HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIRBY!!!! (and headcanons for Kirby's birthdays)
Tumblr media
IT'S KIRBY'S 32ND ANNIVERSARY!!!!
I headcanon that Kirby's birthdays get celebrated BIG TIME in-universe.
As in, he has giant birthday parties happening right outside his house every year.
All his friends show up.
King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, Rick, Kine, Coo, Nago, ChuChu, Pitch, Gooey, Marx, Adeleine, Ribbon, Shadow Kirby, Dark Meta Knight, Daroach and the rest of the squeak squad, Magolor, Taranza, Susie, Francisca, Flamberge, Zan Partizanne, Hyness, Elfilin, Clawroline, Leongar, Gorimondo, Sillydillo, and many more show up!
Even some waddle dees, waddle doos, chillies, burning leos, bonkers, bugzzies and other helper species show up too!
Kracko doesn't show up, and thankfully he's sensible enough to not try anything on Kirby's birthdays. He knows that everyone would hunt him down if he tried. He's not THAT stupid.
Kirby's birthdays are big events, as shown by the ^ amount of people that show up. It's a huge deal! Everyone cares about it!
And honestly, how couldn't they be big events? Kirby is the biggest hero in this universe. He's beloved and celebrated all over. He deserves big time celebrations after everything he's done for everybody.
While most of his birthday parties happen right outside his house, there have been a few occasions where they've happened elsewhere. One was held at the Forgotten Land's planet in Waddle Dee Town, while another was held in Merry Magoland in another part of Dream Land. (You can bet that Magolor was super glee and proud of that!)
Kirby really knows how to spread love and joy. He's spread it to so many people, and then they spread it to him on his birthdays.
<3
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIRBY!

I’m gonna be honest we are tired of people saying Flamberge and Francisca are sisters in a familial sense. When it’s not canon, it is fanon. Their relationship is left ambiguous.
Tumblr media
Also just because they were both raised by Hyness doesn’t equal they are sisters. People need to stop equating raised by same person = siblings.
I mean biggest example of this is a very popular canon lesbian pairing.
Tumblr media
Do not say Catradora is incest, there is no way in hell a tv show for children is going to make the main couple incestuous. Just like Fran and Berge these two were also raised by a cult leader.
Yes they are referred to as mage sisters, but nuns address each other as sister. We are not saying you can’t hc them as familial, because by all means go ahead. Just please stop insisting that everyone in the fandom must view and interpret them the same, or they will be ostracized, don’t fall into cult like mentality like these lesbos did.
If the pairing makes you that uncomfortable blacklisting, and the block button exist. There is no need to make call out posts when it comes to shipping discourse, it’s cruel and completely unnecessary. Most of all don’t jump to conclusions when people like certain ships, it doesn’t always equate that they are a proshipper. I’ve seen it too many times, and in most cases the person in question just has a different interpretation of the pairing that’s considered “controversial.”
We know we can’t control how people will perceive us, and we don’t want to. If you think I’m a freak for liking these ships go right ahead. I’m tired of acting like FranFlam isn’t cute and that it’s a bad pairing.

Headcanons for Susie's birthdays
HAPPY 8TH ANNIVERSARY FOR KIRBY: PLANET ROBOBOT!!!!!!
AND ALL THE CHARACTERS THAT DEBUTED IN THE GAME, INCLUDING SUSANNA PATRYA HALTMANN!!!!!
I have headcanons for what Susie's birthdays are like throughout her life... Planet Robobot's anniversary is the perfect day to post them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Susie experienced a massive deprivation of birthday celebrations. A large chunk of her life, her birthdays weren't even celebrated at all.
During the first several years of her life, her beloved father was there to celebrate little Susie's birthdays and spoil her rotten with presents. It was such a wonderful time for her. She loved every minute of it....
.... But that never happened ever again after she got sucked into the portal that sent her to Another Dimension. That changed it all forever.
That marks the beginning of Susie's birthdays going completely uncelebrated for a very long time. There was no way for her birthdays to be celebrated during her time in Another Dimension. Her father wasn't around to do it anymore. There was literally no other lifeform in Another Dimension that was willing to wish her a happy birthday... Susie didn't encounter anything aside from predatory sphere doomers that were ready to attack her time and time again.
Man, it would've helped out SO MUCH if she encountered Magolor at that place.
Susie tried to self-celebrate her first birthday in Another Dimension, but it felt very empty to do so. It didn't feel nearly the same as when her father was there to help celebrate it with her, and it didn't really did anything to cheer herself up because she was still utterly miserable to be stuck in this hell dimension. It was all-around tragic.
She was forced to concede to not having her birthdays receive any sort of celebration whatsoever for a long time. It was hard on her. She was spoiled so hard by everything her father did for her when she was little, it emotionally destroyed her to have all of that be forcibly taken away from her. She was deprived of so many things after she got banished to Another Dimension. She was robbed of so, so much.
She was stuck in that place for more than a decade. She's had to go that long without any birthday celebrations. That's... that's so long.
And to make matters worse, it didn't even stop there! When Susie finally escaped Another Dimension to see her dad again, her birthdays still weren't getting celebrated at all. The deprivation went on for even longer! On top of her dad not remembering her being his daughter at all and refusing to accept hugs from her, it would come as no surprise that he also didn't bother celebrating her birthdays at that point. He simply didn't have the emotional attachment to do so.
He didn't even celebrate his own birthdays anymore after Star Dream ate his mind.
It got to the point where Susie just saw her birthday as something insignificant. She was already used to not having it celebrated at all after being stuck in Another Dimension for so long, and so she just gave up on the mere idea of her birthday completely when her senile father couldn't be arsed to do anything for it. Everything that happened to Susie had eventually conditioned her into not caring about her birthday. That's what happens when one gets so deprived.
However... things change after the events of Planet Robobot, when Susie's father dies, and she makes friends for the first time in forever.
At one point, Kirby asked Susie when her birthday was. He was curious to know. Susie reluctantly answered. She told him what her birthday was, but by that point she didn't care about her birthday anymore. She said to him that she didn't celebrate it at all and didn't even see the point in doing so, since she has no family to celebrate it.
That response made Kirby sad. He's a little guy with an enormous heart. He cares so much about his friends, that's why he asks about their birthdays because he really wants to do something for them.
A lot of things about Susie made Kirby really sad after they became friends. Even just losing her father was sad enough for him, but she had even told him some of her tragic story which absolutely broke his heart. He's came to see just how deprived she was of so many things. That she broke down crying when he gave her a hug for the first time was proof of deprivation of hugs. That she went through so many birthdays uncelebrated is also proof of deprivation. Just... uggghhhh!
She didn't deserve that. She deserved so much better than that, Kirby thought. He wanted to do something for Susie when her birthday finally came around. He felt like he had to! And so he did.
Who's to say that your birthdays can't also be celebrated by people that aren't family?
At one point, when Susie's birthday came up, she got met with something she never expected to see. It shocked her beyond belief.
Kirby, Taranza and Magolor arranged a surprise birthday party for her. Those were her three main friends at the time, and it seemed like they all cared enough to do something when her special came up.
Susie finally experiences celebration for her birthdays again. After well over a decade of literally zero celebration, it comes rushing at her like a train. These three people literally went out of their way to help Susie try to feel like her birthday meant something once again.
... At first, she didn't know how to respond. She was completely speechless as she was caught by total surprise at them doing this.
But then it reminded her of when her father celebrated her birthdays back when she was a little kid, and how much she loved that. Was it.... was it seriously that long ago when her birthday saw any sort of celebration? It.... it was. It was. And here it is, it's happening again.
Susie couldn't help it. After this pondering, she grew extremely emotional over this surprise party. She breaks down crying. Her emotions were all over the place during this party. It's not usual of her to do this, but she rushed to give hugs to Kirby, Taranza and Magolor to thank them for doing this. She didn't ask them to arrange a surprise birthday for her... they were under no obligation to do this, but they fact they chose to do it anyway made her emotions go crazy.
It meant the world to her that they did this.
They continued arranging these birthday parties for her over the years afterwards. And at some point, it no longer became just Kirby, Magolor and Taranza that were celebrating Susie's birthdays. The three Mage Sisters joined in on this after Susie became close enough friends with them to where they were interested in doing things for her birthday, too. There was a total of six people doing this for Susie.
Even after her first birthday party, she still finds herself getting really emotional at many of the following ones. After not having these for so long, it means absolutely everything to her that these happen. It makes her feel like an excited little kid when her friends come by to do this for her when the day comes each year. She loves it so much.
Susie cherishes these parties happening for her birthdays.
She's been having to relearn and unlearn a lot things after detaching herself from emotions for a long time. Post-Robobot is the best time for her, tbh. Her dad may be gone, and she's been really hurt by his death, but now she has friends that really care about her. They're the best thing to ever happen to her. Because of them, she's been starting to realize what it's like to feel loved again. That life will be okay.
Her friends are the reason she's been able to heal from her past trauma. They've thrown things at her like love, comfort, hugs, and giving her celebration during her birthdays. And after having none of that for so long, she slowly softens up as a person over time after getting all of this once again. She really needed all this, didn't she?
After what she's been through, this sort of thing was long overdue.
Susie... is still certainly not the most emotional person around. A lot of the time, she's still kind of stoic. And she doesn't have a lot of friends, as she's still not very open to making a bunch of them. But she really cherishes the friends that she DOES have, and they can easily elicit emotion out of her sometimes. Honestly, she's not sure what she would do without them. They've done so much for her.
Thanks to them, her birthday is a day of happiness and joy for her. After that not being the case for so long, they turn it around for her.
Going to give a special shout-out to Taranza, because he is Susie's closest friend. And he also does something peculiar in each of her birthdays: every time her party is over and the rest of her friends go home, he stays for a little bit. He and Susie have some heartfelt talks, and he makes sure she gets her barrage of tight comfy bear-hugs for her birthday. Susie loves Taranza's hugs. She loves how soft and fuzzy he is, and him having 6 arms adds on to the comfiness that she feels from his hugs. Over the years, he's been really good at comforting her, both emotionally and physically. Susie cherishes him a bunch.
Kirby, Magolor and the Mage Sisters all deserve a thanks as well. They, along with Taranza, are the ones that help Susie relearn the special meaning of her birthdays. She's gotten back something she lost here. And it's a really wonderful thing for her. She deserved this.
Happy birthday, Susie!

Random Kirby Headcanon #5
Zan Partizanne was 14 when she first met Hyness. She came from a very, very abusive home and as a result tried to take her own life via lightning strike; however the priest found and saved her.
Initially, he had no plans to take her in, but when he heard her story and realized she had practically nowhere to go he offered to let her come with. Hesitantly, she accepted. At the time she did not trust him at all, but it was a better option than the alternative.
It took her a long time to start trusting him… trusting anyone, but seeing as how this was back before he was completely consumed by his hate, Hyness was very patient with her. He didn’t really understand what he was doing— he never intended to become a parent, and so he was a little bit awkward, but he tried his best to support her and offer her comfort, even when she was deeply suspicious and even afraid of him.
Eventually, she warmed up. Slowly, he coaxed her out of her shell and she realized all adults weren’t bad. After that, she became very, VERY attached to him, and very dedicated to Void, who he taught her about as well.
Once she asked him, crying, that if Void loved her why it let people hurt her. Hyness said it was only because it was sealed away and couldn’t protect her. Surely when it was freed it would make everyone who ever hurt her pay.
He found Flamberge about six months after he met Zan and on complete accident. He’d been researching something to do with Void (as he had been doing when he found all of then) when he stumbled upon a burning home and heard screaming inside. He rushed in to help, but by the time he extinguished the fire it was more or less too late. All of the family inside was dead.
Or… well, everyone except for one little girl. She was eight and on the brink of death. When saved, she was terrified and heartbroken, having been very close to her family.
Hyness took her in afterwards, as she also had nowhere to go, but she was distant with him at first as well. She had no interest in bonding with him or Zan at all, and often acted out in anger and grief. She said a lot of cruel things to them and spent most of her time alone.
Everything changed, though, when three months later Francisca came into the picture. Zan poked her head into Flamberge’s room and told her to come see something. Flamberge had no interest, but when Zan hissed it was “important” she grumpily relented.
Zan led her to Hyness, who was kneeling down to comfort someone— a crying child who could’t have been older than three. He was telling her that everything would be alright… that she was safe now.
She’d been found alone, half dead in a blizzard. To this day, no-one knows if her family left her there deliberately or if she was merely separated from them. Francisca herself has no recollection of the incident or her life before her induction into the cult in general.
Flambege was… shaken by the appearance of the young child. Still not trusting Hyness or Zan at the time, she was terrified they’d hurt the poor girl. And so it was then she made a vow. She’d protect Francisca and make sure nothing bad happened to her. Just like her family (including two big sisters) did for her when they were alive.
Of course, being eight years old and all, she wasn’t actually able to care for Francisca much. She was fiercely protective of her and kept her company, but it was Zan Partizanne and Hyness who took care of the majority of her needs as well as taught her to harness her magic. Because of this, cautiously, Flamberge began to warm up. She realized that they sincerely loved Francisca and wanted the best for her, and that they must have wanted that for her too.
It took her a long time to consider them family, but she does nowadays. She wishes they could have gotten to meet everyone else.
For a time, things went well for the four of them, but inevitably things took a dark turn. In his quest to summon Void and get revenge on the world that had exiled his people, Hyness was swallowed by the hatred in his heart. He began to act more and more erratic as well as care less about the Mage Sisters. By the time Francisca and Flamberge were young adults (and Zan was a little bit older), there was a lot of strife between them.
Zan was still fiercely dedicated to Hyness, and would do anything he said regardless of how terribly he treated her. Flamberge, in contrast, was frustrated by it and would argue with her a lot. Francisca honestly barely knew how to feel. After all, this was the only life she’d ever known. It’s not like she could just leave.
She and Flamberge definitely drifted away from Zan during this time. They’d always been codependent and had a special bond with each other they didn’t quite share with her, but now there was a deliberate air of avoiding and resenting her.
After Heroes in Another Dimension, the Mages began working on repairing their relationship with both each other and their father. It’s been a long, complicated process, but they’re making progress. Slowly but surely Zan is bridging the gap that formed between her and her sisters and Flamberge is learning to trust Hyness again.
He really sincerely feels bad for the way he treated the three of them. He loves them a lot and is trying his very best to make it up to them for what he did when he was in the throes of madness.
A very long time ago, before all of this went down, he used to call them “miracles that Void sent him” since he found all three of them while researching the dark god.
Nowadays, he just calls them “his miracles,” no Void necessary.

I saw your post comparing Elfilin and Hyness and thought you might appreciate my slightly (very) off topic ramble that got too long for a comment
I personally don't think the Jamba heart corrupted Hyness by itself, I think it absorbed the hatred and negative energy Hyness poured into it, and then that ended up corrupting him the longer it festered in the Heart (since it would have absorbed it without a release.)
So possibly a metaphor for what happens when people allow just anger to fester and become an all consuming hatred. That's just my interpretation though.
Oh and the Friend Heart might have come from the loyalty and good intentions which simply got overpowered by the negativity. (similar in a way to Elfilin being a manifestation of the small level of Elfilis' compassion but being overpowered when the two are brought together)
And furthermore, when the ritual went wrong and the heart split, the small amount of positive energy left in the Jamba Heart was gone, which may have tipped Hyness over the edge and into Insanity.
This interpretation comes full circle when the Friend Heart purifies Hyness at the end of Heroes In Another Dimension.
Ok I'm done now, sorry for the long sentences. Thought you might this silly little theory/headcanon, farewell 👈 (・ v ・👈)
Oh my gosh, I actually got a real ask. Alright, don't blow it, Sorta.
So I have heard of the whole "exacerbated his hatred" thing and that metaphor is pretty cool.
But forget about that, I wanna focus on that positivity part! I'm pretty sure that even if he understandably hated the scientifc Ancients for taking everything away from him and destroying his people, at least Hyness's initial ideas were to reach some kind of promised land to reunite with his lost people. And obviously his corruption wasn't exactly a quick one considering that "If my heart goes crazy..." pause screen.
What I find especially cool is the idea that Hyness's last remaining bit of positive energy was lost when the Heart exploded and led to the Friend Hearts. Maybe he still had just enough good left in him to realize how badly all of this was about to go and put in the Friend Hearts as a way to give at least some chance of himself being stopped (and perhaps saved). Maybe that good was the last remaining parts of his care and love for his adopted daughters (at least, that's how I always view the dynamic between those four). And of course, that last shred of positivity comes back around and allows him and the Mages to finally get the peace they needed for so long.
(Funnily enough, I've had not necessarily a headcanon, but just an idea in my head for years that Francisca and Flamberge were more concerned and upset about Hyness's corruption than Zan, who was all in on that stuff, and snuck in the positive energy of the Friend Hearts as a last-ditch attempt to not only prevent Void's rebirth, but give just a chance for their family to be saved. Not sure if that's a very smart idea (after all, 2019!Sorta wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed), but just a more emotional idea that's lingered for years. Yours might be better though!)
Man, am I starting to love this odd, messed-up family as of late!
