The last few days have been pure confusion. You could clearly feel this at Ferrari.
After Carlos' appendicitis was announced, on which he had to undergo surgery, the young Briton Olli Bearman was brought in to replace Carlos and chaos began to reign in the team.
Some things had to be changed, such as the adjustment of the seat, as well as various other things up to the well-known gift in the social media.
The hustle and bustle could be clearly felt throughout the team. But the excitement was not just for the young 18-year-old Brit, but also for the Spaniard. Because most of the time, the team's thoughts were on Carlos, who should soon have the operation behind him.
" Have you finished the Instagram post yet? " Lucy asked me as she sat down at the table opposite me.
" Uhm, what? " confused, I lifted my eyes from my mobile phone, which I kept glancing at hopefully to be the first to hear the news about Carlos' condition.
But so far there was still no news, which slowly started to make me more and more nervous.
"I wonder if you've already posted on Instagram that Carlos has come through the operation okay," Lucy continued in a gentle voice and put her hand on my arm.
It took a few seconds for her words to sink in and for me to really understand what she meant.
" W-really? " I stammered, while at the same time a huge stone fell from my heart and I began to feel the tightness in my chest, which had been there since yesterday, loosen.
" But I didn't read anything in the group. How do you know that? " I was sure I hadn't read anything, because for the last ten minutes I'd been checking the Ferrari chat on my mobile phone, hoping I hadn't missed anything.
" Fred just came up to me. He was talking to Carlos Senior. Everything went well and he's now recovering in hospital. " Lucy gave me a soft smile as her thumb gently stroked my arm.
Not only was she my best friend on the team, she was also the one who knew how close Carlos and I actually were.
When I joined the team about a year ago, Carlos was the first to welcome me with open arms and show me around.
During my first day at work, the Spaniard kept coming round to ask me how things were going.
When he invited me for a meal at the end of my first shift and listened attentively to what I had to say about my first successful day at work, a friendship developed within a few weeks.
"Thank God," I whispered quietly as a relieved smile crept onto my lips.
All your fears and worries that something could have gone wrong during the operation vanished within a few seconds.
"I'll post it straight away! " I almost shouted as I reached for my mobile phone and then opened the Ferrari Instagram account that I was partly responsible for.
One of my tasks in the team was to keep the fans up to date via Instagram and Twitter. I also had a say in the C2 Challenges on YouTube, where I always created fun content for the fans.
It wasn't long before I had chosen a photo of Carlos and typed up a short text about his condition and then posted it.
"Now I can get back to work feeling better," I mumbled as I reached for your fruit salad, which had been sitting untouched on the table in front of me, and started eating.
" I believe you. It's about time my favourite colleague was finally back at work with a smile on her face. "
Yesterday almost flew by, which was probably due to the good news that had lifted my spirits so much that I was completely back in the swing of things.
Olli had done well in the third free practice session and in qualifying, as had Charles, who would start today's race from second place.
This lifted my spirits even further, so I entered Ferrari Hospitality with a smile on my face and greeted a few of my colleagues who were already having breakfast.
"Morning sunshine," Charles greeted me with an amused smile as I stood next to him at the buffet and reached for a plate.
"Morning my favourite Monegasque," I replied brightly and then reached for a croissant.
" Do I want to know why you're shining like the non-existent sun today? " Charles asked as he reached for a bowl of muesli and then continued. " Well, actually, I know what it is..."
Charles winked and then began to waggle his eyebrow dramatically, which looked rather strange.
"Are you all right? " I asked him, while I also secured a bowl of muesli and placed it on my tray.
" I'm doing great. I'm ready for the race, but that's not the issue right now. Try not to get distracted," he almost admonished me and raised his index finger in the air in warning before continuing. "Could it be that your good mood is back thanks to Carlo's successful operation? Because since this was announced, you seem to have changed. "
" It's race day..." I tried to talk my way out of it, but I couldn't, as Charles hovered his index finger over my lips to indicate that I should be quiet.
"I'm neither stupid nor daft. I know for a fact that there's something going on between you and Carlos. It's certainly none of my business, but I can see that you're good for each other and I think that's great. Don't stop doing good for each other, okay? Okay, great! See you then! "
Before I could open my mouth to give Charles an answer, the Ferrari driver had already fled, almost running, with his tray.
Shaking my head, I looked after the Monegasques for a few seconds before I ran over to one of the free tables with my tray and began to eat my breakfast in peace.
And as I sat there eating my breakfast in comfort, my thoughts kept wandering back to Charles' words.
Were Carlos and I really on good terms? And if so, was Carlos and my behaviour really so obvious that others had probably noticed?
Once again, a tightness began to spread through my chest, so I pushed the breakfast on my tray to one side in disgust and began to sigh softly.
But before I could even begin to think about Carlos and me, Lucy appeared in front of me.
Her blonde hair lay dishevelled on her face, her cheeks shimmered red and she put her hands on her hips, out of breath.
" Lucy are you okay? " I asked cautiously and all I got in reply was a squeezed " Water. "
After I handed Lucy my water, which she drank within a few seconds and then just stood there for a few more seconds, I got nervous.
I could sense that something wasn't right and the fact that Lucy just wouldn't come out with it made me even more nervous.
" Lucy... " I almost urged as you began to shift restlessly on the chair.
" Carlos is here! " she almost shouted so loudly that one or two Ferrari employees turned to us both and looked at me in confusion.
"Sorry, I meant Carlos is here," she repeated more quietly as she dropped into the chair opposite me and rested her elbows on the table.
" What? Why is he here? He just had an operation yesterday! " I looked at the person opposite me with wide eyes as I almost jumped up.
" I have no idea! I saw a story on Instagram where he's walking through the paddock. Or should I say crawling? He can barely walk, he looks absolutely pale and like he's in pain! " she continued, making strange hand movements that I couldn't interpret at all.
" What?! " I repeated again, almost stunned, while my heart began to beat faster.
Why was he here and not resting? He couldn't be serious.
I immediately began to worry so much that I jumped up and ran off without waiting for an answer from Lucy.
" Thanks for breakfast! " she called after me, but I hardly noticed because I only had one thing on my mind. Carlos.
I kept dodging various members of other teams as I ran, keeping my eyes peeled for Carlos.
It wasn't long before I found him and a few other Ferrari employees in the pits, where he was greeted warmly with hugs and a few words.
I stayed in the background and watched Carlos from a distance. And indeed, he looked anything but well.
His posture was more hunched than upright and his face was rather pale, which occasionally even showed that he must clearly be in pain.
Why the hell wasn't he lying in bed and resting?
It took a few minutes for the Spaniard to catch sight of me. Within a few seconds, his face brightened and he literally crept over to me.
"Mariquita," he greeted me with a smile on his lips and pulled me into a warm hug shortly afterwards.
I carefully wrapped my arms around him, hoping not to cause him any more pain.
" Carlos, what are you doing here? " was the first thing I said to him.
" How about a "Oh, hello Carlos. I'm glad you're doing well and that you've come through everything okay?" " he asked as he let go of me and then leant against the wall next to me.
He seemed to find it difficult to even stand up straight. He was even still wearing his hospital bracelet. It was as if he'd literally fled from the hospital and gone straight to the track.
" Are you crazy? You had appendicitis, had to have an operation and haven't even rested for a day? You can barely walk, you look incredibly shitty and you still seem to be in pain! " I spoke in an angry voice and didn't care if anyone was listening. Because apparently I was the first person to say these words to him.
And probably the only one who was thinking straight.
"I'm fine," he tried to reassure me, but he seemed to realise himself that this wasn't the case.
" No, you're not! " I looked at him seriously for a few seconds before turning on my heel and leaving.
Carlos' warm hand grabbed my arm and caused a slight electric shock to run through my body.
"I'm sorry, Mariquita. Let's talk in peace," his voice sounded soft and calm.
He carefully led me into a kind of storeroom that I had never been in before.
A few things were stored here, such as drinks and spare items for the mechanics, like a sofa that stood in the middle of the room.
Carlos slowly lowered himself onto the sofa, grimacing slightly, and then carefully pulled me next to him.
The sofa was so narrow that we sat there more or less pressed against each other and the touch of our knees and arms made my heart start beating faster again and I became slightly restless.
" You have every right to be angry with me and to worry. That's really sweet of you, but it was entirely my decision to come here. In hospital, the ceiling would have literally fallen on my head and I wanted everyone to know that I was okay."
"But you should take it easy, Carlos..." I almost mumbled and looked at the Spaniard, whose eyes were on me.
"I will, I promise," he assured me as he came a little closer to me and I felt his breath on my cheek.
Shortly afterwards, I felt his warm lips lightly on my cheek, which made the area start to tingle warmly and the heat shot up my cheek.
" I've heard from some people how worried you were about me. That was really incredibly sweet of you, Mariquita," Carlos began and gently stroked a strand of my hair behind my ear before continuing.
"We both know that there's more between us. And that's why I want to ask you if you'd like to go on a date with me? " His brown eyes rested calmly on me while a soft smile formed on his lips.
His words caused chaos to awaken in my stomach, as all the butterflies that had just been lying there quietly for a long time began to awaken and turn my feelings completely upside down.
" Yes, but only if you take it easy. Otherwise you can forget the date," I replied with a partly serious and partly worried look.
It was important to me that Carlos recovered fully from the operation and regained his strength so that he would soon be fit again and able to get back into the car.
"I promise, Mariquita."

The Algorithm is AI Art
Last year, I used DALL-E to create a series of images for a digital tarot card deck I was making for my personal use. When I shared some of those images here on my blog, I got a massive amount of push back and even threats in my inbox. I'm still putting my thoughts together on that experience but it did make me realize that most people don't seem to realize they're supporting the AI art they hate so much - to the tune of millions and even billions of dollars per year depending on the platform - almost everyday through the algorithms they use.
So if you genuinely hate AI art, I'm here to tell you that you've got to do what you can to get rid of and not use the algorithms in your life. That kind of support is more materially complicit with AI's intrusion on art than someone making a few images for themself ever could be.
Yes It's Possible
For many platforms, especially when they're accessed on desktop, it is possible to greatly reduce your contact with the algorithm. I use browser extensions to cut out the AI curated feeds on YouTube, Facebook, and Reddit. I mostly use Instagram on desktop to answer messages.
I generally do not use Instagram, Facebook, and other apps that do not allow users to control their feed on mobile. I know Instagram is mobile only - when I use it on mobile, I download it, upload what I want, then delete the app again.
I am considering cutting these out entirely again once this phase of my experiment for a zine I'm writing is over because honestly, they're not worth it, but that's a different post...
I also really recommend either making a separate email account or getting ruthlessly organized in your current one, so that you can sign up for artist's newsletters and other forms of human centered curation. RSS readers like Feedly can also be a good alternative.
The point here isn't perfection - the point is doing what you can. Not because it will change companies - but because it's better for you and the artists you care about.
Why?
Algorithms in these spaces determine who's work gets shown and more importantly - who gets paid enough to continue making their art.
AI has consistently been shown to reproduce and even exaggerate biases already present in society. This video by Ann Reardon of How to Cook That talks about YouTube's lack of transparency about the potential for a sexist bias in YouTube's algorithm and shows that in the top views at least, there's a clear slant toward male creators. The only woman in the top 10 does not show her face in her videos - unlike most of the men in the top 10. This discrepancy is even larger the further down the list you go.
Who gets shown is who gets paid enough to keep making their content/art. Less pay means people can afford to put out less content/art and can't scale - meaning less diversity in content/art.
What art gets shown influences what inspires new art and content to be made. You are seeing art directly shaped by AI everyday - and more than that - by continuing to click on what it serves up to you, you support it.
This AI influence on real world art has become so normalized that people consider it as natural a force of nature as wind. It's not. This was designed - and it can be redesigned.
I want to be careful not to overstate the influence of a click either - your clicking on something you choose is not a form of activism. Your clicks cannot retrain the algorithm at scale. A lot of people have the misconception that you can train "your" algorithm but what the algorithm on your feeds is doing is actually comparing your clicks to it's database of similar user profiles and their behaviors to decide what to suggest to you. Your clicks don't retrain the AI as a whole, they just match you with a different user type.
The real reason I think those concerned about AI in art need to find ways to take control of their feeds is because it ensures you're able to support a diverse array of creators through your views and it ensures that what you're taking your inspiration from isn't what the AI decides is worthy of attention.
I realize there are those who are reading this who either might not have been old enough to remember or even weren't born when YouTube basically took your Subscriptions off the front page. It used to be they would pop up at the top of the front page. Then it got knocked down on the front page. When it got shoved into it's own sidebar link and then that link progressively minimized through redesigns - there was actually an outcry about it.
People warned that this would lead to a watering down effect, where smaller channels didn't get the chance to grow like already established ones would. Creators of marginalized identities saw their views drop dramatically. Similar things happened when Facebook and Instagram fully took away a user's ability to have a chronological feed (this was possible in the early days). I know of more than a few creators who fully had to step away from their work because of the change over. I miss their art.
And then the outcry petered out. The companies didn't lose users over it so nothing changed. Eventually people got used to it and the protests went away. These companies now know they're "too big to fail" and can ignore user outcry until people acclimate the new normal that serves them. This normal serves them because it does actually increase engagement and keeps you on the platform for longer - which means less time spent on your own creative activities, yet another way they impact what art gets made.
TL;DR: if you hate AI's impact on artists and their employment opportunities, take control of your feeds. Make your own. Choose what you click. Take back your time and make more art.

I have no way of fixing this.
I have no way of contacting Instagram or Facebook.
Because I have a tiny account, I cannot find a way to contact them.
I have not received a notice of violation.
I have not violated anything.
I know this because I can still post via mobile. I can see the account, when logged in. There aren't any warnings.
The Facebook page is working fine.
My options are basically "abandoned Instagram for business" or "create a new account." Fortunately the shop hasn't launched so it kinda doesn't matter.
You know how I get a bit intense about "social media marketing is not a viable solo path forward for marketing small business"?
This is why.
Something happened somewhere and I can't fix it.

I'm using Shopify now until I decide on an email provider, who will similarly have customer service I can contact.
The first product I launch is going to be a $1 physically mailed newsletter that says "Hey this is what's going on. Your $1 helps keep us in business."
One of my first blog posts is going to be "this is how I built the $1 physically mailed newsletter and why I think you should build one for your shop and/or subscribe to others."

You indemnify Sponsor from and against any cause of action, complaints, or other claims arising out of the breach of any of the foregoing warranties.
Each Entry may only be submitted by a single Instagram registered user. Multiple entrants are not allowed to share the same Instagram registered username. By entering the Sweepstakes, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions in writing from any person (or parent/legal guardian if person is a minor) or whose name may appear in the Entry. If, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, you have breached a representation or warranty contained herein, the Entry will be subject to disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, it considers an Entry inappropriate in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to not award the Prize in the event it does not receive any eligible Entries. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding.
5. DRAWING:  One (1) potential winner (“Winner”) will be selected in a random drawing on or about 12/5/23  from among all eligible Entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Designation as the Winner is subject to the potential Winner’s proof of compliance with these Official Rules, continued compliance with these Official Rules, and approval by Sponsor. The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, including interpretation and application of these Official Rules.  
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION:  One (1) Potential Winner will be notified by the Sponsor by Instagram DM on or about 12/5/23.
The potential Winner will be required to follow the instructions provided by Sponsor and respond via DM within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may be required to sign and properly execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release (where legal) (collectively, the “Release”) and return the Release via email (and subsequently by mail) to Sponsor within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may also be required to perform additional clearance requests at Sponsor’s discretion. Upon receipt and confirmation of documentation, the potential Winner will be named a “Winner”. If the potential Winner fails to properly execute and return all information and/or documents described herein in the time specified by Sponsor, or if the potential Winner declines to accept the Prize, or if the potential Winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, the potential Winner may be disqualified and, at Sponsor’s discretion and time permitting, an alternate winner may be selected (subject to all verification and eligibility requirements of these Official Rules) even if the disqualified potential Winner’s name, Instagram username, or Entry may have already been shown or announced online.
 In addition, you acknowledge and agree that Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any potential Winner at any time, in its sole discretion, on the basis of anything contained in, or learned or obtained as a result of, the submitted Release or any other forms requested by Sponsor that, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, would constitute a breach of these Official Rules or any such forms, inclusive of any proof of permission that Sponsor may request in its sole discretion.
7. PRIZES: One (1) Winner will each receive one (1) rugby shirt, one (1) t-shirt, one (1) pair of socks, one (1) tiny tote, two (2) bag charms, one (1) kat bag  and two (2) pairs of Emma Chamberlain x Warby Parker frames  (“Prize”). Prize is non-transferable; no substitutions allowed, except at the discretion of Sponsor. All details of Prize shall be determined solely by Sponsor. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of Prize, pending winner verification. Approximate retail value (ARV) of Prize is $495. 
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Neither Sponsor nor any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, nor any of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and employees, nor Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any Internet access providers (collectively “Releasees”) are responsible for: incorrect or inaccurate entry of Entry information; human error; technical malfunction; lost/delayed data transmission; omission; interruption; deletion; defect; failure of any telephone, computer, or other network or of any computer equipment, software, or any combination thereof; inability to access Instagram; late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrect or incomplete Entries; or any other problems or errors related to the Sweepstakes. Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor, will be subject to disqualification from the Sweepstakes.
9. LICENSING OF ENTRY:  By entering this Sweepstakes, and to the extent allowed by law, you grant Sponsor and each of its affiliates, licensees, promotional partners, advertising and promotion agencies, and third party marketing entities a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, unconditional, fully paid-up, and transferable license to use, edit, modify, cut, rearrange, add to, delete from, copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, publish, exploit, and use the content of and elements embodied in the Entry in commerce and in any and all media worldwide, without limitation or compensation to you, as well as the absolute right and permission to use your name, Instagram username, biographical data, photograph or other likeness (including your Instagram profile photograph), and prize information. You waive and release Sponsor and Releasees from any and all claims that you may now or hereafter have in any jurisdiction based on “moral rights” or “droit moral” or unfair competition with respect to Sponsor’s exploitation of the Entry without further notification or compensation to you of any kind, and agree not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against Sponsor and Releasees, on the grounds that any use of the Entry, or any derivative works thereof, infringes, or violates any of your rights therein.
You hereby acknowledge and agree that the relationship between you and Sponsor is not a confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship, and that your decision to provide the Entry to Sponsor for purposes of the Sweepstakes does not place Sponsor in a position that is any different from the position held by members of the general public with regard to elements of the Entry, other than as set forth in these Official Rules. I'm beginning to think that Jungkook isn't running that In the Seom account anymore. At first I was like aw he's having fun, and woah he accepted a jikook shipper- that's sus, etc. I was just happy that he tried out the gamr. But now I'm wondering if maybe he was asked to post that account on his story by the company as a marketing strategy? Because it's definitely working like one. More people tried out the game, more people are sticking with the game because they feel like they're interacting and competing with JK. Idk but as more time goes on I can't help but feel that maybe this whole account is just run by some Hybe employee? I just severely doubt he's that bored + has that much time on his hands to keep leveling up every few hours. I know they're technically on break but he's still not jobless lol. Maybe I'm overthinking it? I've only seen one other person bring this up so I'm curious to see what other people think.
🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 I - why would he lie?! That's his Instagram! Lol and all these ways he wants to 1) play games and 2) interact in a special way with ARMY is soooo on brand for him. Those are 2 of his favorite ways to spend his free time. Lol and let's remember that they have more control over what their schedule is looking like these days and how much free time they might have. On top of that, JK has always had a weird and not so great sleep schedule. Meaning he doesn't get enough of it. Lol
He LOVES gaming and has shared on multiple occasions how he spends his free time gaming and how he can do it for hours and how he can get really competitive about it and not want to stop until he beats it or is insanely good at it. He used to post clips of him playing overwatch. They've shared that he used to game often at the dorms with Tae or with Jin. Tae shared a story once from an old clip where you could hear him playing League with JK, Yoongi, Jin and Hobi (those being the members who spoke into the mic at least). Staying up all night to play a game, not off brand for him. Especially also considering all the armys who are busy IRL and have full time jobs who are over level 100 in the game too. PLUS considering that JK has lots of disposable income to spare to get extra hearts, blue diamonds things and anything extra he can buy to help him level up faster and spend less time waiting for things to load etc. That's gonna speed up his game time too. AND I don't think having army visit his island or join a club is just a marketing strategy. It's just legit JK loving spending time with ARMY. It's super on brand for him to carve out time to spend with fans. He spent hours doing Instagram Q&As in the middle of the night, not just during quarantine, but also after a performance when they still had schedules the next day too. He spent HOURS in the middle of the night on vlives with army and singing to us, on days he has to wake up for work the next day too. He spent HOURS talking until the middle of the night, just to then go and hop on a bus to go film ITS. He used to join fancafe group chats with ARMYS. In 2018 he held weekly fancafe dates with army every single Friday for a long time. Where he would create a group chat and the first X amount of people who could guess what the password was could join his GC and he would sit in there and chat with the armys for 15 to 30 minutes every single week. And in 2018 they were so booked snd busy it was insane. But he still made time to hang out with army AND still made time to work on GCFs and his own music AND go work out AND some off time gaming. You don't have to be jobless to spend a few hours playing a mobile game before you go to bed, or while you are eating your meals, or while being driven somewhere. He really honestly isn't leveling up that fast compared to a lot of other people I've seen to make it seem like he isn't doing ANYTHING but gaming. Lol
So I guess, I DO think it's JK. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be. And I don't think it's out of character at all for him to be doing this either. And I don't think Hybe has to worry too much about marketing it. The game was doing just fine before JK shared anything on his story about his island and his club. But you are all free to think whatever you want 😅 this is my opinion though 🤷🏻‍♀️💜

Quick wins if you don't like your relationship with screens:
Get rid of recommendations and feeds - there's lots of extensions to block Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as YouTube recommendations. Purge your YouTube Subscriptions and only select videos from your subscriptions or what you seek out in your search bar. Don't use these on mobile where taking the feed out is not natively available.
Adopt alternative messengers - Look for messengers that don't use your data to show you ads. Skip Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok messages. Signal is the classic but if that's not your style there are many others. Want a letter writing like experience without the postage? Try SLOWLY.
Create a social email account or organize your current email to show you more social emails - social emails are emails that were personally written to you specifically from people you know. I get it, you don't want to give your phone number out to people and if you quit social media what would you give them? Your email. Depending on what email you're using there's lots of tutorials on how to get social emails in their own box or tab so you can find them easily. Declutter your email (newsletters especially) so you can more easily use it as a tool.
Consider leaving or putting strict limits on apps with no user controls over your feeds - I'm talking TikTok and Instagram here. Don't want to leave, that's fine. But take a break. See how you feel. Still not wanting to leave. That's cool. Consider setting an app timer and giving someone else the password. Given that there's no way to build in a stopping point in these apps and they're primarily mobile which make user modification dicey - you need a hard limit some how. But seriously consider passing on it.
Consider a custom phone UI (Android Phones) - there a many apps out there that let you alter your phone to be visually less distracting. I use minimalist phone but there are others. Some cost up front but the customization is simple and effective.
None of this will ultimately fix the issue. To be clear. That's not the goal. The goal is to give you enough of a break that you start to see social media for what it is a little more, make it less appealing. So this is not one of those "just turn off notifications and turn your phone to greyscale" posts. It's more of a life raft to help you keep your head above water.

if you popped into the Ted tag in the past two or three days, you might have been hit with the sight of a supposed DM between “him” and a fan:

however, this appears entirely false and i’m fairly certain i can prove it’s fake:
1.) Ted doesn’t talk like that. it is the most jarring part of all, aside from that this was probably entirely fabricated altogether. i’m not saying i’m privvy to his DMs or texts and how he messages people but it’s so far off from how he interacts with people on social media that it genuinely doesn’t read as him at all
2.) the misaligned text and the randomly fluctuating text size. the text size is not congruent throughout, the first message is abnormally larger than the next 3 lines, and those lines don’t match each other at all - even with the shot taken at an angle as it is, they would not look like that tilted. it is not leveled flat and straight like normal text would - nothing about it matches what an actual message layout would appear as
3.) there is not a single timestamp or date included. it is impossible to hide timestamps with the current instagram UI at the very start of correspondence in DMs

you can only get the giant PFP, the followers count, post counts, whether or not you follow each other, and any accounts you both follow from the very start of your DM correspondence - meaning this only shows up with the very first messages you send to an account. after sending more messages, the block of account information is no longer visible as it gets pushed up by further exchanged texts
you will also always have a date and/or timestamp at the top of the beginning of your first DMs, that’s not exclusive to one phone or tablet OS - the app itself is fairly congruent between different brands and their OSs. it is also not exclusive to accounts that follow each other or not
any other DMs from that point on will look generially like this:

you can literally only get the giant PFP, follower count, post count, etc. from the very start of your correspondence, it disappears with the more messages exchanged. and it will not appear anywhere else except on mobile or tablet
all DMs look like this from desktop - it doesn’t matter which browser, because i tested it on Firefox, Chrome, and Edge (screenshots i can also share, if you want them) and they all are the same:

dates and timestamps still at the top of the start of message threads - you cannot remove dates and timestamps from the beginning of direct correspondence with the way the instagram UI is now - it will always show the date and/or time the very first message was sent. and the block of instagram account information will only appear at the very start of messages first being exchanged
also, the big PFP, follower count, post count, etc. is not available  through desktop, only mobile and tablet, so it cannot be duplicated anywhere else
there is too much not adding up and the fact that it has proven impossible to replicate through conventional means leads me to believe and state with conviction that it is fake, manufactured
i’m not sure which app was used to do it, but based on how the picture was taken - the angle and the distance - leads me to believe a watermark or app interface was cropped out purposefully. there are multiple apps and sites out there that can be used to create such fake interactions, but beyond not knowing just which one was used, i’m also not going to exhaust myself trying to search more than i have
could i be wrong? yes, i’m not going to say that it’s impossible for me to be missing something, i’m not an instagram expert by any means
do i think i am wrong? no. too many things just don’t add up
i’m more than willing to eat my own words if everything i’ve just laid out can be proven wrong, but i genuinely cannot replicate what is displayed in that screenshot, which leads me to believe it is fake
it also lends precedent that she has been lying repeatedly about supposed interactions that i also believe have never taken place. but that’s for a whole different post of its own
if, again, anything could be brought to light to prove anything i just said to be incorrect, i would gladly recant. but i don’t see that happening. she’s locked down every account she has and the likelihood of Ted seeing any of the fuss being made about all this goes down every day, since he is so rarely online and interacts with so few replies and almost no @ s from people he doesn’t follow

3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, you first need to have the Instagram application downloaded on your mobile device and be a registered user at time of entry until the time that Warby Parker notifies the potential Winner. There is no cost to download the Instagram application or to become an Instagram user. If you do not have an Instagram account, you can get information on how to sign up for one for free at http://instagram.com. By submitting your information and creating an Instagram account, you agree to Instagram’s Terms of Use (http://instagram.com/about/legal/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://www.instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/). If you do not agree to these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you cannot create an account, or participate in this Sweepstakes.
During the Sweepstakes Period, like the @warbyparker x @marvel post announcing the Sweepstakes, follow both accounts and tag a friend in the comments of the post. Each individual comment with a unique tag shall be considered one (1) entry (each, an “Entry”). 
All Entries must also comply with the Entry Requirements set forth in Rule #4 below in order to be eligible and the Instagram Terms of Use. Entries not submitted in accordance with the instructions provided in these Official Rules are subject to disqualification, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. For the purposes of these Official Rules, receipt of Entry occurs when the Instagram servers successfully receive the comment. Sponsor shall not bear any responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected Entries. All Entries become the property of Sponsor.
4. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: By participating in the Sweepstakes, you warrant that your Entry:
(a) does not contain any use of names, likenesses, photographs, or other identifying elements, in whole or in part, of any person, living or dead, without permission (proof of which must be provided to Sponsor upon request in a form satisfactory to Sponsor);
 (c) does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, logos, copyrighted material not owned by you (other than Sponsor-related materials), contract and licensing rights, rights of publicity or privacy, moral rights, and any other intellectual property rights;
(d) is not subject to any third party agreements, and that Sponsor will not be required to pay or incur any sums to any person or entity as a result of its ownership, acquisition, use, or exploitation of the Entry or rights therein;
 (e) does not contain hateful content of any kind (including without limitation racism, sexism, etc.), content which promotes violence or harm to another living creature, or any other offensive, obscene, or inappropriate content, the determination of which shall remain in the sole discretion of Sponsor;
(f) does not promote any activity that may appear unsafe or dangerous; and
(g) does not contain reference to any political agenda or party.
You indemnify Sponsor, Marvel, The Walt Disney Company, and their affiliates from and against any cause of action, complaints, or other claims arising out of the breach of any of the foregoing warranties.
Each Entry may only be submitted by a single Instagram registered user. Multiple entrants are not allowed to share the same Instagram registered username. By entering the Sweepstakes, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions in writing from any person (or parent/legal guardian if person is a minor) or whose name may appear in the Entry. If, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, you have breached a representation or warranty contained herein, the Entry will be subject to disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, it considers an Entry inappropriate in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to not award the Prize in the event it does not receive any eligible Entries. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding.
5. DRAWING:  One (1) potential winner (“Winner”) will be selected in a random drawing on or about 10/30/23  from among all eligible Entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Designation as the Winner is subject to the potential Winner’s proof of compliance with these Official Rules, continued compliance with these Official Rules, and approval by Sponsor. The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, including interpretation and application of these Official Rules.  
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION:  One (1) Potential Winner will be notified by the Sponsor by Instagram DM on or about 10/30/23.
The potential Winner will be required to follow the instructions provided by Sponsor and respond via DM within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may be required to sign and properly execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release (where legal) (collectively, the “Release”) and return the Release via email (and subsequently by mail) to Sponsor within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may also be required to perform additional clearance requests at Sponsor’s discretion. Upon receipt and confirmation of documentation, the potential Winner will be named a “Winner”. If the potential Winner fails to properly execute and return all information and/or documents described herein in the time specified by Sponsor, or if the potential Winner declines to accept the Prize, or if the potential Winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, the potential Winner may be disqualified and, at Sponsor’s discretion and time permitting, an alternate winner may be selected (subject to all verification and eligibility requirements of these Official Rules) even if the disqualified potential Winner’s name, Instagram username, or Entry may have already been shown or announced online.
 In addition, you acknowledge and agree that Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any potential Winner at any time, in its sole discretion, on the basis of anything contained in, or learned or obtained as a result of, the submitted Release or any other forms requested by Sponsor that, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, would constitute a breach of these Official Rules or any such forms, inclusive of any proof of permission that Sponsor may request in its sole discretion.
7. PRIZES: One (1) Winner  will receive one (1) PlayStation®5 Console - Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle, one (1) Peter Parker frame and one (1) Peter Parker II frame (“Prize”). Prize is non-transferable; no substitutions allowed, except at the discretion of Sponsor. All details of Prize shall be determined solely by Sponsor. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of Prize, pending winner verification. Approximate retail value (ARV) of Prizes is $789. 
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Neither Sponsor nor any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, nor any of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and employees, nor Marvel, The Walt Disney Company and their affiliates, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any Internet access providers (collectively “Releasees”) are responsible for: incorrect or inaccurate entry of Entry information; human error; technical malfunction; lost/delayed data transmission; omission; interruption; deletion; defect; failure of any telephone, computer, or other network or of any computer equipment, software, or any combination thereof; inability to access Instagram; late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrect or incomplete Entries; or any other problems or errors related to the Sweepstakes. Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor, will be subject to disqualification from the Sweepstakes.
9. LICENSING OF ENTRY:  By entering this Sweepstakes, and to the extent allowed by law, you grant Sponsor and each of its affiliates, licensees, promotional partners, advertising and promotion agencies, and third party marketing entities a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, unconditional, fully paid-up, and transferable license to use, edit, modify, cut, rearrange, add to, delete from, copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, publish, exploit, and use the content of and elements embodied in the Entry in commerce and in any and all media worldwide, without limitation or compensation to you, as well as the absolute right and permission to use your name, Instagram username, biographical data, photograph or other likeness (including your Instagram profile photograph), and prize information. You waive and release Sponsor and Releasees from any and all claims that you may now or hereafter have in any jurisdiction based on “moral rights” or “droit moral” or unfair competition with respect to Sponsor’s exploitation of the Entry without further notification or compensation to you of any kind, and agree not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against Sponsor and Releasees, on the grounds that any use of the Entry, or any derivative works thereof, infringes, or violates any of your rights therein.
You hereby acknowledge and agree that the relationship between you and Sponsor is not a confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship, and that your decision to provide the Entry to Sponsor for purposes of the Sweepstakes does not place Sponsor in a position that is any different from the position held by members of the general public with regard to elements of the Entry, other than as set forth in these Official Rules. By submitting an Entry, you understand and acknowledge that Sponsor has wide access to ideas, photographs, designs, and other literary materials, and that new ideas are constantly being submitted to it or being developed by its own employees. You also acknowledge that many ideas may be competitive with, similar to, or identical to the Entry and/or each other in theme, idea, format, or other respects. You acknowledge and agree that you will not be entitled to any compensation as a result of Sponsor’s use of any such similar or identical material that has or may come to Sponsor from other sources. You acknowledge and agree that Sponsor does not now and shall not have in the future any duty or liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory, or otherwise, with respect to the infringement or protection of your copyright in and to the submission.
10. ADDITIONAL TERMS: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found tampering with the entry process or entry materials. If, in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to void suspect Entries and/or terminate the Sweepstakes and award the Prize from among all Eligible Entries received as of the termination date or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor will endeavor to post notice of termination on blog.warbyparker.com. 11. DISPUTES/CHOICE OF LAW: The laws of the United States govern the Sweepstakes. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of you and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of New York or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New York.
You agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (b) if the parties are unable to resolve their dispute amicably, such dispute shall be resolved by arbitration; (c) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event and under no circumstances will you be permitted to obtain awards for attorneys’ fees; and (d) you hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.

Hello hello everyone! Tomorrow is the start of November, which means we're also so close to the start of Novaember! For those who weren't around last year or would like a refresher, Novaember is a month long Novae-centered creative event. We (the admins of the Novae Galaxy discord server) have put together a bingo card filled with prompts, and the idea is to create a bunch of awesome Novae fan content and have fun in the community!

READ THE CARD
In the same way we read the ‘column + number’ on a BINGO card (B2, B4, I29, etc.), each column title is paired with a box in its same column.
On Novaember cards, each column is labeled with a category, and each box represents a prompt, so together they are read as ‘category + prompt’.
For example, the first box in the first column on the default card is read as ‘Date: Death’.
How you interpret each pairing of category + prompt is completely up to you, and if you get stuck, you can always choose a different pair.
