The “Beaux Art” architectural style of the building itself is a unique and gorgeous sight to behold. The ceilings are covered in green opaline glass that gives the entire aquarium an ethereal atmosphere.
Belle Isle Aquarium features marine life from across the country and world.

2 things about the Gordie Howe International Bridge:
-As it will connect Windsor’s Great Lakes Waterfront Trail to the Iron Belle Trail, it was announced today that it will join the Trans Canada Trail and become the first international bridge border crossing within the 28,000 km trail network.
-There's a survey available until April 5 regarding the operation of its multi-use path. There's also a couple of public meetings about it in March.

River Otter by Ashleigh Mowers The Great Lakes Echo has an excellent feature on the return of river otters to the Detroit River that says (in part): On the cool morning of April 25, doctoral student Eric Ste Marie from the University of Windsor’s department of integrative biology went out for a walk with his partner along the Detroit River prior to an anticipated long day in his lab. “Rum Runners Take to Air in Dash Over Border,” Toronto Star. May 1, 1930. Page 3. ---- MAD RUSH TO ‘CLEAN UP’ BEFORE NEW CLEARANCE LAW COMES INTO EFFECT ---- Liquor laden aeroplanes are clearing almost hourly from the Walkerville airport, near Windsor, to points in the United States, in a mad rush by the liquor smugglers to ‘clean up’ before the government order, prohibiting legal clearance, goes into effect, probably within a month’s time. Shipments at the docks have been brought almost to a standstill by the tightening up of the American patrol on the Detroit river, hence the ‘wet boys’ have ‘taken to the air.’ The above pictures were taken after police protection had been given the cameraman. The photographer had been warned by airport officials they would not be responsible for whatever action the rum runners took it for an attempt was made to take photographs. Pilots hiked for cover and actual loading stopped just as soon as the camera appeared. TOP shows two of the planes being loaded with a customs man standing watch. BOTTOM shows two truck loads of liquor.
