"Grasping At Ghosts"
Tumblr media
Dess here to tell you that these three make up the very core of my being. Also, time for my bi-monthly reminder that Kirby did not beat Marx into submission, Marx's very crown-like wings went haywire after taking enough of a beating (just like the Master Crown) and it was that which sent him crashing into Galactic Nova to his doom.
Parallels, parallels...
I suppose the really frightening thing is that, unlike with Magolor and the Master Crown, Marx still possesses (possessed by) the wings to this day, meaning if they really are akin to the Crown, he's still under its(?) sway. Given the fact that his eyes bug out if you leave him standing in Star Allies long enough... and yeah...

Headcanon: Kirby hugs everyone
Tumblr media
Kirby is a very huggy boi. He loves giving hugs.
Pretty much anyone that is Kirby's friend is going to get hugs from him.
Hugs is one of Kirby's ways to try to provide comfort for someone. He's not good with words of encouragement as he's kind of nonverbal a lot of the time anyways. He'll give you a hug to try to make you feel better, and he also does it just to make you appreciated and cared about, since he wants that for pretty much everyone more or less.
Generally, this works out very well. Even people such as Meta Knight, Magolor, and Daroach that generally aren't huggers on their own are glad to accept hugs from Kirby. It's the least they can do after how lovable and endearing he is, and after everything he's done as a hero.
Every dream friend has received hugs from Kirby. Even Dark Meta Knight, who is generally the most reluctant out of them to accept a hug, has relented to Kirby hugs. Nobody can deny Kirby his hugs.
A lot of Kirby's friends love to return the favor and give him hugs! The most prominent examples of this are King Dedede, Adeleine, Ribbon and the animal friends. Out of the animal friends, Rick, Nago and ChuChu are the most happy to have hugs with Kirby any time. Nago in particular is just a straight up cuddlebug, he's a big hugger too!
ChuChu, Kine and Gooey may not have great skin texture for hugs, but does Kirby care? No. He gives them hugs anyways! Even though Kine and Gooey aren't able to hug back, it's not like they care, they enjoy getting hug by Kirby regardless! They appreciate him so much.
Marx rarely gets hugs in his life. Generally, he doesn't really care for hugs. That being said, Kirby has given him hugs... and he appreciates it! There's a part of Marx that does think it's rather amusing that Kirby chooses to give him hugs considering what happened between the two before, but he figures that the least he can do is accept those hugs! Kirby caught him by surprise one time by hugging him while he was bouncing on his beach ball, which then caused him to fall.. Marx ended up laughing after that because Kirby sure got him there!
The mage sisters normally aren't suited for hugs considering their elements cover their bodies (i.e. Francisca feels icy to touch, Flamberge feels very fiery hot to touch) but I headcanon that they're capable of turning off the elements inside their bodies to where they're capable of giving hugs. And they do that for when Kirby asks to give them hugs. They love hugging with Kirby! They owe it to him after he saved them and Hyness, who likes to hug him as well!
Out of all of Kirby's friends, though, the two that are definitely most needing and deserving of hugs are Taranza and Susie, considering the things that have happened in their lives. After Kirby reconciled with them, he's sometimes been going out of his way to act as emotional support for them. He's made sure to give them both tons of hugs... their grief makes him sad and he wants to them to still feel cared about and appreciated despite losing the people they loved.
Taranza needs hugs for obvious reasons. Dude is just heartbroken from all the things that happened to him. He's so grateful to Kirby whenever he gives him hugs, it often makes him cry happily. Kirby is effective at acting like an emotional support dog for him sometimes.
Susie has gone a very long time without any hugs. When she got banished to Another Dimension, she didn't have anyone that she could've given hugs to, and when she finally returned to her mind-controlled father that forgot her existence, he refused to accept hugs from her... tragic. The first hug that she's gotten ever since the Another Dimension incident was from Kirby when they reconciled.
Because Susie went so long without hugs, it's made her not used to physical affection for the most part. When Kirby hugged her the first few times, it made her flabbergasted, and it even made her cry when she tried figuring out how to respond to it. But eventually as she got more used to it, she really likes Kirby's hugs! Even if she's still not really one for physical affection otherwise, she's glad to have hugs with Kirby any time... she's grateful for it, as it's indeed helpful for her.
That's basically all I have for this post! As this post highly establishes, I headcanon that Kirby loves giving hugs, and will give a lot of hugs to those that need it. It doesn't really get more huggable than Kirby.
Kirby is such a softie. He has so much love and care in his heart. He cares so, so much. Whenever he befriends someone, he's going to act like a real friend to them. He might not talk very often, but it usually doesn't even matter because of how endearing he is. He wants his friends to feel cared about and appreciated, and giving them hugs is probably his best method of making them feel cared about.
Thanks for reading! More Kirby headcanon posts will come later!

Random Kirby Headcanon #11
Kirby warmed up to Susie very, VERY quickly after Robobot. She was bewildered, to say the least.
You see, she wasn’t initially ON the “I want to become a better person train.” She just kind of wanted to go home, sulk, and then get back to business. But there was one teensy-weensy little problem with that…
Namely that her home (and her father, but that’s besides the point) just blew up. She didn’t have anywhere TO go. There was a headquarters for the HWC on her family’s home planet, but it was very far away, and without the Access Ark she didn’t have the resources to travel there. She was stranded.
As soon as Kirby learned about this, he was eager to help. He promised he’d find her someplace to stay, and ended up getting Taranza to take her in for a bit, seeing as how the residents of Dreamland proper were— uh, a LITTLE bit mad at her for everything.
Susie was skeptical of this. She couldn’t tell if it was a trap or if he was just sincerely that stupid. The way Kirby saw it, though, is she helped him out during the final fight, and so there was no way she could truly be a bad person. He managed to befriend other bad guys like Magolor and Taranza before, didn’t he? Why was this any different? Besides, Susie seemed… sad. He figured she could use a friend.
Eventually, Susie got back home (Once again: a story for another day, I’m afraid), but Kirby continued to visit and check in on her even after she did. He seemed worried about her, figuring she’d be upset after everything that happened.
And Susie was! Although she didn’t really display any of that in front of Kirby. He just managed to pick up on it somehow anyways. He always was very empathetic.
Eventually, she relented and decided to let him do whatever he pleased. It was no skin off her back if he wanted to stop by. In actuality, with what she’d seen from him, it was probably a smart idea to keep herself on his good side. Infinite power makes for a valuable ally.
But Kirby is a lovable little guy. There’s no heart he CAN’T manage to worm his way into given enough time. Eventually, Susie began to actively look forward to his visits, as opposed to viewing them through the lens of a reluctant “Ugh. This may as well happen.” Kirby was a surprisingly good listener, and a smart, talented kid, too.
Nowadays he still drops by occasionally to keep her company while she works. He’ll quietly color off to the side or let her work her way through mechanical/programming bugs via explaining them to him (Which is to say he’s her ‘rubber duck’ in the coder’s sense.) He’s still as good a listener as ever and always interested in learning about what’s going on.
Clearly, Susie respects him, because she helped out during Star Allies. And not only that, but she lets him stick goofy-ass stickers to her mech for fun… and it more or less seems like if anyone else tried to give it an impromptu makeover she would quite literally shoot them. He must be very, very appreciated in that case, even though Susie isn’t typically the type to show it.
It’s okay. Kirby doesn’t need affirmative words or actions. He already knows. He’s glad he was able to make her into his friend.

Hi! I couldn’t find if you did any Magolor + Reader ficlets, and if you did I’m so sorry (can I be directed towards it?) and if you didn’t could I request one?
Thank you in advance!
Signed, a huge Magolor fan
oh my gosh MY FIRST EVER REQUEST! Ahem… I worked on a Magolor fic for a while before but decided to not finish it, and then I got this ask! Then I finished it and here it is, it’s not as bad as I thought it was turning out yay! Btw I was writing it a bit self indulgently (it’s a little sad) since it’s not originally from this ask so I hope that’s okay with you. Also this is, indeed, the only fic with Magolor in it I currently have, you were right lol! I hope you like it, and happy reading!
Magolor + Reader
You were at home, crying. Nothing went wrong, but you were crying anyway. Life sucks for you. (And that’s okay.) Your phone had been ringing annoying alarms for at least five minutes straight before, but they eventually died out. Your friends must have realized you didn’t want company, which would’ve been good a few minutes ago, but suddenly you felt like you could handle having someone nearby now. And you also NEEDED to have someone nearby now. You decided to text your friends back finally, since you luckily had the strength to move at least.
You opened your phone. 94 messages?! That’s a lot! Well, it had been ringing for 5 minutes straight earlier. You were treated to reading the following messages:
SkyBaby (that’s Kirby btw, RecD reference): what’s wrong? u didn’t show up to the picnic i planned w/ u! No one likes to refuse food! Are u ok?
ChinchillaTheCutest (that’s Elfilin): Kirby told me you didn’t show up to his picnic. What’s going on? He seems worried about you, probably because you passed up the chance to eat, but I get that you were probably just busy! But seriously, Kirby’s gonna cry if you don’t tell him why you weren’t there.
TripleD (you know): kirby’s crying! i asked him what was wrong and he said u didn’t show up to his picnic! whats up w/that?
BlueberryBatman (you know this one too): I heard that you did not show to a hang-out with Kirby. I hope you are okay. (If you read my Meta Knight + Reader, you know why he’s so concerned lol)
Spidersarenerdsallofthem (Taranza, I’m keeping in line with the lore of my Taranza + Reader): The king told me you hadn’t gone to a meet-up you promised Kirby. Is there anything wrong? I, your best friend, cannot allow you to stay hurt if you are hurt!
Spidersarenerdsallofthem: Nevermind that, something just came up. It probably wasn’t anything serious anyway, it might have been just because you were busy! I hope you understand~
Egg: yo, wassup? i heard you didn’t show to a hangout w/ kirbs was it because you forgot or smth?
You decided to respond to Magolor. You hadn’t talked to him enough and wanted to get to know him better. The only time you got to talk to him was when Kirby took you to see Merry Magoland, so you didn’t really know him beyond what was probably just a customer-service smile. Although Kirby convinced you two to give each other your phone numbers since he wanted all his friends to be able to contact each other in the event of a new threat that needs the power of friendship to be defeated, neither of you called or texted the other until now.
Well, here goes nothing.
You: i didnt forget i just wasnt feeling up to it… wanna hang out? im feeling a bit better now and would like to get to know you
Egg: a friend of kirby’s is a friend of mine! omw
You were glad dreamland was so peaceful. There was so little crime, people could just go to the houses of almost-strangers! While Magolor was on his way, you texted Kirby an apology for not coming to his picnic. He took it well, but you were still guilty for no good reason.
You hear the doorbell ring, and it was much tougher to get up than it had been to pick up your phone. It felt like your bones were made of lead, and your muscles were feeling weaker than usual. You wanted to cry again. Apparently you weren’t as over your meltdown as you thought, but you still managed to do it and went to the door.
You opened the door, and there he was, waiting patiently.
You smiled to be polite and greeted, “Hey Magolor.”
He exclaimed, “Yo, y/n! Doing okay?”
You answered, “No.”
He looked sad.
“Is that why you passed up the opportunity to spend time with Kirby?”
“Yeah.”
“Can I come in?”
You just nodded, and moved out of the way to let him in your house.
You closed the door and led him to the couch, where you both sat down. You wanted to ask him if you could vent to him, but you couldn’t possibly ask that. You just met him! Frick, why did you even invite him over just to do nothing?!
Fortunately, being the socially knowledgeable, charismatic person he is, Magolor could tell by your expression and body language, as well as what you told him earlier, that you had something you wanted to tell him, and he knew no one likes an awkward silence. “Wanna talk about it?” He sat there eagerly, ready to take whatever you told him.
“Well… I’m probably depressed. I spent a lot of today crying for no reason, and a bit ago, I’d have probably died if anyone spoke to me. But then I thought I should CALL A BORDERLINE STRANGER TO VENT TO THE SECOND I GOT LONELY, I’M SO SORRY I CALLED YOU HERE-” You started coughing and crying from your little outburst, to which Magolor replied by patting your back to help your respiratory system and worriedly telling you, “It’s okay-”
“NO IT’S NOT OKAY!” You yelled, and started crying again. He looked concerned before, but now he tried to calm himself down for your sake. He asked, “Can I put my hand on your head for a sec?” You were bewildered, but nodded, still weeping.
He started petting you. What? He kept doing it. When you were quiet enough to talk to, he reminded you, “Hey. Remember when we met at Merry Magoland? We talked for a little bit. So we’re not borderline strangers. Besides, if we’re in the world where Kirby can instantly convince enemies to become his friend and fight alongside him, we can be friends.”
Oh, he was right wasn’t he? Your wailing slowed to the occasional sob, and you looked at him again. He was still concerned, but happy you were getting better. He continued to pet you, and you quietly reached out and pet him, too. He started PURRING. Oh gosh a kitty! you thought.
In your already emotional state, his cuteness and kindness made you cry again for some reason, but more quietly this time. It seemed like anything would make you want to cry now. He just hugged you (or, pressed his hands against you comfortingly, since he has no arms it’s the closest he can get). “There, there.”
You hugged him back and muttered, “Thank you.”
“Anytime. By the way, my dude, wanna play Minecraft? I’m sure it’ll show us the power of best friends!”
Giggling at the sudden change in vibes and glad to think about something else, you two played minecraft the rest of the day and loved it. The end!

🤍💔🖤 for kirby
Huzzah! Why thank you anon for letting me ramble about them!
🤍 "what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?"
They don't have much empathy if any at all (No this does not inherently make him someone dangerous thankyouverymuch-), but they do try their best at understanding people, and getting in their shoes but this also means that sometimes they come across as very uncaring when in reality they just don't really understand how to react to the situation.
He might also prioritize playing and fooling around before his own responsibility. While this is okay for being able to cheering up people, this means that he can just neglect everything else that doesn't bring them joy/isn't hurting his friends.
Also, his innocent and childlike nature can sometimes make him susceptible to manipulation or deception. He may trust others too easily or fail to recognize ulterior motives, putting everyone at risk (Looking at you, Marx and Magolor…). He most of the time just assumes that everyone has good intentions, even if it's obvious that it's otherwise.
💔 "what are three of your oc's negative traits?"
Can you really have a superiority complex if you're a god among people? Either way, Kirby kinda sees most people as below him, not necessarily as people he doesn't care about, but more like pets that need his help and protection to survive, in exchange for their companionship and being fun to play with. This kinda ties in with his naivety he just doesn't assume people would genuinely want to hurt him, I mean do you expect your pet to manipulate you beyond making you feel sad for treats?
Also, for all their playful personality and their need for entertainment, they're a very sore loser. Kirby is a strong guy, and being a loser is no fun, so you're a cheater! Oh, you surely must be cheating, or at least that's what Kirby assumes every time. They did not take Dream Course very well I'll tell you that.
He can also have problems with boundaries and impatience, at first he just saw most people as toys (In his defense there's not much else to assume when you just pop out in the sky as an Eldritch God of Fun) and thus thought they'd all just be available 24/7 to play and such, but that is not the case and he grows frustrated when people don't pay attention to him (He also thinks that people can be just fixed like toys if they take any damage), kinda like your average child but he's all-powerful.
Now take in mind that all of this is mostly at the beginning of the whole story, and they learn more and more after ye good old character development.
🖤 "has your oc killed or seriously wounded anyone before? have they broken someone's heart and/or broken someone's trust?"
Beyond their enemies? Mmmmh... Well, I can't quite spill the beans just yet, but let's just say that thinking that people can be easily fixed and being all-powerful with the sole purpose to have as much fun as you can for survival purposes is not a good combination...

11, 32 and 44 for the OTP ask game 🥺
For Metalor
Thank you for the ask bestie!!! 🥹
Actually, someone on Discord had already asked me a few numbers, including 11. So I will post here what I answered for their numbers, then answer yours! 😊
4. Which of the two listens to old music and which one is more into the newer stuff?
Meta Knight is absolutely into older stuff. Like jazz, classic, and maybe even opera. He does enjoy some rock, but loud things like electronic don’t interest him.
Magolor loves most music, but he vibes much more on dubstep, techno, drum & bass, etc. If it’s intense, it’ll stimulate his inattentive brain and make him happy!
6. Who holds a grudge the longest?
Oh boy I have to choose? 🤣
Well, it’s not that Meta Knight holds grudges for extremely long. But if you lose his trust, it’ll be hard to gain it back, but yeah, he does have a lot of trouble forgiving people when they hurt him or someone he cares about (glances at some particular characters perhaps related to mirrors or robots…!).
Magolor? Depends on who and what. He’s mostly chill, but if you really hurt him (or his ego), you’ll have to be prepared for some petty revenge.
11. Who’s the most eager to have kids?
Meta Knight. It’s not his lifetime goal, but also he did bring the subject a few times, and overall Magolor doesn’t feel like he’d want to be a parent. He isn’t the most patient guy in the world and he already knows a yelling baby would ruffle his fur.
So yeah, babies aren’t part of their plan (for now).
23. Which of the two would you rather team up with for a game of laser tag?
Meta Knight. Although both are smart, strategic and VERY competitive, I would much rather have a calm, rational teammate than a tryhard. XD
48. Who’d refuse to pay the others bail just to mess with them?
In reality, none would pay the bail; they’d bust in the prison, kick the guards’ asses and rescue their beloved and waving everyone goodbye.
But if we pretend they were sane and civilized citizens, I think Magolor would like, fake to refuse to pay for the bail and would go like “fine fine” when Meta would glare at him from the other side of the glass.
Now to Kesia’s numbers.
32. Who’s the first to apologize?
That’s a good question! Both are very, very stubborn, but if something important is at stakes they’re willing to do their part.
If we imagine two scenarios in which one said or did something to the other that hurt their feelings really bad, I think Meta Knight would do it first. Not because Magolor is less ready to admit his mistake, but because the way Meta Knight reacts when he’s upset is different. He’s colder and tends to isolate himself and overall feels unreachable. He can also respond with a lot of anger, while Magolor, even though he’ll also keep some distance, will be more prone to be sad, and he’d accept the apology a bit better than Meta would.
If it’s an argument and both are to blame, I’m not really sure what would happen. I think Magolor would apologize first more often, because he dislikes when they are in a fight like that, and while both miss the other, Magolor’s just a bit more adamant for them to make up. However, the opposite happens as well; Meta Knight is also mature, and he is also aware that they need to talk and admit their mistakes. He’s just struggling a bit more to break the ice.
44. Who would confess their love first?
In my interps, Magolor is the one confessing first. At one point, since they’re both a bit socially awkward, there’s this tension, the long stares, the nervousness, but they’re both too shy to confess their feelings.
I think Magolor would get flirty sometimes as “jokes”, but it would fluster Meta a LOT. But overall, he would be receptive (and still somewhat oblivious).
I’m not sure if that’s exactly what would happen in my interps, but now that I’m thinking, it would be funny if Meta ended up asking him about those “jokes”, unintentionally making Magolor embarrassed and he’d end up admitting those were not really jokes. Meta would then say he feels the same, and he’d like, idk, kiss him and they agree on trying a relationship! 😁
Thank you again for asking!!! And thank you to anyone who has read my ramble to this point, y’all are amazing! 🥹
Anyone is free to throw at me more numbers! Original post here!

Do You Regret What You Did?
Magolor looked at Marx for a while. He was reminded of the time he himself attempted a galactic takeover, and how the power all but killed him in the process. He remembered the moment he lost control of himself as the crown he so desired overpowered his will. He remembered spending what felt like eons trapped in that empty dimension beyond time and space, thinking about all he had done, all he had wished to do, and all he had ruined with his greed and corruption. It was as though he ceased existing, yet all he could do was exist. And all he could do was think about what he had done.
Without thinking, Magolor asked Marx a question.
“Do you regret what you did?”
Here’s my first Kirby fic! It’s about Marx and Magolor, and the tiiiiiiny bit of non-kill-maim-murder deep within Marx. Or basically, I made the grape sad. Whoops.  This story is VERY stream of consciousness and it’s also not beta read. We die like Nova. I wrote this in one sitting and did not reread it once.  RATING: T
RELATIONSHIPS: Gen
CONTENT WARNINGS: Angst with a happy ending.
WORD COUNT: 1446
Do You Regret What You Did? Magolor walked into the Lor’s training room to see Marx launching attacks at a sandbag with a picture of Kirby’s face on it. Magolor floated closer and Marx gave him a glance.
“You really don’t like Kirby, huh..?” Magolor sat down on a chair in the training room. Marx gave a glance towards Magolor, shifting his focus away from his barrage of attacks on the sandbag.
“What’s it to ya?”
“He’s really not that bad of a guy, yknow.” Magolor shrugged. “Gullible. Way too nice. Sure. But really, he’s a nice kid.”
“Nice kid or not, he’s the guy who got in the way of my goals!” Marx summoned a ball and kicked it hard towards the sandbag, knocking it into the wall with a puff of powdered sand. Marx gave a proud huff as the sandbag exploded from the impact, only for it to be replaced by another identical sandbag appearing from a panel in the lor’s floor.
But Magolor knew Marx all too well. He could see right through the jester.
“Something’s bothering you.” Magolor smirked beneath his cloak, proud to be able to recognize Marx’s tiny signs of stress like him not cackling loudly after exploding the sandbag, or how he didn’t immediately try and crack a dumb joke.
“Bothered? Me? Hahaha!” Marx gave a loud cackle. Once again, the Halcandran could tell Marx was lying.
“Look Marx, you and me have been through similar things. I know that attitude when I see it.” Magolor invited Marx to sit down next to him.
“No you don’t.”
“Yes I do. Get over here.”
“Ugh, fiiiine!” Marx floated over to the seat with his rainbow wings. “But you’re wrong, you know.”
***
When Magolor first found Marx, they were both completely alone in the depths of space.
Magolor had spent years alone, traveling through the cosmos by himself in the Lor. After so long, he’d convinced himself he didn’t need any company. After all, who was there left for him? If he was to survive in this universe, he would have to do it alone.
Marx was alone for an entirely different reason. He had failed. He succeeded in tricking Kirby, yes, but he had been defeated by the pink dreamer before he could complete his plans of world domination. Caught in the explosion of a clockwork star, Marx was launched into the depths of space to drift for eternity.
He had plenty of time to think, out there in space. As his home planet faded away into the distance, Marx found himself wishing he’d tethered himself to something. But it was too late for that now.
He didn’t realize how empty space was until he was in the midst of it. He’d hoped he’d bump into a tiny asteroid to potentially use to change his trajectory, or perhaps he could cross paths with a habitable planet and wind up pulled to its surface by gravity. But no such thing came. At one point, he saw a little pink rock float by, so he imagined it was Kirby and laughed to himself as he shot a laser towards it. He watched it explode into tiny pieces, but it didn’t do anything to change how empty everything felt.
Eventually, he lost track of time. It could have been 15 years floating in the void, or it could have been 3 years. He couldn’t tell anymore.
Something appeared in the nothingness. It was a bright glowing light blue, as though it was a specter floating through the pitch black abyss. He assumed it was a hallucination- his brain filling in the black emptiness surrounding him. But the spectral object got closer. After awhile, he was able to identify it as a ship of some kind, a kind he had never seen in dream land. It looked like something from another galaxy- perhaps even another time. He still couldn’t tell if it was real, and he even doubted himself when the large ship stopped by his side.
A tinny sounding voice boomed from the ship.
“Are you okay?”
Marx shook his head. Real or not, he might as well say something, because it’s the most interaction he’s had in years.
“Is this for real?” Marx said. Probably not the best thing to say to a potential rescuer, but he’d all but forgotten how to appear as his innocent persona after all those lonely years.
“Oh good, you ARE alive!” The voice from the speakers seemed relieved. “You don’t find much this far out, much less living beings.”
“Ahem… Well of course I’m alive!” Marx said, realizing this WAS probably real and attempting to put on his cute demeanor again. “So won’t you help me out and take me home? I promise I’ll make it up to ya!” He put on a fake smile.
“Oh, yes! Here, there’s room on my ship.” A set of stairs materialized from the vessel. “I don’t have anything better to do, so I can take you home.”
Marx felt the material of the stairs beneath his feet. It was the first time he’d touched solid ground in nova-knows-how-long. As much as he wanted to cause chaos to this strange rescuer, he didn’t want to spend a single second longer floating in space. His chaos would have to wait.
As he stepped through the door and into the ship, a thought crossed the back of his mind. He tried to shut it out immediately, but it still lingered. All that alone time had made him too soft, but what could he do about it?
Perhaps Marx could make a friend.
***
“Marx?” Magolor waved a hand in front of Marx’s face. “Halcandra to Marx, are you in there?”
“Hey, hands off!” Marx came back to reality. “And yes, I’m here!”
“So I take it your answer to my question was yes.”
“What question?”
“The one I asked before you dazed out on me.”
“Well my answer to THAT one is no. I regret nothing because I have never done anything wrong in my life.”
“You can tell me the truth, you know.” Magolor got serious. “I’m your friend, Marx.”
Friend. The word was strange to Marx. Kirby had considered him a friend all those years ago, but he had betrayed the pink astral’s trust for his own gain. He didn’t have many friends on dream land after that, not that it even mattered for all those years drifting out in space. What he did know is that nobody came looking for him. And why would they?
“Jeez, fine, I regret it! Is that what you wanted me to say?” Marx crossed his wings in front of himself in an angry gesture.
Magolor stayed silent for a minute.
“Marx, how long were you alone out there?”
“Pfft, like I know. Too damn long, that’s for sure.” Marx shrugged with his wings. A feeling of sadness was written on his face.
“Me too. I lost track of time after a while. It was hard to even tell if time was real anymore.”
“Tell me about it.”
“But yknow, we’re not alone anymore.” Magolor said, leaning back in the seat. “Kirby and the others forgave me. I haven’t really felt very lonely ever since.”
“Oh I see what this is about. You want me to be friends with the pink bastard, dontcha?”
“Maybe.” Magolor grabbed something from his coat pocket and set it next to Marx. It looked to be a letter. “Or maybe he wants to be friends with YOU.”
Magolor laughed to himself as he left the room, clearly proud of his delivery. Meanwhile, Marx looked down at the letter he had been given from Magolor.
It was a simple sheet of white paper covered in crayon doodles. He opened the card to find what appeared to be a bunch of scribbles- luckily, there was a translation beneath it.
“Join the Star Allies!
We even made some snacks for you!!
From, Kirby.”

>Sometimes I’m all for going “yea being a boat is awesome!” and other times I overhear someone saying something like “man I just finished eating the best burger ever, 11/10” and then get sad because like, man, I want to be able to eat the best burger :c And then sometimes I find out later that person got really bad food poisoning and it makes me a bit less envious. But still I will never not be mildly to very upset that I don’t even get to know what food tastes like. Imagine going your whole life knowing nothing about a thing except ‘It Is A Way!’ without being able to comprehend it beyond how others describe it.
>Like ok, great, got it, food is really good, except when it’s terrible, or just mid, and also there are so many adjectives I can use in a sentence but not actually understand myself. All I know about sweet and sour and spicy and bitter and savory and umami and tangy and salty and whatever other flavor words there are is that, apparently, years of research, described experiences, and records from all across the world have confirmed that they mean something tastes, but sometimes the taste is distinct and gets its own word. As someone who literally has it written into who I am and how I operate to want to know more about the world around me, the fact that I literally can’t get a better understanding of that is sometimes infuriating.
>Anyways apparently someone tried to trick Magolor with the classic “mayonnaise filled donuts in a box” prank, but they gave him the one that had actual crème filling by mistake. According to him it was “really good” and “wasn’t too sweet despite the sprinkles and glaze and filling”. He spent the day away because he didn’t want me to prank him but I didn’t have any ideas anyways.

If I had a nickel for the number of Magolors I knew of I’d have enough money for chicken nuggets. If I had a nickel for every talking Lor I knew of, however, I’d only have 10 cents, which seems unfair. Anyways does Lor apply for boat insurance, home insurance, or life insurance? Or none of the above like the other one
"I want chicken nuggets…" Beep mumbled before the Starcutter answered the question. "I apply for none, because I'm a boat only in design, I’m not technically a place of permanent residence, nor do I fulfill the requirements for “life” insurance>" Lor replied, thinking over the rest. "Maybe other Lors are just shy>" She suggested. "It's kinda sad to think that other Lors don't tend to talk. I love talking to Lor, she's super fun." Magolor piped up. "Awh, thanks Mags~>" She chimed back.
"There’s more Lors?" Beep asked, excited by the possibility. "Can we meet all of them?" She pressed. The Halcandran brought a hand to where a chin would be. "I'm guessing they're talking about other Lors from a multiversal standpoint. Just like how they know about a bunch of different mes. In which case, it'd be technically possible to, it would just be hard to find them. Just one universe is pretty big, imagine searching through even more." Magolor explained.
"Hm, putting it like that, we've been really seriously lucky." Reverie spoke up, wondering what the odds of meeting two of himself were. "Yeah, huh? We got to meet, lots of people…" Beep trailed off, the experience not universally positive. "Have you met, other yous, Wiz?" She questioned. "Once. His life went pretty differently from mine, but we still seemed pretty similar. Didn't figure out which dimension he was from, not that I know very many." Magolor told her, remembering that exchange well. It occurred to Beep that she did know about one other universe. "Dad, you know all about the mirror world, right? Have you ever been there, Wiz? Lor?" She asked them. Her father nodded. "Yup, it's where I'm from." Reverie confirmed. The Halcandran's eyes lit up. "Oh, you're from the other side of the mirror?? I've always wanted to go there for myself! Though, I hear that Popstar is less friendly with visitors." Magolor rattled off, clearly interested in the subject. "He won’t tell me why." The Matter huffed. "But, it’s pretty…" She added.
"…it's, complicated." Reverie responded, considerably less upbeat than he was a moment before, something the Halcandran noticed. "Ah… well, I'm sure we could work something out, right?" Magolor offered. "The mirror world certainly is, a different place. It’s probably best visited with a guide>" Lor piped up, having been silent about her own info on the place up til then. Knowing he was the best guide they had, the Dream Fae became visibly uncomfortable "We, have time to think on that." Magolor added.
"It would be cool to meet another me…" Beep thought, giving her father a break. "I like that I found you, Wiz." She added, grinning. "Me, too! And I bet you're the coolest you." Magolor replied. "Oh, you KNOW I am." The Matter confidently stated.

So from what I’m gathering about most of the people, not all, who’ve turned against Magolor is either 1. They’ve never trusted him at all or 2. We’re looking for an excuse to turn against him and take him down. If not both. The fact Meta falls into any category is very sad, and makes me wonder if he got close to Mags just to keep an eye on him at first.
Yep yep!! Its sad that three of the Popstar Four had that doubt for him ever since, even after hes proven himself time and time again. Its understandable though; even after the events of RTDL he was kind of an ass. In my interp, he only started getting better after Planet Robobot (initially bc he saw the Four as a form of protection from threats he cant handle), and that was a long, slow process….
Ive yet to fully write-up how Bandee and Dedede got convinced. These two actually believed that Mags got possessed at first, but Meta convinced them to turn to his side/believe his argument. And Meta’s judgement has saved them many times before…
Meta did keep an eye on Mags, when they were forced to work together during a previous arc Ive written (Zero3). He only did so when the relationship was strictly formal. When the barriers started breaking down, though, he started to put more and more trust in the mage. Its just…never complete. And never enough that Meta would trust Mags with anything too important.
And not enough to really believe that hes in danger during the events of Back to Zero.

what do you think of magolor soul’s true arena desc? makes me think he isn’t truly sorry.
Tumblr media
I wanted to save this ask to write something MUCH more comprehensive about this but, um, serious RL stuff (it's positive stuff, no worries. I'm just kinda anxious about it...) popped up during my break so since I'm going to need to duck away for a few days to cool down (and because I'm currently super mega obsessed with True Arena Magolor) I decided to hit this one quickly.
So, in brief, this game has an excellent translation. Forgotten Land quality. I'd say even a little bit above that, since Magolor's writing in the epilogue is so good. (Biased?)
But there is a slight shift of TONE in Magolor Soul's True Arena description, the 2nd phase, where he talks directly to Kirby. (Honestly, this is probably just an issue of spacing. Magolor talks a LOT and you can see this screen is packed with text. Amusingly, spacing was my guess for the loss of a few details from Magolor Soul's pause screen in the original game.)
Tumblr media
(Photo nicked from willidleaway)
Here is a quick "alternate" translation from me:
"Kirby, frankly, I found you a pain to deal with. And the way you looked at me with that blank stare even after I betrayed you? It irks me that I keep having to rely on you but... I've had enough. Kirby of the Stars, hurry up and destroy this thing on my head. When you do, I'll come back and... heheheh...I'll tease you plenty!"
Tumblr media
The part TumblingPotatoes is referring to is probably the part I translated as "...found you a pain to deal with." The word in question can mean "dislike" as in "We've invited Magolor to dinner tonight!" "Ugh, I really dislike that guy!" but it really just means someone that, for a variety of reasons, you may struggle to deal with.
The fact that Magolor is a consummate liar but Kirby approaches everyone with honesty and openness is a quick and easy answer for why Magolor might feel that way about Kirby. Not to mention, as he says in both versions, Kirby is SO honest they didn't even react with shock or hurt when Magolor betrayed them. It's hard to say WHY Kirby didn't have that kind of emotional reaction, maybe they just knew better? Maybe Kirby figured, "Huh. I guess it's just time to beat the evil out of you like I've done with all my friends to date!"
The reason I prefer the Japanese slightly is because the English had to combine the "...it irks me to rely on you" and "hurry and break this thing on my head" into one line which, while Magolor is meant to be speaking from a place of pride (he doesn't want to admit he needs help. But of course, he really, really, REALLY needs help) it does sort of give him a cocky attitude in English. (The addition of "Ugh" does something similar. It does a wonderful job showing he's having to fight his own nature to admit this.)
But in Japanese, his desperation ("hurry") comes off better. It makes him sound a little bit more sad too (Something about Magolor using "this thing" in Japanese, 「頭のコレ」, even though it's the same phrase in English... but the context behind refusing to identify the Crown always gives me the feeling that at this point in the soul-consuming process, he's too frightened to even say it's name.)
...And this all hits especially hard because he uses the key phrase "Kirby of the Stars." Any time anyone invokes Kirby's "full name" you know things are serious.
His last line, his "threat" to toy with you/tease you is basically just the same Magolor you see in the epilogue. He can "turn over a new leaf" and still be a villainous & mischievous little egg. Saving his life isn't going to give him a personality transplant. It isn't going to mean he doesn't like playing pranks on people - or that he thinks that hitting a bomb with a frying pan isn't one of the multiverse's greatest games and definitely needs a space in his theme park. ^^
Again, he may also be trying to preserve some of his tattered dignity there. The long and short of it is... Magolor is being "tsundere" (I hope I don't need to explain that one...?)
Yes, he cares about Kirby as a friend. (Will he say it? No.) Yes, he feels bad for what he did. (Will he say that? Also no.)
...He CAN'T. It's not the way he communicates. But remember that Magolor has lied to you throughout the whole game. And it's the Liar Magolor that always tells you how "thankful" he is, how "happy" he is you two met. How "wonderful" and "amazing" Kirby is.
The fact that Magolor is willing to say "yeah, you kind of annoyed me" is a sign that Magolor is giving Kirby something he's potentially never given ANYONE before...
The truth.
So yes, this experience HAS changed him for the good and he absolutely, undeniably cares about Kirby.
--
Last Minute Addition:
It's interesting, in light of the very likely sounding theory that Magolor has already been fully consumed by the crown in this fight (his eyes disappear right as he uses "the last" of his ability to fight against the crown to leave you a single apple) and CANNOT be saved that the English text "...then someday..." and "...I MAY get to toy with you..." when the Japanese doesn't have these vagueties on Magolor's behalf. (I was influenced enough by it that even I included the phrase "when I come back" when Magolor just says "I will again...tease you")
Does he know it's already too late? It kind of gives you the feeling that Magolor is either lying to sooth Kirby from what the puffball has to do (kill him) or he's trying to goad Kirby on into finishing this. Really just makes the whole thing more heartbreaking.

Headcanon: Heroes in Another Dimension reopened old wounds for two people
Tumblr media
Kirby and the star alliance went through two adventures. The first one was in the main story where the group went out to stop the Jambastion cult. The second adventure then took place in Heroes in Another Dimension, where the group then went to Another Dimension to save Hyness and the mage sisters from the brink of demise.
There's something worth talking about, though. That the second adventure takes place in Another Dimension. Allow me to talk about my headcanons for how two dream friends handled this adventure:
Magolor and Susie have both been stranded in Another Dimension before, with Magolor having been stuck there for about five months while Susie was stuck there for like more than a damn decade. They both absolutely hated it. Neither of them wanted anything to do with that wretched place ever again after they left in their respective instances. And then... they've had to GO BACK to Another Dimension again during HiAD with Kirby and all the other dream friends!
After the first Star Allies adventure of defeating Void Termina, Kirby then reassembled the group to go to Another Dimension. Magolor and Susie were very hesitant to stay in the group, for obvious reasons.
They've both told Kirby about their Another Dimension experiences in the past before HiAD. It took Kirby a few seconds to remember this when he noticed them both being hesitant to join in on the adventure for HiAD... and he came to understand why. But nevertheless, he insisted they still join with the rest of the group, as he then promised that they won't be there alone this time nor will they have to be there for too long. That, and Taranza would've been sad if they didn't join.
And so Magolor and Susie stayed in the star alliance on the adventure for HiAD, despite their traumatic experiences with Another Dimension. They were not excited for it, though. They were scared that old wounds were going to reopen and it'll really torment their minds.
When HiAD's events went on... oh boy... the feeling of old wounds reopening for both Susie and Magolor was much worse than they anticipated! They had horrific flashbacks of the times they were previously stuck in this hellscape. It got so bad that they struggled to prevent themselves from going frantic at times. Taranza was right alongside them in this adventure, and it made him horrified to see how traumatized these two looked to be going through this place. He had to keep assuring that they'll be okay and they'll get through this.
Taranza, of course, was never stuck in Another Dimension beforehand like Magolor and Susie were. HiAD was his very first time of being in that place, and while they both did tell him about their experiences with this place before... it really hit different when he got to see the place himself and watching these two be so frightened and afraid over it. It was one thing to be told about it, it's on another level for him to actually start knowing what it was like for these two to have been stuck here. It has made him feel all the more heartbroken for them, especially Susie who was stuck here for so much longer.
Taranza had given hugs to both of his fellow wave 3ers during this harrowing adventure, reminding them they're not alone this time, and that he and the others would make sure that they don't get hurt here.
It got really bad when all the other dream friends started noticing Magolor and Susie looking so distraught during HiAD. It got to the point that the group asked them why they were so frightened and upset. The two of them didn't want to say why, but the group insisted out of concern... and eventually, the two reluctantly opened up why.
The thing is that Magolor and Susie have both been repressive about their trauma before this point. Mostly, I mean. They've told a few of their closest friends, but the star alliance at large did not know about their baggage regarding their experiences with Another Dimension.
Magolor only disclosed his Another Dimension experiences with Marx, Taranza and Susie before HiAD, and begged them to not tell anyone with them listening. He's been secretly embarrassed with how much he fell from grace when he was sent to that twisted dimension and didn't want to let it be known to a lot of people. While he of course made his apology when returning to Dream Land (haha, pun!), he didn't explain to most about what actually happened to him before he returned. He wanted to move on from those debilitating horrors.
Before HiAD, anything about Susie's backstory (Another Dimension, her daddy issues, you name it) was literally only known to Kirby, Magolor and Taranza. They were the only ones that she was comfortable enough to open up to, and she pleaded them to keep it all a secret. She's never said a thing about her backstory to anyone else.
For comparison, Taranza is much more open about his trauma, and the entire star alliance knew about his deal with Sectonia before HiAD. But until HiAD, nobody except for Kirby and the other wave 3ers knew anything about Susie's grief because she didn't tell them. She didn't even tell anyone aside from those three that Max Haltmann was her dad to begin with. She's largely kept all her personal business to herself, and has been trying to maintain a 'smart kickass coolgirl' persona and tried hard to not look sad or traumatized to most people.
When Susie was backed in a corner to make a confession during HiAD, she deliberately left out details. She only said "Yeah, I was stuck here before. I was separated from my dad, and I came back to him, but he's dead now. But I'm okay guys, because I've been trying to overcome the grief, and that's why I didn't talk about it to you all before!" and didn't elaborate further. The reality is that she's been struggling more to heal than she wanted most of the dream friends to believe. She just didn't want them all to treat her like some sort of charity case because she considered that to be degrading. She wants to be seen as a coolgirl, m'kay? Magolor also wanted to be seen as cool. Neither of them wanted to be seen as traumatized trainwrecks, but unfortunately their frantic behavior in HiAD just blew their cover.
Taranza decided to help bail out both Susie and Magolor. He told the rest of the star allies that they've been working really hard to recover from their trauma, and told the group to please don't mention those two's trauma anywhere around them because it'd make them both uncomfortable. They were already feeling uncomfortable when they were backed in a corner to explain why they were scared during HiAD!
The group agreed to it, but they were flabbergasted by the revelations nevertheless, especially what Susie disclosed. They had no idea that Susie had gone through something like that. She's usually acted either very cutesy or very logical/formal around them before this. Magolor had acted very silly and cool around the group before the confession. The group thought it was weird to be repressing their trauma like that, but they adhered to the requests of not bothering them about it. The two then thanked Taranza for that!
Also, to be fair, Marx was singlehandedly an additional reason why Susie tried to hide her daddy issues to most. This is because she's watched Marx tell Sectonia jokes to upset Taranza. Unfortunately, after HiAD, Marx then told jokes about Susie's dad that caused her to snap. She already hated Marx beforehand because he was doing really aggravating things such as licking her ice cream and tampering with her robotics!
Susie and Magolor were so relieved when the events of HiAD were finally over. They were really agonized during the adventure. They were the quickest to go home as soon as they were allowed to... with Susie resting for a while before going back to work in order to recover from the overwhelming stress she underwent. Magolor went to go sleep excessively inside the Lor Starcutter when he got back home. Phew!!
Kirby felt bad for having made them go. He actually went to each of their homes and told them that he was sorry. It's okay though... they weren't mad at him. He's still their buddy! HiAD just sucked for them.
That's about all I got for this post. Thank you if you read it! I had this idea for a while, considering both Magolor and Susie have been stuck in Another Dimension, and man there's no way they could've looked forward to having to go back to that place AGAIN during HiAD.
Also, it sucks that Magolor and Susie never met during their times in Another Dimension. It could've helped out so much. If they met, then they would've actually had someone in the lowest point of their lives. But instead, they were both completely alone in that hellscape. :(
See you for the next one, guys.

do you have any specific dynamics involving magolor you'd like to see more? like any underrated ones you don't quite see as often in the community? i know we talked about this a bit earlier together, but i wanted to hear you map out your thoughts!
Hmmmm well
one of the things i rarely come across in the fandom but i think is really interesting is mago / dedede. I think their personalities clash yet they have a ton in common; both are determined and may be stubborn at times, but also have difficulty expressing their true feelings and tend to bottle things up for the sake of others. They also both like engineering n all that stuff which is cool, just some things they could talk about. They both obviously fucked up in the past for similar reasons by letting their desires get the better of them but attempted to change it which is a huge similarity! feel like dedede could give some pointers about how to handle magolor's guilt and especially dealing with possession?? idrk
i also see like NONE of this which is sad bc both are my favorites lmao but mago / bandee !! i LIVE for their dynamic in the super kirby clash novel; how bandee doesnt put up with none of mago's shit fdgfh and how protective he is of kirby. They don't give us much to work with besides that but could always spark some good ideas anyways. (apparently we could be getting more of their dynamic soon though... Not sure) Both also like apples. Apple buddies
mago / daroach is very good too, in a similar way to mago with dedede (both thieves who ending up taking a better turn yet still enjoy to stir things up sometimes). I like to imagine that him and daroach will purposely steal things from each other just for fun like in that one ksa skit (but they always give them back), it's just funny to watch the other freak out over it. And haha Funny cat and mouse
I think an interaction with mago dedede and daroach together would be hilarious bc daroach has a grudge against dedede yet they all have a ton in common with each other and mago's just sitting there enjoying the chaos. Could be really fun to figure out
but regardless i love any interaction with magolor tbh, they're all so unique and it's fun to figure out how he would react to everyone bc of how unpredictable he is

May we please have Marx's Bio?
Tumblr media
YELLS in horror holy shit. You Will Now Get Marx’s Bio Under The Cut
Marx is an escaped demon beast notorious mainly throughout the Mr.Bright system. He’s had an ever increasing bounty on his head from both HNC and various regular governments and organizations due to both having the potential to be extremely dangerous and actively being a mild nuisance (that happens to have the ability to be dangerous). Marx himself isn’t actually very aggressive but his history of alternately being ostracized by everyone and being actively hunted down has caused him to develop somewhat of a bitter/cynical streak - but that’s just the tip of the Marx Iceberg. He contains multitudes. The more time he spends in Dreamland the more he shows the rest of himself. He’s not a bad kid! Fuck!
When he initially showed up to Dreamland he did Not Trust Like That; people trying to be nice to him and “acting” like they wanted to see him freaked him out, and he was more or less actively hostile to anyone trying to figure out where he was staying. If he was in a good mood he’d show up to screw around, maybe even talk to people, but if people were too nice to him he tended to knock something over for good measure and get the fuck out of there. There’s a reason he lives in a nondescript hole in the middle of Whispy’s Woods and refuses to tell people where it is. Once he got used to the idea that people actually WERE okay with him being around he started to relax and show more of his real personality.
Most people would probably describe him as massively temperamental. On a good time he tends to be bright and curious, relatively glad to do some light socializing and stick his nose into anything that looks interesting (and possibly get into trouble). On a bad time he tends to be quiet and moody, quick to snap at attempts to interact with him. It’s more common to see him in a good mood nowadays, but it’s not hard to quickly sour his mood if you’re not used to him... He also tends to bounce back just as quickly these days, though, so it’s no surprise he’s gotten a reputation for having “unpredictable” mood swings by people that don’t know him too well. Some people actually like him better when he’s moody because he’s very unlikely to cause trouble when he’s in a bad mood. That’s mean though.
He’s not used to being in a community and he doesn’t really try to make himself fit anyone else’s schedule. It’s not rare for him to straight up disappear for days or sometimes weeks on end, and then suddenly show up at someone’s house looking for Interaction at 3 in the morning. [Magolor and The Lor’s decision to stay permanently has been a massive relief to the rest of Dreamland, since now he won’t drop in on anyone else in the middle of the night.] He IS often considered a nuisance even now but not by much more than any of the other kids. He’s just a weird kid-thing. Kids are gonna be nuisances. Honestly most Dreamlanders hardly ever remember Marx is a demon beast, he’s just an annoying kid that lives in the woods
Magicwise! He is a very specialized battlemage. He casts high-end offensive Light elemental magic with ease, and although he has slightly more difficulty with it he also has absolutely devastating Void elemental spells up his sleeve. His skill in using these two volatile and opposing elements in offensive spells alone makes him quite the dangerous mage. As a tradeoff, he has a very limited repertoire outside of explicitly offensive magic; even though he’s quite well-versed in the theories he has extreme difficulty actually pulling other things off. The best non-offensive magic skill he has is small scale spatial manipulation, and everything else is stuck at small party trick levels. Sad. Another unfortunate side effect to his whole deal is that his general magical situation is super precariously balanced… Light and Void magic Do Not play nicely with each other, and if he doesn’t monitor his own magic carefully he’ll easily hurt himself. Oof!
Minor unstructured facts bc I no longer know how to organize this:
hobbies include: reading. he does like Physical Activities but his favorite thing is actually just reading. don’t be fooled this is a massive nerd
the Nondescript Hole that he lives in is just one out of the massive network of old lava tubes that riddle the place. It’s actually the second one he’s picked out, since his first pick happened to at high flooding risk during the wet season :( . He does have a little bed and a rug for himself in there though. Fuck yeah
he likes apples... Whispy’s Wood is PRIME fucking real estate for a kid who loves apples
ironically he can’t actually taste sugar too much? he still likes fruits, probably because of Textures and other non-sugar parts of their flavor profile but he doesn’t like candy. They don’t taste like much to him.
The AU has roots in the Anime. I don’t draw things out often bc I’m still shy abt it but other than the other mage kids he’s also pretty ok friends with Fumu aka one of the few nerds in this godamn country, especially before the other mage kids showed up
I still don’t know exactly how he showed up in Dreamland it changes every time I try to think about it. Dont ask. One day ill figure it out permanently

Demon AU post... Uh 3 I think
There's a less development on the heaven side of things because we like nasty little demon guys and corruption and shit too much lol. The main heavenly characters are Galacta (Gabriel) and Morpho (Abaddon).
Galacta is huge and dangerous and a hotshot celebrity angel and has a horrible temper. When he got in trouble with God for spending too much time with his demon bf he threw a tantrum that set off a volcanic explosion or something.
He does act as a messenger of sorts, frequently conveying messages to the other characters from God (they're tight), and while I thought it was funny if he wasnt actually a Battle Angel and was the patron saint of stamp collectors despite being super fuckin buff and aggro my partner (who plays him) retconned that and Galacta says that portrayal is a mistake/misunderstanding of some sort. Not sure what he does besides sending messages, probably does lazy patrols and beats up demons that venture onto the surface.
DMK (the incubus) decided he wanted to seduce a real ass angel one day and bet his buddies he could get Gabriel. He did this under the assumption that Gabriel was a mild mannered stamp angel and all his friends knew the truth but no one told him because they're demons and thought it'd be funny if he got beat up or whatever. Joke's on them because it totally worked and they ended up dating for a couple hundred years (they're immortal okay).
Galacta grew horns thanks to DMK's demonic influence so demon au Galacta is just a normal ass Galacta gijinka. His own inherent extreme holiness kept his transformation from ever going past that point. DMK in turn got a fucked up eye from Galacta's heavenly influence. It's fine he doesn't mind.
Side note: I adore dametagala, especially this version of them, for whatever reason they're just really fun and funny and good.
Morpho used to be a more standard high ranking angel by the name of Muriel but came into the job and title of Abaddon. My research on Abaddon was vague and sparse so in the au they're just a grim reaper esque figure that leads dead souls up or down wherever they need to go and makes sure that the people who go down stay down. They live alone in The Pit and they're pretty lonely and have seen a lot of sadness and death and almost everyone is scared of them but they're actually very nice.
Dedede is Daniel and acts as a sort of guardian angel to MK. He actually spends a lot of his time disguised as a human and is a friend of MK's. MK (for now) is completely ignorant to the fact that Dedede is an angel and truly believes that Dedede is just his Normal Friend he can go to to get away from his whacky life dating a demon and another angel. MK believes he needs to hide the weird supernatural shit in his life from Dedede and Dedede can't say anything because he's weirdly adamant about not revealing his true identity (antiquated rules or something?).
Dedede and Galacta are of course acquainted, basically coworkers, technically Morpho as well but Dedede and Galacta know each other better because Dedede is "assigned" to MK and Galacta is one of his bfs. Dedede does not like how careless and open Galacta is about being an angel and the fact that he's just fucking dating a human dude. He doesn't exactly scold him (especially since God was literally like it's fine whatever lol) but he frequently expresses his frustration with it.
Galacta and DMK keep encouraging him to just fess up like its fine dude it doesn't matter just tell him but Dedede refuses. Partially because rules or whatever mostly because he'd hate to shatter MK's illusion of having a normal human friend. Maybe he thinks he does a better job as a guardian from a more "hidden" role.
Other characters that are probably angels but we haven't given much thought to: Taranza, Shadow Marx, Ribbon, Fairy Queen, Bandana Dee
Also Marx may have been the son of God but he just decided like "im evil now" and that's why he's in hell with Magolor.

Kirby: Rescue the Friend in the Great Labyrinth! Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Before the extra large castella, Kirby shut his eyes with rapt attention. It’s because he felt that he wouldn't be able to hold it and inhale it in one gulp if he opened his eyes. However you look at it, a castella this large, delicious-looking, and top-class is too good to swallow whole in one gulp.
He should first close his eyes, smell it......and savor it without rushing after relishing the aroma of the castella...... Kirby opened his eyes with his heart racing. The castella was shining in gold, as if telling him to hurry up and eat. “Time to dig innnnnn......!” It was when Kirby opened his mouth while on the verge of drooling. “Kirbyyyyyy!! This is terrible~!” The door slammed open and Waddle Dee came tumbling in. Kirby blinked in surprise with his mouth wide open. “Waddle Dee......?” “We’re in trouble! Hot water, Kirby!” “S......Sure. My bad, Waddle Dee.” Kirby felt a bit guilty and apologized. “I wasn’t gonna hog it all to myself. It’s just that I had only one castella......” “Come on, shake a leg, Kirby!” “Chef Kawasaki gave this to me......he said that it’s a prototype menu for his shop......and said to give it a try and tell him my thoughts, so......I......I......” “I said that we’re in trouble! Hurry up and come!” “It’s not good to try it in secret, huh. I should go halfsies for something that’s yummy......sorry, Waddle Dee! I’m glad you made it in time. I’ll split it in half from now......” “Geeeez!!! That’s not what we’re talking about!” Grabbing Kirby’s hand, Waddle Dee pulled him down from his chair. “Wha......what is it, Waddle Dee? Ah, are you going to Chef Kawasaki to get seconds?” “I said that’s not it. That guy came!” “That guy? The ramen guy? The oden guy?” “It’s not a food stand! Anyways, just come!” “But the castella......” “The castella can come later!” Pulling Kirby reluctant for the castella, Waddle Dee started sprinting at full throttle.
Where the pair arrived at was the square at the foot of Mt. Dedede. Shaped like a sailboat, a spaceship with a familiar ring is docked. Kirby’s appetite was blown away right as he laid his eyes on it. “Ah, that ship is......Lor Starcutter! You don’t mean!?” “There's just no way. That guy has shown up!” Waddle Dee pointed to the Lor Starcutter with an unusually stern look. Three people could be seen before the Lor. King Dedede is the one with a noticeably large build. The masked swordsman, Meta Knight is next him. Lastly, the one spruiking before them is...... “Magolor~!?” Shouted Kirby, and in complete contrast from just now, started sprinting with enough force to drag Waddle Dee. Magolor turned around, having noticed Kirby’s loud shout. With a hood on, his face was beaming with a smile. “Yo, Kirby! Long time no see! How’s everything?”

”Y......You......why......” Kirby stood on guard and glared at Magolor. He went through a bitter time with Magolor before. For him to show up in Dream Land as if nothing happened......he must be up to no good. “What did you come here for!? I’m not letting you do as you want! Get out of Dream Land!” “You have the wrong idea, Kirby. I’m really, really, sorry about that time. I really need you guys’ help this time!” He clasped his hands and fixed his eyes on Kirby. Kirby sealed his lips and shook his head “No can do. I’m not falling for the same trick twice. I won’t believe your words ever again!” “Don’t say that! I’m asking you here, Kirby......I want you to at least hear what I have to say.” Magolor hung his head downheartedly. “To tell you the truth......my friend is in trouble.” “......” “I want to go save him as soon as possible. But there’s nothing I can do by myself! I beg you, Kirby. Lend me your strength......!” Kirby still didn’t relax his expression. Meta Knight said, having listened in silence. “You came on a fool's errand, Magolor. There isn’t a single person that could be manipulated by your lies here.” “Don’t say that......Meta Knight......!” “Would you like to be slashed by my sword?” Meta Knight laid his hands on the prized sword, Galaxia. Magolor shuddered with fear and kneeled. “Listen to what I have to say......I want to save my friend! My best friend has been captured in the Great Labyrinth of the Mirror!” “......What? The Great Labyrinth......of the Mirror? On the verge of drawing his sword, Meta Knight, stopped his hands. Magolor said with a frantic look. “You guys know it too, right? That frightening mirror of legends......Dimension Mirror!” Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight all exchanged glances. Suspended above the skies of Dream Land, the Dimension Mirror is a sacred mirror in the Mirror World. It has a strange power to reflect the desires of everyone and grant them. “What do you mean? What happened to the Dimension Mirror?” Asked Meta Knight, where Magolor said while making exaggerated gestures. “My friend has been swallowed up in that mirror! He was unable to leave the Mirror World......I’m worried to death about him......I beg you, Kirby, save him!” Kirby wasn’t sure how he should respond. He does want to lend his strength if what he said is true. But would it be alright to trust him? You see, Magolor is a smooth talker. Kirby hasn’t forgotten that he went through a bitter experience from falling for his words before. Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee all kept their mouth shut. As expected, none of them seem to believe in him. Magolor said in tearful voice. “......I......see......you can’t trust me, huh......” “......” “I’m the one at fault, huh......but it’s sad, you know......how could you distrust even me caring for a friend......I thought Kirby would understand my feelings......” “......Huh?” “You care a lot about your friends. If a friend you love is in danger, you’d never turn a blind eye, would you?” Magolor glanced at Waddle Dee as he said so. Kirby realized suddenly. If Waddle Dee happens to be captured by a bad guy or is in distress, Kirby would go rescue him with all his strength. Whatever the danger may be, he is sure to face it without hesitation.” “I’m the same as you. I want to save my beloved friend at all costs......!” Magolor clung to Kirby with a frantic look. Kirby’s heart wavered. Magolor may be a big fat liar, but him caring for a friend could be genuine. Similar to how Kirby cares for his buddies. Kirby couldn’t possibly trample on such. “......Got it.” Kirby nodded. King Dedede was wide-eyed. “The heck did you just say, Kirby!? Don’t tell me that you believe in this prick!” “I do. I’ll go and save his friend.” “Really!? Hooray! Now that’s Kirby, so reliable!” Magolor jumped about in joy. “Kirby, you can’t just believe in him that simply. He could be up to something again.” Waddle Dee said in worry. “It’s ok-ay! If it’s a lie, I’ll teach him a lesson when that time comes!” Kirby looked at Magolor with a frightening face. Magolor nodded many times over. “I know that! I’ve turned over a new leaf. I don’t lie anymore.” “Then let’s set out pronto. Lead me to where the friend disappeared.” “Sure thing! ......Huh? What about you guys?” Magolor looked at King Dedede and Meta Knight. Without dropping their guard, the two glared at Magolor with a harsh look. Magolor shrugged his shoulders. “You guys ain’t coming......even when Kirby’s lending me his strength?” “Hmph! I’m not a Mr. Nice Guy like Kirby. I have no faith in those words of yours!” King Dedede folded his arms and turned away. Magolor said with sighs mixed in. “I see......that’s unfortunate......although my friend is really rich and open-handed......” “......What?” “I think he’ll repay his lifesaver very handsomely......he would treat you with a dream-like banquet prepared......” “A banquet......you say?” King Dedede gulped. Magolor turned his back on King Dedede. “There’s no helping it......then the feast will be for Kirby only......I wonder if Kirby could eat it all by himself......?” “I sure can~! Whatever the feast is, I can slurp it all in one go! Relax, Magolor!” With his eyes sparkling, Kirby spun once in midair. The last bit of doubts left deep in his heart were blown off with the word “feast.” Grabbing Magolor’s hand, Kirby was ready to start dashing at any moment “Let’s hurry up and go, Magolor! A feast, a feast! “My friend comes before the banquet!” “I know that! We’ll have a feast party after rescuing your friend~!” “Hold it!” Jumping out in a hurry, King Dedede stood in Kirby’s way. “You’re gonna leave me behind!?” “Step aside, King Dedede. You don’t believe in what he says, right?” “I changed my mind, since I’m a kind-hearted king. I can’t leave a troubled fellow be!” “You don’t need to come.” “You won’t stand a chance in the Dimension Mirror without my strength!” “I said there’s no need to come.” King Dedede and Kirby got on the Lor Starcutter, as if elbowing each other out. Magolor let out a soft giggle, and suddenly shifted his focus to Meta Knight.

His attitude unchanged, Meta Knight is glaring at him quietly. “I knew that you won’t believe in me. How cold, Meta Knight.” “......” “Well, it’s fine. There’s nothing to fear with Kirby with King Dedede together. I have no need for your strength. Toodle-oo!” Magolor turned his body and quickly boarded the Lor. Leaving the grounds of Dream Land, the Starcutter was steadily rising up. Waddle Dee whispered as he looked up at it. “It’s a little fishy......I can’t trust what he says.” “It’s natural. Magolor is a liar and a wizard. There isn’t a single truth to his words.” Meta Knight said resentfully. “Kirby cares for his friends more than anymore. He took advantage of that nature of his and moved his heart. Since something like friendship doesn’t work for King Dedede, he lured him with talks of food. He led them by the nose after learning the two’s nature thoroughly. I don’t like his way of doing things.” “How awful......taking advantage of Kirby’s kindheartedness!” His face seeping with anger, Waddle Dee scowled at the Lor that was becoming smaller and smaller. “Sir! That Magolor really is fishy. We can’t just leave it like this!” “......I wouldn’t want to be involved in their affairs,” Meta Knight sighed a little. “But, as you said, I can’t leave it be. I couldn’t care for what happens to Kirby and King Dedede, but I am concerned about what Magolor is up to.” Looking up at the sky, Meta Knight glared at the Lor that became as small as a sesame seed. “Let’s go, Waddle Dee. I ask you to not let your guard down. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Magolor is the most crafty in the universe.” Turning on his heels, Meta Knight headed to the Battleship Halberd moored nearby as he said. “Right, sir!” Waddle Dee nodded firmly and followed after him.
The Halberd caught up to the Lor Starcutter in no time. Magolor and the others were right in the middle of a strategy meeting by the time Meta Knight and Waddle Dee came on board. Kirby was, of course, glad to have the two joining them, but Magolor ignored the pair. “You guys are well aware of the Dimension Mirror, right?” In the meeting room of the Lor Starcutter, Magolor explained while walking about restlessly. “That mirror has a power to project someone’s wish and make it a reality. It’s bound to be in the Mirror World, but my friend happened to get his hands on it......” “Happened to? What do you mean? How did your friend hold of the Dimension Mirror?” He questioned pointedly, where Magolor paused and turned around in an ill humour. “Don’t interrupt me when I’m talking......to begin with, why did you get on the Lor, Meta Knight?” “Change of heart. More than that, answer the question. Dimension Mirror isn’t someone that can be obtained that simply. Just how did he......” “Beats me. I wonder if he just picked it up? Anyhow, my friend got ahold of the mirror and showed it to me first. He’s my closest friend!” “Did you ask for anything to the mirror?” Asked Kirby. Magolor shook his head and spreaded both his hands. “I had no time for that......as me and my friend was talking, the mirror started shining suddenly, and swallowed up my friend in the blink of an eye!” Magolor shivered as if looking back that time. “I was so scared! The mirror swallowed up my friend, clouded up in pale white, and didn’t display anything at all!” “The Dimension Mirror......” “Uh-huh. I lost all my strength. I had no idea what I should do......so I decided to borrow you guys’ strength!” “Where is the Dimension Mirror right now?” Asked Meta Knight, where saying “Over here,” Magolor beckoned everyone and started walking. The automatic door opens, where a dim hall was on the opposite side. Placed in the center of the empty hall is a large mirror. It’s a mystical mirror wreathed in ornaments resembling gold-colored wings.
Tumblr media
As Magolor said however, the mirror’s surface was fogged up in pure white. Just like a lake with its surface frozen over. Without lowering his guard, Meta Knight said as he laid his hands on his sword. “So this is the Dimension Mirror? It does look like it on the surface, but......I can’t sense the mystical power that that mirror is sure to have. That’s funny......” “But it did swallow up my friend!” Magolor drew his body back in a terrified manner. “I had no idea what I should do, so......I at least brought the mirror here.” “Your friend is trapped inside this mirror, huh.” Kirby trotted up to the mirror. Waddle Dee warned him in a hurry. “Be careful, Kirby! It’s not safe to approach it carelessly!” “No problemo! Looks like its power is gone, just as Meta Knight said. I can’t feel anything.” Kirby peered into the mirror. The white, foggy mirror isn’t reflecting anything. “This isn’t a mirror but a white plate of glass in this way......I wonder what happened to the Dimension Mirror......” Kirby gently laid his hands on the surface of the mirror. Just then: The foggy mirror regained its sparkle in no time. Kirby’s surprised face was reflected in the mirror. “Hu......Huh? The mirror is......?” Kirby raised his voice in astonishment. Simultaneously, as if being pulled by his display in the mirror, Kirby was dragged into the mirror! “Ahhhhh!?” Kirby’s shout was cut off in the middle. “Kirby!?” By time Waddle Dee screamed, Kirby was nowhere in sight. Meta Knight muttered in blank amazement. “What is the meaning of this......is the Dimension Mirror asking for Kirby’s strength? Just why......” Magolor jumps up and shouts aloud. “This is awful! This is the same as the time with my friend! My friend was also engulfed by the mirror like this! Is Kirby all right? I’m worried to death!” “......You seem quite happy for what you’re saying, Magolor.” Meta Knight pointed out, where Magolor shook his head in haste. “What’re you saying? That’s not what is. Shake a leg, everyone! You’ve got to save Kirby!” “Hmph, you're not the boss of me! You go first since you said it!” King Dedede seized Magolor firmly by the neck and flung him forcefully at the mirror. “Eh......wahhhhh!? What are you doing, you hooligan!!!!!?”
Tumblr media
Magolor vanished, as if being swallowed up by the mirror. Dusting his hands, King Dedede went towards the mirror as well. Waddle Dee spoke to him nervously. “Your Highness, are you going to jump into this mirror......?” “You betcha. I can’t stand the thought of Kirby hogging the feed all to himself. You can stay here, Waddle Dee. You won’t be of any use anyways.” “No, I’ll go too, sir! I’m worried for Kirby......” Waddle Dee realized suddenly and buttoned his lips in mid-sentence. King Dedede glanced down at Waddle Dee. “Worried? What’d you mean?” “N......No......that’s......” “I had a feeling it was fishy for quite a while now. You wouldn’t happen to have got along with Kirby behind my back, did you......?” “N-No way! I meant that......I’m worried about Kirby hogging the feast all to himself!” “You mean it?” “Of course, sire. Kirby is my enemy! That jerk dares to rise against Your Majesty!” “Good, good, there you go.” His suspicion cleared, King Dedede turned back to the mirror. Waddle Dee sighed in relief. Waddle Dee and Kirby are very close with each other, but that’s a secret to the king. Dedede sees Kirby as a rival and would bicker with him one way or another. He’s bound to burst enough blood vessels to destroy Castle Dedede if he finds out that he and Kirby are actually friends. (Since it’s Kirby we’re talking about, I have faith that he’s all right......but just don’t get hurt!) Waddle Dee prayed secretly in his heart. King Dedede looked back at Meta Knight behind him. “What are you gonna do, Meta Knight?” “It can’t be helped. I’ll go with you.” “Hmph, I won’t let you have the feeds even if you follow me!” “Don’t lump me with you. I only wish to shed some light on the mirror.” Meta Knight swiftly rushed into the mirror with the word. As though losing to him means trouble, King Dedede also plunged into the mirror in a hurry. Waddle Dee cannot resist either. Though he couldn’t help but be scared, he shut his eyes and boldly ran into the mirror.
