BETTIE PAGE WEARING PANTS -- NOW, THERE'S A SHOCKER.
PIC INFO: Spotlight on a pin-up of the late, great Bettie Page (1923-2008), from the pages of "Good Girl Art Quarterly" Vol. 1 #8, an independent comic-book dedicated to vintage Golden Age "Good Girl Art" comics of the 1940's. Published by AmeriComics.
This one's pretty kool, and different, as it's not as revealing as some of her other more well known pin-up work. Was the photographer going for an "Arabian Nights" feel with those pants (and yellow sash), I wonder? Or am I just using my own imagination about the whole thing?

In 1983, AC Comics leased from the Charlton Comics rightsholders the right to do their own Blue Beetle and superhero comics. This Blue Beetle revival only really lasted an issue in Americomics, penned by Ric Levins.
AC Comics only made a single special, the first time the Charlton Heroes ever met up all together. After this, however, DC bought the rights to the non-creator owned Charlton heroes, and they’ve been a part of DC Comics ever since, just like previous acquisitions like the Fawcett and Quality Publishing heroes. The fact AC Comics briefly revived them in the early 80s is seldom mentioned.

Question list round 2, hopefully covering more ground this time.
Mysterious Suspense
Vic's first book! It is bad. Not really in a fun way, it's just a slog.
There's so much dialogue in every panel and 90% of it is Ditko telling the reader how cool Objectivism is.
Vic using the gas to pretend to be two people during a fight is neat, at least.
Charlton Bullseye vol. 1 #5
This is actually a fanzine that had Charlton Comics' approval, which rules.
The Shadow reference spotted! I don't know if Ditko was originally directly inspired by the Shadow, but Vic's brutal streak and tendency to monologue about morality make that seem pretty plausible.
The hamfisted commentary is a loving pastiche, which makes it a lot less frustrating to read.
Big fan of the Question logo in this.
Charlton Bullseye vol. 2 #1
Blue Beetle/Question teamup time!
They're just weird little guys, no Ditko baggage involved. It's cute.
Americomics Special 1
DC bought out the Charlton characters while this was being written, so it never goes anywhere, but it's charming. This could have been a fun team.
I can't help but wonder what would've happened if the Sentinels of Justice had been a more established team.
Crisis on Infinite Earths #6
Finally, DC!
Vic stands next to Ted for like 3 panels. It's something.
CoIE #7
The DC Wiki says that Vic's in this somewhere, but I can't find him? The Earth-4 panels have Beetle, Peacemaker, and Nightshade, but I'm not seeing Vic.
Very funny that the world representatives are awe-inspiring powerhouses and also Blue Beetle.

Sybil Danning is Black Diamond. A film was planned, but unfortunately never made. Americomics did produce a (single issue?) comic however.

AleksandarGeorgiev/Getty PhotosAmazon's Venture Kuiper has received the FCC's approval for its community of three,236 satellites regardless of claims by SpaceX it could introduce collision dangers with the Starlink constellation. The FCC initially authorised Amazon's Kuiper satellite tv for pc plans in 2020 however has been contemplating varied objections raised by SpaceX, Viasat and others over particles and collision dangers with different satellite tv for pc constellations. However the FCC got here down on Amazon's aspect after approving its particles mitigation plan. Different points raised embody Amazon's post-mission disposal reliability, completion of satellite tv for pc design, and orbital separation. "Our motion will permit Kuiper to start deployment of its constellation so as to convey high-speed broadband connectivity to prospects all over the world," the FCC stated in its resolution.SpaceX in November raised considerations about Amazon's plan for disposing of satellites after they've expired and the adequacy of the quantity of propellent Kuiper has budgeted for satellite tv for pc maneuvers to keep away from collisions and disposal. SpaceX additionally needed the FCC to restrict Amazon's authorization to solely a few of its beforehand authorised Kuiper constellation. SpaceX needed the FCC to restrict Kuiper satellites to 578 -- the precise variety of satellites Amazon needed to have in low Earth orbit earlier than launching the service. SpaceX additionally needed Amazon to defer deploying the rest of the constellation. "SpaceX argues that the Fee ought to restrict Kuiper to deploy solely 578 satellites in its 630 kilometer orbital shell, and defer motion concerning the rest of the constellation. SpaceX argues that granting this tranche would handle Kuiper's means to coexist with different techniques in and round its 590 kilometer and 610 kilometer shells, and permit for "continued monitoring" of deployment," the FCC notes.  The FCC's approval leaves nothing standing in entrance Amazon to launch its non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite tv for pc constellation - besides expertise and a profitable rocket launch. In October, Amazon revealed it could launch its first satellites on a Vulcan Centaur rocket in early 2023, beginning with two prototype satellites, but it surely's already years behind SpaceX's Starlink. Amazon initially deliberate to launch the 2 prototypes on ABL Area Techniques' RS1 rocket. The FCC states it discovered "Kuiper's orbital particles mitigation plan to be sufficiently developed to assist deployment of its NGSO satellite tv for pc system, and that granting Kuiper's request, topic to the necessities and situations specified herein, will serve the general public curiosity."Individually, in December the FCC partially authorised SpaceX's proposal to launch 7,500 of its second-generation (Gen2) Starlink satellites to function at altitudes of 525, 530, and 535 kilometers. The FCC famous it solely granted SpaceX authority to launch 7,500 satellites to "handle considerations about orbital particles and house security". The FCC famous that its motion barely reduces SpaceX's whole rely. SpaceX's software drew objections from SES Americom and O3b, Viasat, NASA and Nationwide Science Basis, and Amazon's Kuiper.   #Amazons #Kuiper #satellite tv for pc #broadband #takes #massive #step #SpaceX #objections
