𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵. That said, when speaking of his paramour with the mention of Mystra, it is not a slight. After all, Mystra, the goddess, wasn't just his lover; she, as she'll remain, controls the Weave.
As a scholar of magic for all his life, Gale is thoroughly enamored with it. He's always had the Weave, casting spells and enchantments for as far as his long memory goes, and there's no power on earth that can pale that devotion. When Gale says Mystra's name, in love, it is never with yearning. When he tells his lover that he forgets his goddess when he stands beside them, he means quite literally that he foregoes his faith. He doesn't mention her like a quality benchmark with which they've somehow surpassed, but to punctuate how wholly he has fallen for them. With a new, honest love, he is turned entirely from Mystra. In fact, so utterly bewitched, he's like a born again man. He isn't besotted by his goddess, held stalwart in her sway and seemingly, abundantly, and frustratingly stubborn. After that disastrous relationship, I promise you, Gale spares not a single thought toward her. She might have control of the Weave, and as such, stands still his only patron deity, but his new, doting lover? They become something of a new religion for him; he is most devoted, taken by, and so loyal to them.
He does not see Mystra. Do not assume he still feels for her.
He's a man of one love, and they will have all of him.

Both Sam and Dean keep trying to make sure the other knows they are there for him. Like god i know both have issues with emotional intimacy and yeah they don't talk and share much in later seasonsb but i can't get over how there's this soft yet serious moments where Dean needs to make sure Sam is ok with whatever they are doing. Even when late season dean is flattened into the angry man™️ he often has a moment of honesty and gentleness with sam afterwards, trying to explain/apologize/make sure sam is fine, even when few words are said, even when he cannot make sam feel better. And sam always always tries to get through dean, always reading him the best and knowing how to drag him out of a dark pit. God i dont know why there's always some crowd enjoying this as one sided toxic abusive thing when really, as much as their life circumstances sucks they are still trying to hold on to each other and pass a gentle firm hand to one another man it kills me sometimes

soulless sam was at his best when he was still being written as a version of sam, to accentuate parts of him that normally get held back, and not as 'guess he's evil now'. soulless sam when he's reflecting sam's tendency to lose sight of everything else in pursuit of a goal. soulless sam when he's just kind of rude without thinking about it without his filter on. soulless sam when he's equal parts intent on keeping dean with him and also happy to lie to him and keep him shut out of the things he knows dean won't like so that dean won't leave. soulless sam when he equally recognizes that he is a better hunter now, and also that he probably can't continue to exist without his soul. (you know. before they went along with making him just kind of evil.)
...soulless sam when he's begging for literally anyone to acknowledge his autonomy in this situation and not force him to take his soul back without knowing how much it could damage him and being ignored.

i’m sure this has been mentioned but we need to take a second to appreciate the character growth dean has from season 1 to 4. he used to be the attacker, the shoot first ask questions later, don’t question orders and follow dads lead kind of guy. he was raised that way, raised a soldier. but his interactions with early, god’s soldier cas really shows that he grew out of that mindset. its almost like a mirror of who dean used to be before he realized that john actually wasn’t a perfect man and fucked up a lot. him saying that you always have a choice??? think he learned that the hard way when he disobeyed his dad by saving sam and selling his soul. i think dean regaining control over his own free will because of his dedication to protecting sam, and it being made really fucking clear through cas, is going to be the end of me

It makes me INSANE how every time they talk about dean dying from any natural cause it's always about his heart. It nearly killed him in faith. It nearly killed him that time he was an old man. People always talk about how he has to take care of of his heart. Decrease his cholesterol. Telekinetic monsters always seem to grab him by the chest and it makes him cluch his fist to his sternum like it's his heart they are hurting. "He should have taken better care of that ticker". It's always his heart.

Ben Edlund has a Twitter account and someone tagged him in a tweet about 5.10 "Abandon All Hope" as one of the most emotional episodes of SPN and he replied to it and expressed how sad it made him while he wrote it.
Now that we know he responds...who's going to be the one to ask him what the FUCK he was doing when he was writing Dean and Cas interactions or like any scene where Dean is interacting with another dude. Who's gonna take one for the team.
