  The sky looks like a battlefield, stained as red as the coats of Tenjiku, as red as the blood they’ve all spilled. It’s a vibrant shade of red that all spills from the sun sinking over the edge of the world. Izana stares at it – the death of another day. He’s not surprised when Ran finds him. After a moment, Izana turns to cast a casual glance over his shoulder towards Ran, a mystifying smile on his lips.

  If it had been directed at anyone else, Izana would know those words to be empty and faked. Ran is pretty and people get tripped up on that, caught in spider web smiles that are illusionary. Ran, and all of Tenjiku for that matter, should and do know that Izana would rip them apart like newly hatched chicks caught in a fox’s teeth. Merciless and cruel. He cants his head towards Ran a tiny bit more as the words hang in the air between them. A declaration that faces acceptance or rejection before the king.

  Ever since juvie Ran and Rindou have been there, from the S-62 to his fall and then to Tenjiku. One is not without the other in the large scale of the picture, though it is Ran that Izana has closer ties to. Though the king’s trust in others is critically fractured, Ran holds shards of it with him whether he knows it or not. ( And whether Izana consciously knows it or not. )

  Ran says those words because he means them, or he’d dare not say it to Izana of all people.

  Izana turns his back to the setting sun, shrouded in the fading light as he fully faces Ran. The truth of the matter is those words do give nutrients to a seed of relief in his chest. He won’t, of course, admit that. He won’t say it and he won’t show it. But it is there. Maybe Ran knows it and maybe he doesn’t. Izana chooses not to dwell on it.

   “ You’re one of my heavenly kings. I wouldn’t expect anything else.  “  Izana speaks, his voice composed and smooth as the words roll from his tongue with confidence fit for a king. It is a comment that carries expectations and warnings all wrapped into one simple phrase. But it is left as that as he steps away from his previous spot to draw closer towards where Ran stands. The cryptic smile remains lingering on his lips.  “  Shall we rejoin the others? Or is there something more?  “  His eyes however show he already suspects the answer as he watches Ran.

It's not that I need to know everything my friends are doing at all times in their own homes but, say, when a new friend decides they're going to strap themselves into their new pair of stilts they've never worn, inside their house, and "just stand up a little" and you think back to what you know about them, which is that they do aerial performances and are generally bendy and know more about their balance than you do, it would be helpful, in that situation, to know that your new friend ate a weed gummy two hours before you walked in and should absolutely be talked down from this. I found out an hour afterwards when the gummy fully hit them that they had taken one at all and I would have had ZERO qualms putting myself between them and brand new fucking stilts with that knowledge and I retroactively have another slow heart attack every time I think back to the various pieces of furniture they were primed to encounter with their face had they fallen. I would've tried to catch them and then their little papillon that barked at me for 45 minutes straight would have eaten me alive from the ankle up for touching her human.

This week I'll be raving about Lesser Evil

I love Atsumu and Sakusa, and them together feels like a perfect pairing

The way you characterised both of them was also amazing, Atsumu's a little shit as usual

Also the whole thing of Sakusa becoming upset when he sees the bruises on the readers face is so ironic to me - like "I'm the only one who is allowed to hurt you"

The fact that the two of them met the reader in the first place is a whole thing in and of itself, but for now I'll dive into the fact that she went to visit them in prison even after being advised against it

Like I understand the whole closure aspect of the visit, but that's kind of a Murphy's Law situation, anything that can go wrong will go wrong, so why risk visiting either one of them??

I also love to think about Sakusa being upset that she chose to visit Atsumu instead of him

The punishment gives me goosebumps though, and not in the fun way

Again, love and kisses for your writing, I will scream this from the mountain tops until the day I die

as much as i will admit that my reader inserts tend to make some shall we say questionable choices, closure (and one final 'fuck you') is a powerful thing. it's absolutely testing fate, but at the same time, who goes to a prison thinking 'ah yes, this is the perfect scenario for a prison break' gfdhjvhbfhdjk. she's not to know that reader's get no rights here lmao

also atsumu has a fucking field day teasing sakusa over the reader picking him. he's her favourite

you know a show is Good when it leaves me so emotionally drained i have no strenght to go back and make gifs of it. this episode was soooo well done and well acted but i will need some time before i can watch it again. just... apo as porsche is so good i am in so much pain for him. I know this isn't a light and fun show by any means (although it still manages to have its moments of comedy and it does them well) but oof there's so many layers and if you don't stop at the first there's so much darkness and it takes a toll. it's on me for not being used to watching shows like this so i end up drained of all energy and i have so many things i want to gif but it's so hard for me to watch and not imagine the characters' inner thoughts and feelings and thinking about how porsche must be feeling was so distressing. i used the word haunting in my tags a couple of posts ago and yeah, there's just so much going on under the surface and i feel like different people will read this in different ways but to me it was just very hard to watch (in a good way! meaning everyone did an excellent job!)
