smaller things first - misgendering Élise a few times when they first started working together always makes him wince a bit, a bunch of people he ghosted in college after sleeping with them once, damaging one of Matteo's cars drunk driving and swerving off the road when they were younger (Matteo forgot like five minutes after finding out, Bastien still often feels deeply ashamed)

the big one is the plot relevant sequence of events and decisions- finally rejecting Wolf's advances despite his actual desires, leading to Wolfgang disappearing off the face of the earth for over week, leading to Bastien finding the clinic on fire and their lifeless body inside, leading to some of the worst months of his life. it's not that Wolfgang doesn't remember, they have trouble piecing it all together in sequence at first but they absolutely don't fault Bastien for anything he did even after having the whole picture. meanwhile Bastien will carry that guilt to his grave

fsfhs i can imagine a lifetime of bad and thoughtless gifts to the point they never really expect much of anyone else. one of the worst was probably getting a really fancy dinner jacket and trousers from Matteo that were intentionally tailored two sizes smaller to be "aspirational". Bastien likely tried his best to fake a smile and thank him while putting it somewhere deep in his closet to never be seen again.

actually telling people his desires out loud is a Whole Problem He Needs to Work On but i think in passing he would voice some platitudes like "i just want a peaceful stable life" or "i just want to help people" and only one of those is true.

#I think it’s somewhat important to note that the pv and song are inspired by phantom of the opera 

#so maybe it would make more sense to have knowledge about the musical to understand this song/pv(?) 

 AAAH I have a lot of theories on it!! It's clearly loosely based on Phantom of the Opera (except it was twisted, like how dios took Cinderella and twisted it into Cendrillon). I translated the lyrics and they don't really match up to the MV though 😢 I think the big problem is that Phantom of the Opera IS a problematic story (to sum it up, creepy masked guy is infatuated with 16y/o girl), and when making the song they didn't want to include the problematic elements

(which unfortunately is a LOT of elements) and therefore the plot has lots of holes to make sense of. but basically from the lyrics itself the main theme that I grasped was "a deformed boy who grew up hated and loathed by everybody, experiences love for the first time" (and the love is not from the meiko's side, but kaito's own love). The ending is really confusing? either they both died or it just shows acceptance

I'm gonna infodump more I am sorry. I am desperate for someone to hear this I have been bottling it up. There are 2 different interpretations of the ending - that they both die, or that they live happily ever after (hard to think though...) The death ending is actually really backed up by kaito's grave, the angels all around them, the field at the end looks like the asphodel meadows, etc. so this one would mean that kaito is really a ghost and not just some guy

the death ending would be really odd though, and may or may not imply s//c/// (the act of meiko joining a kaito who is already dead) the other theory I have is that the grave is a fake one, like, kaito's original family were ashamed of his deformity and faked his death, instead throwing him to the underground to survive on his own, and meiko finding the grave is symbolising her finding out his past? and the mask fading away is her accepting him?

the ending where they are peacefully in the field is where I'm really stuck at because it really does look like the asphodel meadows (where ordinary souls go after death) but it feels anticlimactic to have them both just... die??? so I rather believe it just means they got a happy ending outside of the underground ALIVE

another possible interpretation is that there's a curse on kaito that only fades when he experiences love (that's why in the last frame he looks like his face is back to normal) however there isn't much to back that up and the original POTO has nothing about magic or curses so I don't know what to think about that

oh oh also!! the underground scene. I think that sometime after young kaito was cast out by the world, a young meiko visited the opera hall and accidentally got lost in the underground, thus their first meeting, and he (covered up so she wouldn't run when seeing his form) did something to help her so she impulsively gave him her brooch in return. and so he waited for her to come back to put it back on her hair (when they're together at the end we can see he slips it on)

I think the big problem here is that the lyrics, the video and the original POTO don't align at all? so it's hard to find something 😭 originally the phantom talks to the girl in her dressing room and pretends to be the angel of music, but that itself is creepy. i think in this version, meiko only hears kaito's voice in her sleep, which is why she wakes up and tries to find it

Gllantmon has always been interested in baking, his favourite thing was bread! It simply fascinated him on the process of how it was made -- and since it could be made into shapes, he always wanted to see some in the shape of a Digimon!

He was more than excited when you brought up that you wanted to do some baking, from both the idea of spending some quality time with you and.. just making something yummy! Maybe you're going to make cookies, or maybe you're planning to make bread, since you know it's his favourite.

As excited as he is though, being this close with you just makes his heart start to race. He's glad he has his helmet to cover his face, cause he's certain it would be all sorts of red. Was it just him, or did the kitchen feel a bit more cramped than usual?

He does try to keep himself calm as you both talk and laugh as you follow instructions, but he can't help the small noises that come out when he brushes his hand with yours while trying to reach for something, quickly pulling it back as he focuses on his ball of dough he would be kneading/in the process of making, since you both decided to make your own rolls and see how they would come out. His hands are bigger than yours, and he declared he needed to make a larger portion to do what he had planned.

Amazing how this Royal Knight can act so shy when near his Tamer, he simply can't help it. He isn't sure how to bring up his feelings, if he ever finds the right time. He'll probably sit and wait till it feels right, if that ever happens. He always tries to build himself up, but he simply can never find the right words!

It seemed you both had a near same idea when it came to making your bread; Gallantmon wanted a Guilmon bread -- he tried his best to shape it in the way of his Rookie form at a profile stance, although it was a bit messy and hardly looked like Guilmon -- he tried his best, and he's pretty proud of it! And you went for something similar, though just making his face. You both had a good laugh about it.

It was something silly, and you really wanted to bake more with Gallantmon, he proved to be quite fun once he understood the entire process. He's really cute when he isn't being, as his namesake is, Gallant and protective. You wanted to see more of him getting easily embarrassed by small little things.

You may or may not have purposely brushed a hand against him during the whole process to see his reaction, he isn't the best at keeping his feelings a secret if you looked close enough.

"WHAT WE ARE NOT:  A rescue, animal sanctuary, or re-homing resource for people looking to get rid of chickens.

WHAT WE ARE:  A 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization that works to find loving, forever homes for ex-commercial egg-laying chickens – which we collectively refer to as "spent hens." Our emphasis is helping those that come from caged systems, but in the future, our goal is to expand and work with ones from other backgrounds as well. Second-Hen’d only approves and works with dedicated adopters who agree not to use/sell the hens for meat or dump them when they stop laying.

 

Aside from re-homing spent hens, Second-Hen’d attends special events and farmer's markets in the area to highlight the therapeutic benefits associated with keeping chickens as pets (among other topics). PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and memory-loss are just some issues that have shown great improvement when taking care of these feathered friends. Like our founder (a disabled veteran battling PTSD/anxiety/depression), other veterans have an understanding and feeling of purpose when they can save a life and watch it flourish. They get it. Once their military service is over or compromised, they are no longer seen as valuable to the organization, so they are discarded.

 

Spent hens are most often between 1- and 1.5-years-old when disposed of because they're no longer considered productive assets in the egg industry. In the U.S. alone, approximately 300 million hens lose their lives each year as a result of this practice. If adopted, Second-Hen’d can give these hens a further, meaningful purpose. When properly cared for, chickens can live up to 10 years – sometimes longer! At first, spent hens are terrified of everything. However with time, patience, and love, these girls end up having very sweet and gentle personalities. They understand what you've done for them and reward you with their gratitude.

Out of numerous groups doing similar work in the UK (where re-homing spent hens is a common practice), the biggest players are the British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT) and Fresh Start for Hens (FSFH). By not resorting to negative smear-campaigns, a level of trust is established between hen re-homing organizations and egg farmers/companies. This leaves the latter comfortable enough to reach out about their retiring hens on a regular basis. And amazingly, these groups have wait-lists filled with devoted adopters eager to give the hens a new lease on life!

 

Extremism turns people off and important points trying to be made are missed. That’s why Second-Hen'd follows the BHWT and FSFH examples of making it a priority to build strong, trusting relationships with whoever we choose to work with. We celebrate the positives associated with our efforts, never resort to extremism or negativity, and we remain respectful. Even though not everyone agrees on a chicken's worth, there's no reason we can't find common ground and work together. Our supporters are a diverse group of people who come from a number of different backgrounds. We refuse to shame others and we do our best to remain neutral when possible. Without hesitation we will clarify or comment on a matter if necessary, but we won’t debate on topics of contention. Putting others down isn’t productive, so why waste energy that could be more useful elsewhere? Instead we educate with facts, and trust that knowledge will lead to more compassionate choices"
