#I don’t even think it should be banned

I’m scared for the kids who might unknowingly buy the Harry Potter game or the books or the movies without knowing what’s going on. We need to ACTUALLY ban this franchise. Burn copies in stores. Smash your friend’s computer if you have to. I don’t know why we’re simply telling people to “read other books” and not going full scorched earth. There’s children out there who could be entrapped into this thing and not know until it’s too late…(It’s not censorship because it’s actually bad. Only minorities should be allowed to censor things because we know best.)

Nice try, buddy.

Do yall think that like Danny would read the fanfiction people write about him?
Cause I think he would avoid it at first but you know the saying curiosity killed the cat (or bragging killed the fenton. Hey they both get brought back)
Anyway so maybe hes just online, probably tumblr or twitter, and someone is posting a summary and a link. Oh that sounds neat sure lets check it out. Maybe he lets it go to his head in classic teenager style. Sam and Tucker think it’s weird but tbh Danny needs the win.
That or hes completely disgusted by it. He is a real person not some character to be fantasised about. Sam and Tucker tease him about it but totally agree that it’s super weird and gross. I mean people aren’t actively hurting anyone but Danny doesn’t go anywhere near the internet anymore, unless it’s to game and shitpost on twitter. Tucker probably made a huge program to help so none of them have to see the ship art. Again they arent bashing anyone but hes a kid and doesn’t wanna be traumatised anymore thanks.
Idk wtf in goingnon anouy buy it’s 735am and I am so tired but I need to be up a few more hours… wait does this oart go in th tags? Wheres am I

do you think there could be a weird route with your oc ham? maybe like RadioRaze or something? anyways have a good day!!! :)
i like to think a weird route with ham would be pretty much impossible bc ham is a kinda stubborn and maybe-a-little-mean-on-purpose 12 year old with no allegiances NDNDNHSJ she’d find out lancer was in your inventory and just talk to him the whole time and ignore you and the only reason he doesn’t immediately ditch you for trying to tell her what to do is bc lancer is there and he wants to talk to him bc he seems like fun. have a good day too :]

as soon as a horror essayist starts talking about how depicting some horrific topics is just “in poor taste” or “offends people’s sensibilities too much” & thus specific horrific themes of any given nature shouldn’t be addressed in horror well. I lose all interest anyway even if the rest of what the person was saying was interesting

Some kids gets mad that their teacher talks about Jack and Ralph’s relationship and dares to entertain the idea of little crushes… and then other students annoyed that isn’t covered (aka me in school lol) is why I can’t be a 9th grade English teacher.
Because like I would love to talk about lord of the flies all day with people just reading the book for the first time. I LOVE doing that. But god I couldn’t take the pressure of like what is and isn’t okay to discuss in school.
Like I’m sorry a lot of required reading books do cover touchy subjects if you get into them. Idk how I would talk about the pig “right up her ass” scene as a teacher… I probably would avoid it at all costs. Even though you could probably talk about the deaths and be okay… idk how far you could go with the “did the boys eat Simon?” question that comes up. And if I couldn’t touch religion they would suck I think that’s part of the book!
But I do think it says a lot about how Golding thought ~boys~ would act in this scenario. And I think that scene is a good clue to the age old question “what would it be like if girls were on the island” because yeah… the pig they kill and then lodge a stick up the ass of for no reason really is a female pig/mother.

Minnesota I’d trying to ban gas lawnmowers (which I agree with after looking at how much they pollute) but I feel like it’s just going to be a stupid thing that republicans will be attached too like gas stoves …..

#I wonder if the people who are about to allow the bill through its first reading are sleeping soundly. I wonder what they’ll#eat for breakfast. how do they go about getting dressed? do they stare into their sock drawer and feel a terrifying dread about the bill?#are they as afraid of it failing as I am afraid of it passing?#do they at least think they’re doing the right thing? do they think they’re acting for the greater good?#is it just malice in their heart? anger?#do you think they’ll let it through because of adamant passion? do you think they don’t really care and they’re just doing what#they think their friends would like?#will they shrug at any outcome? would they celebrate with friends and handshakes and toasts? if it fails do you think they’ll go home and#weep at the lack of control they have over their world? will they wonder if they should move somewhere more tolerant of their transphobia?#do you think they have a specific trans person in mind as they let the bill through?#are they remembering a specific person? are they thinking ‘this bill needs to pass so my kids don’t end up like that’?#I wonder if they’ve ever been a customer in my store. I wonder if I helped them. I wonder if they took a look at me and#decided ‘I cannot allow this kind of sin to exist.’ what if I motivated them with my upsetting little existence?#I’ve seen so many old men in expensive suits. I’ve embarrassed them by carrying their things to their car because they didn’t realize a GIRL#would show up to do it. how many times have I heard ‘oh YOURE carrying it? I was expending a strapping young man!’#maybe they just saw me for a moment and thought ‘oh god what an ugly dyke. this is why transgendering should be banned.’?#I don’t understand why they get to make decisions like this for me. It isn’t even a vote. they’ll go to work and do their job: determine#whether I am allowed to exist or not. I’ll go to work and do my job: be a cashier and be nothing else.#they have the power to determine my entire life. I couldn’t even refuse to help them if they came to my job.#maybe they’ll even stop by after work and check out at my register and they’ll be polite for the sake of convenience and I’ll be polite too#and they’ll leave and think ‘thank goodness people#like that won’t be allowed to change their bodies anymore. I hope she’s able to be normal and make a good wife for someone and stop this.’#sorenhoots

Look I struggle with change and things being different from how I imagined them, absolutely. That’s normal. In this context: Bummer, it’s not viria art literally come to life. But y’all gotta shake that nonsense off and look at Leah’s face and admit “oh yeah, she’s got that I-know-more-than-you face” and get over yourself. She’s gonna do an incredible job!! She’s super talented, super pretty, and maintains the spirit of Annabeth!!!!
And if you can’t do that, fine, fair, whatever. But don’t you bully a literal child.

if they make same sex sex illegal again what would happen?
hypothetically i think it would probably look like allowing the states the ability to make gay sex illegal which would mean ppl being able to report anyone they suspect to be engaging in gay acts to the police and the police being able to target ppl on suspicion of being gay & allowing the return of police raids on places like gay bars & stuff. that being said i REALLY don’t see lawrence being overturned just for the fact that it’s unlikely a case would get up to the supreme court for that. are there lawmakers that would love to outlaw gay sex just to bring a law up to the courts to overturn lawrence? i’m sure there is. however the court has already REALLY taken a hit to its legitimacy at this point which is the only power it actually has & i can’t see them jumping to make another controversial decision like that any time soon. perhaps it could happen in a few yrs from now or smth but whereas abortion is a highly contested topic homosexuality is at this point spans neutral to positive in general public opinion & would be an even bigger hit to the court’s legitimacy since even moderates & some conservatives would agree that it’s wrong to ban homosexuality entirely whereas abortion is WAY more of a cut and dry political split (meaning less of a hit to their legitimacy since conservatives are loving them rn). the court isn’t really going to make a huge political decision that will be polarizing to a majority of the public despite what thomas might want. i think even if someone tried to bring a case up they wouldn’t take it or if they did they’d alter lawrence & legalize it based on the equal protection clause rather than privacy. but that is just my opinion based on my undergrad studies being p focused on con law (including the court’s behavior) lol

Getting the vibes that to most of you bodily autonomy is only for thin people
#I’m of the controversial opinion that even if a type of medication or a surgery was specifically 50% more likely to *kill* fat people#I should be allowed to have it because I am in charge of my own life#but that’s not even considering doctors who refuse to learn how to operate on fat people or just treat us worse after we have a surgery#you shouldn’t need to prove fat people have exactly the same risks as thin people for us to be allowed to have medical care#because honestly we probably don’t given doctors actively and loudly despise us#like they don’t even hide it#and even the most fat accepting person acts like expecting people to lose weight in order to be allowed essential medical care#is totally fine and good#it isn’t#it’s a horrible thing and the problem isn’t doctors not being more open about it#it’s that it’s a thing at all#just because you were forced to lose weight to have surgery doesn’t mean every fat person should#or even could#I was really determined to be skinny when I was a teen#I stayed the exact same weight despite barely eating#and I did not have energy hardly even to watch TV#and you think I should have to do something worse to myself in order to deserve medical care#not that it’s ever going to be relevant as I am basically banned from ever getting the medical care I need so#at least a doctor can never hang that over my head I was never going to get it#but also this has contributed to my whole ‘death is the best logical option’ deal

I’m not trying to attack you, but do you know that proshipper means someone who supports and romanticizes pedophilia, incest, and abuse? Your reblog on that post seems to read that you think antis just hate on people for having ships they don’t like. But it’s completely different than that. Just looking on the proshipper side of Tumblr and the internet and you can see people happily shipping children and adults and making nsfw content of such things.
i appreciate that you're not being outright hostile, but i have to say, that on its own put you above basically every anti i've interacted with.
i understand where antis are coming from, i really do. there are a lot of things on the internet that make me deeply uncomfortable, including the minor/adult ships that you mention. i don't want to anything to do with those kinds of ships and i would be happiest if i never saw them again. which is why i'm proship.
nine times out of ten, if i see that kind of ship brought up on my dash, it's because i was following an anti without realizing it, and they brought it up unprompted and untagged, to talk about how bad it is that they exist. they are the ones putting that kind of content in front of my face and making it harder to avoid.
the thing about people who ship those ships is that they're generally very aware that not everyone wants to see that kind of content, and so they tag it. they make sideblogs to talk about it. they don't go out of their way to shove it in people's faces. that means i, and everyone else who doesn't like it, can avoid it.
what antis want is for it to not exist at all. they want the tags to be purged and blocked, and for anyone who uses those tags to have their accounts deleted. and sure, that might get rid of some of it, but do you know what would happen to the rest? it would stop being tagged. people who don't want to see it wouldn't have the tools to avoid it. this isn't just a hypothetical, that's what's happened any time a fan space has tried to do that.
that's not even getting into the rabbit hole of what should be banned and what shouldn't. obviously any content that depicts real children or real life abuse shouldn't exist and shouldn't be allowed to be posted, but basically any platform that people use already enforces those policies, and there's not much of a slippery slope to go down there. if it involves real living breathing people being abused, it's bad. end of discussion.
but the same can't be said for fiction. ask ten antis for a specific list of all the content that should be banned, and you'll get ten different answers. what about kink? what about roleplay? what about horror and murder and anything that involves fictional characters being graphically tortured? what about people using art to process terrible things that have happened to them? what about art that uses dark themes as a horror element? if you just want to ban anything questionable to anyone, that's the line of thinking that gets any mention of lgbt existence banned. and again, this isn't just a hypothetical, this has happened before, and that's generally where it leads.
i know, from personal experience, that antis do, in fact, send harassment to people just for shipping things they don't like. i've gotten accused of absolutely vile shit for shipping two fictional characters who were both consenting adults. i've seen ship wars turn into moral battlegrounds, over ships that an average person wouldn't bat an eye at.
the thing about "romanticization" is a whole other can of worms. the anti logic goes like this: if someone sees something (even if it's very obviously fictional) in a positive light enough times, they will start thinking it's okay in real life, and go on to hurt real people. the problem with that is that it's just. blatantly untrue.
if it were true every horror movie fan would be a serial killer, every person that studies dark media would be an unhinged psychopath, and everyone who is into ddlg would be a pedophile. but they're not. they just aren't. people have directed movies just as fucked up as the darkest shit on ao3, and are still capable of being normal human beings who know right from wrong in real life.
even if someone is that impressionable, scrubbing away the existence of every piece of questionable content isn't going to solve their problem, because they're still going to be vulnerable to con men, scams, and cultists. the only thing that would actually materially help someone like that is developing their own morals and critical thinking.
children are also more impressionable, and there's a lot of content that's not suitable for them, but that doesn't mean that content shouldn't exist. it just means that they should stick to spaces designed for them (which most social media sites, tumblr included, are not) or, if they're old enough to be responsible for their experience online, they, or a trusted adult in their lives, should block and filter out things that they aren't comfortable with.
which is what everyone on the internet should be doing. it's what i do, and it's made the internet a much more pleasant place to be. and it's why i sometimes worry for antis mental health, especially teenagers, because they're being told it's right and moral to seek out content that makes them uncomfortable and to engage with the people making it. and that's just. really bad. it's not good for the creators that they're harassing obviously, but it's also really bad for them! it's not healthy to seek out things that make you feel bad, and it's a terrible internet safety lesson to teach minors that it's okay for them to seek out and engage with people making adult content.
individual harassment and crusading is never going to succeed at removing dark content from the internet. it just isn't. at best you might get a small percentage of people who create that content to stop sharing it, at worst you're just going to make people stop tagging it, and either way, you're exposing yourself to things that make you feel bad, when you don't have to.
if you want to materially change the type of content you see, you can. the block button is your friend, use it liberally. same with content filtering and tag blocking.

Also like....you can get estrogen in the mail. Trans women in Missouri are likely to be far less impacted by the hrt ban than trans men just due to T being scheduled higher than E. I straight up cannot mail order T. It's a felony.
it actually blew my mind when i went to a trans gathering after the emergency order was announced and a lot of trans women, even those in leadership positions, were like “just get it shipped to you, just split it with a friend, just go to a different state and get it prescribed there” like. i don’t think they were saying this maliciously at all, i think they were just using the knowledge they have about their own hrt but they didn’t get that it’s different for testosterone. t is a controlled substance. being in possession of it without a prescription is a felony. it’s likely we won’t be able to get it via telehealth anymore because of the rollbacks on controlled substances prescribed via telehealth now that the pandemic is “over.” these healthcare bans are going to hit folks who take testosterone incredibly hard because a lot of us aren’t in a position where we’d be able to just drive across the border to another state once a month to pick up a prescription and every three months for a checkup. some of us have insurance that can only be used in missouri or in our specific area. like. these are things that trans leadership should be aware of and they’re just not and it’s really frustrating.

hey girl! i was wondering if i could order a drink? i was thinking a dirty flirtini with Oscar with the prompt "the fastest way to shut me up is to kiss me" - maybe it's the first time oscars been really bold and she's surprised but definitely not complaining - or you can make something new!
also holy shit 10k congrats you deserve it and so much more ily <33
thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
23. "The fastest way to shut me up is to kiss me."
.
Oscar would never consider himself a big drinker, Australian stereotypes be damned.
A big part of that was the fact he never really had a chance to drink or party. Despite what people assumed about the lavish life of a Formula One driver, nine times out of ten, he was too tired to even keep his eyes open on the elevator ride up to his hotel room, let alone go out to a club after the race. He wasn’t even sure how some of the other drivers managed to do it.
However, it was the race weekend just before summer break and it seemed like he didn’t have much of an excuse but to go out with the rest of the paddock—especially with Lando threatening to drag him out of his hotel room to do so.
And honestly, he hadn’t planned to drink much that night. He thought he would nurse a few drinks over a couple of hours, show his face for a decent amount of time and talk to a couple of people before he could sneak off.
That plan quickly went down the drain when Oscar noticed you were hanging around the McLaren group for the night and the nerves had him chugging down drinks far faster than he should have.
Next thing he knew, he was drunk and giggly and, because the universe was against him, left alone with you.
If he was sober, it wouldn’t have been that bad. Oscar had gotten pretty good at hiding his obvious feelings for you, considering he had been doing as much since his first day. He thought it was a fleeting crush, one that would disappear as the season continued.
Unfortunately for him, it did not. And even more unfortunately for him, it seemed like drunk Oscar didn’t have the same control over the words leaving his lips.
“You look really pretty today,” was the first thing for him to blurt out.
You turned to face him in the booth you both were huddled in. You raised your brows in surprise, but there was a smile on your face which was a good sign for him, at least.
“Just today?” You teased.
“No,” he said, so definitely as he shook his head in response. “You are pretty every day. I always think it. I just don’t say it. Which is stupid because I should tell you but I don’t want you thinking I am some weirdo who just stares at you all day. But Lando says I am already.”
“I wouldn’t think you are a weirdo, Osc,” you reassured him.
“I like the way you say my name, too,” Oscar mumbled out, leaning his head against the back of the booth as he turned to look at you. “Like, so much better than when anyone else says it. I think everyone else should be banned from saying it because it will never sound as pretty as it does when you say it.”
Your grin widened. “You’re really talkative tonight, I’ve never seen you like this.’
Oscar blinked. “Do you want me to shut up?”
You opened your mouth, but he bet you to it.
“Because the fastest way to shut me up is to kiss me,” he blurted out. And this time, he at least had the decency to look flustered by his own words.
Your palm felt warm when it landed on his arm. “And if I don’t want you to shut up?”
“Uh,” Oscar cleared his throat. “You can still kiss me, if you want. I won’t complain. Like, at all. If anything, I would probably—”
But he never quite got the chance to finish what he was saying. Not that he really remembered, not when you had placed your lips on his and every coherent thought disappeared from his brain.
“Yeah,” he murmured against your lips. “Told you it would shut me up.”
You laughed, smiling fondly. “I happen to quite like your rambles, Osc. Just as much as your kisses.”
