Moving text blocks in gimp
This a Gimp 2.10.20 (linux) and replicated your path and scale (29 px text) as best I could. That does not look the case from your screenshot. Release your cursor and you're done! You should now see your text highlighted by the color border you chose.(06-26-2020, 08:25 PM)rich2005 Wrote: Very strange, with older versions of Gimp you could get that sort of effect if the path was a little too short.The new layer you created will be the second or middle layer. In other words, the text layer will now be the top, or number one, layer. Take your mouse and hold the cursor down on the top layer and then drag it down so that it is between the text layer and the background layer.The name of the layer will also be to the right of the icon box. The top layer will have a transparent background, which looks like light and dark grey check boxes, and depending on the size of your outline text, you may see it inside of the box.The middle layer should have a T symbol on it and you will see your text in the box to the right.The bottom layer will be called Background and will be white.You should see 3 layers with a little "eye" symbol to the left of them. Use Ctrl+L to bring up the Layer toolbox.This now means that the layer you are working on is no longer selected. The yellow dotted line that you previously saw around the edge of your document should disappear. Go to the Select menu and choose "None" (or Shift+Ctrl+A).The original text will be completely covered, but don't worry! The end result is your entire text area is now the color you chose for the outline. If you see a circle with a slash through it next to the arrow and bucket, this means you need to move your cursor directly over the text until that circle turns into a filled-in dark rectangle. You may find that nothing happens if the cursor is not properly placed. Hold the cursor over your highlighted text and then click on it.Step 13: Changing the color of your border You can choose your desired outline color here and hit "OK" when you are ready. When you click on it, the color picker box will pop up. The default color for this will be white. Move your cursor over to the toolbox and click on the foreground color box at the bottom of the toolbox.Step 12: Selecting the Paint Bucket Fill tool The little paint bucket icon will now be part of your cursor. Under the same Tools menu, choose Paint Tools and Bucket Fill (or Shift+B).You will need the toolbox to be available for the next step in order to choose your outline color.You can move it wherever you like by holding down your cursor and dragging it.If you don't see it, go to the "Tools" option in the main menu and scroll down and choose "New Toolbox." Or, you can just hit Ctrl+B.Before you move on to the next step, make sure that your toolbox is available on the screen.You will notice now that your text is highlighted with dashed lines that appear to flicker.Add in an appropriate number and click "OK." This is where you will choose how thick you want yourr outline border to be. In the same Select menu options, choose "Grow." The Grow Selection box will pop up.Now, choose the "Select" option from the main menu and then "From Path." (Or, Shift+V).Keep the default fill type set to "Transparency" and click "OK." You can choose to name your layer if you wish. The New Layer dialogue box will pop up.Choose the "Layer" option in the main menu, then "New Layer." You can use Shift+Ctrl+N if you prefer keyboard shortcuts.Step 5: Opening the Path from Text option Then, right-click using your mouse and choose "Path from Text" in the menu that comes up. Now that you have some text typed in, use your cursor to highlight the text.You can use the options in the text box to change the font, size, color and style of the text. Then, select "Text" from the resulting pull-down menu. Once your new file is open, go to the "Tools" option in the main menu or use "T" shortcut key.For the purposes of this tutorial, leave the default image properties (size, orientation, etc.) as-is. To do this, go to the File option in main horizontal menu and click on "New." Alternatively, use Ctrl+N if you prefer to use keyboard shortcuts. The first thing to do is to create a new image file.The border is usually a different color from the main text and helps your text to stand out from the image or colors behind it. A border is simply a line border that conforms to the shape of your text.

My XP-Pen PenTablet Window Software: ON and OFF Windows Ink difference - Windows 7 ver. (Oct. 15th, 2020)
Hi, My XP-Pen Deco 01 V2′s topic continues after a weeks of hiatus focusing on my other stuff.😊🖊️📝
Today I’m talking about “Windows Ink” on Windows 7 from the old Lenovo laptop (G470).💻 So why am I talking about this? Well... You’ll see.
*But before that, I want YOU… Yes you, which you’re reading my description. I want you to watch my recorded video first 📹📲 (as a observation) before you read the rest of my reaction experience. Hope you’re watching…
My Experience #1:
•(Now as you already done watching video.) I didn’t realize in my whole drawing life, that the “Windows Ink” was disable from the XP-Pen PenTablet Window Software. But what happens if I enable the “Windows Ink”? Well, the result was my cursor mouse is unable to move and I can’t tap anything at all; both in GIMP art software, and other windows programs. Except in the working canvas area of the GIMP, in which is the only part that the cursor can move. In my theory: “Windows Ink” for Windows 7 version can only detect the working canvas area when plugging the drawing/graphic tablet and enable the “Windows Ink”, unlike in Windows 10′s Windows Ink counterpart (and also Windows 8 variants I guess). As for my drawing performance 📝✍️ between ON and OFF "Windows Ink” for Windows 7; well it’s quite the same actually, albeit a little bit weighty when I switch ON “Windows Ink” compare to lightness when I switch OFF. Here, I made some examples for that.↓
My experience #2:
• So like I said before, it performs the same for both of them with a bit heavy scribble for turning ON and light scribble when turning OFF.
• Though I even try to send a message to a professional artist youtuber named “Teoh Yi Chie” / Parka Blogs on his profile website about “ON and OFF Windows Ink differences”; saying that “Certain apps will only have pressure sensitivity when Windows Ink is turned on. So if there are troubles with pressure sensitivity, you may want to turn Windows Ink on or off to troubleshoot.” and “You have to toggle Windows Ink on and off. If you can’t drag with or without Windows Ink, it’s probably not Windows Ink problem. Could be driver problem.” From the looks of it, I haven’t much problem on pressure sensitivity after I already setup the right way. And you know what, I think I should switch / leave turn off the “Windows Ink”, just for the sake of mobility on my cursor using my Passive Pen and the Drawing Tablet of my XP-Pen Deco 01 V2, rather than just toggle on and off which is annoying in my opinion. Although… Unless If I moved to Windows 10 OS from a my little bro’s former gaming PC desktop, I should do another topic. Because my little bro is earning his big savings for a better gaming PC desktop; I mean -better graphics card, motherboard, CPU chip, RAM and all needed specs, just to get a improve performance for his Autodesk Revit architect work. It seems to be that I will moved to Windows 10 and leave Windows 7 very very soon… Probably November or December.
And BTW: Big shout out to Mr. Teoh Yi Chie from Singapore. I think he’s a good professional artist who had a lot of drawing/graphics tablets reviews and also pen display and sometimes flatbed scanners too (at that time) which mostly I watched from his video a lot (than just art supply tools,etc… because I focused on digital drawing/graphics tablets), so I want to say thank you for your good advice about my recent topic. Mooodddddssss!!! What art programs do you use? Y'alls art looks amazing, I gotta know.
I draw my entries by hand and then use GIMP 2.10.20 to digitally trace and color them. I’ve been drawing digitally like this for quite a few years now, and it can be a pretty long and tedious process. Just recently did my dad tell me he would look for one of his old drawing tablets to hook up to my new desktop. So, hopefully very soon, I’ll be able to cut drawing time in half and produce better drawings at the same time! ~Mod Yosh
I use Photoshop CS5 that I got with a student discount when I was going to college. My sibling hooked me up with an earlier version of PS before that, so it’s the program I’ve used most in my life for art. I’ve had a few Wacom tablets, and one Bamboo. I’m currently using a Wacom Intuous Pro. -Mod Kitty

Without further ado, let’s get started:
8th to 11th Image(s):
• [8th Image] Take a look of the item itself, aside from the logo name brand ‘8Bitdo’, the design was the inspired brick theme which somehow came out a classic ‘Super Mario Bros.’ on the NES / Famicom from all different sides, nice.🙂
•[9th & 10th Image(s)] Here on the side you see a sticker with a little instructions �� on how to use this wireless adapter by connecting to the Nintendo Switch and Sony PS Classic micro console, as well as the pairing connection for using the Sony PS4′s DualShock 4 controller 🎮 from the wireless adapter to either Switch, Windows and other selected system compatibles (Please see ‘Part 1′).
•[11th Image] I think I’m gonna need that sticker though, so remove it to reveal the brick theme look and place it someone else which I’ll show you later... 🙂
12th and 13th Image(s):
• [12th Image] On the bottom side, you see a button on the right; that’s the pairing button, which is a shape of a Mario coin, nice. I can’t wait to press that button when I plug to laptop and connecting to my existing wireless controller.☺️
• [13th Image] Removing the brick cap to reveal the USB type A connector format, just like the actual box itself. 😉
14th Image:
• As for the sticker, well I decided to place it on the back of the plastic compartment from the box (instead of just throw in the trash can). Just in case I needed in the future. 🙂

• My paper dolls response to my actual wireless adapter was ‘awesome in real life’. Thanks.☺️

• Now as I mentioned before on the ‘12th Image’, here’s my Sony PS4′s DualShock 4 controller that I’m gonna testing in for pairing with my 8bitdo USB Wireless Adapter (PS Classic Edition) and see if it works. And since I don’t have a Nintendo Switch gaming console, I’ll go use a computer laptop instead; running on Windows 7 (32bit) 💻, after all my wireless adapter supports Windows OS (7 to 10 and up). My paper dolls say that they can’t wait to try out yours, and to that I agree. 😊

This post is created to satisfy II40333 Digital Forensics Course assignment
My next journey in Digital Forensics is to analyze Images. So I was given three separates zip files. The first files is I presume is an original picture. The second zip file contains two edited images of the first image. The third zip contains only the edited image.
First let's analyze the third image using a tool called Sherloq. This is the picture of the third image, let's call it "Gambar 3":
With Sherloq, there are tools that is specified to detect tampering in the image. But first let's check if it's even edited by checking the EXIF data.
From the information above, we can determine that the edit was occurred on 14 September 2020 by the Software GIMP 2.10.20.
Next up let's check how the tampering might have been done using Contrast Enhancement.
From the image above, we can see that there seems to be something above that was tampered, some kind of round object that was not present in the original image. The next method we will use is Copy-Move Forgery. This tool will use BRISK Algorithm to detect any movement done by editor. Below is the processed image detected Copy-Move Forgery:
We can see that there appears to be something above that was tampered, or moved, same as the result of Contrast Enhancement. Next we will check by using Composite Splicing that will create a Heatmap of tampered object in the image. Below is the result of processed image using Composite Splicing:
From all the processed image above we can conclude that the tampering done to the "Gambar 3" was some kind of removal of anything rounded on the top portion of the picture.
Let us continue to the next set of pictures. I will call the original picture as "Gambar 1" and the two edited image as "Gambar 1a" and "Gambar 1b".

GIMP for Unix-like systems
If available, the official package from your Unix-like distribution is the recommended method of installing GIMP!
The flatpak build is new and has known limitations, though it will likely provide faster updates, following GIMP releases closely.
Therefore choose your installation medium according to your needs.
Flatpak build available in: i386, x86-64, ARM and AArch64.
Flatpak additional instructions
The flatpak link above should open your software installer and prompt you to install GIMP. Yet it may not work out-of-the-box on some platforms since the flatpak technology is new. If that is the case, ensure flatpak is installed and if clicking the link still does not prompt to install GIMP, then manually install by command line:
flatpak install https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.gimp.GIMP.flatpakref
Once installed, it will be made available exactly the same way as other applications (menus, desktop overview, or any specific application launch process used by your desktop).
If this is not the case, we suggest to report a bug to your desktop or distribution asking for proper support of flatpak. In the meantime, you can still run it by command line (not as the recommended method, only a workaround):
flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP//stable
This installation will also provide regular update. You don't have to come back on this page and install again (it will not work!) when a new version of GIMP is released. Instead if your distribution and/or desktop has a good support for flatpak, it should propose to perform updates.
Once again, if your distribution does not have proper support, you can always fall back to using the following command line:
flatpak update
Systems without flatpak support
GIMP can also run on Solaris and is available for the BSD family of systems such as FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

Macports
An easy way to compile and install GIMP and other great Free software on your Mac is by using Macports. The installer allows you to choose from a large directory of packages. To install gimp using Macports, you simply do sudo port install gimp once you have Macports installed.
Last we checked, the GIMP port file pointed to the current stable release and we have reports from people who've built GIMP successfully this way.
Homebrew
Homebrew is similar to Macports and provides packages (aka formulas) to install, either by compiling them from source or by using pre-made binaries. There are indications that there is now a formula for GIMP, installable with: brew tap homebrew/cask && brew cask install gimp.
NOTE! Please be aware that it was announced recently that Homebrew is using analytics. To turn this off in homebrew then run: brew analytics off

Fink is a package repository that offer mostly precompiled binaries. It provides the apt-get command known to e.g. Debian and Ubuntu users, and installing GIMP is as easy as sudo apt-get install gimp once you have installed the Fink installer.
