Finishing Deema's taxes had taken you longer than you'd like. You'd had to amend the last few years after she had discovered (or 'discovered', and you're not sure which bothers you more) a diary of expenses going back a few years, and long arguments about deductions ('Everyday shoes aren't a business expense!') set you back even further.

'Sign here,' you tell Deema the next morning after breakfast, and place another statement in front of her.

'You should be able to forge my signature by now,' she grumbles as she marks her name.

'Nope.'

'Nobody up here cares,' she adds.

'I'm still a registered bookkeeper,' you say. 'I've got my ethics.' You still don't know if you'll renew your registration.

'Bookkeepers can't complete tax returns.'

'Bookkeepers who aren't also accountants can't provide it as a service. And you're not paying me. This is just your apprentice helping you out.'

She mutters something that sounds suspiciously like 'I hate you,' and signs the next statement.

You carefully pack Deema's returns into your trusty pack and walk into the town hall.

A tired looking clerk nods vaguely as she half-listens to you explain that you're lodging current and amended returns. She flicks through your stack of papers and lets you know they'll be processed within a few weeks.

Your over-explaining must have alerted her somewhat to your background because before you leave she says, 'There's information on becoming a tax help volunteer on the noticeboard in the foyer.'

Before leaving the cottage you had armed yourself with a brush to scrape paint off the rocks. It doesn't have to be a good job, you reason, just enough of a job to interrupt the sigil. Still, remembering the volume of rocks you painted puts you off enough to start near the platform where you can at least take comfort in the sight and smell of the sea.

It's when you're sitting cross-legged in the dirt scrubbing a stone that you hear a sharp whistle and look up. Lex is at the top of the stairs, looking bedraggled and exhausted, and they point to the stone in your hand with a raised eyebrow.

You shrug and wave them over. You're not sure how to communicate 'currently scrubbing sigils.'

'What are you up to?' Lex asks as they squat down next to you.

'Scrubbing the paint off these rocks.'

They take a moment to think that over. 'How did the paint go on?'

'Ah. Me.' Before they can rib you you ask, 'Nice swim?'

'Nope. Fell in.' They don't bother to wring water out. 'That's a lot of rocks,' they say, probably before you can rib them.

ok so first things first we're gonna establish where everyone is in the car tm. In the front, we have Kirigiri driving and Togami in the passenger seat, with Naegi and Shuichi in the backseat. (Gonna end up drawing on the last time I had to go into the dentist for surgery, which was like a year ago to get a tooth filled)

Bitty Bucko is totally out of it from being fresh off the surgery slab so I don't think he'd notice or at least even fully feel it depending on how heavily numbed up he was. Naegi, sitting right next to him, would probably be first to notice. He claims to be the most basic of basic boys so I have to assume he's been to the dentist a normal human amount of times (He's never had braces tho because I will take tooth gap Naegi to my grave) and would just try his best to help Shuichi clean it up.

So yeah Shuichi gets cleaned up real quick but not long after The Front Seat Duo Tee Em and to prevent Togami from getting them all killed on accident they pull over so he can check on him✨

Homeboy gets him some water, helps him clean up, then when they all get home Shuichi gets some hot coco and a much needed nap. Togami also took Naegi's spot next to Shuichi so that if it happened again he could help Shuichi out without them having to stop.

And maybe maybe as much as Lance really wants to be nice and help Silver out on his path in becoming a better trainer and person... But Silver is bratty and tsundere and mildly traumatized and can't deal with/doesn't want Lance's goodness. And maybe Lance genuinely wants to do this nice way but one day Silver is particularly bratty and maybe says something that makes Lance snap and go ok, I tried.

Silver would probably be a little scared seeing Lance do, well, maybe not a 180 but definitely he would never expect to be manhandled so roughly by this guy of all people like this... Maybe even dip a bit into a dubcon territory but they are both a bit fed up? Maybe even mid-training, just right there, on a ground and still entirely clothed, somewhere away from people but still in plain daylight.

I think he is a good friend even tho he isn't the most emotional. He is logical and not easily startled [especially not outwardly]. He also is loyal and -- fond, affectionate in his own way/people he's very close to. He is a good friend to the people to get to him, like I feel most wouldn't think he is but those who love him work the best for the way he loves [does that makes sense?] They understand him and ae flattered by that attention. He's abysmal, I feel. But mostly because he has no desire to, most of the time. And also his personality -- because I feel even with his personality he could likely make more friends, but he doesn't lmao. I would say Nat and Mason are the most important friendships in his life. I am sure Tina would love to say she's on the list, but Kai sees her as a work friend [at best. acquaintance really.]
