I’ve noticed you’ve had a different style all together previously, what inspires your current art? Is there any other fandoms you’d like to do fanart for in the future

Hmm my biggest inspiration currently is impressionist and post impressionist paintars as well as artists like robert valley, carter goodrich, stan prokopenko and my all time inspiration since i could hold a book in my hands : BARCSAY JENŐ 🙏

And in regards to fandoms, no, if i set out to pursue something in particular i always jinx it and lose interest. It is more fun to find something and become enamoured and completely absorbed by a piece of media. No fun in spoiling a surprise

The issue with Jethro is that I imagined this as a fanciful scene, whimsical in its impossibility. Then I remembered that, as a huddle of sticks and a turnip, Jethro weighs bugger all and so this is all entirely possible.

Dislikes? when it gets too quiet, having to be still, small spaces, fairytales, romances, when people say please after you've already agreed to do something for them

BACKSTORY

Ryliee doesn't like to talk about the first seven years of her life. That part of her is a ghost she likes to keep locked away. A child with matted hair, the television as her babysitter, while her mother took naps that spanned whole days sometimes. She wasn't beaten or starved, at least never on purpose, though there were long nap days where her only source of food was whatever she could reach on her tiptoes from the fridge and pantry. She was five when she started kindergarten and it took only a week and the eyes of a teacher who had seen the signs before for social services to be called. It was foster care after that, 6 homes in two years and she started to get used to it. She felt formless, detached, cautiously numb to every new face around her, prepared to always say goodbye.

It was like a fairytale when the Goodrich family entered her life. They had a son already, a five year old named Carter, but they fell in love with Ryliee and knew she was meant to have a place in their family. And she did. A place with home cooked meals every night, with people who tucked her in and gave her a goodnight kiss on the forehead, who read her stories, asked her how she liked her eggs and when she didn't know the answer did a buffet of eggs cooked in every fashion so she could find her favorite. The Goodrich family adopted her, and with their love came a sense of self, the development of facets of her that had been in hibernation previously.

She loves her family vehemently, their family grew with other siblings, all unique and bright and happy. So radiantly happy. Logically she knew she had every reason to be just like them, a beam of joy, but something about the perfection of their lives, the happily ever after, left her aching and uneasy. Her brother Carter was the only one who really seemed to understand that feeling, that feeling when you appreciate a lovely piece of clothing but you know it's not the right fit for you. Ryliee hated fairytales. She hated how many of them ended with the main character leaving behind adventures and other worlds to go home to domestic family life, or to marry a man in a castle. She wanted adventure. She wanted the snap crackle pop of living.

Carter didn't even have to tell her that he was planning a move to Dayton, the famed city where their parents had met. She knew instinctively that he'd gravitate towards the chaos, and that she would go with him, because she wanted it too. A year in and she's thriving off the vices, off being a voyeur to other people's demons and a curious investigator of her own. Belle could have the world. Ariel could have had the ocean. Dorothy could have stayed in Oz, Alice in Wonderland. Unlike them, she would not turn her back on the call of adventure and settle for some normal, boring happily ever after.

CONNECTIONS

Operator Deja Vu - Your character gets into emergency trouble a lot. Sometimes they call 911 themselves, sometimes they get 911 called on them in the midst of their chaos. And as fate has it, Ryliee gets a lot of the calls, to the point that you two are on a first name basis and chatting casually in between her warning not to take the sharp thing out of your leg, or not to play chicken in traffic. You're an annoyance but also an amusement to her and sometimes she fights the urge to egg you on into the next outlandish potentially tragic mess.

Billboard Bros - You met one night both off your minds on your vices of choice, both with the brilliant idea to spraypaint lewd art on a billboard behind the grocery store. It's turned into an every Friday night thing. You meet on that billboard, contemplating the height and your mortality, contemplating every dark or morally corrupt thoughts you've ever had and confessing them to each other. And then you shimmy down to the ground, no names, no other communication as of now.

Grocery Cart racers - You like to get fucked up and meet in the grocery parking lot, run with carts and then push up onto them and race to see who crashes into the return rack first. You have makeshift raves with light up toys like the parking lot is your personal playground. You don't want to call it friendship, you don't want to cling too much to the carefree easy chaotic fun you have together. Cause you both believe when you look at anything important too spot on that's where it all starts to go bad.
