Charity Drive: Donate to the Kaon City Medics, get a doodle from me!

Hello all!

So a few weeks back I reached out to @combaticon and asked for permission to do this, and she gave me the OK, so here I am.

Basically, I'm really passionate about the Kaon City Medics' work. They do a lot of harm reduction work in their community and it's a real breath of fresh air compared to the hand-wringing I tended to see in school regarding harm reduction. (you've probably seen this post asking for funds so they can continue doing their work.)

So basically here's what I want to do now that I have time and energy. If you donate to Swin's Ko-Fi, and send me proof that you donated at least 2 Ko-Fis/6 USD to his Ko-Fi, I will give you a silly little doodle. You can send me proof by dropping a screenshot proving the transaction into my DMs. They should be open to everyone. You can censor out/redact any info you need to as long as it’s obvious you sent the money to her.

These doodles can't be NSFW or contain any hateful imagery. But I will draw your blorbo from [insert pretty much any fandom here] as an autism creature, or doing the "KILL" image where the person is holding the Monster energy, or whatever silly little meme you want me to do.

hello! another little question on tarot if i may.

when i read more casually my readings were usually very relaxed and with simple meanings, accurate with by the book meanings but not super specific. as i become more ambitious i became super motivated to learn all the nuance i possibly can, its an interesting journey but.. doesnt seem to work in practice. i always knew it but everyone and their mama will always have interpretations that can seem stupid to others, even among experts in the field. question is how do you deal with that?

Im seeing that as my study deepens and Im working with Apollo to achieve that, some interpratations that are organically coming up and rooting themselves in my practice can seem just straight up weird to some people. how do i deal with that? have you experienced that? everyone seems so Agressive about their interpretations being the proper ones.

You must engage in the most batshit methods of reading tarot. You must design your own systems of reading with all the glee of a young boy throwing rocks off an overpass. You must read tarot so bizarrely that it makes you feel like a mad scientist.

Go down in that ocean and dredge up the most horrifying bulbous-eyed god-defying pale abomination you can find. Map out new depths of horror. Make friends with the purely absurd. Perform atrocities with tarot and hang each one around your neck like the badge of honor it is. Crack tarot's spine and drink from the fluid that drips out. Become a monster, do you hear me?

And when they smirk at you because they think they know better words to tape to the Knight of Swords, you will open your mouth and say the most dumbfounding shit that person has ever heard and blast them with a ray of psychic damage so severe it will make them question if they should keep reading tarot lest they be associated with someone like you.

"Well akshually, knight cards do the queen's bidding, so in this case-"

"Haha, yeah! Once for a couple of months I worked exclusively with a system where the four knights were the rulers of the deck. I divided up the major arcana cards between the knights as their servants, but since there's one card left over, I incorporated a system where one of the four knights was the 'ruler' of that reading. Then I laid out all four knights as signifiers and dealt the entire deck between all four knights and the reading was based on which omens were collected under the ruling knight."

"Haha, yeah! Once for like two weeks I assigned all the court cards to be my favorite anime blorbos and I read from a restricted deck that only used court cards and major arcana. I'd draw one major arcana card to be the battlefield setting and then two court cards. To resolve the reading I wrote fanfiction about the characters fighting and whichever character won would decide the outcome of the question. It's actually how I got started using creative writing as a form of exploratory divination!"

"Haha, yeah! One weekend I decided to find out what would happen if I read in such a way that sword cards could 'kill' other cards in the deck, and the Knight of Pentacles ended up getting 'killed' like three times that weekend and ever since then it's always coming up in readings about sadness and depression, isn't that weird?"

"Haha, yeah! Well today I'm reading with a system where I meditate until a recurring character from my dreams appears and asks me to possess one of my tarot cards, and today No-Eyes the Whale asked to possess that knight card, so that's why I'm not using your meanings."

Do they challenge you? They cannot challenge you. Are you not shuffling right? Are you getting scolded for not fOcUsInG enough when you shuffle? Look them in the eye and say something so deranged they will think about it for the rest of their life.

"Haha, yeah! I remember the last time I used those meanings, it was so fun. I got drunk, shuffled my tarot deck, and laid out piles of three cards around my house, sight-unseen. For the next three days I kept running into these little three-card readings hidden everywhere, but funnily enough, they all ended up being past-present-future readings of the ten second timespan when I picked up the cards. I even predicted getting the phone call about losing my health insurance!"

"Haha, yeah! I actually decided to re-assign every single card to my custom twelve element system, so I don't see the same divisions between the suits as you do. Look, this card is the element pearl! Pearls are an element, I decided a couple of months ago. It's a really long story but it helps explain what happened to No-Eyes."

"Haha, yeah! I don't use intuition to choose cards out of a lineup. I turn them all face up and select all the cards that I think are the most likely ones to show up in the reading. Then, I go through the entire deck and match every single card with it's polar opposite. Then, I put the deck face-down and flip cards over. If I flip over a sword or a wand card, I exchange my chosen card with its opposite, but if it's a major arcana card I keep both my chosen card and its opposite."

"Haha, yeah! I don't shuffle. Like, at all. Once I'm done with the reading I put cards on the bottom of the deck and then just draw new cards from the top of the deck."

"Haha, yeah! I mixed all my decks together and sorted the superdeck into piles of every elementally aligned card. In order to resolve questions I have a yu-gi-oh duel with myself."

Eat the tarot. Consume it whole and raw. Tear away at it until you fear there is nothing left, and then go back for more. Each time you eat its heart, it will become refined before your eyes. Assist the tarot in shedding its decrepit cloak of meaning. Rescue it by killing it. Rend tarot in your hands like a child ripping at crafting clay.

And if you destroy it well enough, and for long enough, it will be reborn in your hands as it was meant to be: glimmering and pure, whole and new, ineffable and eternal, your dearest friend,

Day and Night Rikuo is in my "Top Blorbos from different fandoms" because well.. for day Rikuo he tries his best to be a nice person which is something i respect :] And he's just so. scrunkly. I love it, i also love how polite he is compared to his night form and speaking of Night Rikuo, he's a chill and nonchalant and also sassy, there's just something intriguing about nonchalant, sassy men... (Cough, Kaeya) I also adore his design like?? Peak, IT'S SO AWESOME !! I hate drawing his hair tho

Yura my beloved, her design is simple yet appealing and also, SHE'S BADASS!! I LOVE BADASS WOMEN!! She's also a dumbass at times (Shes just like me fr) I also love her personality and how caring she is, best girl best girl :]] Also her shikigamis are awesome

legends favourite food is eggs on rice. a simple, easy to make meal! he only eats it A Singular Way as well oops - the way He cooks it. wild learns how to make it legends way [ its not all that hard of a feat to accomplish ] . he tries to change it up sometimes but legend absolutely notices every single time and refuses to eat it.

legend can cook but its mostly easy-to-make + overall cheap options that he can make in bulk / eat off of for awhile . goulash and curries. soups, breads, etc.

hes rly good w apples too tho, outside of those kinds of meals . his favourites are honeycrisp, and hes made or helped make wine , pies , jam , etc with the fruit in general :)

he has a damn sweet tooth and its impulsively indulged every time he passes a pastry shop or some shit. if there is an apple or cinnamon flavoured Anything he is going to try it [ not cinnamon roll, though ]

Let me put your anxieties at ease, this is my preferred way of getting these prompts, one shared pair and one i get to pick bc there’s blorbos brewing in my head

You get academic old man yaoi with Osman and Konstantin

1. What were their first impressions of one another?

I think they met for the first time when they were still starting out. Ihn has always respected Mhairi, and they’ve had a friendly rivalry going on. For many years he wasn’t romantically interested and everything was strictly professional/platonic. He would be lying if he said Mhairi wasn’t a looker tho

They met each other the first time in the academy d’Arcane when Osman was visiting a class and they sat next to each other, they were in their late 20’s. Osman thought Konstantin was intense and Konstantin thought Osman was too loud.

2 .What was their first date like? If they haven’t been on a date yet, how would it go? 

They were old and in a situation of a century ago agreeing to go on a date if they were single still and welp, widowed and tragically broken up with is one way to get there. So they picked a bar, went for drinks and then things might’ve gotten spicy

It was a study date in a cafe which also was the unofficial gathering place of all the city’s cats (the basis for Nia Vasileos in Istanbul so). They bonded over love of coffee, pastries and magic

3. It’s late at night and your characters want food, what do they order/find in the fridge? 

I bet Mhairi has all kinds of fancy stuff like fresh exotic fruits, nuts and the like, i get more ingredient house vibes from her than snack house, and also they’re both loaded so minimal cooking is done. She could also just call up some food. Ihn would rummage through the cabinets and curse not having any snacks handy so almonds it is, or call up some food.

Konstantin is a pretty picky eater, Osman not so much. Konstantin is also the type of guy to prepare meals so if Osman is hungry, one day’s meal might go missing. But they also keep a lot fruits in the house to satisfy most hunger pangs, and also bread

4. What’s a typical Sunday like for them? 

Ihn’s long retired so he does fuck all, naps thruout the day, reads, watches the news etc., grandpa activities Mhairi is welcome to join. He also likes following Mhairi around when she’s doing her thing, sorting out her stuff. Sunday is a lazy day

They’re both insanely busy, Osman serves the palace and the crescent university, and has his own pet projects, so Sunday’s for him is working on his own things like painting and drawing. Konstantin needs to check in on the academy every day but on Sundays he’s like “if something is not on fire right it can wait a day, and if something is on fire you have a building full of mages, figure something out”. So he’s at home chilling with Osman, makes them both afternoon coffee and reads in the same room Osman is painting in.

5. What’s their love language like? Are they compatible with one another? 

Quality time, acts of service for Ihn, third would be physical touch, he knows how the nedians get with touch.

Osman is loud and touchy, Konstantin is more reserved but he also likes physical affection, just somewhere no one can see. Quality time together too, what’s better than two academics having dinner

6. Do they have any pet names/nicknames for eachother? 

“Old [insert thing here]” but like, in a loving way

My beloved, love, etc in their native tongues, (haven’t come up with the regions they’re from but Konstantin is greek-ish and Osman would be arabic)

7. What do they argue about? 

I think their arguments have mostly been about how to handle something

Their most common argument is how the other doesn’t make enough time for the other

8. Who does what chores, and why? 

Hoooousekeeping

Konstantin cooks more, both clean up after each other, Osman handles fixing things and buying necessities

9. What’s the most difficult thing they’ve been through together? 

Ihn being widowed, losing his son and daughter-in-law, losing his granddaughter in a very short span of time. Mhairi’s dealings with Xiulan and the catastrophic end to that, they were always each other’s shoulder to cry on.

10. How do they make up after a fight? 

Talk it through once calmed down, work together for a solution to whatever they were fighting about, kiss and make up

Osman writes an apology monologue worthy of awards and Konstantin will get Osman his favorite baklava

11. Who causes the most arguments? 

I think pretty equally, both can get really stubborn

Osman can be a little inconsiderate, but not maliciously, he’s just gets so excited about stuff he might forget to consult Konstantin

12. What would they say each other’s worst quality is? 

The other being stubborn, stuck in their way, Ihn has a bad habit of not taking things seriously until it blows up on his face, Ihn thinks Mhairi miiiight take a little too much joy out of putting people down but hey, captains gotta captain

Osman has his head in the clouds, and sometimes forgets to focus on things that matter more. Konstantin is 

13. What would they say each other’s best quality is? 

Ihn’s always loved Mhairi’s wit, and ambition

Osman is endlessly curious and creative. Konstantin is extremely loyal and intelligent (well they both are)

14. How would they describe one another if asked? 

It would be really hard to get Ihn to describe Mhairi in a genuine manner, but under all those layers of sarcasm, he thinks really highly of them, Mhairi is intelligent in both knowledge and socially, ambitious, ready to do everything to get what she wants, looks out for those who really matter to her. They’ve known each other for so long 

They both would say the other is the smartest man in Nia Vasileos. A big “no you” “no u” type of argument would ensue

15. What names are they saved as on each other’s phone? 

Ihn has Mhairi marked down as “ball and chain” ironically, he switches it sometimes to other weapons/guns

No phones, but both would refer to the other by their name

16. What would they consider quality time? 

Good food, good drinks, great backdrop, reminiscing about all their greatest heists.

17. Who decides which movies to watch? 

They insult each other into submission: “Oh you wanna watch *war movie*? what are you 900 years old?” / “very rich coming from the guy who wants to watch troy, you just wanna see 200 bare chested men”

They take turn on deciding which theater show to go see, their tastes are very similar

18. How are they like on a road trip together? 

Whenever they take an interplanetary trip, Ihn insists on being the pilot, that’s his bread and butter. Mhairi arranges the places they’ll be staying at

Long carriage/boat rides would be mostly spent napping and reading by them both

19. It’s raining, did either of your OCs bring an umbrella? If so, who, and do they share it? 

Mhairi has a large coat, she could hoist up in case of sudden rain. They both come prepared for the weather though most of the time, just one thing less to worry about, and you don’t get to rule a space pirate empire without knowing how to prepare.

Konstantin can just move the rain away from them, a trick Osman is trying to learn

20. What are they like when sharing a bed?

akjsdnakjsk okay see you're...supposed to do that so you're hand won't be too stiff when you actually get down to the actual drawing but I forgot a lot 〒▽〒 bc I'm kinda impatience and scared if I do warm up I forgot what I was gonna draw kasdnadkj

I just go straight to drawing rough sketch for whatever idea it was and that end up being the warm-up. Bc it's the first draft so it usually gonna be kinda eh anyway

(OH yeah art tip : don't get too attached on first drafts. you'll always got better ideas later on so it's fine if those kinda suck. It doesn't reflect anything on your skill as an artist, it's just how it be)

Usually got better idea or more exciting angles or poses mid drawing the sketches so I scrap that off as warm up and then go make the other alternative ....or if i dont hav any concrete idea yet, I usually draw 3/4 facing left doodle of levi or 31 or whichever blorbo are currently occupying the brain lmao

hi! sorry if you don't know the answer, you're an active spardacest artist so i thought you might know. is there any specific reason many artists (especially asian i think) draw vergil with a pussy? not dante, not nero, but vergil

Hello! Honestly, I don't know how to answer this question besides... the vibes I guess lol? I'm very active in several spardacest discord communities and have been since the start of 2021, and I can tell you that as far as people hc'ing them to have a pussy or hybrid genitals, the overall trend seems to be "if one of them has it, then they all do" - with a slight focus on whichever boy is that person's favorite. I think there's just a very strong influx of people specifically drawing Vergil with it, whereas you'll find most of the Dante/Nero pussy content in writing and general speculation/scenario playing in discord servers. As to why people want it at all - honestly, I think it's just that dmc as a whole tends to resonate a lot with many non-cis people who like to equate the "demon" thing as almost an allegory to themselves. I know dmc was THE fandom that helped me get over my own bottom dysphoria (and now I actively prefer when at least one of the characters has a pussy when I couldn't stand it at all before lol), mostly because before it felt like there was a black and white choice between - either full on escapism (everyone has a dick, therefore I don't have to think about my own feelings about my own genitals that bring me grief) or making the characters trans (which works great for some people who feel like they need the relatability/representation! but for me it just felt too close to home and reminded me of things I didn't want to think about in the safety of my fictional mindscape.), whereas with dmc a lot of the common attitude seems to be "who cares? They're demons, they can be trans if you want but they can also have a pussy just because, there doesn't have to be any deeper reason for it" and that attitude really helped me, because the possibility to have it without any baggage helped me dip my toes in to the point it doesn't strike that chord of raw primal grief in me anymore - and in being ok with it in fiction, helped me be more ok with my lot in real life too. Now, of course that's just my reason, and not everyone has to have an in depth serious reason for liking it! some people just like it when their fictional blorbo has a pussy, lol. As for why Vergil specifically - like I said, it feels like in the end, it truly is a lot more evenly split than what the art you see might suggest, but Vergil does have a certain intrinsic something to him that just reads... womb-like, I guess, to me and many other people. That's not to say he necessarily reads as feminine - I think all the spardas have their own masculine/feminine attributes and they're all pretty neat for being, at the core of it, masculine men with softer edges that you would not usually see portrayed in popular media - more that I think there's something in his sharpness, in his specific brand of anger, (not to mention all the symbolism he coats himself in) that feels very pointedly afab, I guess if I had to intellectualise it. Also it's just very emotionally poignant to me specifically to imagine him being the birthing parent to Nero, because of all the emotional baggage and turmoil that would add to their relationship/imply about the situation.

Sorry if this doesn't exactly answer your question, and for all the waffling about gender! I just think the spardas are very neat and I love to think about their pussies (for all of them)

Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp Tag (super late edition)

Favourite counsellor and least favourite counsellor. Why?:

My favorite would have to be Dylan. I just love his awkward joking and backtracking when he realizes he maybe went a tad too far because it's just really fucking relatable. Also I want both his voice and gender.

My least favorite, even though I don't really dislike any of them, would probably be Jacob or Nick. Jacob because he's a kinda typical dude-bro early on and I just don't vibe with those characters often. Also he did get them all stuck there though he obviously didn't know there would be werewolves, still a dick move.

And Nick just because we don't get a lot of him and the bits we do get are mostly just angry werewolf.

Favourite chapter and least favourite chapter. Why?:

My favorite chapter would probably be 2 or 3 because the not only the gay kiss but also drama ensues. Plus I love just seeing all the counselors having fun and being the dorks they are.

Least favorite would probably be The Laura Chapter. I say this as a Laura lover, as well as a lauramax enjoyer, that chapter draaags. The first time through it's interesting and fun but the second you really start to feel the pacing slow and it stays that way for a while. And of course after that Laura takes over a majority of the game, which I don't hate, but I wish we could've had Ryan choose to go with Laura or not so maybe we could see more of Ryan and Dylan. Also Ryan and Kaitlyn because they barely had any scenes together. At this point I'm really hoping for The Quarry: Director's Cut.

Favourite ship (you can pick a maximum of 3)?:

Probably not at all a surprise but I love Dylan and Ryan (rylan or radioheads, whichever you prefer). The dynamic is delicious. Just two neurodivergent nerds, one more extroverted and one more introverted. It's a tale as old as time. Also they just find each other both so fascinating They are each other's blorbos. They both want to study each other in a lab. The best dynamic honestly.

Another one would be Blygbank because they have big cheerleader/nerd energy, which I love. Again one more introverted, another more extroverted. The sunshine (both of them) and the sunshine protector (both of them again). Their interactions in game are also really cute and wholesome and also of course I have to mention the first thing we see Abi do is draw Emma.

Honorable mention to Lauramax. Unhinged woman and babygirl malewife my beloved.

Biggest counsellor crush:

Dylan and Kaitlyn. Also Ryan and Laura. If you're making me pick though, I'd have to say Kaitlyn. Not only am I attracted to her badass energy, I've also had a crush on Brenda Song my whole life.

How would you survive The Quarry?:

Absolutely not. I am a fat queer person, the rules of the horror genre say I must die. But mostly because I'm bad at thinking on my feet at least 60% of the time so it'd really be a toss up on whether I'd survive at all. Maybe I'd just turn into a werewolf, who knows?

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

I'm mostly attracted to styles similar to my own (that's why I draw like I do! some people just do it better, but I'm getting there...) so this is a tough one... I'm a big stylization guy, but I do have a lot of respect for realism, especially like...those old romantic(?) paintings. I also hate doing sculpture SO MUCH but when other people do it it's sick.

I draw nothing but warm up sketches most of the time lol :')... but i tend to just doodle whichever character it is at the time that is my go-to until i get into the meat of it. gotta go for the default right-facing portrait doodle of x blorbo. (yes its goro right now)
