Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
Tagged by: @dieguzguz :'D
Tagging: Everyone! Even if all you did was make an oc in your head, it counts.
1. More confidence in my art
My first time vs my last time (a.k.a. my second time) drawing John as an example. Wanted to stay safe and make him look good but it limited my creativity so I took the leap of faith.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. My lighting and shading
Never went out of my way to make tints like this. Did this one before the John pic in #1
Tumblr media
3. TOES and Full body anatomy
I normally do art from the waist up or mid thigh. Hardly do reference sheets cause of that and struggle with shoes let alone toes. The hands came out smaller than intended but they don't look misproportioned either so it makes me happy.
Tumblr media
4. Anatomy all together and detailing
That 👏 h a i r 👏 those l i p s 👏 that w a i s t 👏 those stitches, the wrinkles, the size difference 😍
Anyways I can love this picture a dozen different ways but the hands and guns are still ass 😓 I'll take it lol
Tumblr media
5. My writing
Not so much on what I've written but just the fact that I've written. I was rusty back in 2016 but look at me now. I'm comfortable, confident and excited to write. Horrible motivation and inspiration lmfao 😂😂 but I'm heckin writing. Fuck you English teacher for making me think I sucked at writing.

The sun was high in the sky today in Hope County, and as Elisha thought this to herself she couldn’t help but burst into a fit of laughter. Her head swung around in circles as she tried to locate her companion, a hand over her partially exposed stomach as she continued cackling.
“Jess, Jess you’ll never guess what I just fucking thought of.” Elisha wheezed as her boots crunched dry leaves with each step she took towards the hooded woman leaning against a tree.
Jess looked up from the stick she was whittling, a ghost of a smile on the corner of her lips as she shook her head and her chest bounced with a silent laugh.
“What did you think of, Elee?” Jess raised an eyebrow, her eyes shifting and bouncing as she watched Elisha walk with her hands stretched out to the side, almost as if she were balancing on an invisible beam.
“I sound like a freaking weatherman,” The deputy exclaimed with another laugh as she straightened her posture and the invisible tie around her neck before she started to strut around the tree Jess was leaning against. “The sun is high in the sky today in Hope County with a high chance of explosions and gunfire. There is a weather warning in effect, so keep your kids inside and your rifles by your side, folks. Back to you, Jess.” Once Elisha’s speech was done, she found a spot against the same tree trunk as Jess to rest with her arms folded and her back against the bark. She crossed her legs at the ankles, a proud grin on her face as she adjusted her aviators and Jess giggles a few notes.
It wasn’t often that Jess let herself really relax enough to smile or laugh, but Elee couldn’t blame her either. After the shit the both of them had seen, she wasn’t all that surprised that Jess was as closed off as she was.
“Oh ho, what was that? Jess Black laughing?” Elisha pushed herself off the tree and slowly made her way in front of Jess, who was slouched over a bit as she tried to muffle her laughter.
“Shut up ‘fore I hurt you.” Her voice bounced up and down as she tried to talk through the chuckles, but she was terrible at hiding the smile on her face when she moved her hand to whack Elisha’s shoulder.
“I’ll tell you where I like it best.” Elisha grinned and noticed Jess’s eyes widened a little bit as her cheeks turned dark pink. Bingo. The entire afternoon Elisha had been trying to pull even the smallest reaction from Jess, and she finally got it. She could finally give it a rest if she felt so inclined.
“Elisha Abasi, I will have your head on a stick if you don’ knock it off!” Jess tried to sound threatening, but it melted away quite quickly when she continued to laugh even harder. This time she didn’t try to hide it when her hands went to her knees to try and hold herself up.
Warmth bloomed in Elisha’s chest at the sight of it. Jess deserved to be happy and blushing. She was so closed off sometimes Elisha felt that Jess missed out on making new friends and experiencing new things, but as long as she was happy, Elisha didn’t push her to do anything.
“Ah, I’m only joking. You make it too easy, y’know?” Elisha rested an elbow against the tree, just a few inches from where Jess’s head was now that she’d straightened herself back up. Her eyes were latched onto Elisha’s, the soft blue colors reflecting off of Elisha’s rainbow of brown..
“I do not. You do the exact same thing to Boshaw. You get the fucker all riled up and shit. He just always has his god damn brain in the gutter, so it don’ matter much.” Jess’s cheeks were still a light pink and it brought out the faintest smatter of freckles against her skin. There were only a few, but from this distance, Elisha was seeing them for the first time.
“It’s a different kind of thing I do to him. With him it’s all raunchy and meaningless. A joke. But you Jess...” Elisha paused as she moved her thumb under Jess’s chin and encouraged the woman to keep looking at her as she moved a little closer.
Elisha could see the grey flecks that were sprinkled in with the blue, and she realized it was why Jess’s eyes appeared to be such a light color from afar. Her heart was beating steady in her chest as Jess was frozen against the tree, but she didn’t look afraid as Elisha would’ve guessed.
“What about me?” She had that edge back in her voice, but it wasn’t aggressive like it normally was. Elisha winked and jostled Jess’s chin before taking a step backward with a shit-eating grin on her face.
“You Jess, are someone I always want by my side.” She shrugged and walked over to the log where their weapons lay side by side, partners in crime just like their owners.
When Elisha tossed a glance over her shoulder, Jess was rolling her eyes and heading towards the same log as Elisha, but she had a smile on her face. The grin had faded, as was expected, but a smile was still there with no sign of fading.
“So, where are we going to go next?” Elisha picked up her weapons and strapped them onto her back before picking up Jess’s compound bow and tossing it to her. Jess shrugged as she pulled it over her shoulders, then took her quiver from Elisha with a thoughtful look as their fingers brushed each other.
“I heard about a few different wolf beacon locations, we could go fuck those up if you wanted. You’ve got that list of places the cult took over so we could always go free those up. Or we could just walk or drive around killing those fucking Peggies.” Jess watched Elisha as she strapped her quiver over her back so that she could easily grab arrows when she needed them, and Elisha’s tongue was poking out as she considered the options.
“I’m fine as long as I’m with you, Black. We’ll wander for a bit and go from there, how ‘bout that?” Elisha grinned over at Jess, who nodded in response. She held out her hand to Elisha with a lopsided smile and a shrug.
“All we ever need is each other, Elee. We fucking got each other’s backs and that’s all that matters, dep.” Elisha was a bit taken aback that Jess had decided to say something so revealing, which for Jess was a lot. Elisha found herself blushing this time and she scratched her cheeks as she looked down at the ground.
“Yeah, that’s all that matters.” Elisha let Jess pull her in the direction of the nearest road, both women with smiles on their faces and warmth in their chests.

Elisha dipped the cloth into the cleaning solution briefly before returning to scrubbing at the blood on the mask she wore. The grooves and dents on the mask caused by combat and Joseph’s less-than-professional woodwork in creating it meant that it would inevitably stain the wood even worse than it already had, but Elisha had already come to terms with this. The blood on the mask wasn’t really something she cared about, anyway; she cleaned it out of habit more than anything.
Before the Collapse, she used to wear blood - either hers or someone else’s - like a sort of warpaint; a mark of victory. To be more concise, she did so during her time as Jacob Seed’s… “soldier.” She didn’t quite know what she was to him. “Captive,” perhaps, but she couldn’t deny the rush of going through the trials and hearing the echo of praises from the veteran in her hazy state of mind. It took a long, long time (and what was pretty close to the end of the world) to break that mindset. Still, it didn’t stop her mind from wandering there every now and again. The gleam lurking in those cold blue eyes as he looked her bloodied form over, seeing her panting from the previous trials. The knife sat in the sheath on his thigh, and Elisha had seen him absentmindedly spinning it around his fingers as he strolled between the cages.
Elisha gripped the cloth a bit too tightly as she heard the door open. She immediately untensed as it opened all the way to reveal Ruelle, her blonde hair a bit disheveled and clothing looking just a bit more worn than usual.
“Ran into some trouble?” Elisha asked casually, going back to her cleaning.
“Nothing Timber and I couldn’t handle,” the captain replied, walking over to the couch and flopping down onto it. “But it did take a bit out of me.”
“I imagine so. You could’ve taken me with you, you know.”
“Yeah, I know. But I figured I should give you a bit of a break from all the fighting. You know, a day off.”
“Mmhmm. Well, I’m not going to lie to you, Rue, I would’ve preferred to be out doing something. It’s been really quiet around here today.”
“So, boring?”
“Very.”
The two smiled amongst themselves. Lighter moments weren’t incredibly common - not in Hope County - but they were appreciated nonetheless. A comfortable silence settled in the room as Elisha continued her task and Ruelle made herself cozy on the furniture. After several minutes, it was broken.
“So, what were you thinking about before I came in?” Ruelle asked. It was an innocuous question, but the answer Elisha had was not. She considered whether she should tell the truth or dodge the question altogether.
“Who said I was thinking about something?”
“C’mon, I noticed that little jump you did. I caught you off-guard at the very least. And considering you were just polishing your mask and not doing something inappropriate, I assume you were thinking. And probably about something pretty big, since it’s not like you to zone out.”
Elisha laughed a little in response. “Maybe I was thinking a little bit.”
“Just a little?”
“Alright, maybe more than a little.”
When there was no elaboration, Ruelle sat back up and looked over to Elisha, who was hanging her mask up to grab the next time she left on a mission, or just in general.
“Mind indulging me?” the captain asked.
Elisha returned the glance, amber eyes meeting green for a moment. She saw concern in Ruelle’s eyes, and she broke eye contact.
“I mean, you don’t have to. I just thought, I don’t know, if it might help…” Ruelle added.
“Uh, yeah, just… thinking about the guy again. The one who listened to The Platters.” A quiet "oh” fell from Ruelle’s lips, and suddenly, the air felt a bit heavier.
“My bad. I didn’t mean to pry or anything. I was just… worried.”
“No, I know. I chose to share that, Rue. Besides, I bet you’d worry yourself sick if I let you.” Elisha noticed the slight pout on the captain’s features at the light teasing. “It’s nothing bad, I promise. More nostalgic than anything, really.” The blonde tilted her head to the side curiously.
“Nostalgic? What?” She furrowed her brows, trying to figure out what on earth Elisha could be nostalgic about. From what she had been told, this guy had basically tortured Elisha until - she didn’t want to think about it anymore.
“He didn’t say much outside of these sort of… lectures of his. And he was real good at twirling a knife around.”
The thought that these were weird things for Elisha to be commenting on crossed Ruelle’s mind, but the thought of saying so out loud did not.
“Never actually saw him use it, though,“ Elisha continues, "besides just… playing with it. He was a stoic army type, real gruff.”
“That song you keep humming sounds… I dunno. Kinda slow and sweet? Or sad, maybe? I just didn’t really think that it seemed like the type of song someone like that would listen to.”
“You’re telling me.”
Ruelle knew that there were plenty of pieces of the puzzle she was missing about this guy, about Elisha’s past. But she knew that the judge would tell her on her own terms, in her own time. But for now, this was more than she had expected to hear; after all, Elisha held her past close to her chest, all too willing to keep it buried.
“Thank you for sharing. I know you’d rather… not.”
“If you keep making a big deal about it, I’ll be sure not to do so again,” Elisha threatened, mostly in jest. “Are you gonna sleep in those clothes or are you going to change into something more comfortable?”
Ruelle flashed a sly smirk in her companion’s direction. “If you wanted me to take off my clothes, you could just ask, you know.” Ruelle saw Elisha roll her eyes at the flirt, but the smile on the brunette’s lips didn’t escape Ruelle’s notice either. “But you do have a point.” Still, she didn’t stand from the couch, even as the seconds turned into a full minute. She noticed the arched eyebrow directed at her. “But these clothes are already warm and it’s so cooold…” she jokingly whined.
“Captain.”
Ruelle threw her head back in exaggerated faux exasperation. “Ugh, fine.”
She pushed herself off of the couch and made her way to her wardrobe, shrugging off her jacket as she walked to the other room. Elisha set about starting a fire in the fireplace in order to keep the Montana chill out as Ruelle changed into something fit for sleeping and returned to the main room. Ruelle sank back down onto the couch as Elisha ignited the wood, watching the flame struggle for a moment before finally roaring to life.
“Alright, then, it’s your turn,” Ruelle said. “I know sleeping in that much clothing can’t be that great. You’d overheat in the night.”
“Oh, please. You know how cold Montana is at this point. I wouldn’t overheat, even with all of this on.” Elisha grinned at Ruelle. “And what was it you just said? ‘You could just ask’?”
Ruelle laughed as she responded, “Touché.”
A few minutes later, Elisha returned; taking a seat next to Ruelle on the couch and watching the flames dance in the firebox as the wood crackled and blackened. The two of them simply sat, enjoying each other’s presence and feeling the warmth of the fireplace filling up the main room. At some point, Elisha leaned over and rested her head on Ruelle’s shoulder. The blonde returned the gesture in kind; gently laying her cheek to rest against the top of Elisha’s head and bringing up a hand to run through Elisha’s hair gently, softly.
“Hey, Eli?” Ruelle asked. No response. Rather than repeat herself, Ruelle carefully lifted her head and leaned forward a little bit to get a look at Elisha’s face. Her eyes were closed, and her chest was rising and falling slowly, rhythmically. Ruelle smiled softly, seeing how… at ease Elisha looked. She hid her face beneath the crudely carved mask so often, like a sort of safety blanket, but Ruelle was one of the few people in the dystopic Hope County that had what she considered the pleasure of seeing Elisha without her mask.
Ruelle herself was pretty tired as well, having been out and about most of the day, getting shot at and fighting back. She was a bit surprised that Elisha had managed to fall asleep before she did, but she didn’t mind it;  not when she got to see how relaxed her judge was.
However, she knew if they fell asleep like this for too long, Elisha’s neck would be hurting when she woke up. Ruelle figured she should probably try and fix that.
She shifted a bit, just enough to gently disturb the position Elisha was in. Elisha shifted, and Ruelle ventured another call of Elisha’s name. Elisha slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times as the room came into focus.
“How long was I out?” she asked sleepily, sitting back up and rubbing her eyes.
“Not too long,” Ruelle answered. “C’mon, let’s actually head to bed.” Elisha nodded and stood slowly, stretching her arms above her head for a moment before dragging her feet towards the bedroom, Ruelle in tow.
Elisha slid beneath the covers, and Ruelle joined her, pulling the blankets up to their necks. Elisha scooted closer to the captain, fitting herself against the other woman, snuggling in and putting her arms around Ruelle. Ruelle smiled and pulled Elisha close.
The cold wouldn’t prove to be a problem as the two of them drifted off, safe and comfortable in each other’s arms.
Elisha dipped the cloth into the cleaning solution briefly before returning to scrubbing at the blood on the mask she wore. Been caught sneaking out?: "Umm, yes? I snuck out of my room to raid the fridge as a kid and got caught often. The question wasn't specific, it counts."
Fallen down/up the stairs?: "..... 😐 We're not talking about that right now. Next question."
Wanted someone/something so bad it hurt?: "Yes.. it's called food. I have to make daily trips to eat at a specific spot and I'm often delayed because of SOMEONE sending orders every morning, oftentimes setting them down the night before, Jacob. Let me eat!"
Wanted to disappear?: "Only when I think about it."
Four Preferences
Smile or eyes?: "Eyes, they say more than you can hide."
Shorter or taller?: "I'm actually neutral on this one but I'll admit taller people catch my eye quicker."
Intelligence or attraction?: "Intelligence IS attraction."
Hook-up or relationship?: "Eeh, I'm ... Neutral on this. Ok maybe not but I'm constantly switching between the two, it just depends on the person I'm talking too and what they want and what they can handle. I know my limits."
Do you and your family get along?: "Oh yeah, we bicker, a lot, but reunions are never cancelled."
Would you say you have a messed up life?: "You can't see it but I'm laughing and crying at this question. I'll get through this. We all will."
Have you ever ran away from home?: "No but Jacob says I have. Just crazy talk."
Have you ever gotten kicked out?: "Indirectly. Some friends and I went to a restaurant back in Cali. One of them was on the heavier side and ate the owner dry on reserves lol he kicked us all out."
Friends
Do you secretly hate one of your friends?: "Back home? No. Here? Absolutely not, you kidding? Nothing but respect for these guys. They're really fighting out here."
Do you consider all of your friends good friends?: "With recent events, no, and the ones I did are no longer seen that way either. Everything's just building up and collapsing lately but I have good allies."
Who is your best friend?: "Sharky, he's a ride or die man. I gotta give him props. We may not journey together all the time but he's always welcoming dare I say comforting. Him and Hurk Jr. and that's more than I can ask for at times like these."
Who knows everything about you?: "I don't know. I'd like to think it's Jess. She's seen me at my lowest and has heard me out but to be frank... It's Jacob. He's seen me at my primal, he's seen me do things I'm not even aware of. I can only imagine what I might've said when I wasn't fully there. In those cages and during those trials, those damn PowerPoints. He's not stupid, he'll dig up anything and everything he can to use against me if he hasn't already. Agh, all this thinking made my head hurt."

She walked the room with feather light sound emitting from her feet. Like a ghost in flesh roaming around with purpose. Soft sweets hums filled the room in a faint embrace as she gathered the items required to tend to her bow spread out before her. Sitting on the beaten down couch Ruelle watched Elisha go about her routine. She was in an exceptionally good mood today. Singing that unknown tune again that has become all too familiar by now. Ruelle had tried asking where it was from in the past, but the sight of Elisha’s soft smile fading and her shoulders tensing was a clear indicator the subject was uncomfortable. She had still given her an answer.
“The Platters.” was all she said. Short and almost reluctant to share but an answer nonetheless.
From across the room Elisha sat by the corner table with her legs crossed. Her bow rested on her lap as she coated it’s wooden frame with thin ointment on a cloth. Her humming turned into hushed words. Whispering lyrics only she knew to a rhythm only she heard. Closing her eyes she sighed as she allowed herself to swoon to the memories and feelings. Opening her eyes again she continued with her work and resumed her humming. Glancing from beneath her lashes she arched a brow at Ruelle.
“How long are you going to stare at me before you ask?” She teased, her voice hoarse yet warm and gentle.
Ruelle didn’t flinch or coward away at this. The corner of her lips curled upward slowly, a huff of air releasing through her nose.
“So you’ve noticed?” She tilted her head down slightly to compliment her raised brows then looked away with belated realization “You’ll humor me?” Her double take made Elisha chuckle nervously.
“A ‘penny for your thoughts’ if you will.” She braced herself. Ruelle always found a way to surprise her. She wasn’t fond of surprises or direct questions but more often than not they were refreshing. She was betting on that fact that this will be no different. Absentmindedly Elisha puffed her chest in anticipation. Ruelle eyed the floor as she pondered what to ask. She had so many questions, every time she got one answer two more questions would take its place. So very curious she was but Elisha only provided so much at once. She tried to think of a tricky question, something that could have a domino effect, anything at this point really.
“Ok, how about the story behind how you discovered this Plates group.” She perked.
Elisha released her breath in a scoff, finally becoming aware she was holding it in, before proceeding to cover her mouth with her hand to hide her smile. Resting her elbow on the edge of the table she turned away and cleared her throat. Tracing her lips with her fingertips she faced Ruelle once more in a composed manner.
“You mean The Platters?” She corrected.
Ruelle’s eyes widened slightly at her mistake. Her ears slowly began to burn and her cheeks flushed. Looking down at her hands she smiled sheepishly.
“Yes, them. The Platters.” She corrected herself.
Elisha looked away once more and nibbled at her fingernails in thought. Her mind frantic to find the right words to say. Who was Jacob to her back then? A master, in a teaching sense? Her owner? She only referred to him as a friend when coating his identity every time she would tell a story. Side glancing the woman on the couch she sighed nervously.
Ruelle was patiently waiting for Elisha to gather herself.
“Well..” She began after a few moments of silence. “Back when I was in my early twenties. Before the collap-” Catching her mistake mid sentence Elisha closed her eyes for a brief moment. Burrowing her brows she grew irritated with herself for allowing her mind to slip and think of Joseph in that split second. He was gone so he needed to be gone from her mind too. Ruelle always thought she was being too hard on herself for this. She watched her glare out the window in silence. Blinking several times Elisha shook her head and continued.
“Before the bombs fell, I was a cop and I encountered this.. Gang.” Grabbing her bow she rearranged its position on her lap to continue coating it. Inwardly smiling at the twisted reality her story was taking. “During one of the many encounters with this group I was kidnapped by the leader who then caged me like a dog and proceeded to starve me all the while exposed to the harsh seasonal weather.” She stated nonchalantly.
Ruelle’s eyes widened in horror. She had only asked about a music group. She had expected a broken love story or a childhood memory but not this. Instinctively covering her mouth she curled into the couch but continued to listen with eager.
“With his gang it was a matter of join or die.” Setting the bow to the side to dry she continued on with the set of three newly made arrows. They still needed the feathers to be applied at the end.
“But if he saw potential in you, he’d do everything in his power to change your mind. He didn’t mind if you died in the process though, it was always survival of the fittest with him.” Gathering the iconic set of owl feathers she uses she brought them closer to her so that she could start fletching.
“He was very enthusiastic about all of this. Very well informed too, almost too informed. He relied on traditional conditioning.” Pausing once more she peeks another glance at Ruelle who looked like a child listening to scary stories by the campfire. “Ever heard of that?” She smirked not so much at her but at the irony of the situation. How he had once asked her the same thing with that gleam in his eyes. She sighed inwardly at the memory.
Ruelle nodded stiffly “It’s what’s used to trains dogs or any animal for that matter.” She said with caution in her voice. Almost too afraid to be right and trigger something at the same time.
“He just… Saw you all as animals.” She stated. “And people followed that?” She narrowed her eyes in disgust, inwardly cringing as Elisha simply nodded at her. She had assumed many things about Elisha’s past but this was surely not part of it. She said it was survival of the fittest and yet she was the only one around to tell this story. Ruelle straightened her back as she looked at the woman before her with a renowned perspective. Survival of the fittest and there she sat before her still young and strong; a true survivor.
“Now to get to the point of your question. He always, and I mean always, had the same song playing over and over. It was his favorite.” Holding the last arrow between her fingers she turned it to examine her work. “It was-”
“It was by The Platters.” Ruelle whispered in shock. She remained still on her spot like a deer in headlights, but her mind began racing. Wondering why she would humor the memory by singing the same song he did. Why did she seem so happy singing it. Just why.
Elisha chuckled as she watched Ruelle spiral down into her mind. “Not the story you were hoping for?” She mocked knowing full well she left several things unexplained. “Don’t worry, the story has a happy ending.” She stated as she began to string up the bow. “I killed him, took everything that defined him-” Finishing the last end she stood straight and looked down at Ruelle with confidence now that wasn’t there before “And I made it my own.”
Grabbing her quiver and bow she made her way to the door. “Come, we better get going.” Standing by the doorway she looked over her shoulder and watched Ruelle scurry to get her things. Smiling softly she pondered for the first time if telling her the truth was an option. Could she handled it?

Joseph: You need to stop.
Elisha: .......Again.
°•°•°•
Around 2 1/2 years into being in the bunker with Joseph. Elisha asked him to help her reconditioned herself and break from Jacob's haunting hold. Instead of Only You being the trigger song. It was slowly turned into Amazing Grace. A reason why Joseph stopped singing once they stepped out of the bunker.
It was an exhausting transition but an event that brought them closer together.
