飛火野にて

東の空に繊細な三日月が昇ってきた朝。辺りはまだ暗いので、月を追いかけながら飛火野の広場をうろうろ。いつものことですが、そのうち明るみが増してきて、少しの春霞とともに風景のディテールが徐々に現れてきます。

･･水分を失くしたような枝ばかりだった木々にも、芽や花の彩がうっすらと飾られてきて、春を感じられるようになりました。

さてさて、陽も昇ってきました。鹿さんたちも朝ご飯を食べに森から出てきて、静かに1日が始まります。

I am a Japanese Jooster fan, and sorry if my translation is wrong.

In Japan, there are two types of translations for the works of Wodehouse. One is the translation by Tamaki Morimura, which is used for the manga version, and the other is by Masakatsu Iwanaga and Taiichi Koyama.

It seems Morimura's version gives weight to recreate the flavor and character images, while Iwanaga and Koyama forcus on replacing exactly what original text means with Japanese.

Now, regarding the part that all Jooster fans frame and display, "I'm fond of Mr. Wooster...," Iwanaga and Koyama's translation is, ”大好きなウースター様のことですから、お顔を見るとくじけそうな気持ちになりました.”

In this case, the term "大好き（Dai suki）" strongly express the sense of affection. In Japan, it's not common for someone of lower status to describe someone of higher status as "大好き," making it a frank and affectionate expression. It could be interpreted as Jeeves, being the older character, having a deep affection for the favorable young man, Bertie.

Of course, it's also possible to interpret it as "I love him," indicating a strong sense of love. In other words, Iwanaga and Koyama's translation conveys a meaning like, "I have a very good feeling (friendship, affection or love) about Mr. Wooster, so when I saw his despairing face, I almost faltered (in my determination to train him with severe methods)."

On the other hand, Morimura's translation is, "わたくしはウースター様が好きでございます。あの方のお顔を拝見して、わたくしはもう少しで心とろけるところであったと、認めるものでございます."

The phrase "好き（Suki）" is used in a wide range, from a confession of hidden love to a simple expression of goodwill. So, while it may sound slightly more serious than "大好き", the difference from Iwanaga and Koyama's translation is not significant.

The issue arises in the subsequent part. Morimura translates "I admit I came very near to melting," using the imagery of "melt" as "心とろける(kokoro torokeru)" ("my heart felt like it was about to melt").

The problem is that the Japanese phrase "心とろける（herart + melt）" does not necessarily imply a wavering of resolve or a softening of emotions; rather, it carries a strong image of entrancement or in ecstasy. In other words, while Iwanaga and Koyama's translation allows for the imagining of gentle Jeeves, Morimura's translation opens the door to envisioning sadistic Jeeves who is enraptured by Bertie's despairing face. I don't know what the word "melting" exactly means in English, but translation is indeed fascinating!

Note that both Jeeves will carry out the training as planned.

日本におけるウッドハウス作品の翻訳には2種類あります。漫画版の元になった森村たまき訳と岩永正勝・小山太一訳です。

私は英語に詳しくないので間違っているかもしれませんが、森村訳が比較的雰囲気やキャラのイメージ重視なのに対し、岩永・小山訳は原文に書いてあることだけをシンプルに日本語に置き換えた感じです。

さて、全世界のJoosterファンが額縁に入れて飾っている"I'm fond of Mr.Wooster…"の部分ですが、岩永・小山訳は「大好きなウースター様のことですから、お顔を見るとくじけそうな気持になりました」です。この場合の「大好き」はかなり強い親愛の情を示す言葉です。日本では通常身分の低い者が身分の高い人を「大好き」と形容することはあまりないので、フランクかつ親しみのこもった言い方と言えます。年長者であるジーヴスが好ましい若者のバーティに強い親愛の情を持っている、という解釈なのかもしれません。もちろん、「愛している」という意味に解釈することも可能です。つまり、岩永・小山訳は「私はウースター様をとても好ましく思っているので、彼の絶望した顔を見て（彼をひどい目に合わせて調教しようという決意が）くじけそうになった」ぐらいの意味です。

一方、森村訳は「わたくしはウースター様が好きでございます。あの方のお顔を拝見して、わたくしはもう少しで心とろけるところであったと、認めるものでございます」です。「私は（人名）が好きです」は秘めたる愛の告白から単なる好意の表明まで幅広く使われますので、「大好きなウースター様」より若干真剣な告白に聞こえるものの、岩永・小山訳とそこまで違いはありません。問題はその後です。森村訳は"I admit I came very near to melting"のmeltのイメージをそのまま用いて「心がとろけそうだった」と訳しています。問題は日本語の「心とろける」に決意が鈍るとか感情が和らぐという意味があまりなく、うっとりする、恍惚とするようなイメージが強いことです。つまり、岩永・小山訳では善人（ぶっている）ジーヴスが想像できる一方、森村訳では大好きなウースター様の絶望した顔を見てうっとりするサディストのジーヴスが想像可能だということです。翻訳って面白いですね。

何年ぶり？久しぶりの光の森駅に来ました🚋

食後はアクセサリーショップの探索笑

今月のはじめに気に入って購入し愛用していた10金のネックレス。 金属アレルギーが出てしまいました😱 元々金属アレルギーは持っているのですが、 冬だから大丈夫でしょ🎵 と思っていたらまさかでした😭

「肌に直接触れないように身に付けましょうね」 病院からもさらっと注意されました泣

プラチナor18金くらいで数万円で気楽に笑って付けられる値段のネックレスを…と見て回っていました👣

あるお店の若手店員さんが予算内で紹介してくれたところまでは良かったのですが、途中で店長さんが登場しておかしくなりました。 ダイヤが黄色いから そして出されたのはコレ↓

一生モノくらいセットで使わないと！ と購入＆ローンを組むように迫られました。確かに私、世間で言う良い年齢に差し掛かった自覚はありますが、個人の意見としては気楽に笑って使用できるものが欲しいんですよ…汗 この調子なので、私の用途、意見は店長さんに見事に無視されました。

しまいには 「今日、これをまとめ買い契約してくださるなら値引きします！」 と提示してきたのがコレ↓

漫画に出てくる商法みたいですが、事実なのがまた恐ろしい😱

保留と決め込んでお店は後にしました。 今日中に契約を！と言われましたが 「一生モノだからこそ、後悔しないで購入を決めたいです！」 と伝えたら、今日中の契約から5/6まで期限を延ばしてくれました笑 連絡先(携帯番号)を教えて欲しいと言われましたが、あいにくスマホの電池切れで番号間違えているかも…という条件で伝えました。

信じられないかもしれませんが、スマホの電池切れは本当です笑 今にして思えば、今回の私のスマホ充電忘れのズボラさがプラスに働きました苦笑

しかし、昔、雑誌か何かで聞いたことがある商法だと思いましたが、令和の今のご時世に存在する商法だとはびっくりです。皆さんもどうぞご用心を…

拘束時間は約２時間。唯一良かったのはお茶(お～いお茶の缶)のサービスがあったことくらいでしょうか苦笑

とにかく疲れたので、光の森エリアを離れ、鶴屋百貨店に逃げるように移動👣

フードコートでたこ焼きを頂きました🐙 12個を注文したら、お店の人が全ての味の値段は同じだから、6個ずつで2種類作りますよということで、ソースとゆず胡椒にしました。

光の森のあのお店で疲れ果てていたのでたこ焼きの味が沁み渡ります✨

その後、一度訪問してみたかったお店に。 明らかに私には場違いな雰囲気かなとは思っていますが、行ってみたかったんです。 ここでも気になるものは、片っ端からつけさせてもらいました笑 すごく気に入った候補が幾つかありましたが、値段も値段なので、今回は保留。 保留を伝えても、嫌な顔もせず、 「せっかく買われるなら、しっかり検討してくださいね」 と、気持ちよく見送ってくれました🤗 押しつけがましいとかもなかったので、GW明けに社会復帰したら頑張って働いて、お金を貯めたら再訪して買いに行かないと。あと、店員さんも指名していかないと。

んで、やっぱりここに寄っちゃう笑 18金のピンクゴールドです🤗笑って使える値段かは不明ですが、コスパの良いブランドだと思っていますし、さらっと使えそうなので買いました。店員さんも押しつけがましいとかは一切ないし、買わなくても笑顔で見送ってくれるので安心して買えます笑 こうしてeteのアクセサリーが増えていきます。

2023年年末、慌ただしく過ぎた日々。

どうしても行きたくてクリスマスの日に山、行ってきました。

いつもは高い山に登りたがる私ですが、限られた時間で行ける近場の低山へ。

登山というより、森を散歩してきた感じですが、

想像以上に楽しかったのです

登山口へゲートを通るところから始まって

森だからこその清々しい空気

高い木々はなんだか語ってる

（あぁ、またニンゲンがきたよ）

（まあ、悪させずに行きなよ）

高い山では聞かない、小鳥の囀り

だけど静かなのです

足下のふかっとした落ち葉／枯葉をカサカサいわせながら歩く

山の包容力を感じつつ進む

そしたら、あっという間に山頂（標高500mもないから）

山頂のおやつタイムはクリスマスケーキ代わりにコンビニのスイーツを

遠くにみえる雪をかぶった山がカッコいい

小鳥の巣箱や餌台があったので持ってきた柿ピーのピーナツを砕いて置く。

そしたらあちこちから小鳥が現れて、ピーナツを咥えては飛び去る

もっともっと、と私の手のひらに飛んでくるコまで。

かわいい

ぷらっと長野の旅♪後編

森をぶらぶら、ついでにプチ登山もしてきました♪写真を撮りながら歩くので、通常より２倍の時間を要します。笑

ただ登るだけの登山は辛い。カメラをやっていなかったら、きっと行ってなかったであろうと思える場所は沢山ある。カメラのおかげで、いろんなところに行きたくなる。これは大事なこと。ずっと趣味として持ち続けたいと思う(^.^)♪

Tapio – The Finnish god of forests and the hunt

Tapio is a Finnish forest spirit or god in Finnish mythology. Hunters prayed to him before a hunt. His wife is the forest goddess, Mielikki (Ref). He is the father of Annikki, Tellervo, Nyyrikki (the god of hunting), and Tuulikki. Fitting the Green Man archetype, Tapio has a beard of lichen and eyebrows of moss.

Tapio is a major character in Kalevala, the Finnish national epic based on Finnish and Karelian folklore, the hero Lemminkäinen offers him and Mielikki prayers, gold and silver so he can catch the Hiisi elk.

Tapio, the personified forest, was sometimes depicted as being the size of a fir tree, fierce-looking, like a human being in the front, but like a gnarled old tree from behind. Often the forest deity was female, occasionally an especially beautiful woman, who enticed hunters or woodcutters staying in the woods overnight; but he, too, turned out to be a rotten old stump upon closer scrutiny. The various forest deities and spirits were generally capricious in nature and had to be constantly placated by those who were dependent on their favours. Thus hunters made offerings to the deity and made sure they did not break any taboos in the forest, such as making excessive noise or shooting unusual birds that might be the forest spirit in disguise.
