i enjoy how this art style is soooo messy that you honestly cant tell the characters apart just by their faces. and its not that their faces all look the same, its that the art is so loosely defined that what is supposed to be a face sometimes barely looks like one at all. instead, you HAVE to use context or their accessories as defining characteristics.

snake's headband, otacon's glasses, ocelot's mustache. liquid is the most basic-looking/non-accessorized so you can normally tell its him by the pompous dialogue LOL

for the women its mostly the silhouette of their hair that tells them apart.
