FNAF Movie Theory...
I'm pretty sure there's still one major plot twist in the universe of the movie that's been set up for a sequel but hasn't actually happened yet. Heavy spoilers under the cut:
After watching the movie in theaters and then revisiting a few scenes on Peacock, I'm still kind of convinced that Mike Schmidt is Michael Afton.
Here's my reasoning. A lot of the characters spend time acting like they know something the audience/other characters don't, and those things are...mostly resolved. But some of them just...kind of aren't.
The main thing that sticks out to me is William's whole storyline. Starting with the scene where he offers Mike the job, his behavior is almost explained by the movie's logic. He sees Mike's name, seems...kind of deeply upset, looks at him very closely, stands to get coffee, and has a moment of visible internal conflict. Then he instantly offers him the Freddy's job. The way the movie frames this, it seems to be saying that he recognized the name of one of his victims, realized this was the kid's brother, and decided to kill him right then and there. Which is passable as an explanation, but it has a lot of holes, if you look deeper.
Why would William so instantly recognize a fairly common last name as the brother of some kid he killed that wasn't even anywhere near Freddy's? Why did he kidnap/kill Garrett in the first place, in some random forest in Nebraska? Why did he see the name on the file, then immediately stop and examine Mike's face so closely, when Mike's memories/dreams pretty clearly show that they never saw each others' faces when Garrett was taken? Why did he send Vanessa to "keep Mike in the dark" if he purposely gave him the job to get him killed? Why not have the animatronics kill him right away? He didn't know that Mike was searching for the man who took his brother, and while he could have maybe guessed he was still actively haunted by what happened based on Mike beating up a guy that he thought was kidnapping someone, it still feels like a weird choice to go and hire him, then just have him do the job with no issue for a few days.
As for Vanessa, we see that she's been cleaning up William's messes for years. Why is Mike the one she changes her mind and stands up to her father for? There's no implied romance between the two and no particularly meaningful connection beyond them both having family issues. I guess she cares about Abby because she's a kid, but kids getting hurt clearly never stopped her from helping her father before.
And, on a more meta level, this is Scott and his storytelling style we're talking about. The man puts plot twists inside of plot twists and everything always ties back into the Aftons, somehow.
So, here's my theory: I think that Mike is William's kid, but Mike's mom left Afton when he was young and remarried the man that Mike thinks is his father.
It seems convoluted and maybe cliche, but if it's true, then suddenly there's an answer to all of those questions. "Michael Schmidt" isn't exactly an eye-catching name, unless you had a kid named Michael and your ex-wife married a guy with the last name Schmidt. Garrett's kidnapping, then, becomes an act of intentional, petty revenge rather than an extremely random coincidence. Giving Mike the job and sending in Vanessa suddenly becomes about piecing together how much he knows and figuring out if he's worth trying to reconnect with or is just a threat that needs to be killed. (It feels worth noting that William is as far as I can remember the only person to call him Michael in the whole film. He also very pointedly never says "Schmidt" until he's decided to kill Mike and suddenly announces his full name out loud. If he went by Michael as a little kid, that is what William would default to calling him, but if he took the new husband's last name, that would be like like salt in the wound that he wouldn't want to voice. By finally saying it out loud, it feels like he's making the decision to fully separate himself from Mike.)
As for Vanessa, if Mike is her brother, it makes sense that he would be the person she'd turn against William to save. It would be weird for her not to tell him, but she could also be trying to protect him, in some way. There's never any mention of her mother, and it seems like it's just been her and William for a long time. Also, ending the movie with her in a coma feels like a strange narrative choice, but it makes sense if she knows information that's purposely being kept hidden for the sequel.
Of course, it could just be that the movie has kind of messy writing and I'm trying to fix it because I want there to be a deeper reason for it. Maybe there is no Michael Afton in the movies, or maybe he's off chilling and doing his own thing somewhere and we'll see him in the sequel. Only time will tell.

Garrett theory:
so you know how serial killers can be sentimental in a way? like theyll keep a trophy of their kill? i think thats why William kept Garretts plane.
why? i personally think that Garrett was Williams first kill. like ever. its so far from the Pizzeria. its in a random camping spot in the woods. it was so sudden. like it was a spur of the moment thing. he saw the opportunity and just. did it
and then we went as far as to keep the kids toy and give it to his own daughter. its horrible
but its JUST like Charlie Emily. im an Evan Afton was the first death believer, but Charlie can just as easily be. no matter what, Charlie was Williams first murder, and then he kept going.
with that in mind, lets look at the fact that Golden Freddy is inhabited by TOYSNHK. aka the movieverse Cassidy. that slot is filled.
Its Me appeared on the mirror in front of Mike. the puppets music box played during the credits. immediately after 'COME FIND ME' is spelled out with the fnaf 2 minigame robotic letters.
mike himself even said Garrett felt closer in the pizzeria! theres a lot of evidence right now pointing towards Garrett being the puppet. he was the first kill. the first before the MCI, like Charlie
not to mention how the Schmidts seem to be replacing the Emilys in a way. the family name vs family name type thing. dont forget theres also that theory of mikes dad being Henry.
but back to my other point about Evan and Charlie, and how either of them could be the first based on what you believe, it still counts. garrett takes both evan AND charlies roles in the story. like how Vanessa takes Vannys and Michael Aftons. Like Mike schmidt takes michael aftons but also the story of an innocent family who are victims of williams killings by losing a loved one.
Garrett is both the lost first kill of the 'good' family of the story (the emilys in gameverse), AND he has the role of Evan with mike, with mikes guilt and the idea that he can avenge him or save him in a way. hes the Its Me. hes the puppet
(the family (afton + schmidt) duality also works because of the symmetry theme in the movie. also Garrett would be two game characters combined, also applying. just like how the characters i mentioned above also have combinations of two game characters as their own)
anyway this universe is super intriguing and awesome and i cant wait to see what theyre gonna do next

FNAF Movie :^)
Just watched it and I wanna write down my thoughts.
First bit of this post is mostly spoiler-free, I'll put spoilers under the read more.
If you're a fan and you're planning on watching it anyway, DO NOT READ ANYTHING ABOUT IT. TL;DR: it's good, we've waited so long for this, you'll enjoy it, don't spoil it for yourself :^)
First of all, I really enjoyed it. It felt very genuine, like it was made for the fans. Despite having a couple scares, it wasn't really scary. People who just wanna watch a horror film but don't really care for FNAF might be a bit disappointed there. Though as a FNAF fan, it's exactly what I hoped it would be tone-wise. It has a horror theme to it but doesn't take itself too seriously. It's pretty funny too, and has a lot of references to various things from the games and community (I'll elaborate in the spoilery bit).
There's a lot of small details sprinkled in throughout the movie, and I definitely missed some of them. I'll probably be rewatching it asap whenever it's available online.
Spoilers below (I have a lot to say about the lore) \/
FINAL SPOILER WARNING, IF YOU MISCLICKED, LOOK AWAY NOW. I WILL BE SPOILING THE FNAF MOVIE !!!!
I'm very interested about the canon of this movie. Although it seems like an adaptation of the first game, the plot and some major characters are very different. Game canon has always been pretty unclear but this movie contradicts a lot of what we thought we knew. It could be a retcon, or it be its own movie canon (that the potential movie sequels will follow). I'm very curious about the theories that people will have about it.
Here's some major points:
Mike Schmidt is Mike Schmidt, not a pseudonym for Michael Afton. Does Michael Afton even exist?? Who knows. Either way, William Afton immediately recognises his surname and immediately offers him the Freddy's job upon reading it. This could be because he knew Mike's brother, though I would've assumed that William was just killing random kids during MCI. Specifically picking Mike for the job due to this connection was very interesting. Also, what happened to Garrett? Like, yeah, William killed him, but he's not one of the ghost kids.
Abby / Vanessa -- who even is Elizabeth Afton?? The general theory before the movie came out was that Abby was the movie version of Elizabeth. Name is an anagram of Baby, she's Mike's sister, etc. But we now know that Mike and Abby are not William's children. Instead, Vanessa is William's daughter. It sort of makes sense, Elizabeth has been portrayed with blonde hair before and there is a loose connection between Security Breach Vanessa and Elizabeth. (Her actress is also Elizabeth Lail...) The timeline also lines up, Vanessa/Elizabeth was a child in the 80s, since the FNAF movie is set in 2000. One small problem though... Vanessa is alive. Is Elizabeth actually Vanessa's sister that died in the 80s, similar to what happened to Mike's brother? Why does William blame the missing children incident on Vanessa during the final confrontation? I have no idea. I'm really curious to see how this all connects.
There's a weird previously unseen springlock suit in the storage room??? It almost looks like an early version of Baby, based on the face... And Abby almost gets placed into it. Interesting.
I gotta refresh myself on the game lore, I do wonder how much of the game lore still makes sense if you assume the movie is also canon. Maybe the Schmidt family (Mike, Abby, Garrett) can work as the Afton children (Michael, Elizabeth, Crying Child) with William Afton actually having a different family to what we assumed (Vanessa). Though, assuming movie Vanessa is the same as game Vanessa, with Security Breach taking place likely 25-35 years after the events of the movie (which was confirmed to be in 2000), she would be in her 40s / 50s in SB. Maybe she just looks young for her age ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I suppose it's possible that in the 2030s, an unrelated woman who looks strikingly similar to Afton's daughter just decided to work for Freddy's. Maybe Afton controlled SB Vanessa because she reminds him of his daughter. Who knows.
Moving on from the lore, here's some other things I wanted to mention:
Chica's magic rainbow in the mall
The diner that MatPat works at is named Sparky's (reference to the Sparky dog hoax from early fnaf days)
Also... MATPAT IS IN THE MOVIE. And he says something like "Lunch is more important than breakfast, but that's just a theory." (or the other way round)
Dream theory being a book and major plot point
After the credits, there's a robotic voice reading out letters (similar to that one fnaf minigame). At first I thought it read something like HOME (I didn't quite hear the rest). But it could just have been SAVE THEM or HELP THEM like in the minigames. EDIT: After rewatching this part, it definitely says "COME FIND ME".
They actually played TLT's FNAF song in the credits.
There's some loose parallels to things that happen in the books, like foxy for Abby around arcade machines, similar to what happened to Charlie in The Silver Eyes.
Balloon Boy toy jumpscares were hilarious.
The animatronics teaming up to build a fort for Abbie was hilarious.
I just love how goofy this movie was in some parts...
The ending does establish some plot points for the sequel with Willy getting springlocked and Mike telling Abbie "you never know what may happen" when she asks to return to Freddy's.
What happened to the aunt's body?? Like, the people who broke in got stuffed so they are accounted for. Presumably golden freddy didn't take the aunt's body when he and Abby went back to Freddy's. So did Mike and Abby come back home to their dead aunt lying on the floor????
They used the profanity budget for the movie's age rating to let the pharmacist call Mike an asshole. Love it.
WILLIAM ALWAYS COMES BACK
But Cupcake was the real villain all along.
That's all I remember for now. I might edit this later if I remember more. Very cool movie :^) 👍👍

What are your thoughts over the movie? I have some myself (and a mild mental breakdown over the Thing™), but overall, it was good. I want to talk about it with anyone, lol
Okay, so....
Spoilers below the cut:
Firstly, I loved it. You can tell how much effort they put into this movie, and it really shows. Kudos to everyone involved.
Things I liked:
Piper Rubio did amazing. No comment beyond that. Abby is one of my favorite characters now, and if anything happens to her, I'll cry.
Actually, all the kids did a wonderful job. Especially Grant Feely. He really embodied that creepy, restless spirit vibe.
Mike and Abby's sibling relationship was everything to me!
Vanessa asking Mike if he wants to dance with her (OMG).
The Springbonnie suit looked great!
Mike having a little bit of an attitude (I love him so much)!
The animatronics were cool. I like that they took the time to make them seem friendly, and almost childlike, before switching gears.
Things I didn't like:
I'm not an expert on filmmaking, so excuse me if I'm wrong here. But the pacing was all over the place. The first act of the movie was perfect, and then the second act was....fast. Like fast-fast. Based on what other people are saying, I'm 99.9% sure they cut out a lot of footage.
This one might come back to bite me in the ass later, but some plotlines felt unnecessary. I know this is FNAF and complicated is written somewhere between Freddy and Fazbear, but did we really need some side plot about an evil aunt? They didn't go anywhere with it, and we still don't know what happened to her. Did Golden Freddy K.O her? Kill her? Who knows? Because we certainly don't. We see her legs, and then she's never mentioned again.
I don't know if this is controversial, but I hate that Vanessa's an Afton. Maybe it's because I was so set on Mike being an Afton, but I really, really hate that they changed it. (I'll elaborate on that more down below).
I felt like they could have given us some more background. Some more flashbacks to the 80s. Anything.
I know I'm being overdramatic, but having the plot twist be Vanessa's an Afton kind of killed all my excitement. Which is stupid, I know, but yeah....
I mean, I'm still going to write fanfictions about the movie, and about all the ways that Mike Schmidt is actually Michael Afton.
--Sorry in advance, but I'm going to ramble--
I have a feeling that William knows Mike better than he's letting on. Of course, he did kidnap Garrett, who could have told William everything about Mike. He could have also watched the news and seen Mike with his parents, asking for Garrett to come home.
But that's not the vibe i was getting from William during the office scene. But I'll let you all decide for yourselves:
William Afton is a skilled manipulator and actor, but the expression he makes looking down at his coffee doesn't scream, "holy shit, the brother of my victim is sitting in my office." He has no reason to look concerned. Mike has no idea who he is, and he isn't even looking at William. So, why put on a show?
Also, the change in his attitude is telling. He went from cold and distant to personable in a heartbeat.
Of course, there's always the possibility that I'm totally wrong, and William is scared he's been found out. Which could be true, given that he doesn't hesitate to fuck Mike up the second he's able to.
--
In the same vein, why would William Afton-a guy known for killing/kidnapping kids around the pizzeria, or at least close to the pizzeria-drive to the middle of nowhere, pick a random kid, and kill him? I know he's crazy, but I don't buy it.
Some people are saying that Garrett is a Charlie parallel, and that Mike is Henry's son. Which could be the case, I mean, we see a mechanic in the training video that bears a striking resemblance to the actor that plays Mike's dad. I don't know if those two things are connected, but it's interesting to point out.
But, like I said, it's weird that William went out of his way to kidnap a kid for no reason. And he likely wasn't in a costume (at least I hope he wasn't, because if he was and no one saw who took Garrett, I think a kidnapped child is the least of their worries.) So, how did he convince Garrett, who was by himself for a grand total of five second, to get in the car? Maybe he offered him candy or toys? I dunno.
I might go into all the evidence/theories so far that Mike's an Afton in another post. And where they're going with Garrett's character. But yeah....
Everyone, please, feel free to share your thoughts on the movie. I would love to hear them :D!!
((Thank you for this question btw <3333))

FNAF movie Trilogy pitch
So I came up with a way they could do FNAF 2 while also showing Mike, Abby and Vanessa
Basically Mike discovers that his friend from the mall Jeremiah used to work for Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. But he can't remember anything because of the Bite of 87,so he gives Mike hisSecurity logbook and does his dream thing to live through the memories. We see the Toys, The Withereds and more importantly Afton in his peak Purple Guy era.
Jeremiah saw something he shouldn't have, so WIlliam hacks the Toys facial recognition and sicked the children on him. Ultimately ending with Mangle causing the Bite of 87 and after Jeremiah remembers everything, he leads Mike and Abby to The Puppet, to Garrett.
A family reunited? All happy ending right? Wrong. It ends with Mike taking Abby to the grand opening of Circus Baby's Pizza World. Mike and Vanessa are distracted and Abby is left alone with Circus Baby and well, you know what happens.
End credit scene. Springtrap awakens and twitches like in the FNAF 3 game trailer
Then in FNAF 3, it's a movie in two parts. First part is Sister's Location and the other one is Fazbear's Fright.
Same plot as Sister Location, Mike working to free the children and most importantly, Abby. Mike gets Scooped and ends with Mike declaring that he's going to find William.
Fazbear's Fright. It will be a mix of FNAF 3 and FFPS. Mike tracks down his father, Henry Schmidt. We learn he was William's partner and the man responsible for most of the animatronics and how William turned them into killing machines. They work together to bring together Garrett, Lefty, The children and William. They all burn together in Fazbear's Fright.

stupid darn movie theory
idk if someone's already thought of this i haven't caught up with what people think about it lol
anyway i'm calling it now, vanessa's gonna have a twin sibling that's partly possessing golden freddy
here's why (under the cut bc this is kinda long lol)
because if we're going by general lore for the movie, it was all triggered by the death of the crying child
but, seeing the characters given, none of these fit the requirements to be our c.c.
anyway it gets complicated because hey - the schmidts are supposed to be the aftons blah blah blah, but also supposed to represent the emilys, family swap shit yk
but someone needs to die to trigger the events here - an afton needs to die, and then william gets all pissy and kills off a schmidt/emily, who in this case is garrett, and thus is our charlie
vanessa's still very much alive, clearly, unless we have some utter bullshit 'i made twenty thousand robot replicas of my dead kid' going on, which i will actually fight someone if we do
so who died?
vanessa's secret twin!!!!!!
remember how in the books charlie had a twin that was our first kill by afton? and how with the family swap, afton only has one kid aka his charlie-who-is-not-charlie (that made no sense. sorry.)
vanessa killed her twin in the bite of 83, afton went and killed garrett, and they all lived not happily ever after
i think my brain collapsed in on itself because writing that made no sense but it's okay!! thank you for your time everybody

Reposting my FNAF Movie thoughts into its own post bc I realized a reblog wont show up in the tags! WARNING MAJOR FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S GAME, BOOK, AND MOVIE SPOILERS!!!
First off the movie is set in a different timeline/universe from the games and books but does have parallels to both. A majority of the parallels are with the Silver Eyes trilogy except of course the role of Mike is closer to that of Charlie, rather than Mike Schmitt's namesake Michael Afton.
The role switches and changes are as follows:
William Afton > Himself
Michael Afton > Vanessa/Elizabeth Afton
Charlie Emily > Mike Schmidt
Sunny Emily > Garrett Schmidt
Abby Schmidt > New Character
Mike's Unnamed Father > Henry Emily (most likely)
Golden Freddy Child > Potentially Evan
Michael and Evan Afton may not exist in the movie universe, similar to how in the Silver Eyes trilogy Elizabeth is the only of Afton's children that is mentioned. The bite of '83 does not happen in the books and an unrelated character named Michael (Scott likes this name I guess) inhabits Golden Freddy instead of Evan. We do see the child ghost assigned to Golden Freddy in the movie, but we don't get any other information about him. He is given more emphasis than the other children, has more speaking roles, and shares a meaningful (?) look with William at the very end of the movie. There is also the line that William says to Vanessa during their fight; "This all started because of you." If Vanessa had a similar role to Michael in this universe, she could have caused the bite of '83 which was the first death within the game series (with a canon date given) and is theorized by many to have been the catalyst of William's murders. So that would mean that this child who represents Golden Freddy would be Evan or at least Vanessa's sibling. Visually they do look like they could be siblings, with them both being fair skinned and blonde.
Vanessa's role is very reminiscent of Elizabeth's in the books. She knows about her father's crimes and is desperate for his approval and attention, despite the abuse he put her through. The key differences are that Vanessa lives to adulthood and that she resists her father's control rather than being consumed by it. It is very likely that Vanessa Monroe's real name in the movie universe is actually Elizabeth Afton, since she could be going by a different alias in adulthood, like how William is going by Steve Raglan. Her position in the story is closer to Michael's in the games: The sole living child of Afton who tries to put a stop to their father's crimes.
Mike Schmidt's role in the story is a bit more mysterious. I believe that he is meant to be the son of this universe's Henry Emily. Not much evidence for this is shown in the movie, aside from William recognizing Mike's last name in his files (though this could be attributed to him recognizing Mike as the brother of a child he killed, but he seemed very shaken up which makes me think it's deeper than that). However Mike's experiences and backstory are very similar to that of Charlie Emily in the books. Aunt Jane could be a parallel to Henry's canon sister: Aunt Jen. Aunt Jen raised Charlie in the books after Henry committed suicide, similar to how Aunt Jane is trying to get custody of Abby after the suicide of her father. Charlie holds a lot of guilt and trauma over the kidnapping of her brother Sammy, just like how Mike is dealing with the trauma of his brother Garrett getting kidnapped. Mike says in the movie that he feels closer to his dead brother while at the restaurant, which made me think of how Charlie follows a similar intuition with places where she feels closer to her own dead brother (it gets complicated in the books but at this point she had thought it was her brother's spirit). Mike's apparent lack of knowledge about the Fazbear Franchise or the murders is very problematic for this theory, but the other parallels just feel too intentional to ignore. If the movies are going to have the same crazy twists and scifi logic as the books, many inconsistencies can be excused with that sort of thing. For example, maybe Mike was the one who was kidnapped instead of Garrett and he is actually a super realistic robot implanted with false memories recorded by his father who was in grief after his death? (< Charlie's actual backstory) Or maybe Abby is the hyper realistic robot that their father made to replace Garrett? The possibilities are endless with this series, although I wouldn't object to a more simple approach for the movies.
That being said, this new universe could be read exactly as it has been explained thus far in the movie: William Afton has a daughter named Vanessa Monroe. Mike Schmidt is an unrelated party whose brother was killed by William Afton. Personally I would prefer if it was more complicated than that, but that's just me!
Let me know what you think!

THINKIJG. OF CASSIDY IN SERVSNT OF EVIL. AJD IN MY YARD FIRE AU UHM.
“I ran into a fair maiden with a hair of deep green. Her smile and her voice, to me, were sent from up above. Something moved in my chest; you might even call it love. / But we know all good things must come to an end, it is my queen's orders, that girl must repent. I will grant your wishes, if that's all I live for, so then tell me, my sun, just what causes these rains to pour?”
The fic I wrote of my au, had Garrett be in the placement of Micheala(the whole "plum hair" I gave him, etc etc. visiting the kingdom of the Aftons) & Banica(Gluttony side/the main part for Garrett). And in Evillious Chronicles lore, Allen (I bet) got that "love at first sight" stuff.
The base for Cassidy in Yard Fire is Allen/Nemesis (Vanessa is small half of Rillian & very much more Nemesis).
So, yeah. Ik bit weird. But ages are 👍 (Cassidy is like round 15 or smth. Same with Garrett. Evillious Chronicles has Rillian be QUEEN at 14. So like. Yeah).
Tbh I kinda make memes inside of my head about this yk? "Cassidy's crush was his rebellious stage too"(e.i: going back to the fact that Garreth (his name in the au), basically disabled William?? He ate his hand,, just the fingers but yk. <- where his whole Banica era started👍💥). Cassidy was there for the meeting between William & Garreth, and just.
For most of his years, he's believed that his father can do no harm and nothing bad. Tho, yes he was suspicious about him. But he never asked, and never thought about it again. He's always forgotten (middle child along with CC). So he doesn't think his questions are important.
If he is ever remembered by his father, he's more like a servant then a son. Which he got used to. So seeing his father being accused and then fucking BITTEN, by like. Another boy his age, HIS AGE.
Garreth about to rule his family kingdom, but his wish that he wanted to fulfill was to destroy evil by all means(and I mean that: he is like. In his Banica era- so. Yeag 👍💥).
It's not rlly like..a love at first sight or a crush now that I'm thinking of it. It's more like. Admiration, and wanting to be like Garreth yk?
He does also like. Plan the execution when William gets well (Cassidy is mad about it. Hoped his father got sick. Never Happened. He Angy). But it doesn't really happen as intended??? Garreth gets lured into the kingdom again, and just gets. Slaughtered/stabbed like Ceaser.
And then when Mike gets word of it, it's already days later of the "execution" (William still calls that an execution) of his brother (-figure. Just thought I'd say, that in Yard Fire; Mike & Garrett are related but very much see each other as siblings.. Abby was 1 when this was happening). And Vanessa already ran away, with Cassidy also running away(he ran away the moment he just did what he did. Vanessa was already planning to leave and decided to do it at the same time Garreth died so that was suspicious to Mike).
One post I did say, was on how when Mike first meets Vanessa he tries to kill her..but yk. She lives another day; cuz Mike saw himself in her. A lonely girl, with no one else (or so they thought. Cassidy is trying to find Vanessa. But like. Kinda short story; he gets mistaken for a bear (by a delusional person) when he was so close to reaching the Schmidts & Simmons (Vanessa)'s house. But. Yeah- bro gets mistaken for a bear and then just fucking. Killed)
Ough sorry for talking about this au outta the blue- and having it be. Like. So long I just. 👍 Yard Fire <3 (if you haven't seen the drawings I can tag you in it! It's also basically the 'masterpost' of Yard Fire!)
GARRETH WHAT. DID WHAT TO WILLIAM??? HOLY SHIT
And omg your Yard Fire AU is so interesting!!! I've seen a few drawings but feel free to tag me in them!!

some movie mike headcanons.
first and foremost, yes, his actual surname is afton; however, he is living under the name 'mike schmidt' ( mother's surname ) for the time being. his siblings' names are also evan and elizabeth. but--
he suffers from dissociative amnesia after the triple punch of '83, the mci, and william disappearing / being taken by cps ( i haven't decided yet; one way or another, the children are separated from william and michael ends up as the sole provider, compounding his stress and causing a rapid unraveling ).
this works backwards and forwards. he perceives his life as one long day starting around age sixteen, and can't discern between 'yesterday' 'today' and 'tomorrow'. he's unable to conceptualise the future. it's also not that he struggles to remember his past and can't -- it's that he doesn't think of it at all. it slides from his brain. it doesn't feel like a loss to him, it simply does not exist.
elizabeth was so young when he started acting as her guardian that she doesn't even know her name isn't abby. mike cannot recall that her full name is elizabeth and the papers he acquired for them do say 'abigail schmidt'.
the 'who the fuck is garrett' fandom reaction is also the reaction of anyone who knew the aftons before william vanished. there was never a garrett. mike cannot perceive this though. he's censored it out. you could sit in front of him saying 'evan' and he would hear garrett every time.
last psychological point, regarding the above, in addition to the psychosis he may have b(orderline)pd. he has an incredibly unstable self-image, is terrified of losing what little he has left to the point of irrationality, quickly becomes attached to people he meets whom he thinks could be friends ( and support systems, he is desperate for some support ), exhibits mood swings, and feels emotions so intensely that it becomes difficult for him to control. all of this is caused and worsened by his living situation.
moving away from his mental health, he lives alone with his sister and he works. he has trouble holding a job due to paranoia, outbursts, and dissociation. despite being relatively smart, he lacks a high school diploma and thus can only really get minimum wage work. he rotates jobs every three to nine months or thereabouts.
he knows he's an unfit parent and not what abby needs, but he doesn't want to give her up. even if he understands that it would be better for her in the long run, he just can't bring himself to do it. she's all he has and he's desperate to keep her.
his knowledge of freddy's is hazy at best. sometimes an offhand mention may prompt him to say that he's been there before or that he used to like it, but he can never summon up a concrete memory.
'doesn't steve raglan look like his dad' no first of all everyone looks like steve his friend steve. the employment officer and the auto guy and the lawyer and the therapist all look exactly the same it's just one of those faces. also steve doesn't look like his dad his dad looks like [stock image of a customer service representative his brain autofills into any memory of william].
he still knows how to do some fun mechanical shit! he just doesn't usually offer it up because it doesn't come to mind. if you put a machine in front of him and told him to fix it he'd probably do it without thinking, but since it's not something that often occurs to him, he can find himself stumped by his own appliance problem. you very much have to distract him and then slide the pieces into his hands at which point he'll just take over.
fun tidbit: he can kind of roller skate.
fun tidbit: his japanese and russian are intermediate, he learned from past coworkers. normal shelf stocking activity and i'm not joking he was killing time. this should make him more employable. it does not.
fun tidbit: he's a very good artist!

More stuff I did for my FNAF au
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vanessa → St. Vanhumrigh “Henry” Afton-Simmons.
Elizabeth / C.C → El1za² Afton.
Mike Schmidt → St. Micheal Aruther-Blavnkeberry
Garrett → St. Garreth Aruther-Burntenberg
Main names I have for now!
(placements!↓)
Mike (Schmidt) : Clarith
Garrett : Micheala
Abby is here, I just don't know where to put her (but I do have her full name!! : Abigail Aruther-Blavnkeberry. She and Mike are siblings by blood, while she and Garrett have a sibling bond together).
Elizabeth/C.C↓ : Michelle Marlon
C.C : Sleeping Princess(Margarita Blankenheim)
Micheal (Afton)/Vanessa (Afton) : Nemesis Sudou
Cassidy (Afton) : Allen Avadonia
William Afton : Gallerian Marlon
I changed the whole clockwork doll, to be like a puppet. El1za² has a more nutcracker appearance, due to their mouth being shaped the way it is. Eyes are forever closed due to how C.C was the sleeping prince; and never slept - never had his eyes closed.
Reason why I made Vanessa have a middle name being "Henry", is because. Well. She is gonna have the final blow, make the final move to make sure William stays dead forever. And she would also be the one to start the fire that also ends her life(not just hers tho. Mike's there too, so she also ended his life. But he wanted to stay, and be there to at least see the killer of his brother wither and decay. ,, yet the will to keep on living got to him, and he left at the last second on where he could've died. Abby is mentioned throughout this whole plan, and thru Mike's story. But Abby only makes a clear appearance when Mike is finally out of the fire. Abby then groups her friends(Cassie, Gregory, and other kid characters in FNAF; David(mimic), Tony, Eillis, etc), and they are the ones to finally have the MCIs just go the afterlife).
Abby, and Mike are both Sloth descendants, but the sloth demon went to infect C.C because he was the perfect vessel. And then, not too long ago, Mike then became the second vessel for Sloth(doesn't mean he slept, he did. But he did too much to not sleep(yet not really. He was very lazy), that it seems like he doesn't sleep at all. But Mike is strong so he fights it off when he desperately needs to sleep). But it didn't last long.
Garrett is a Gluttony descendant, as he wants to rid the world of evil(first step was to be kind to someone, he fulfilled that: becoming friends and then brothers with Mike who was ,, not treated kindly due to how different he looked. White hair, and yellow eyes. Him and Mike becoming brothers also fulfilled something in him; having siblings. He was an only child, so he wanted siblings. And he got siblings!). It's not that he's greedy, he isn't. Gluttony is very different from Greed.
William is the Greed vessel/descendant/great-grandson of Gallerian Marlon. The greedest judge ever. And William followed in his footsteps, but more extremely(killing kids, etc etc). He wanted to keep his family the tightest it can be, so he made everything and stole everything for his family. And he wanted his family and him to live forever. His most extreme greed, turned into the most greediest in the world as ever seen(Gallerian type greed but with a couple of more steps yk?). He has turned his two youngest into a puppet, which he believes is the real one.
C.C, didn't die first here. Elizabeth did, and when she did - C.C, two weeks later, was then the vessel for Sloth. He was the vessel for 2 whole years. Dying, due to himself over-dosing with a "medicine" he calls "p.s" ; The Purple Prince brought eternal sleep, to anyone who complained about the slightest bit of inconvenience to their sleep.
Casside, is the second oldest. He was a servant, while Vanhumrigh was the heir(first born, and with that she would be queen). He dies as well, leaving Vanhumrigh, the first born, to be the sole child of William. William didn't care for Casside, as far as you need to know. Casside and Vanhumrigh were twins! Casside first died on the day that William was to actually die on. But, soon afterwards William was to be very heavily injured(and very mentally unstable). — All of this, then caused Vanhumrigh to split from the Afton family(turning to use her mother's maiden name; Simmons). She went to train herself to become stronger, to one day face William.
Garreth Aruther-Burntenberg, died when he was 15; before his birthday(April, 2th).
The mask that Vanhumrigh has, is that of a crane! (I tried to remember what a crane looked like from memory)
____
That's all im saying. Still basically working on this AU. But tell me if y'all like it tbh-!

FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT YET I MEAN IT!!!!!!!
im ab to rewatch it at home and ill be writing what i think during it
im not gonna be talking ab stuff i already said in my other post lol
the FIRST SCENE is already fucking visceral dude. like they dont show any gore or anything but damn the fucking. aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAA ITS GOOD its so good. also the previous security guard does exactly the same thing mike does later own to try to escape the freddy mask but mike succeeds and he doesnt, which is kinda like how in game phone guy (previous security guard) goes through the same process we do but we/mike survives and he doesnt. cool!!
THE INTRO WITH THE MINIGAME STYLE... DUDE. DUDE. I LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS A LOVE LETTER FOR THE FANS FR I WAS SO HYPE WITH EXCITEMENT I ALMOST STARTED CRYING IN THE THEATER. ALSO ITS JUST FUCKING COOL LOOKING
the rainbow!!!!! in the coffee shop scene!!! its the fnaf world rainbow!!
see the movie has the scene where william reads the name michael schmidt and pauses and long time fans will prob be like aha is that william realizing this is his son. but no thats where it tricks you bc hes actually just realizing this is a relative of that kid he kidnapped a while ago. which like obviously cuz why would william realize this guys his son by reading his, fake name?? but confirmation bias or smth
I WAS SO SHOCKED BY SEEING MATPAT THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED THAT I DIDNT CATCH HIM SAYING "THATS JUST A THEORY". OH MY FUCKING GOD DUDE
🎶It's getting lonely, it's getting hard to breathe
The arcade's empty, I think it's Christmas Eve
Someone's broken in, now they're painting on my skin
Breaking me and taking my quarters
Bashing in my face with a crowbar
Kicking me and pushing me over
Now they see my blood on their sneakers🎶
i am so jealous of the midnight motorist shirt its not even funny
my complain is that how did none of the animatronics have blood on them after brutally killing several ppl. come on!!!
me hearing the words "follow me" on a fnaf movie: holy shit is this a motherfucking fnaf reference?!?!?
oh my god that totally is the fucking fake dog animatronic
oh my god they dont actually swear in the og. she said "what in the heck" but portuguese translated that to what the fuck. incredible. amazing.
"i know what crazy looks like, mike. this isnt it" OH. OH
vanessas behavior was already pretty understandable without the extra context but knowing shes williams daughter makes it JUICY. ooo yeah baby gimme the trauma gimme the guilt
the scene with the animatronics and abby being besties felt a bit too ooc at first to me and ive heard that other people felt the same but as i think more about it it does kinda make sense. one of the main differences from the game is that in this the ghost kids' minds seem to be pretty intact? or like they can think theyre fully conscious etc so. i can see them wanting to do kid stuff. and i saw someone point out that they were actively trying to get abbys trust too so they could convince her to 'join them' (bc afton was somehow influencing them to be #evil) so, theres that. and either way it doesnt take away from the overall experience so who cares
the tv scenes were such a missed oportunity they couldve shown the immortal and the restless... i kept waiting for it :(
oh my god the airplane. i just realized she had garretts toy airplane bc william gave it to her after he killed him oh my god i feel sick
the ball pit wasnt even time travelling 0/10
i didnt watch the credits long enough in the theater to hear the COME FIND ME but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA dude
yeah so good. i fucking loved this

Just watched the fnaf movie
I've heard that if you know nothing about the fnaf lore that it's a reasonably enjoyable movie (for a pg13 horror) but if you know a lot about the fnaf universe that it's not great
And yeah I can see both perspectives.
So for anyone who knows nothing about fnaf, the lore is like this: William Anton and Henry Emily make a themed family restaurant with animatronics where the insides are spring loaded so they can also be used as a suit. Aftons youngest son (likely named Garrett) dies when the Freddy animatronic bites down on his head in an instance that was the fault of aftons oldest son, Michael.
For some reason, the youngest son's ghost now possesses that suit. And afton figured this out.
The springtrap suits were retired for full on animatronics. Afton went kind of crazy or something and started kidnapping other kids while posing as security and also as his original springtrap suit, bonnie. He placed the kids bodies in the animatronics so now their spirits possess those.
Not remembering much about their killer other than the uniform, they then attack anyone in a security uniform.
It's heavily implied that Michael is the security guard in the first game, as well as in sister location and in pizzaria simulator. This is implied by the fact that he apparently smells bad. (Well sister location is where he gains the scent trait due to reasons that im not going over right now)
(Afton also had a daughter named elizabeth who became circus baby but that is not relevant to this summary)
Shit happens and the possessed animatronics get afton to put on the springtrap suit years later when it is in not so great condition and the springs fail and he dies in it. And according to the laws of this universe, that means he now possesses that suit. This releases the five kids he's killed. Fortunately, afton is sealed in a room with no exit. Unfortunately, he is later released into a fnaf museum/haunted house.
He and the other remaining animatronics (including a few I will not get into because the timing is ridiculously controvertial in the fandom and also sister location holy shit) are lured to a new reopening on a Freddy fazbear restaurant and Michael is the guy who is running it with the funding from an unnamed benefactor who is Henry Emily who burns the place down with everyone inside to end the madness. (And this concludes the series with its original creator, Scott. All games after this were made by.... someone else? idk)
Afton is somehow uploaded into a video game (vr) that goes over the "folk tales" that is the plots of the original fnaf games in universe. He is now known as glitchtrap. Vanessa, a play tester for the games, is now partially possessed by him and is kind of going insane. She gets a security job at the giant emporium in security breach and kills kids and other animatronics in an attempt to resurrect springtrap bonnie aka afton.
Got all that? Me neither.
The movie is about Michael Schmidt (NO relation to afton), whose little brother garrett goes missing vis kidnapping in his childhood. He is currently the sole caretaker of his sister abby. He gets a job at Freddy fazbears, which is just an abandoned nostalgia building and meets a police officer vanessa. Long story short, afton was the one who kidnapped Michael's brother, Vanessa is aftons daughter, Abby is autistic but like dealing with it, and afton still dies via springtrap bonnie. But the kids are heavily implied not to be released by this, which sucks for them.
So you can see how someone with hard-core fnaf knowledge would be like "no??? What the FUCK" and how someone without fnaf lore knowledge would be like "oh, cool"
As I am neutral on the subject of lore, it was a pretty good movie, not really scary, really REALLY light on the gore considering the original games, and predictable if you knew the original content. ESPECIALLY if you knew the original content. I heard Vanessa and I was like yeah she's def connected to afton, likely daughter.
Also they didn't really go over what happened to Garrett other than "he died :(" so if a sequel is in the future they can still make him, like, golden/springtrap Freddy like he may or may not be implied to be in the games (it's complicated)
Also the speingtrap abby was almost trapped in? Weird circus baby/puppet hybrid and did not like. Maybe it was implied to be a prerequisite of circus baby. Idk. If they try to do a sequel with puppet I'd be interested to see how they do it because puppet is a very interesting character to me but also very creepy.
Kind of glad they didn't attempt nightmare versions of the animatronics tho. The cgi was also ready a bit iffy and nightmare versions would have made the move Just Bad.
They never explained what animatronic they were putting people into either. Like it was obviously a torture saw trap type of thing, but afton heavily implied he killed the kids with a knife. The saw trap was just kind of..... there.
Anyway, pretty good movie, definitely not going to win any nominations ever. I enjoyed it

so since there's evidence pointing AGAINST garrett being golden Freddy, with the blond brown stripes kid being golden Freddy, here is my next guess
so during the movie "its me" pops up in the office during one of Mike's dream sequences. aka, when he feels closest to garrett and is actively reaching out for him. this of course is a golden Freddy reference.
the thing is that it's me has two different meanings in the gameverse depending on what you believe. the first is that its Evan reaching out to Michael to tell his brother that's its him after not seeing him because hes dead for like 9 years. the second meaning is that cassidy says it's me to Michael because she thinks hes William. they look similar and are related, so she thinks mike is William and says it's me to try to get him to remember the one he should not have killed.
the second meaning wouldnt work. william afton and Mike schmidt in the movie arent related and they dont look similar either. PLUS the kids are actively on William aftons side because of the manipulation and know who he is.
so that's scratched out. leaving the first meaning with Evan reaching out to Michael. or in this case, Garrett reaching out to Mike.
more evidence supports this with post movie credits stuff. the puppets music box melody plays during the credits and im pretty sure scattered words read "come find me." theres no sign of a co-owner or Charlie emily (so far), so my guess is that garrett is the puppet.
its weird but hey whatever. it's just different. I think blond golden Freddy kid is a Cassidy counterpart/foil and Garrett is obviously Evan. so he'll still have that goodness to him that the puppet will bring with give gifts give life
if this is true then it means WE GOT MOVIE COUNTERPART GOLDEN DUO BABEY!!!! they arent really golden duo but they're foils of their game counterparts respectively. and that's good enough for me

good morning team. as promised here is my Very serious fanf movie review. there will be spoilers if anybody cares about that type of thing. also this review is messy as hell and I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about
the first thing I’ll say is that it was not a good movie. it was like. pretty boring actually. but at the end of the day this was the fucking five nights at freddy’s movie and I love fnaf and I have since I was 10 and I was seeing it with four people I love so it was a fun time. like seriously we were fucking Losing it in the back of the theater. the worst part was that everybody else was just sitting there like 🪑 as if the movie wasn’t hilarious. with the exception of when matpat came on the screen and everybody in the theater turned to whoever they were with and went “what the fuck.” in the car on the way there my sister’s friend was like “there’s gonna be a matpat cameo there has to be” and I was like “no there’s not man don’t be ridiculous” but when that motherfucker came on screen I nearly went up to the front of the theater and killed myself in front of everybody. okay that’s dramatic but I did turn to my sisters friend (four people away) and say “I’m gonna fucking killing you” way louder than I intended and I’m sure everybody in the theater wanted to kill Me and it wouldn’t be the last time. because as I said we were the only ones in that theater having fucking Fun I thought the energy in there was going to be electric but no. whatever at least we were having a good time being annoying and losing our Mind whenever anybody coughed up in the back right corner.
but as for the actual movie again. yeah it was boring. idk. like not much really happened and the Big Moment where the kids killed william afton was so underwhelming. the whole thing was underwhelming. but I did like the movie. I’ve loved the games forever and I was so excited to see all the animatronics get up and move around and be silly and have a good time. mike doing all that lucid dreaming stuff while completely neglecting his job was fun and I Love some good guilt over the loss of a sibling so I enjoyed. throughout the whole movie I kept turning to my friend and saying “this is just like lilo and stitch” because it literally fucking was and nobody’s talking about it. that’s a good thing for the record. one of my fav moments in the whole movie is actually when abby thinks mike is gonna transfer custody to the aunt so she goes into her room and scribbles out mike’s face in all the pictures she’s so real for that. speaking of abby I do have to wonder why the kids chose Her to. I want to say torment but that doesn’t work and neither does the word groom. pick on? single out? seek out? idk maybe it was just because she’s the sister of the (presumed) first victim garrett but who’s to say.
okay let’s talk game comparisons :) I actually really liked that the movie took place in a timeline separate from the games it made the movie a lot more compelling to somebody who knows the game lore very well. one detail I Loved is how they didn’t say mike’s last name at All until the final fight with william like it wanted to keep us guessing as to whether his last name was schmidt or afton. I wish the movie had taken place in the fnaf 2 pizzeria so we could see balloon boy and puppet and who there’s chica but that would have just been Too Much so I get it. also did the animatronic they tried to shove abby in lion like a biddybab or was I going crazy? if it was biddybab does that imply the existence of circus baby’s pizza world? because they were clearly setting this movie up for a sequel and I would Love to see circus baby. anyways I’m kind of obsessed with the the way they sort of switched up the roles of the kids. in a way. like. okay this next part is going to be really annoying. so it’s like the afton family was vanessa and william and the emily family was like the schmidt family with mike abby and garrett. like garrett was effectively the charlie since he was the first and since I know the games I have to assume he “gave life” to the other missing children by having their souls live on in the animatronics. garrett was Also an evan figure because his brother like accidentally caused his death and couldn’t save him. but mike was also a puppet/charlie figure because of how he was helping abby the whole movie. okay maybe that’s tenuous. but abby was Also like charlie because she helped put the souls to rest by helping them realize that william was evil. but she was also like elizabeth because she kept going to the animatronics despite the clear warnings etc. vanessa was a mike like character because she was the child of the serial killer and was trying to do her best to atone for her fathers sins but ultimately sucked at it. and mike is like michael in the way that he Is michael also he feels immense guilt over the death of his brother that he “caused” the death of through negligence. they all have to prove that they’re not a bad person for things that happened outside of their control when they were children. idk where I was really going with that but I was thing about that a Lot during the movie.
this deserves its own paragraph but vanessa wants to be betty cooper so baddddd sorry there’s only one girl with a blonde ponytail and a serial killer dad that I support. vanessa could never even Dream of being betty.
back to the actual movie I feel like I would have liked it if it was gorier. one of the stand out moments for me was max the babysitter getting bitten in half and when mike escapes getting shoved in a suit and finds all of their bodies because it was genuinely pretty creepy. could have been scarier but whatever it’s fine. all that being said tho the movie was visually stunning (to me) and the actors were great and I fucking liked it. it was funny and it was a good time and yeah maybe it would have been better on 1.5 speed but you can’t have everything.
and I think I was able to enjoy it more than everybody else (aside from my sister) that I talked to about it because they were like “I spent the whole movie trying to figure out where in the timeline it took place!” but I went in knowing that it didn’t take place in the game timeline at all which probably saved the movie for me.
okay I think that’s all it’s not even morning anymore bye
