Ahmed reached out to me to help spread his fundraiser. He is urgently attempting to raise money to evacuate his displaced 7-person family, including his parents, wife, and brothers, from Gaza to Egypt and gain access to necessities of survival. He has only made kr111,012 out of his kr350,000 goal so far! Please share and donate, and if you can't donate, please still share!

Dear compassionate supporters,
I extend my heartfelt plea to you, driven by the urgency of the dire situation my family faces in the chaos of Gaza, a war-torn region. I am Ahmed Shamia, a fourth year student of application development, I come to you seeking your generous support to evacuate my beloved 7 family members from the hazardous conditions we currently endure in Gaza and relocate us to safety in Egypt.
Meet my remarkable family:
Parents:
Dad : A skilled social service employee and has many international certificates.
Mom : The heart of our family, A lovely teacher.
Me and my wife: a nice couple the war destroyed our dreams to be a nice family.
My sick brother Yasser : who has cerebral palsy and need an immediate care.
My middle brother Mahmoud : who have a big dream to complete his study.
My little brother omar: he also have a big dreams to study like every child in the world.
Shortly after the war started, our house was bombed, and we’ve since been displaced more than four times and lost all of our money. Our only hope of restoring some semblance of normal life is to evacuate. For over 170 days, we’ve lacked basic necessities. Among other things, we lack access to clean water, medicine, healthcare, and gas for cooking.
The Urgent Situation:
my family suffers of displacement and inability to care my older brother, who has cerebral palsy and cannot eat even his food. He eats it with difficulty because of problems in his lungs, and he now needs care and treatment. The medicines have become severed and his condition deteriorates day after day so that he does not know the taste of sleep because of the disease.
As I write you, the Israeli army’s planned invasion of Rafah grows ever closer. We have lost everything we’d worked so hard to earn and build, and now have no place to go. Your support and solidarity will give us a fighting chance of surviving and building our lives anew.
Financial Details:
Travel company (YA HALH) costs $5,000 for people over 18.
And $2,500 for people under the age of 18.
A total of $30,000 to evacuate the Shamia family from Gaza to Egypt.
And $10,000 to cover the care expenses of Yasser Mohamed Shamia, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
And an additional $10,000 to cover the cost of living and basic family needs.
Thank you for your kindness during this challenging time. Your support is crucial in this humanitarian endeavor.
any additional donations will go for their survival in Egypt and their return when war ends.
Exercise….Again… how do you think she went this time? (Read to the end (or skip) it’s worth it)
So after last time I was told that my heart probably freaked out as I was failing at normal human needs like food and sleep. So better equipped I went out today to try again and slow.
Just a walk… maybe a preset “hike” on the treadmill… HRM linked to see the rate easy. Ecg - in case a decent trace was obtained. Stemoscope taped to my chest - a hybrid erbs spot which actually got good sound despite movement. I felt like a lab rat but was ready to go.
Choose a trek. One looks easy… but didn’t check the stats. Instant 10 grade incline. It’s ok. We’re walking at 3km/h. Easy pace. Listening to may heart in my ears. The sound is good. I’m surprised. I can hear her picking up speed and my breathing getting faster and deeper. But I feel good.
At some point I jump off the treadmill to check the ecg and the sound come recovery time. You will hear her drop. That is not the recovery. She needs a bit more pushing.
I increase the speed as my RPE is comfortable. The HRM registers in the 170s and not pushing further. I still feel fine and it’s been about 20 mins. I know I said I wouldn’t run and would take it easy. But I was feeling ok. So I reduce the incline to 0 and crank up the speed. This is the point where the recording cuts out as you can just hear my feet pounding and not my heart. Little by little I increase the speed until we hit 188. She then drops to 182 and keeps climbing and dropping between the numbers. I decide to push a bit more. We haven’t hit 190 in 5 years to that was the goal. Pushing into a sprint, it takes her about a min to realise what’s going on. I’m watching the rate on the screen 186, 189, 192.
I jump off, heartbeat pounding as fast as I’ve ever heard her. I catch my breath for a few seconds and realise I should be screen recording my ecg. She’s slowed down a bit by this point but you can see she really seems to like beating in the 140s. 😂
This time I felt fine. No dizziness. A bit quicker recovery from the 180s - 190s. 🥰

I’d love to hear if you have any headcanons around rome and his boys <3
Ouhh,,, I'm so normal about this family bro I swear,,,
I tend to flip-flop between making Rome their father or their grandfather. I usually go with the father route, but I do have AUs and storylines where he's their Nonno :)
(In addition to the point above, a plus-side of Rome being their dad is Romano gets to call him "Babbo". I also like calling him "Babbo Roma")
Romano looks the most like Rome. It's more apparent when you compare him to Rome's younger self when he didn't have as much muscle or stubble. I like to think they have a bust of his head in their shared apartment and, upon first glance, other nations often mistake it for a statue of Romano.
I mentioned this in a previous post but Romano and Rome share the same name. For the sake of simplicity, however, people usually call him Romulus.
Rome is 165 cm, Romano is also 165 cm, Feliciano is 170 cm, and Seborga is 178 cm. Romulus is very impressed with Sebby's height, and always compliments him on it. One of his favorite compliments is telling him he would make a great centurion with the right training (at which point the twins have to cut in and say no their baby brother will NOT be a soldier of any kind, thank you)
Rome is definitely very protective over his boys, which I'm sure is something their partners enjoy dealing with. I have fun imagining what his reaction would be to various partners/ships.
In the case of GerIta/ItaGer, I wouldn't be surprised if Romulus demanded Feliciano break up with Ludwig as soon as he found out he was German (as if Feliciano would listen) kdhfkj
I talked about this headcanon on my main blog (in Italian, though), but I'll bring it up here too. Rome usually spoke to his boys in some form of Latin, but he began learning Italian when Seborga joined the family. The kid was probably around 3-4 years old when Rome first met him and obviously didn't speak a lick of Latin.
Now onto some more serious stuff:
Rome lived past 476 AD. The last time Romano and Feliciano saw him was around 546, when Romulus sent them out of the city at the tail-end of a devastating siege on Rome during the Gothic Wars. They were separated to increase the chance of one child surviving- one heading north and the other heading south to their respective territories. Whether he survived past that is unclear to many nations. Some claim they spotted him in various places throughout Europe, a husk of the man he once was. Others believe he lived in hiding in the Byzantine Empire. No one is certain about what happened to him, and his ghost has a difficult time remembering what happened after the Gothic Wars.
This is deserving of its own more analytical/detailed post, but here are my two cents on what their relationship/dynamic looks like (in my mind). Though Rome loved his boys deeply, and the brothers loved him in return, life was not always peachy. There were certainly a lot of expectations put on their shoulders from a very young age. Rome had spent his entire life building an empire and a legacy, something he wanted to live on through his descendants, namely Romano. The firstborn, the fighter, and the one who commanded attention easily. The one who looked and acted the most like Rome did in his own youth. Under the right guidance, he could be shaped into a leader. However, this meant the boy was often scrutinized heavily by those around him and judged more harshly than his twin. He wasn't respected as his own person and was merely seen as an extension of his father/grandfather. Feliciano, on the other hand, was on the "weaker" and "softer" side. Rome adored him and coddled him, treated him more gently than Romano, but he didn't really respect him, if that makes any sense? So Feliciano felt the need to compete and one-up his brother to prove his own worth, even if it caused the brothers to start fighting (physical altercations were not uncommon). Romulus didn't seem to notice these issues. How could he when he was often away from home? In his eyes, his family was doing just fine. They seemed like two happy kids whenever he was around, and any fight that broke out between the twins was often chalked up to "brothers will be brothers"/"boys will be boys". These familial issues went completely unchecked for most of the boys' lives, and it wasn't until more modern times that they started to reflect on their childhood and its impact. Not all was doom and gloom in their childhoods ofc, but there were certainly quite a few issues. Like I said, this probably needs its own post kjfdgk
The Most Tsurumaki Quote Ever discussing his approach to FLCL:
Tsurumaki: Yes, as a staff member, I think that's the only way we could have done it. I remember that Masahiko Otsuka, who directed some episodes, asked me, "What do you want to do with FLCL? How far should we take it?” Something like "Evangelion" is playing a straightforward game; they're throwing a blazing fastball right down the middle of the plate that no one can hit, and that's what "Evangelion" is, or what Anno was trying to do. But with FLCL I thought, "It's okay if the pitch is slow, but I want to throw the ball right into the corner. It has to be low and outside!" If you can throw a 170 km/h fastball, you can score a strikeout even if it's right down the middle, like Evangelion does. For me though with FLCL I wanted to change it up, just graze that low, outside spot. If I could do that, I would still win (laughs).
