Peggy Walton, dressed like a car for her role as Miss Fiat, stretches out on the hood of the car that inspired her costume during preview of the International Auto Show. The car, a Fiat 124 Spider, is being introduced here for the first time. The show opens March 30th, 1968

The first major automobile show held in the United States opened at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 3, 1900. Admission fifty cents. It ran for a week and attracted over 40,000 attendees. The most popular automobiles were electrics, followed by steamers, and lastly, gasoline-powered vehicles, which were considered to be noisy, dirty, and unreliable.
