3 weeks old and Baby Brain has taken over 🤯😭 4hrs a night sleep and trying to keep myself alive, the girls alive, 3 cats alive and well the house has gone all wrong!! I managed to flood the kitchen! How I forgot I had put the tap on I will never know but this is what they call baby brain and I now totally get it. The lack of sleep is mind blowing and it’s so true that nothing can prepare you for it but the baby brain is frightening!!! I am doing things and forgetting them straight away. The lack of sleep and trying to juggle feeding, expressing and life has taken its toll and something has to give and although it’s a little heartbreaking I have made the decision to stop breastfeeding the girls. It’s probably the hardest decision I have made so far but it’s best for us all. Every time I fed the girls I would have a feeling of dread and it would also make me feel extremely hormonal. I would also feel guilty as when I was on my own I could only feed one of the girls at a time and I would then worry the one that was fed last wasn’t getting enough food. Although it’s hard I know that it’s best for us all and in the long run it will benefit us as we will have more cuddles with Mumma and Daddy. As a new mum it’s difficult to know whether your doing what’s right and there is so much self doubt but mothers instincts is an amazing gift and it will always guide us to do what’s best for your family.
