She's out of breath from their latest round -- every now and then Kairi would fight with Vanitas, not out of any desire to harm him. Rather because she knew he enjoyed getting his energy out. And she did to, especially to see how much she had improved. But that is where a certain problem appeared... some self doubt manifests when she asks,

"Vanitas? Do you... hold back when we fight?" Her keyblade vanishes and she plops down on the floor. "You don't think I could handle it?"

Vanitas stands there impassively as Kairi pants, noticing how she holds her Keyblade lower. How her eyes seem unfocused. That wouldn't do. He took a step forward to start to raise Void Gear to bring it crashing across her, only to stop himself before his arm had even begun to move.

He shouldn't be doing this in the first place. This was wrong. Kairi was not for this. Kairi was not one who should be beaten until she bled. That was for Vanitas alone.

But Kairi didn't understand that. No one understood that—except maybe Xion and Cineris.

He grimaces beneath his helmet when Kairi speaks and dismisses Void Gear in a flash of purple fire. He walks over to her now, crotches down, and jabs her forehead with his finger.

"Duh," he says unempathetically. There's something cold in his voice here. He's keeping himself as distant from this as he can. It's the only way he can make sure that he keeps himself under control.

Because it would be so easy to let go during these fights, to really let Kairi have it. He could drown her in so much darkness and watch her writhe on the ground in agony as her light desperately tried to fight it off. He could break her legs, her arms, her everything.

And he wants to.

But this part of him was not for Kairi.

"I shouldn't even be playing around like this in the first place. This isn't a good idea, Princess."

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
