‘Walks in Grandad’s Garden’
Sadly I was only three when my beloved Grandad passed away suddenly. I don't remember him but I do remember the heavenly smells of his garden...

Walks in my Grandad’s Garden...
The flowers and their perfume are how I remember him.
"Nothing revives the past so completely as a smell that was once associated with it."
~ Vladimir Nabokov
“If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale. And then, when one wanted it, the bottle could be uncorked, and it would be like living the moment all over again.”
~ Daphne du Maurier

Walks in Grandad's garden... my favourite smells❣️
I was only three when my beloved Grandad ~ my Mum's Dad "Jack" ~ passed away and I sadly don't remember him... but when I close my eyes and smell these particular flowers, I am suddenly transported back into his precious garden... My favourite floral scents were from his freesias and double stock flowers which were heavenly...
Photo: Tom boy mini me, sitting on my Grandad Jack's knee at three! Never happy to be still for 5 minutes, I was no doubt squirming for the duration. We were on holidays in 1961 at lovely seaside Sandgate in Queensland with my beautiful Mum, Margaret and her brother John in the background. Happy days!
